Hey ladies,

Just thought it might be a nice idea for any of us first time mums just finding out to have a thread to chat on.

I found out Monday and am now 4+4.

I have just had my booking appt over the phone, lasted an hour! All about my medical history, hubby's, our parents... I have my blood tests next Monday and I have my 12 week scan on the 3rd March when I will be 11+3, sounds silly a bit nervous as its just before 12 weeks lol xx

AdventuresAwait · 08/02/2021 17:02

I haven't got my 12 week scan date yet! I'm 9+4 & had my booking appointment on Friday. It was almost 2 hours on the phone. Medical history for me, husband and family plus lots of questions etc. Blood and urine test tomorrow. But no scan date!

Sophia889 · 08/02/2021 18:23

@AdventuresAwait oh wow 2 hours is a long appointment! I didn't realise they asked you so many questions 🤯 I have mine on Thursday but it's a face to face app. Bet you can't wait to get that 12 week scan in, when will they book it for you? I have an early one on Saturday but will still only be 7+5 then and that's if my calculations are right! 😂

Sophia889 · 08/02/2021 18:24

@Kirky658 and doesn't sound silly at all, roll on the 3rd of March for you ☺️

AdventuresAwait · 08/02/2021 18:49

@Sophia889, I think it was partly as I had questions and my age/weight etc. She said it would be at least an hour but I didn't expect so long! But it actually passed very quickly.
Apparently, I should get a scan date in the post. I can't wait!

Exciting to have an early scan on Saturday! We had one and it was so lovely. We almost booked another at 10 weeks but we're going to wait for the 12 weeks scan.

Flower95 · 08/02/2021 20:22

Does anyone else have thigh cramping? Like upper thigh. It's making me feel sick!!!!

Sophia889 · 08/02/2021 20:44

@AdventuresAwait aww that's exciting too, I'd be straight on to checking the post as soon as it came every morning!

Yes well I'm being a panicky first timer and just want some reassurance everything is ok. I was actually wondering myself if I would want another scan as well before the 12 weeks 🙈 will probably do like you and hold off though as long as everything ok 🤞🏼

AdventuresAwait · 08/02/2021 20:52

I am a panicky first timer too @Sophia889! I don't know what to expect so over think everything. It is so exciting and so worrying all at once, isn't it?!

Sophia889 · 08/02/2021 21:09

@AdventuresAwait yup exactly that!! I'm glad I'm not the only one 🤣

Kirky658 · 08/02/2021 21:10

@adventuresawait @sophia889 I'm also the same! Gonna wait till 12 weeks now though, it's only 3 weeks away for me 😁

AdventuresAwait · 08/02/2021 21:39

Me too @Kirky658! I'm 9+4 today so not long, but just need a date!

Definitely not the only one @Sophia889! I am so glad we have this chat. It's so helpful.

Sophia889 · 08/02/2021 22:42

Not long to go then @Kirky658 ! It's going to be lovely when we all start hitting that 12 week marker ☺️

@AdventuresAwait totally agree, really pleased I've found this group so early on

Julia529 · 09/02/2021 08:00

Hi Ladies,
New girl over here 👋🏼 I found out I was pregnant a few weeks back and have read through your posts on here and can relate to so many of you! Not really had any nausea but did have cramps and wow by boobs are sore! I'm currently 7+5 and have our private scan booked for Saturday. I'm so excited to see baby and hopeful everything will be as it should be! 🤞🏼☺️

AdventuresAwait · 09/02/2021 08:38

Congratulations and welcome @Julia529! Exciting to have your scan on Saturday x

Rach921 · 09/02/2021 08:48

Hi ladies

This is my first post here ☺️ I am currently 7 + 4 with my first pregnancy.

For the last 2 weeks I’ve had awful nausea every day, I’m struggling to function with it. Spent many an evening in tears - I’m sure it’s just hormones. I feel very overwhelmed with it being my first pregnancy so it’s nice to find this thread and see lots of other people in similar positions and know I’m not alone. I had a viability scan on Sunday which was reassuring. Really hoping I start to feel a bit more normal soon!

unicornpower · 09/02/2021 08:52

Hey ladies, thank you for all the well wishes, im still in hospital at the moment but hopefully going home today, I can't fault the NHS they have been wonderful! They scanned me yesterday to check baby is okay but they only did abdominal and I have a retroverted uterus so that makes it hard as I'm only 8 weeks, she did say she could see the sac and the heartbeat though although i couldn't see a thing! The EPU have booked me a scan for tomorrow and hubby can come too so im hoping everything is okay. The doctor did an internal exam and she couldn't see a reason for the brownish discharge so I'm hoping its just one of those things.

Honestly though girls if you are struggling with sickness and are worried then please please get checked out, I had zero ketones in my urine on Wednesday and by Sunday I had 3 different types so I went downhill quickly!

I hope everyone is okay, I will catch up properly when I'm home and cosy xxx

Kirky658 · 09/02/2021 09:16

@julia529 hello! Welcome 😊
@unicornpower I'm so glad you are being looked after, good news about the discharge too. Ps I was also told last week I have a tilted uterus. Apparently it can make it harder to see early on but later in the pregnancy the pressure tilts it back! You take care xx

Highfalutinlootin · 09/02/2021 10:47

@unicornpower Just here to commiserate as a fellow HG sufferer. I am glad to hear you were able to go to the hospital and be seen. Do you feel better after some IV hydration? I'm not quite suicidal anymore now that I have medication, but I'm approaching 11 weeks with no improvement. :( Can only take things day by day.

Highfalutinlootin · 09/02/2021 10:49

@Rach921 The best advice I can give is not to struggle through the nausea if it's really severe. I got to the point where I truly wanted to end my pregnancy due to the nausea before I got medication, and that was a huge mistake. Just go ask for it right away.

Hopefulmummie · 09/02/2021 10:52

Scan this morning went well :) 8 weeks today baby measuring at 8+2 and good strong heartbeat. I'm delighted :)

unicornpower · 09/02/2021 10:53

@Highfalutinlootin I feel so much better now, I had 7 1000ml IV all in all I think and some food which although it didn't all stay down, it was more than it has been. I'm hopeful with the new meds and some fluid in me now I can get better at home. What meds are you on? I agree with you about asking for meds! Even if you think it's too early or it'll get better just ask for help as it's so miserable and dangerous for us! I hope my scan is okay tomorrow and baby is doing OK in there Smile

unicornpower · 09/02/2021 10:54

@Hopefulmummie I'm so delighted for you! What wonderful news 🥰

Hopefulmummie · 09/02/2021 11:01

@unicornpower thank you :) it brings so much relief. Hope your feeling good x

Kirky658 · 09/02/2021 11:32
