So torn about putting this under pregnancy or parenting 🥴 I think we’re halfway there on deliveries - just a last push needed!

WhoUsedMyName · 04/02/2021 10:27

This fatty now weighs 9lb but he's been to hospital he has a floppy larynx has anyone had this with previous babies?

Hope everyone's ok! I'm still very sore from the section and hobbling around like an old woman, whilst whimpering about my rock boobs and grazed nipples, but totally in love 🥰

Toddler has been a bit up and down but mostly great. Lots of kisses for baby brother ❤️ we threw him a "big brother" party when we got home from hospital which went down well. Any other tips for dealing with sibling rivalry gratefully received ☺️

pigletpie2177 · 04/02/2021 10:54

@WhoUsedMyName I started my message ages ago and was distracted (standard) so crossed over sorry. I don't have direct experience but I'm sure one of the babies in my previous NCT class did. Happy to check what happened?x

ExhaustedMumofsix · 04/02/2021 11:39

Awww @WhoUsedMyName he's so cute!

@pigletpie2177 so glad to hear you're home and beginning the road to recovery, I hope it goes quick for you 😊

I'm still here and very pregnant cue very big sigh plus 5 days now and trying everything I can to shift her but she's not having it 🙄 no signs at all.

Seeing how many people I outlast on the February thread now! 😂

Take care of yourselves ladies 🥰

SunSparkle · 04/02/2021 13:30

@ExhaustedMumofsix I’m overdue too. 41 weeks today. Had a sweep yesterday and another one scheduled for tomorrow morning. Got the breast pump out today to try that to see if it brings anything on but nothing so far.

I’m supposed to be having a homebirth but that feels like it’s slipping away. Trying to keep positive :)

footprintsintheslow · 04/02/2021 18:59

@WhoUsedMyName what were the symptoms that you knew to get the larynx checked?

@pigletpie2177 have you tried Savoy cabbage for your rock boobs. It really works well.
The big brother party sounds super cute. We have a 2.9 year old and it can be hard going. She started to get up at 4:30am to see the new baby for a while but thank god that's gone for now.
We haven't had rivalry as such but we've had some challenging behaviours. My hv said she's trying to reassess her place in the pecking order. She's particularly awful to her dad so I think she's trying to get above him in the pecking order!!!

WhoUsedMyName · 04/02/2021 19:04

Thanks @pigletpie2177 @footprintsintheslow so basically since the day he was born he had a weird sound when he breathed mw in hosp told me it was mucus and it would pass, then mw at home kept saying it's trapped wind but I still wasn't happy the noise never goes away . He flares his nostrils and makes the breathing sound and uses muscles in his chest continuously so I spoke with HV she sent me to doctors who sent me to hospital, the doctor at the hospital told me this is what it is although barely checked him and said he will grow out of it . I'm feeling really unsure about it all

WhoUsedMyName · 04/02/2021 19:05

Thank you @ExhaustedMumofsix x

ExhaustedMumofsix · 05/02/2021 12:03

@SunSparkle aww I know exactly how you feel, it's tough staying positive isn't it 😔.
Good luck with the sweep today! I'm not even due my first one until Tuesday and I'll be ten days over by then. Fingers crossed they start something off for you and me and we're meeting our babies soon 🤞x

Lollipop93 · 05/02/2021 14:30

Awww it’s so lovely to see all our little babies being born after the weeks and months of sharing symptoms and scan pictures etc!! Makes me emotional!! I had terrible morning sickness and was so uncomfy in the end but I miss my bump and i miss the the excitement of being pregnant!! Is anyone else the same?? Maybe I’m just crazy haha.
My little one is nearly three weeks old now, it’s going too quick 😭

Good luck to those still waiting on their arrivals! xxx

footprintsintheslow · 06/02/2021 11:33

@Lollipop93 I agree I miss the pregnancy a bit and it was my last one so that's it for me. Love the baby to bits though.

I still feel I'm living a totally chaotic life at the moment with the toddler.

footprintsintheslow · 07/02/2021 09:09

Need to catch up on the thread but I saw this in the lidls magazine and thought I'd share as we have something similar and it's been wonderful.

January 2021 babies - the one where there actually are babies!!!
xsxsxsxs · 07/02/2021 18:11

Been incredibly busy with little bubba, haven’t been on the thread for days. A huge congratulations to everyone who’s had a baby since, and to everyone who’s still waiting, my hopes of it happening soon are with you.

I’m still recovering from the c-section, which isn’t helped by my little one throwing absolute fits and kneeing/kicking my scar everytime I try to put on her the boob - she wants breast milk but doesn’t want to work for it. They reckon she has tongue tie, so we’re waiting for an appointment to check that.

My tummy has gone back to what I’d say is 90% towards my pre-birth tummy; but I have a little pocket of tissue or fluid right above my scar - anyone else experience this?

