So torn about putting this under pregnancy or parenting 🥴 I think we’re halfway there on deliveries - just a last push needed!

@WhoUsedMyName thank you, I desperately want breastfeeding to work for us, mostly cause I’m lazy and whipping a boob out is so much easier than making a bottle or expressing.
Don’t put unnecessary pressure on yourself though, or think you have to keep at it just cause someone else is - your mental state is incredibly important x

Thanks @pigletpie2177 would really recommend the wonder weeks app completely makes you feel like you can get through a leap because there's an end and it all makes sense. Really appreciate that x

@Tink20058 not this time round yet fingers crossed! But my ds had it really bad he also had milk allergy's are you bf? If not I highly recommend dr browns bottles they look odd but they are so worth it

@WhoUsedMyName I’m bottle feeding just been and bought dr browns bottles and some colief 🤞🤞🤞 we changed her to comfort formula last week too and bought a joie sansa chair to mimic the car as that’s the only time she will settle but driving round at 2am in this weather is too dangerous so hoping all the things make the difference and we can get her out of pain did you notice a difference with bottles quickly? Xx

@Tink20058 like you I was doing a mixture of things so could have been a combination but he used to scream whilst feeding then suck then scream took so long to get through a bottle with the dr browns bottles all that stopped. Fingers crossed for you xx

Hi all! Sorry been awol for a few days! Had our tongue tie snipped yesterday and already seen improvements with feeding! So happy! He’s latching better and suckling loads more! Before he’d kind of drift off and just hold my nipple in his mouth like a dummy but now he’s actively sucking. I also had to regularly unlatch him as he’d just lie there but he’s been feeding until he’s had enough and unlatched himself and then fallen into a happy sleep! It’s so nice to feel we are making progress! I’m another that really doesn’t fancy the faff of constantly sterilising things and making up formula (also it seems quite pricey!) so would be great if we can crack this... fingers crossed!

We are nearly 3 weeks in and breastfeeding still going well. Must be having a growth spurt has been on boob loads today. Hoping she will sleep tonight. Going to fed her up now lol! We are now at birth weight which is good. Glad to see everyone is doing well .

42+1 today and been admitted to hospital to break my waters as I’ve still not gone into labour. Come on baby!!

@SnookyPook glad all going well following the tt snip. We had ours done on Tuesday and the pain is starting to subside now. J was doing the same thing - drifting off and waking up just in time to chew my nipple 😬 he was obviously managing well enough as he was back to birth weight by day 10 having barely lost anything but the latch was definitely not quite right.

@Bunnycrazy good luck for the clusterfeeding if that's what's happening! Get yourself a flask of coffee and a big bar of chocolate and get comfy ☺️

Doing ok thanks @WhoUsedMyName - has it been 6 weeks already!? My baby is feeding a lot at the moment and being a little fractious so has spent the last few days tucked in a skin to skin top or (like right now) in a stretchy wrap - it's the only way he will settle 🙈

Aww that's a lovely idea, yeah he was 6 weeks on Tuesday it flies by doesn't it he weighs 9.10 now ! X

Hey ladies hope you're all well! Just thought I'd put this question here...I'm a ftm mum and baby is now 4 weeks old. My midwife has said because of covid my 6 week postnatal and babies 8 week vaccinations tend to become 1 appointment...do I have to book the appointment or does it come through the post? No one has said and I don't see my HV until 6weeks so unsure who to ask...?

@LouiseT12 I have been told the same but have 6 week on Wednesday and havnt received letter of immunisations so I will just ask on Wednesday

@SnookyPook that’s amazing! I’m still waiting on our TT referral to go through - hopefully it gets sorted asap. LO latched into bare breast for the first time yesterday since day 3, so we’re slowly having some progress

@xsxsxsxs yes I’ve heard some places have much longer waiting lists - we’ve been very lucky! Hope you get something through soon. That’s great that you’re seeing some progress - the will to breastfeed is obviously there! Do you have much community support like breastfeeding support workers or anything? I have one who is ringing/video calling every few days and has been really helpful. She said best positions for TT babies are laid back feeding and rugby ball hold as these require less effort to latch and kind of get the nipple in more where it needs to be. That did seem to help a bit! Best of luck to you! X

@pigletpie2177 haha that's why that thread is so good. One thing a day is very manageable even if I just delete some photos and emails.

@WhoUsedMyName is the six week check done by the dr or hv do you know?

@LouiseT12 in Wales we get a letter for immunisations. Might be different in your area though.

@xsxsxsxs in case you are interested my friend went private for a tongue tie assessment and it cost £150 plus extra to have it cut. Not sure how much extra. It's revolutionised their breastfeeding as baby wasn't putting on weight regularly.

All good here. Baby doing well with feeding and likes to sleep a fair bit. Obviously this can change at any time! She's starting to her her personality now and I'm finding my feet.

@footprintsintheslow I'm really unsure they couldn't fit me in for 6weeks was told to call back then when I called back was told they would call me back they didn't! Then called again was told I'd be called Wednesday and they will tell me what time to come in 🤦🏼‍♀️I will update you on Wednesday lol
