@Asianchick6693 I really can't remember how long it took to clear with my daughter. My little boy though is 3 weeks and it's only just started, just came from nowhere and we haven't used anything on his face. It looks even worse after he's had a crying fit 🤦🏼‍♀️

Merry Christnas everyone! I don't get chance to get online much so I'm sure I've missed lots but hope you all had a wonderful day with your newest additions to the family. My little boy was spoilt rotten by my family, he got so many gifts! Just hoping he gives me the gift of a good nights sleep tonight!

Is anyone else struggling with breastfeeding? My nipples are killing me. When the midwife and HCV have checked my latch they've said it can be improved and I improve it at the time but then when it comes to BF later on in the day I can't get her to latch properly again.

Had a day off BF yesterday and just expressed her meals but wondering if anyone has any advice please?

Are you making sure that it’s a deep latch. My sister told me squash it up like a burger 🤣you don’t just want the nipple in there you want the whole areola. are you using cream, when mine were sore at the beginning I would put Lansinoh cream on before bf as midwife recommended that helped until they toughened up.. @danielasummer

Left side went beyond repair for me so I have stopped on that side. But agree with @babyhope98 about the burger...do a c shape with thumb on top rest of fingers under a squish up like a burger. I don't always get the chin to touch before she gets the nipple in as her little mouth is so small... But burger.... when baby opens wide, Aim nipple to top of mouth... Then the bottom lip will go around the areola under the nipple and "push" baby on. X

Afternoon all how was ur Christmas mone was actually chilled so my lo must be having a little growth spurt as all his newborn now small so onto the next size we gave in last night aswell lo is constantly feeding which I'm starting to think he might need the hungry baby milk but wasnt settling last night after his bottle like he wanted more so we gave him a dummy and he slept straight away and for 4 1/2 hours so I think he needs a comforter even though I really dont do dummies I am gonna try and persevere and not give him a dummy but me and the oh where completely knackered and had nothing left last night

@Babyhope98 I have tried the burger squish but my nipples are just super sore, I'm scared to try again. Expressing has been a good compromise yesterday and today so tomorrow I might give the breast another go. Thank you for the tip though, maybe I wasn't squishing them enough? Will also try the cream too. Thank you!

@Jwl45 Thank you so much. It's good to know I'm not the only one suffering from sore nipples but sorry to hear you have too!
