Greats news for those who recently had scans congrats :) is anyone else feeling awful? I'm 6+1 and feel sick all day can hardly eat and today been sick several times. I'm WFH but basically lay on the floor or in bed yesterday and today. Does it get better?! 😷🤢

AnitaB83 · 05/02/2021 16:32

Hey!! yes, great to see your scans! I am very happy for you all:)!!!

@GWhiteley, about symptoms, I have to say that I do not have symptoms either (I am 8+1, or 7+3 according to scan). I think everybody reacts differently to HCG increases. Tomorrow I have my first booking appointment with my midwife and I will of course bring up. Will let you know!

Taybz · 05/02/2021 17:01

@GWhiteley at this stage it's so hard to say what's normal and what's not. More than likely, it's nothing. My own symptoms have been up and down and change all the time. I would say to call the midwife if you're really worried though.

Kirky658 · 05/02/2021 17:05

@gwhiteley if it helps, I'm 8 weeks tomorrow, and have gone from almost constant crampy squueezy pain to nothing over the last week. Normal for symptoms to wax and wane. If you are worried tho deffo ring the midwife x

Taybz · 05/02/2021 17:06

@strangerontheinternet last week when I was 6wks I felt absolutely horrific with all day nausea, dizziness and tiredness like I've never know before. I had to cry myself to sleep and wondered if it was going to last forever. This week luckily, the nausea hasn't been killing me as much and I've had a few good days. Hopefully this will be the case for you and the rest of us!

Hopefulmummie · 05/02/2021 17:11

Got my 12 week scan letter today. I'll be 11+2 at it. Has anyone else got theirs?

CherylLW · 05/02/2021 17:17

@Hopefulmummie I’ve got my letter, I’ll be 11+6... excited but also a bag of nerves!!

@GWhiteley If you’re worried I would definitely call the midwife. I have felt the same, for the past week or so I’ve not had many twinges or cramps at all and I was getting them a lot up until then. I’m 10 weeks today and also had a MMC last year so very cautious. X

AdventuresAwait · 05/02/2021 18:37

@Hopefulmummie, I had my booking appointment today and my midwife said she will now be contacting them and I'll get my scan letter soon. Think I feel more nervous since my appointment!

Hopefulmummie · 05/02/2021 18:46

@AdventuresAwait I live in NI and we don't have a booking appointment before our 12 week scan. It's all done at the scan x

Taybz · 05/02/2021 18:56

@Hopefulmummie I got mine this week when I had my booking appointment. I'll be bang on 12wks, can't wait! I'm surprised they don't do a booking appointment in NI. during mine, I had blood tests and carbon monoxide checks which they wanted to check before the 12wk scan.

Taybz · 05/02/2021 19:02

Is anyone else really excited about getting to the 12wk stage just so you can feel relieved of the fear of miscarriage? Just want this month to go quickly so I can get into the safer zone. I know I shouldn't be thinking about it, but there's always a niggling worry in the back of my mind. It took us a while to conceive this bubba and i can't imagine myself if anything went wrong which pray to God won't.

Kirky658 · 05/02/2021 19:08

@taybz I feel exactly the same! Feel like we can enjoy it a bit more once this bit is out of the way.

AdventuresAwait · 05/02/2021 19:19

@Hopefulmummie, wow I didn't realise! So do you have any contact with anyone before the 12 week scan?

@Taybz, yes cannot wait to get to 12 weeks. Think I'll relax a bit then!

Hopefulmummie · 05/02/2021 19:26

@AdventuresAwait no nothing! It's quite mad how long you wait until your seen. I had an early scan at 6 weeks because of previous ectopic and miscarriage but I wouldn't have wanted to wait so long. I know alot of women book private scans cause of this reason

AdventuresAwait · 05/02/2021 19:40

Yes @Hopefulmummie, I had one too. It felt too long to wait!

Dakin · 05/02/2021 21:29

@Hopefulmummie Thanks! I’m also NI and was wondering if I’d missed a booking appt because I only have 12 week scan booked, and that letter took weeks to come as well. Random system.

Hopefulmummie · 05/02/2021 23:39

@dakin yeah it seems a long time to wait for contact. I'm nearly 8 weeks and just got my letter today

Jay3004 · 06/02/2021 06:52

I’ve got my early scan at 12pm today, so nervous!

AdventuresAwait · 06/02/2021 06:57

That's exciting, @Jay3004! Hope all goes well x

Kirky658 · 06/02/2021 07:51

Good luck @jay3004 hope all goes well xx

Sillysocks998 · 06/02/2021 08:39

Morning Ladies, isn't time going so slow. I feel like I want to get to 12 weeks then 20 weeks. Trying to stay positive that nothing bad will happen but its so so hard. I don't feel excited about pregnancy and that doesn't feel right. Googling symptoms is the worst isn't it! I'm 6+6 and have sharp twinges just little ones in and around my vagina. Is this normal? To those are ahead of me? Saw my consultant today and he said I will have a high risk pregnancy and that I should have the covid vaccine. More of a preventative medicine than cure. He also gave me some antibiotics to have each night to prevent a water infection. I've not started them yet, I'm drinking 2.5 litres of water a day to try and prevent that. I've been reading everyone's progress, this group is really helpful. We've all got our worries haven't we, each pregnancy is different. Have a gorgeous weekend ladies. Xx

PS I bought some tummy cream, the bloated tummy is real! It's by mama mio. I bought it because its vegan and cruelty free and had good reviews. I'll let you know how I get on with it. 😊

unicornpower · 06/02/2021 09:26

Good luck @Jay3004 hope its all okay for you! Xxx

Hopefulmummie · 06/02/2021 09:57

Good luck @Jay3004

Has anyone one else took a test around 7/8 weeks (I know i shouldnt) and the line be lighter than it was previously? Makes me worry but I'm ready it can be normal

strangerontheinternet · 06/02/2021 15:45

@Taybz thank you that's reassuring I hope that's the case for me as I'm feeling sick and being sick all day and tired and today feeling dizzy and lightheaded probably from not being able to eat the last few days 🤢 hope it doesn't last long.
@Hopefulmummie I've seen on other threads apparently your HCG goes too high and the tests can't cope snd ive heard of people diluting their pee with water to test later on so I think it's normal and probably stay away from the tests for your sanity!

bluemagicalsky · 06/02/2021 16:01

Hi @strangerontheinternet I feel you. I haven't felt myself since the 6 week mark, I'm 8 weeks tomorrow. I'm sick a few times nearly everyday, dizzy, groggy and food is so difficult. Hot proper meals are a no go for me. I've been getting by on bread, cold sausage rolls, rich tea biscuits etc. I've had many a crys. Some days are slightly better than others but as whole, I'm finding it so so hard. I'm afraid I don't have much advice to help, I'm wearing travel bands, I'm not sure if they are helping but anything is worth a try. Getting out of the house for a tiny walk or sit in the garden for fresh air is good for me. I'm lucky to work from home, but even that is a huge struggle. I hope it passes quickly for you x
