@MaverickDanger thankyou ! Currently feeding her, how are you doing ?

kkr168 · 24/12/2020 01:47

Looks like it's my little ones turn to be a pain tonight, he's been wide awake for 4 hours!! If you dare put him down he screams, DH has taken over now because I'm exhausted, I bet he'll go straight to sleep now!

alphabetti · 24/12/2020 02:36

I too had been wondering if there’s certain foods to avoid when breastfeeding to unit the wind baby gets. My baby girl 3werks now and gets so windy! Think that it’s mainly caused by how she gulps the milk.

Been feeling good as been in sort of routine with things and baby’s sleeping at night been getting better. I’ve been allowing my partners mum and step dad to come see baby as feel bad as my mum can form a bubble with us. Anyway they came over with partners 6yr DS for the afternoon and house erupted into chaos!!! Step son I understand he gets excited about seeing his dad and adjusting to having a baby here but he was wild and high as a kite!! Baby got unsettled due to the noise and was windy too so kept wanting to feed from me then just lie on me. Partners mum text me afterwards saying she devastated she didn’t get a photo with baby as she was desperate for one!! I’ve never felt so worn out in these last 3 weeks! Partners mum has said she’s gonna come round at some point today (Christmas eve) so she can see baby again and we have step son until 12. I feel bad but cannot wait until 12 for our quiet Christmas to begin and seriously considering closing curtains and pretending we’ve gone out!!

On the positive though health visitor came and weighed baby and she’s now 7lb14oz which she says great growth for breastfed baby as she was born 7lb3oz. I have enjoyed feeding her but there’s times when she cluster feeds and I feel like giving up but knowing there’s good growth def makes me want to continue.

MaverickDanger · 24/12/2020 07:55

@viixie not too bad, 41+2 today. Got a midwife appointment later but think I’m going to refuse a sweep as it was so uncomfortable last time & im at the point now that he can just come when he wants!

I’m due to be induced now on Sunday so there is a light at the end of the tunnel at least!

sandrastillstuffed · 24/12/2020 10:07

good luck to the ones that will be cuddling with their babies soon ♥♥

I think I read here long ago about post partum night sweats, baby is 10 days old and I think I've been having them since I am back home. Can any of you who had them tell me how long they last? I feel very cold and dirty every morning Sad

chubbyhotchoc · 24/12/2020 12:16

@sandrastillstuffed I didn't have sweats but I think your body gets rid of water retention in different ways. You must be sweating it out. I peed it out. I had horrendous swelling that was still around post birth. For a good two weeks I had unquenchable thirst and was literally downing gallons of water and peeing constantly. Upside was I lost 25 lbs.

Kj1010 · 24/12/2020 13:08

Has anyone suffered from icky belly since birth really sorry for the tmi but since beginning this week after what I've noticed having a few alcoholic drinks I've had a mix of loose no 2 again sorry for the tmi but I'm a bloody worrier and even though I've probably answered my own question there just wondering if anyone else has had it wether its through alcohol or food etc

chubbyhotchoc · 24/12/2020 13:21

@Kj1010 yep had that as well lol. If you've got an episiotomy you'll need to shower your bits after going each time

Kj1010 · 24/12/2020 13:24

@chubbyhotchoc a episiotomy sorry what is that

Kj1010 · 24/12/2020 13:26

@chubbyhotchoc just googled no I didn't have that had a csection but I use wet wipes to clean at moment but thankyou for the reply and that I'm not the only one that's having it x

chubbyhotchoc · 24/12/2020 13:31

I think your body just has a bit of a clear out after birth plus your uterus will be contracting still and that puts pressure on your bowels.

NaomiB79 · 24/12/2020 18:38

Happy Christmas all! Thanks for all of the chat, support and advice this group had provided this year, it really has been a massive help to me, you are all amazing! Xx

All I want for Christmas is a full night's sleep! 🤣🤣

Jellycat2020 · 24/12/2020 19:09

@NaomiB79 thanks for the information 😊 I have good days when I feel I'm on top of it all, then some horrible days (like yesterday) when I just feel like crying all day and just sitting on the sofa. I know my 2 main reasons for being down are missing our 'old' life, and the guilt around not being able to breastfeed so that's why I thought talking things through might help. Overall, I now think I have more good, or at least OK, days than sad days so hopefully things are improving?

