Just marking a place

EithneBlue · 27/11/2020 09:54

Ahh congratulations @excitednerves! :-)

@LRHRN - I think this can happen and be normal (I'm sure one of my friends said she had terrible post birth night sweats) but definitely get checked: always better to be safe :-)

jalu47 · 27/11/2020 10:30

Congratulations @excitednerves!

I'm back in the unit for the 4th time in 2 weeks getting my liver checked because of the itching. ALT still rising so waiting on the doctor, not sure what's next. 37+5 today so induction next week is looking more likely.

Kj1010 · 27/11/2020 10:31

Juat found new chat congrats @excitednerves defo get checked out @LRHRN had horrible period pains last night that woke me at same time as needing a pee took awhile to get back to sleep tbh so am tired and cranky this morning I am so ready for this one to be born now 37+5 today but not long to go 10 days

peachypetite · 27/11/2020 10:50

Congrats @excitednerves!!!

kkr168 · 27/11/2020 10:51

Ok so when I said previously that people asking if I've had the baby yet didn't annoy me, I've now changed my mind. It's been a constant barrage every day from the same people, the most annoying thing is they are people I would tell straight away if something was happening! I will never ask another pregnant woman "any signs yet" ever again 🤣

peachypetite · 27/11/2020 10:55

@kkr168 I’m so glad my baby came early. Only had a few comments and it was already driving me mental.

LRHRN · 27/11/2020 11:16

@excitednerves congratulations I absolutely love her name ❤️ so happy you didn't have to have the induction, it's like she knew xx

Hopefully we have some more baby news today.

I've got the midwife coming today to check me and Nora over as she's still jaundice and has lost a little bit of weight xx

roro87 · 27/11/2020 11:36

@excitednerves congratulations enjoy your tea and toast. And of course your new baby girl.

I'm due 1st December baby boy FTM.

Was in hospital overnight on Wednesday with high blood pressure but it stabilised. they were going to induce but cervix wasn't favourable and bp wasn't bad enough to warrant a section. After one night there I wouldn't want the extra stay of a section (everyone was lovely, care was great just couldn't sleep and way too hot). going to repack my hospital bag with lighter pjs. Sweep on Tuesday and a plan being made when I arrived at hospital baby was 4/5 engaged leaving was 2/5 so hopefully the sweep will do it.

Babyhope98 · 27/11/2020 11:37

I’m having my induction tomorrow because of my ALTs it is my due date then though. Can’t wait now I had enough of those blood tests been having them since 22 weeks 😖 @jalu47

LRHRN · 27/11/2020 12:28

@Babyhope98 good luck for tomorrow I bet you've got so many mixed emotions. I did the day before my induction.
Nora is 6days old today and it honestly feels like a lifetime ago.
As soon as you've got your beautiful baby in your arms everything just goes away.
It's the best feeling ever ❤️

Congratulations @excitednerves!
I'm getting fed up now... 37 weeks and feel like a whale. Im booked in for a home birth this time. Its my 3rd baby and had very fast deliveries previously. Im just so nervous if my husband has to deliver baby!!!

Babyhope98 · 27/11/2020 13:26

Aww she is so beautiful, her name is so cute too 🥰 I don’t think it’s quite sunk in yet, I’ve been wishing this day will come quickly for ages now and now it’s here I’m a bit scared of how’s it’s going to be and how I’ll feel when I meet her finally I just can’t imagine it 😄 Hoping she’s ready to come out so I don’t have a long induction I know from my sister it’s quite intense x @LRHRN

I’ve had it all this week! I’m also getting - ‘Have you tried this’, ‘have you tried that’?

I have literally tried EVERYTHING-do they think I’m just sat on my arse all day waiting for something to happen?

PipTed · 27/11/2020 13:34

Aww @LRHRN - lovely pic ❤️

PipTed · 27/11/2020 13:38

@peachypetite thanks for the info about expressing - I have an electric one too and have been using it for harvesting colostrum. But just thought the Haaka looked an odd contraption-but makes sense for the let down.

Hope your breast feeding experience is improving as the days go by - they really do sell it that it’s easy and baby knows exactly what to do. Not a great way to manage expectations. X

Nic2908 · 27/11/2020 14:15

@excitednerves congratulations!!!

Amyyy1 · 27/11/2020 14:50

@excitednerves Congratulations, glad it went well! 😁

@LRHRN 😍😍

jalu47 · 27/11/2020 14:51

I've finally decided to book an induction date - Dec 10th, so only 3 days early. Seeing midwife on 3rd and will try a sweep but not convinced it will do anything. I'm still on the fence and borderline with so many 'complications' of mild GD, maybe cholestatis, Crohn's in the background and a big baby it feels right not to go over but I do feel like i'm compromising my chances of a good birth experience. REALLY hoping baby decides to come on his own before then and the choice will be his!

Hatepickinganame · 27/11/2020 15:06

Hey, super late to this party but wondering if I can join you all? Due in 2 weeks, feels like ages away! Hope you're all well and congrats to all the ladies that have already had their babies ❤

Kj1010 · 27/11/2020 15:11

@jalu47 ah 3 days after my little one will be born so we still near eachother lol and at least u no a date things will get started @Hatepickinganame welcome to the group

peachypetite · 27/11/2020 15:27

@PipTed I was advised colostrum could only be done by hand and it took me FOREVER but I’m so glad she had it. Baby has latched a couple ofttimes but no way would she be getting enough milk so I’m glad we are doing formula, pumped breast milk mixed - today she’s had more breast milk than formula and even if I can’t keep pumping forever I’ll give it my best shot for now and motivated to continue so at least I feel she has had some of my natural goodness! I’m feeling a lot more relaxed about it now the awful day four hormones have stabilised.

sandrastillstuffed · 27/11/2020 15:28

Another newbie here, just read the post by @Hatepickinganame and after being reading the thread for a couple of weeks I thought I could join you :)

I am also due in 2 weeks (and FTM) and hoping the baby boy will do an early appearance this weekend, this last stretch is feeling sooo long!

congrats to all moms that can already cuddle their soft babies

sandrastillstuffed · 27/11/2020 15:41

One question: can Braxton-Hicks be regular? how did you know it was the real thing?
Tuesday night I had 3h of contractions every 3 min, I called the midwifery team and they said it sounded like early labor and that I should call again when things get more intense. I finally managed to fall asleep and next morning they were gone.
I feel like my lady bits stretched out significantly since then, can that be or am I imagining things Blush? I spent Tuesday night repeating my partner that probably I was making up the contractions and convincing my brain I was having them Confused

lc86 · 27/11/2020 15:46

@PipTed I've been using the Hakaa for harvesting colostrum, get a ml each time and do it just while watching tv 🙊
