Hey ladies,

Just thought it might be a nice idea for any of us first time mums just finding out to have a thread to chat on.

That sounds really promising, @unicornpower. When have you booked a scan for? Fingers crossed everything goes well. It's just such a horrible waiting game at the moment, isn't it?

unicornpower · 17/01/2021 10:31

@itssquidstella I havent yet as didnt want to jinx it, I will give it another week I think and then book for early Feb when all being well I should be 7 weeks, honestly its a different kind of torture isnt it! Im analysing every twinge, ache and its exhausting Grin

AdventuresAwait · 17/01/2021 10:52

Hi @Chica1990, it seems to be in the mornings for me. Has been for the last few days. Some days better than others!

Moominmiss · 17/01/2021 10:56

Hi,

I also got my bfp at 8dpo on Monday! I’m only 4 weeks today and got my clearblue 2-3 weeks 2 days ago at 12dpo. Absolutely certain of my dates as I temp using OvuSense and track with opk’s.
Hoping good strong tests early on means a strong healthy bean as ive had 4 mc in the last 12 months so praying this is finally it! 🤞🏻

AdventuresAwait · 17/01/2021 10:58

Can I ask, are early scans booked privately? Thanks.

unicornpower · 17/01/2021 11:02

@Moominmiss congratulations! So sorry about your previous losses, its so scary isnt It. Fingers crossed for you 🥰

@AdventuresAwait yeah there's lots of companies that do it, im looking at window to the womb but theres lots of others too!

AdventuresAwait · 17/01/2021 11:05

Thankyou @unicornpower, I will have a look Smile

Moominmiss · 17/01/2021 11:09

Thank you @unicornpower, it’s terrifying for sure and just how it’s all out of my control whatever happens now!

@beckyBP I will be booking a private early scan for between 7 and 8 weeks if I make it that far.

Even with my previous losses my EPU will only see you if you are experiencing pain and/or bleeding.

But for peace of mind the private scan will be worth it (hopefully)!

Moominmiss · 17/01/2021 11:10

Sorry meant to tag @AdventuresAwait in that last post, not you @beckyBP!

itssquidstella · 17/01/2021 11:13

Yeah my EPU won't see anyone until 8 weeks, regardless of history (my GP tried to get them to scan me because I’ve had two previous miscarriages) - and even then, you need to be bleeding or in severe pain. It's a bit rubbish, really!

ErrolFinn · 17/01/2021 12:17

Speaking of early scans, I think I do want to book one but I'm not sure when to book for. It needs to be a Saturday due to work so I can either book the 6th or 13th of Feb. On the 6th I will be 8 weeks but I think I ovulated late this month so probably a few days behind or I can wait to the 13th then I'll be 8-9 weeks. I know I'm probably going to see more on the later scan and the chances of miscarriage after seeing a heartbeat will be lower but it means having to wait another 4 weeks which is rubbish.
When is the most common time for early scans?

mamshi · 17/01/2021 13:02

Hello everyone! I'm very new here.. just found out 3 days ago. I'm 5+5! Can't believe little bubba is as tiny as a grain of rice! I hope everyone is doing well!

SallyGonzales · 17/01/2021 15:17

Hi All,

Would love to join this thread! Just found out yesterday after trying for 21 months and due to start IVF this summer. We think we're 4+2. Feeling excited and hugely nervous..

It's reassuring to read everyone else's experiences and feelings so far. Smile

ClaireAir · 17/01/2021 19:01

Hi everyone! I'm due on 19th September like a lot of people on here! I'm getting stomach pains and have been spotting blood so pretty freaked out. I don't have sore boobs or nausea yet... it's so hard to know what's normal with a first baby. I don't know what to expect and feel I need to do loads of reading and research. I've signed up with NHS midwife but don't have an appointment yet. I'm 37 so I think I'm classed as an elderly first time mum! I'm thinking of doing another pregnancy test just to check baby is still in there....

Bubbles1st · 17/01/2021 19:12

@ClaireAir

Hi
Congratulations, I'm currently due 13th sept. Lots of mums last week reassured me that 37 isn't old and we won't receive any different care or treated differently as a result. So I think I'm
Happy with that as I'm overweight and that will create enough concern.

unicornpower · 17/01/2021 19:26

@ClaireAir hey love, congratulations! How far along are you? I have been spotting brown for a while and saw a bit of pinky/red today too so I am terrified. I read earlier that its common to get spotting around the time your period is due so I wouldnt worry too much yet. Are you feeling okay? Try not to fret. Do another test if you think itll help! I did this morning and it did put my mind at rest (until the spotting continued that was!)

@Bubbles1st congratulations to you too and to all the other new BFPS! I hope you all have smooth pregnancies xx

ClaireAir · 17/01/2021 19:37

@Bubbles1st don't worry if they are concerned they will take extra good care of you. Thanks for reassuring me about the age thing!

bigsweetpotato · 17/01/2021 21:47

Hi all! Can I join too? First one for us, think I am 5+5 now and due around 13 Sep. Excited but also very nervous, I'm 38 and we've been trying for about a year. Got the usual boob pain and twinges/pulling feeling down there plus extra bloat and constipation... Started using my Fitbit again and my heart rate is quite high, anyone else have this?
Congrats to all xxx

ClaireAir · 17/01/2021 23:10

@bigsweetpotato I have all those symptoms! I'm not sure what my heart rate is but I feel my pulse racing so am sure it's beating faster. I read this is to pump the extra blood to the baby... And all the twinges are your muscles stretching already... Congratulations anyway. I finally got pregnant after using the CB ovulation sticks so would recommend them to anyone!

Kirky658 · 18/01/2021 09:33

Hey ladies, do you mind if I join? I'm 5wks1d and due about 18th Sept! We found out last Monday and told our parents yesterday. Just need some reassurance really, it's our first ever pregnancy so I'm terrified things are going to go badly. Doesn't help I have endometriosis and found out the chance of a MMC increases by 75 percent!!! I'm feeling VERY pregnant though. Absolutely exhausted, sore boobs, can't stop peeing. I am a runner and since I got my BFP I've had to slow right down just can't do it now! X

ClaireAir · 18/01/2021 10:23

Hi @Kirky658, Congratulations! I'm 5 weeks 2 days so really close! If you are exhausted that's a good sign you have lots of hormones in your bloodstream. I am having terrible insomnia lying awake half the night and worried I'm not getting enough rest.. It's terrifying with a first baby not knowing what to expect or what's normal.

unicornpower · 18/01/2021 11:01

@Kirky658 congratulations! Im 5 weeks! I woke up this morning feeling hungover and exhausted but was awake early as just couldn't switch back off! Do you get an early scan due to your endometriosis? Might be worth asking to reassure you!

unicornpower · 18/01/2021 11:05

@ErrolFinn not sure if it helps but I've been looking at window to the womb who recommend you are near 7 weeks if possible so I would think being 8 would be fine if you want to bring it forward? Im planning on going around 7 weeks i think x

Kirky658 · 18/01/2021 11:18

@ClaireAir yes very close 😊 yes I'm hopeful it's all good signs.
@unicornpower I'm not sure yet, I might do, I'm still waiting for the midwife to contact me to be honest haha I'll have to ask! Am considering a private scan with our local window to the womb for 7 weeks though 😊

AnitaB83 · 18/01/2021 13:10

@ErrolFinn and @unicornpower, I also booked an early scan with Window to the Womb on the 29th (I would be 7+1, I know that 8 weeks is better but.. well, it is booked already!).

Today I had a lot of cramping in the morning, I was very hungry as well. Other than this, no other symptoms. I hope this is fine:(

Have a lovely Monday all of you!:)