Kj1010 · 24/12/2020 19:44

Merry Christmas all new mummies what a even more special day for us all with our babies sorry for the mummies still waiting but should still be a good Christmas for use aswell xx

Jwl45 · 24/12/2020 19:58

Merry Christmas to you all. Enjoy with your beautiful babies. Good luck to all who are nearly there ....I wonder if one of you will have a Xmas day baby? How exciting .
🎅🌲🎅🎄🎅🎄

MaverickDanger · 24/12/2020 20:43

Merry Christmas all! Enjoy your cuddles!

I’m hoping this one gives me a couple of days grace now and decides to wait till Sunday to be born.

peachypetite · 25/12/2020 04:38

@NaomiB79 @Jellycat2020 hope you ladies are okay. I think it’s way more common than people realise to be down after the baby has been born! I’ve been so much better this week but the last couple her colic was driving me crazy and I definitely had some really bad days.

Candoolili · 25/12/2020 07:56

Merry Christmas ladies, I gave birth to a little boy, 8 lbs 13 oz in the wee hours of Christmas Eve. I knew something had been off the previous night and it gradually built into contractions. He seems to be doing well. Cx

sandrastillstuffed · 25/12/2020 09:11

@chubbyhotchoc thanks, I also think it is my body getting rid of water, I am basically back at the prepregnancy weight 10 days after birth, good news at least!

@Kj1010 I also have loose nr 2 after eating/drinking, either once a day or every two days, I hope we go slowly back to normal!

@Candoolili huge congratulations!! enjoy the cuddles ♥♥♥

and merry Christmas to you all!

Nic2908 · 25/12/2020 10:14

I too am 6 days post c section and came on here too ask about poop haha. Its always loose, but yesterday and today I've started vomiting? Anyone think that's normal or had anything similar?

kkr168 · 25/12/2020 10:31

Look at my little Santa! 🥰
Merry Christmas everyone, hope you all have a great day with you babies & loved ones.

@Candoolili Congratulations x

Asianchick6693 · 25/12/2020 20:53

@kkr168 aww how adorable! Merry Christmas everyone.

How is everyone's Christmas? Things are going well with my and my little girl. However, she seems to have a case of really bad baby acne. I miss her soft skin and can't help but feel guilty. Hoping it clears up really soon. Her colic seems to have gone so much better. Everything seems to be falling into place.

Now that I've gotten the hang of being a mother, I've managed to have time to focus on myself and after looking in the mirror, I'm really hating my post partum body. My belly is sagging and I still look about 5/6 months pregnant :( it looks awful. It's early days and I know I won't just bounce back but I wish I could feel better about myself! Has anyone else felt the same? I love my girl and wouldn't change anything just wish I had confidence with my body. Right now I can't ever seem to imagine being intimate with my husband ever again. Sounds ridiculous I know!! We've both just been so focused on our girl. I just feel like that was the past and this is our life now! Will the relationship ever go back to how it was?

lc86 · 25/12/2020 21:56

@Asianchick6693 I'm really regretting the way I ate during pregnancy, still have 2 stone to lose and nothing fits me etc. My little boy also has acne, was hoping we had escaped it as he is 3 weeks old now but it started a few days ago 😔 my dd also had it and I don't think there was anything that helped clear it up xx

Asianchick6693 · 25/12/2020 22:02

@lc86 same here and it doesn't help that breastfeeding makes me hungry all the time!

My little girl's acne looks really bad right now. I feel sorry for her eventhough I know it causes no discomfort. Just looks so sore! Hope it clears soon. It started at 2 weeks and she's 5 now, it's getting worse every day. Was it the same for you? How long did it take to clear up? X

Snowwhite2020 · 25/12/2020 22:19

Merry Xmas everyone! Hope you all got enough rest last night to enjoy today!

@Candoolili congrats! Enjoy!

@Nic2908 I don’t think that sounds normal re: vomiting. If you are feeling shivery also or have a fever you might have an infection. I would check in with a doctor. I had a c section and was not sick... I’m just wondering if it could be the pain medication depending on what you are on? Either way I’d check in with GP. You don’t want to miss an infection.
