Hey ladies,

Just thought it might be a nice idea for any of us first time mums just finding out to have a thread to chat on.

I found out Monday and am now 4+4.

@AdventuresAwait @Kirky658 @unicornpower @Hopefulmummie thanks ladies! All went well, was so lovely seeing that little heartbeat on the screen ❤️

Kirky658 · 06/02/2021 16:37

@jay3004 I'm so glad it all went well ❤️ I had a little cry at mine, it was so so surreal!

I have to say I'm 8 weeks today and I actually genuinely feel really pregnant now. Can't describe it. I'm just so exhausted, my boobs are agony, and certain food (apples) make me want to throw up. Just trying to rest when I can, keep exercising and stay healthy. Saying that I just put a batch of homemade brownies in the oven hehe

Jay3004 · 06/02/2021 17:29

@Kirky658 that’s what I thought as well, it was so surreal!

I’m exactly the same, I feel pretty terrible. Last night I was alternating between sitting on the bathroom floor in front of the toilet and lying in bed crying cause I felt so rubbish. Then I feel guilty for not feeling really happy but it just gets you down doesn’t it? I’m off most foods at the moment, feel like I’m on the “beige” diet.

AdventuresAwait · 06/02/2021 18:15

Fantastic @Jay3004! Great news, very pleased for you x

Kirky658 · 06/02/2021 18:42

@jay3004 a billion percent. I'm very weepy and emotional at times as well but it's all part of it my mum tells me!

NommyChompers · 06/02/2021 18:44

Hi guys - sorry to those who are feeling really rubbish - I’ve got OH bringing me fresh ginger tea and toast every morning before getting out of bed which sounds extra but really helps I find!

Went for an 8 week scan as wanted the reassurance and the lady said all was fine except she was measuring baby at 7+2 and I was super careful with date tracking and ovulation testing and the like - should I be concerned?

Sophia889 · 06/02/2021 18:45

Hello everyone, I know this thread started a while ago but I'd like to join if that's ok? I discovered 2 weeks ago I was pregnant (unplanned) and from my calculations I'm due around the end of September! I will be a first time mum so very panicky about everything at the minute! X

Jay3004 · 06/02/2021 18:52

@NommyChompers I’m 7+2 according to dates but on my scan today baby is measuring at 6+4. The sonographer said it’s totally normal on an early scan and I’ll probably find it’s caught up by my 12 week one.

Jay3004 · 06/02/2021 18:53

@Kirky658 so am I. Last night I cried because a contestant on Masterchef got really nice feedback. My partner thinks I’ve lost it!

NommyChompers · 06/02/2021 19:12

@Jay3004 thanks that’s reassuring! Glad yours went well!

Welcome @Sophia889 - if panicking the best thing is to do some research so you feel more prepared! Just take some time to adjust to the idea :D

Sophia889 · 06/02/2021 19:44

@NommyChompers thank you! Yes I've started researching stuff but I seem to have an irrational fear that somethings going to go wrong! Like many on here i just want to get to 12 weeks so can relax a little bit. I have my first midwife appointment on Thursday and booked an early scan for next Saturday so that will be exciting Smile

Kirky658 · 06/02/2021 20:13

@sophia889 we've all been there for sure!! Now I've had my early scan I feel so much more reassured. Apparently once you see a heartbeat the mc risk drops to 2% so that's made me feel loads better. How far gone are you? I would say, try not to read too much online though. For me I have anxiety and read far too much at the beginning and worried myself stupid about my resting heart rate being really low, but the sonographer showed the baby's heartbeat racing away so showed I had nothing to worry about 😊

Sophia889 · 06/02/2021 20:52

@Kirky658 aww that's brilliant news, I'm glad it went well for you! Can imagine you're feeling much better. I think I'm 6+5 , how far gone are you? Yes I read that too, I just feel like I can't get too excited just yet incase something did go wrong. Maybe the scan will change that! And trying to go with the mindset what will be will be and worrying is not going to change anything, it's just hard! Haha

Kirky658 · 06/02/2021 21:33

@sophia889 I'm 8 weeks today actually 😊 yeah the scan will deffo help. Plus the lovely ladies on here know you're not alone!

Ps sorry I took a while to reply, usually pretty quick but I did my usual falling into a deep sleep on the sofa for an hour...oh pregnancy 😂

RadDarwazeh · 06/02/2021 22:05

@Kirky658 I have been napping on the sofa for 1-2 hours straight after dinner for the past week. You're not alone

Sophia889 · 06/02/2021 22:21

@Kirky658 oh no worries at all! I'm currently WFH and since Monday have gotten in to the habit of lunch time naps! The tiredness and nausea really hit this week.
Yes I'm so glad I've found this group, going to be so good to be able to talk to others going through similar Smile

Kirky658 · 07/02/2021 00:28

@raddarwazeh @sophia889 I am now wide awake and boiling hot. The joys 😂

ChrAmbaby · 07/02/2021 01:07

Insomnia seems to be a thing - I am 7+3 and can sleep at odd timings in the day but then at night once I wake up, I can't go back to sleep, just lay in bed for hours... the fatigue is real

@Jay3004 so glad to know your scan went well, mine's only in March so a while to go... waiting for the NHS one...

AdventuresAwait · 07/02/2021 01:41

@Kirky658 and @ChrAmbaby, awake here too! I am so tired in the day and have really been experiencing fatigue... & then can't sleep when I wake in the night!

Jay3004 · 07/02/2021 07:53

@Kirky658 @ChrAmbaby @AdventuresAwait the insomnia has been going on weeks for me. I’ve not slept passed 4am since I found out I was pregnant!

Kirky658 · 07/02/2021 08:06

@chrambaby @adventuresawait @jay3004 It is driving me crazy. Can't deal without my evening naps, but then I'm waking up to pee and can't get back to sleep. From 1230 to 130 awake this morning then wide awake from 0530. Stayed in bed till 7 then got up and did some jobs!

AdventuresAwait · 07/02/2021 08:19

@Kirky658, @ChrAmbaby and @Jay3004, I have had it for weeks too. I wake up go to the toilet at about 01.00 and am then wife awake. Very frustrating when feeling exhausted! x

Cons33 · 07/02/2021 09:47

Hi everyone, am currently 7+2 according to app and this is my first pregnancy after a year of trying!
I have only had sore breasts and a bit of fatigue but other than that no symptoms whatsoever... is this ok?
driving myself mad thinking something has gone wrong because everyone seems to be experiencing nausea etc as well as the apps I use telling me this would be normal...
I haven't experienced any pain or bleeding so hoping everything is ok but haven't got my booking appointment until Feb 24th and they book the scan from there.. feels like such a wait..
any other ladies with barely any symptoms??

unicornpower · 07/02/2021 15:28

Hey ladies, just thought id update you all, I was admitted to hospital today for hyperemisis and am currently on a drip and being kept in overnight! Its been an eventful few days but I called 111 after vomiting all day yesterday and I noticed some brown discharge too. They told me to go to A+E who admitted me 🤢 feeling quite low but rhe doctor couldn't see a reason for the discharge but ill ask to be scanned just for peace of mind- I hope everyone else is doing okay xxxx

Taybz · 07/02/2021 15:50

@unicornpower that sounds awful, so sorry you're going through this. My sister says brown discharge can be very normal throughout pregnancy as she's had it and has had several healthy babies. Are they going you scan you whilst in hospital or get you to come back after you're off the drip? Thinking of you and wish you the best xx
