I'm having cramping now and tmi but can't stop trumping!!! I think it is just constipation and trapped wind rather than anything sinister.. I hope. 😔

unicornpower · 19/01/2021 07:39

Im still spotting brown which is worrying me slightly, im only 5 weeks tomorrow (got my dates wrong) so I cant even get a scan at EPU for another week. I keep telling myself that when I miscarried before it was red pretty much instantly but that doesn't mean this is all going to go well too I guess. I've got some tummy twinges but not cramps and they're twinges I have had on and off since last Monday when I got my positive Sad its just a minefield and im trying to just ride it out at the moment.

Hope everyone is okay?

CherylLW · 19/01/2021 08:38

Good Morning Ladies,

I hope you don’t mind me joining in? I’ve recently joined mumsnet and found this thread this morning!
I’m due 5th September 2021! I’m currently 7+2.
This is my second pregnancy, sadly I had a MMC with my first last October, my baby died at 7+2 (so today is a stressful day) and I didn’t find out until 11+4... so I’m analysing every symptom, lack of symptom and twinge everyday!

Ive read that a lot of twinges and cramps can be normal and sometimes nausea is easier some days than others depending on things like how tired you are.

Hope you are all doing ok??

Xx

Chica1990 · 19/01/2021 09:36

@unicornpower I’ve had some brown spotting and cramping today and it’s so stressful! How much have you had? I have an early scan on Friday when I hit 6 weeks and now I’m terrified.

Hopefully brown is ok and we don’t turn red 😩

unicornpower · 19/01/2021 09:57

@Chica1990 It was really light last week when i got my BFP and then tailed off but came back on Friday evening and has been on and off really since then, i had quite a bit of it yesterday evening and am just seeing how i go today! Its only when i wipe at the moment.

How much have you had? i hope its all okay! I have read that brown is okay and some women just get it for a number of reasons. Are you okay? Try not to worry ( i know its hard!) x

strangerontheinternet · 19/01/2021 09:59

Hey can I please join? I've just found out today I'm pregnant, nhs due date calculator says 30th sept. This will be my first and first pregnancy. I came off pill sept 2020 so about 4 cycles trying. Tbh I thought it would take a lot longer. I thought I'd be so happy but now I just feel mainly scared! 😩 anyone else?! X

Madeoftea · 19/01/2021 10:32

Hi ladies, congratulations to you all!

I got my BFP last Friday and I've spent the whole time since then so anxious! I had brown spotting and cramping for about 4 days so I'm a bit worried. Luckily the spotting seems to have stopped now but I still get occasional cramps, I'm hoping its normal. My tests haven't got any lighter so I'm thinking that's a good sign.

Has everyone contacted the gp or self-referred yet? (Whichever you have to do in your area). I feel like it's too soon.

@strangerontheinternet I feel the exact same. I wasn't prepared for how I would feel at all!

unicornpower · 19/01/2021 10:43

@madeoftea and @strangerontheinternet congratulations ladies! i hope your pregnancies are nice and smooth.

@madeoftea How far along are you? I dont want to self refer just yet due to still having some spotting so trying to just see what happens. most people seem to have spotting and all is okay, so hopefully thats the same for us too! have you had much of it? Its a very anxious time isnt it xxx

CherylLW · 19/01/2021 10:49

@Madeoftea I self referred to the maternity centre as I felt the gp surgeries have a lot going on with Covid at the moment.
For me I referred a few days after I found out because it starts the process and you can think of the booking appointment as a step in a very stressful but exciting journey.

I’ve had some brown mucus (sorry) which I was told was normal as it’s old blood leaving the body. I have crampy pain/twinges most days but I’ve been told that’s normal too. I worry if I feel the pains and I worry if I don’t!

Xxx

CherylLW · 19/01/2021 10:51

@strangerontheinternet it’s such a worrying time as we have no control do we. I worry most days as my first pregnancy ended in a MMC but I just need to tell myself I can’t change any outcome and I just need to look after myself.

Have you contacted your GP/Maternity Centre?

Xx

strangerontheinternet · 19/01/2021 10:58

No I haven't done anything yet as just found out this morning and I've not actually missed my period yet so waiting till I'd be due thurs or Friday to see if it progresses and trying not to get carried away yet. I just feel sick (like nervous sick) and I thought I'd be so happy and I am and I don't want to sound ungrateful but it's not what I thought I'd feel like, tbh I thought it would take us a lot longer and was thinking it would likely be later in the year till I fell! I guess I'm worried OH also feeling the same as we both thought it would take a lot longer! Xx

AdventuresAwait · 19/01/2021 11:20

Hi @strangerontheinternet, it also happened really quickly for us and I think I still cannot quite believe it and keep wondering when I'll really feel pregnant!

@Madeoftea, I just completed the self-referral form. I wasn't sure when to do it but it said from 6 weeks so decided to get it done. Not sure when I'll hear about a first appointment.