SnookyPook · 07/02/2021 20:34

@xsxsxsxs I didn’t have a C-section so can’t help with that but my little one also has tongue-tie - we’re currently waiting for an appointment to have it snipped. It’s affecting Sebastian’s feeding - he initially lost quite a chunk of weight at his Day 3 check so we’re now having to top up feeds after he’s been on the boobs. Thankfully this worked and he put on 6oz in two days. Just hoping it’s not affecting my milk supply too much. I’m day 8pp and don’t think it’s come in properly yet, though definitely more than it was. Anyway, hope you get some support ASAP! X

pigletpie2177 · 07/02/2021 21:01

Hey @xsxsxsxs c section and tongue tie here 🙋🏼‍♀️ actually second time for both as it happens. I'm 7d pp now and don't think I have a fluid pocket and don't remember that last time - how many days pp are you? Midwife took my dressing off on Friday and said it looks good but I was quite sore last night around the incision. It's definitely been a tougher recovery this time.

My nipples are a mess. I've included a cartoon representation of their current state 🙈 trying to express and give him that in a bottle to give myself some respite. Getting it snipped Tuesday so hopefully that will help. Have they given you any indication @SnookyPook?x

xsxsxsxs · 07/02/2021 23:07

@pigletpie2177 @SnookyPook I managed to speak to a hospital recommended breastfeeding clinic who have referred us to the hospital for the snip - hopefully it gets dealt with quickly. Luckily she hadn’t lost too much weight and has now gained almost a pound since birth weight (day 18 pp). I’m also worried about my supply as I’m doing a combination of breastfeeding (when she doesn’t scream the place down), expressing and formula.

Midwife had me remove my dressing prior to leaving the hospital and was happy with how the scar was looking. Midwives since then have been happy with how the scar is healing and think it may just be a bit of fluid - it is getting smaller by the day

@pigletpie2177 have your tried using Lansinoh Lanolin on your nipples? Mine were cracked and even bled towards the end of week one and it helped massively

pigletpie2177 · 07/02/2021 23:32

I do have some lansinoh so need to remember to keep plastering that on. I've mostly been expressing a tiny bit of milk after a feed and leaving it on my nipple and trying to have them out as much as possible. My toddler is delighted and highly amused by the constant boobs ☺️

Fingers crossed you guys get sorted ASAP - it made a huge difference to me last time and I went from sobbing every feed to no pain after I healed - fed him to 2 yo x

WhoUsedMyName · 08/02/2021 08:28

Think I'm going to have to call it a day with bf ☹️ he just gets so agitated after five mins that the boobs can't give him milk quick enough the fatty!
Your poor sore boobs ladies I feel for you. @pigletpie2177 so funny that your toddler is loving your boobs out my teenager is highly disgusted 😂

xsxsxsxs · 08/02/2021 10:58

@pigletpie2177 that’s hilarious .. toddlers are the funniest characters! Hope your nips get better soon.

@WhoUsedMyName I’m sorry to hear you’re calling it a day, but a fed baby is the most important things. My LO gets frustrated as well at everything to do with the breast, she starts to scream before I’ve even tried to latch her on. I’m going to try and keep going until the tongue tie is sorted, wish me luck. At the moment I offer her the breast after a half feed of bottle during the day, sometimes she’ll take it for 5-10mibs, other times you’d think I’m torturing her

WhoUsedMyName · 08/02/2021 17:19

@xsxsxsxs how your getting on with tt is amazing makes me want to carry on.

pigletpie2177 · 08/02/2021 19:03

@WhoUsedMyName I was so sore and engorged a few days ago I was half tempted to ask the toddler to help out. He hasn't fed for 18 months and I was dreading him asking for it but I've been in agony. Fortunately they seem to have calmed down a bit now!

If you don't have it already @WhoUsedMyName download the wonder weeks app - it shows you all their "leaps" and im pretty sure that fussing on the boob is in leap one - it's definitely normal, if totally frustrating!

Bf hasn't been as sore for me today but I'm still going to the appointment tomorrow and will see what they say. I don't want to snip it unnecessarily but don't want to be cocky then regret it if it keeps hurting 🙈

footprintsintheslow · 08/02/2021 19:08

Re: nipples mine were horrific this time and I realise now it was the latch that was all wrong also baby and I had to relearn what to do. But now we've cracked it...no pun intended.

Breast milk was the best healer and also nipple shields completely saved my life and gave me respite so I didn't need to express. Good luck everyone.

oliveroses · 09/02/2021 00:01

@pigletpie2177 @xsxsxsxs @SnookyPook another tongue tie baby here! Have been in agony but we had it snipped last Monday. Almost gave up bf on Thursday but somehow it's started to come together, it doesn't hurt and he's latching, though I'm still expressing and topping up ... good luck!

WhoUsedMyName · 09/02/2021 07:29

Oh really @pigletpie2177 that's interesting I will have a look thanks x
