Is around who's due in April 2021? How are you feeling?

I was in a thread on here in early pregnancy, dropped off when I joined the buddies Facebook group, I'm still in it but its not really for me.... I miss having a place to go to chat pregnancy though.

Another April person here, due 28th. I have my 20w scan on Weds 9th and I'm pretty nervous, despite having an NHS scan at 16w (due to midwife being concerned when she couldn't find a heartbeat). I have an anterior placenta and haven't knowingly felt movement yet, which doesn't help with my nerves.

I'm struggling badly with insomnia - no trouble falling asleep but wake up at least 8 times a night. I've taken to wedging myself in with pillows the last 2 nights and that has helped a bit (as a back sleeper).

Good luck to all of you with your various struggles!

Rh8781 · 02/12/2020 18:10

@Ickli I had massive anxiety about not feeling movement, it seemed as early as everybody else, but my midwife was hugely reassuring and said it’s pretty common for FTM to sometimes not feel movement until 22 weeks or more. Even now I think I should be feeling him more than I do (sometimes only once a day) but she said that’s probably just my ‘normal’ pattern emerging so I’m trying to be less anxious about it.

blodyn91 · 03/12/2020 11:28

@lckli My 16 midwife appointment was on the phone and she said she wouldn't listen to HB till 24 week! Have had a private scan so I have heard it, otherwise I'd still be waiting.

My OH felt him kicking last night for the first time, the look on his face 😍😍 adorable!

Also im 21W now, and I am hungryyy, all the time! Had my lunch at 11am today. Did go for an hour hill walk first thing this morning so had cocopops instead of usual porridge

Symptoms of baby boy

Ickli · 03/12/2020 11:43

Thanks @Rh8781 and @blodyn91.
And yes, I was a bit surprised when my midwife panicked at my 16w appointment and immediately called maternity triage (as I'd heard it was relatively common to not try to listen to heartbeat at 16w) - but I had a rough 1st trimester with threatened miscarriages and 5 heavy bleeds, so I think she's being cautious for me! Just hoping the final half is a bit smoother Wink

firsttimemomtobex · 03/12/2020 13:11

It took the midwife ages to find my heartbeat too think it's pretty normal at 16 weeks, she said it's like trying to find a bean in a swimming pool 😂 finally found it after around 10 minutes and a trip to the bathroom to empty my bladder! She did say she thought it was a boy because of how stubborn they were and she was right!

shelly000999 · 03/12/2020 18:02

Hello everyone, taking the plunge and joining in! Had my anomaly scan today, so terrified after 3 miscarriages and entering into unchartered territory but she is perfect! I am 20+1, due on 21 April. It still feels a bit unreal. Only thing was they said I had a low lying placenta but hopefully that will sort itself out.

clb8921 · 03/12/2020 18:20

@shelly000999 congratulations! I’m 20+2 today and have my anomaly scan tomorrow. I’m feeling really nervous - definitely couldn’t concentrate at work today!

BunsNPosies · 03/12/2020 18:49

Hello,
Would love to join if that's OK. I'm due 22nd April with my second baby. Had my 20 week scan on Tuesday and found out we're having another dd (have a 3 year old girl).
Bless him, my dh was really hoping for a boy, but he's coming to terms with just girls now.

Hows everyone finding pregnancy during covid times? X

Rh8781 · 03/12/2020 19:25

@BunsNPosies The hardest thing has been not seeing family (FTM and first grandchild for my parents who are older and shielding). It’s not how I imagined my first pregnancy would go but grateful we have a healthy baby boy growing!

BunsNPosies · 03/12/2020 19:34

Fully agree. This is my second but it feels so disconnected from family this pregnancy. I bore everyone to death with messages, but not quite the same.
Definitely lots to be grateful for. Working from home during worst morning sickness was a bonus too!

BoJingle · 03/12/2020 21:14

Second pregnancy here too and its odd. DP couldn't come to the 20 week scan and most of my friends and many family members, I've not seen since announcing i was pregnant!

I'm struggling this week. Work is overwhelmingly busy and I have no support. DP is working another job so is always out, meaning I'm doing everything with my DC, all the running around and the housework and I'm honestly just a bit drained. Sorry for the moaning

There's lots of scans coming up tomorrow I think. Are you all hoping to find out the sex?

OP posts:
BunsNPosies · 04/12/2020 07:47

@BoJingle don't worry about having an offload, it's definitely needed sometimes. It sounds like you're snowed under! Have you got some time off coming up so you can have a bit of rest (easier said than done I know)?

I always thought I'd have a surprise, but just couldn't help myself in finding out Smile

BaaHumbugg · 04/12/2020 12:41

I have a 20 week scan next week, already found out the gender/sex early though, I hope it's correct otherwise it was a waste of money Grin

BaaHumbugg · 04/12/2020 12:42

I actually prefer being pregnant at this time as you don't have to go anywhere or do anything so can get away with being antisocial!

BunsNPosies · 04/12/2020 13:02

Ha, id not thought of it that way, but so true 😆

BoJingle · 04/12/2020 13:26

@BunsNPosies I finish on 23rd and am off until the 4th so im really looking forward to that!

@BaaHumbugg I still have to go to the office and do childcare runs so my day to day doesn't feel hugely different

UnicornAndSparkles · 04/12/2020 14:34

Hello ladies. Im due on 27th April but will be booked in for a c section on 20th April. 20 wk scan next Friday :)

UnicornAndSparkles · 04/12/2020 14:36

Also a second pregnancy, DD is 3 yo.

And also havent seen hardly anyone since becoming pregnant, thanks covid! Becoming a bit of a hermit tbh. Plus I'm in tier 3 so can't really do much anyway. My parents have my daughter for half a day a week so I see them for a socially distanced drop off and pick up, but only for a moment and its hardly the same as last time.

BoJingle · 06/12/2020 10:28

How is everyone feeling this weekend? I'm nearly 22 weeks already, time is flying!

OP posts:
Funkypolar · 06/12/2020 11:03

21 weeks here, first and last pregnancy as I’ve had HG! Counting down the weeks to maternity leave, can’t be bothered with work.

PinkRoses20 · 06/12/2020 11:12

23 weeks 😊 it definitely is flying! Starting to panic that once Christmas etc is over i will realise how unorganised i am 😂

BaaHumbugg · 06/12/2020 11:17

20 weeks here, agree it's going really fast. After Christmas it will just fly by Confused

I don't think I will accept it's happening until the week before or something Grin

MinnieWebs · 06/12/2020 11:41

Nearly 23 weeks and can’t believe how fast it’s going!

Has anyone started to think about maternity leave and when you want it to start?

firsttimemomtobex · 06/12/2020 12:32

20 weeks yesterday and can't believe how fast it's going! Planning to decorate the majority of the nursery this week so it's done and out the way before I get too fat to do anything 😂

Maternity leave I'm not planning on starting until the end of March unless I get really uncomfortable though!