I'm thinking about booking an early scan for some reassurance.

CherylLW · 19/01/2021 11:28

@strangerontheinternet
That’s good to wait until you have a missed period. My test was positive before my period was due so I could except it until I did a test after I was late.

It’s understandable to feel worried, it’s such a scary time as it’s so unknown.

I guess if it feels like it’s happened very soon and you weren’t expecting it it must feel very daunting, everything happens when it’s supposed to tho :)

Xx

Madeoftea · 19/01/2021 11:28

@unicornpower so I was technically 5 weeks yesterday but I know that I'm really only 4 because I ovulate around day 21 of my cycles, so it's still super early.
It is such an anxious time! I didn't have too much spotting but it was very consistent over 4 days and only when I went to the loo. I need to stop googling though! 🙈 I have fingers and toes crossed for us, it does seem to be a normal thing so we can only wait and see I guess!

@CherylLW I think I have to go through gp where I am, I'm just scared I'm going to jinx it which seems silly. It's so hard to not worry in either case isn't it, my cramps are mainly when I move or change position. Do you have any other symptoms?

CherylLW · 19/01/2021 11:42

Hi @Madeoftea

I know what you mean about jinxing it, see how you feel. I knew when I contacted them I just had to wait for my booking appointment then so I knew there was nothing I needed to do apart from wait which was a bit easier for me.

Sometimes when I get up quick I have pains in my stomach or after I’ve had a wee.
I’ve got nausea, sore boobs and nips and I feel tired... but I always feel tired!
I didn’t really feel any symptoms apart from the cramps until about 6 weeks. I worry about not having major symptoms like sickness but have to remember everyone and every pregnancy is different.

Google is a nightmare! You ask one thing and get a range of answers! Xx

unicornpower · 19/01/2021 11:49

@Madeoftea I'm the same! I'm technically 5 weeks tomorrow but i ovulated early I'm sure of it and i got a 3+ on a digital on Sunday so my HCG must have risen quite a bit so who knows! Your spotting sounds just like mine so hopefully its normal, mine seems to be intermittent, like i had nothing really yesterday until the evening and it seems to have lessened now but will probably come back soon haha.

are you going to book an early scan?

Madeoftea · 19/01/2021 12:13

@unicornpower I would think that's got to be a good sign getting a 3+ already! I've got a weeks test to do next week to hopefully see it go up (I know they're not the most reliable though)

I probably will book an early scan, maybe for 7/8 weeks depending on how I feel and all being well. My partner isn't massively keen but I know that once you see a heartbeat the chances of miscarriage reduce quite a lot and it might reassure me. Are you thinking of an early scan too?

Has anyone told anyone other than their partner yet? I really want to tell my mum but she doesn't even know we were trying and I'm not sure if I should wait.

AdventuresAwait · 19/01/2021 12:22

@Madeoftea, we have told our parents and siblings. Find it difficult not to tell everybody but making ourselves wait!

Taybz · 19/01/2021 13:13

Hi everyone, congratulations on your BFPs!! I got mine last week and I'm still in disbelief. After trying for quite a while, it felt like it was never going to happen and just when we gave up, bham bfp! Smile

I'm over the moon but also terrified that something's going to happen - anyone else feel like this?

NHS calculator has my due date down as 18th Sept but other apps on 20th. My cycle's shorter so I reckon the NHS one is more accurate. Anyone due around this date? What are your symptoms so far?

AdventuresAwait · 19/01/2021 13:33

Hi @tabz, I'm due around the 15th! I'm feeling really tired, have sore boobs and nausea. Some cramps and twinges occasionally.

Congrats on your BFP!

Chica1990 · 19/01/2021 13:44

@unicornpower that’s promising that it’s only when you wipe. I had some spots of brown in my knickers but seems to have slowed down now hopefully. Let’s make a pact to not worry unless it’s red? 🙈

RadDarwazeh · 19/01/2021 14:23

Please can I join? Got my BFP this morning yay! I'm 32 and this will be my first 💕 hi to everyone

Madeoftea · 19/01/2021 14:36

I had a panic because I had quite a painful cramp on one side so I rang my EPU and they want to see me tomorrow 🤞
They said that where it's so early they probably won't be able to see anything yet but they want to check me anyway because they'd like to rule out an ectopic. Now I'm super nervous!

CherylLW · 19/01/2021 15:01

@Madeoftea keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes well tomorrow! It’s good that they have got you in so they can check you over and put your mind at rest xx

@RadDarwazeh
Congratulations! Hopefully everything will
Go smoothly for you 😊 xx

Taybz · 19/01/2021 15:04

@AdventuresAwait

Hi *@tabz*, I'm due around the 15th! I'm feeling really tired, have sore boobs and nausea. Some cramps and twinges occasionally.

Congrats on your BFP!

Thank you! I've got similar symptoms too except the nausea. I'm kind of wondering where it is but then I don't want it either haha
