Fancy keeping me company? How are you doing?

Was my due date today, from my ovulation date I actually think it's more like this weekend though tbh.

Not feeling too bad tbh pretty relaxed about it all this time round except the excessive texts and phone calls from people since last week "any sign of baby yet?" - fuck off!!!

Have my essential oil diffuser on with lavender and clary sage and just waiting for my dh to come and give me a foot rub.

Sending labour vibes to everyone due now.

Hi! Hope you’re keeping wellStar My due date is Sunday (29th Nov). My daughter is 16 months and was 13 days early, so it’s come as a bit of a surprise that I’m still pregnant! I suppose I just thought this baby might be early too.

I’ve also been using clary sage oil (from 39 weeks) in the bath, and mixed with sweet almond oil then have used it on acupressure points and on my bump! Nothing yet though.. some mild period cramps here and there but nothing consistent! Hopefully he/she makes an appearance soon as I’m keen to avoid induction! What’s your thoughts on being induced?

40weekswithno2 · 25/11/2020 23:40

I'd accept an induction if it was looking like I'd go over 42 weeks as there are real risks to the baby at that point I think. I'd rather not have one though and tbh I don't see why I'll need one, I've gone into labour with no induction before so I'm sure it will be the same again this time.

Hopefully we both have our babies before next week. My older child is 4yo and he's desperate to meet his baby brother now .

OP posts:
MummytoMatildaX · 25/11/2020 23:44

Yes, I’m exactly the same. I am hoping to avoid induction, and I’m not so keen on the idea of a sweep either. My midwife has said an induction is normally booked for 12 days overdue, which I would then accept but really hoping baby is here before then!

How are you feeling? Any signs? Do you have a name picked for your baby boy?Star

MummytoMatildaX · 25/11/2020 23:47

PS I know I’ve just asked if you have any signs and you’ve been sent all the texts etc asking the same, sorryBlush I just wondered if you have any signs as it’s your second too, and I feel like I’ve had period cramps etc and lots of pressure then just nothing?! First time round, I literally had no signs at all, just contractions out of nowhere then that was that!! This time I’ve thought, could this be it.. but nothing!

40weekswithno2 · 25/11/2020 23:52

I've felt like he's popped in and out of my pelvis a few times and I've had diarrhea a couple of times this week but that's it really.
With my first I had no signs until very bad diarrhea followed by period cramps that then progressed straight into labour.

Baby is very likely to be here by 40+12 so don't worry Smile
Struggling with a name, I think we'll have to meet him first.
Do you know if you're having a boy or a girl?

OP posts:
addler · 26/11/2020 00:23

I'm the other way around to you, scan due date has me due on Saturday by my period dates had me due on Tuesday.

No signs whatsoever, no Braxton Hicks, no signs of part of my mucus plug, still running up the two flights of stairs to our flat and sleeping fine.

I wouldn't mind going all the way to 42 weeks but my twin is leaving the country at 41+2 and with covid I don't know when I'll next see her, so would ideally like baby here before that

MummytoMatildaX · 26/11/2020 00:45

I really hope so @40weekswithno2Star I’ll keep my fingers crossed! Hopefully that’s your first sign then, not long now I’m sure. How are you feeling about being in hospital with everything that’s going on right now? I’m in Scotland, my midwife actually text a couple of days ago as our area has gone into tier 4 (lockdown), but things haven’t really changed, it’s not worrying me, I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that I’ll be in and out as soon as possible again. We don’t know whether we’re having a boy or girl, another little surprise. All the same symptoms as last time, but could still be different??

How are you feeling @addler? Hopefully your baby is here soon and your twin can meet him/her! The only signs I’ve had are some period cramps and have had some pressure but nothing else.. trying to stay as active as possible, and I’m actually more comfortable when standing/on the go. Lots of sleepless nights!

40weekswithno2 · 26/11/2020 08:01

@addler I hope you have the baby before your twin goes! 🤞🏻

@MummytoMatildaX I'm level 4 Scotland too, feeling ok about hospital just hope I'm out quickly as ds won't be allowed to visit and I know he'll be desperate to see us.

Not much sleep going on here but I don't feel too bad tbh.

MummytoMatildaX · 26/11/2020 13:52

Oh really! Which hospital are you giving birth in @40weekswithno2? I’m hoping the same. My midwife has said I’ll be out quickly as long as everything goes ok, and as long as it’s not too late at night. Fingers crossed! Feeling cramps today again, I still don’t want to get my hopes up as this has happened a couple of times and they fade away to nothing. Different the first time round, contractions just started out of nowhere, and I had no other signs before then so I knew right away what was happening!

40weekswithno2 · 26/11/2020 13:56

@MummytoMatildaX QEUH, where are you?

That's good you're having cramps, your body is getting ready! I think I might see if DH fancies some sex tonight 🤣 might work!

OP posts:
addler · 26/11/2020 15:35

I'm feeling good physically, almost too good?! Doesn't feel like I'm about to go into labour anytime soon. Mentally I'm so bored and everybody keeps saying to enjoy this quiet time at home but I lost my job when I got pregnant and couldn't get another one due to covid so I've had far too much time at home on my own as it is.

We're planning a home birth so just have to wait now and hope things get going soon!

MummytoMatildaX · 26/11/2020 17:28

We’re at Wishaw @40weekswithno2Star We had a water birth there with our daughter last year, so hoping for the same again! I’m actually having regular contractions now and have had a show. Haven’t made any contact with a midwife yet, but will give them a call soon as I think I’ll definitely be in before the nights out. LOL well let me know how things go, hopefully it works! They do say it’s the best way to get things going.. Can’t say I tried it, I just stuck to clary sage oil. Think I would rather have had the induction LOL!!!

addler · 26/11/2020 18:08

How exciting @MummytoMatildaX! Good luck! Do come back and let us know how you get on

40weekswithno2 · 26/11/2020 19:08

@MummytoMatildaX how exciting!! Hope all goes smoothly tonight. How far apart are your contractions?

OP posts:
MummytoMatildaX · 26/11/2020 20:52

Thanks a lot!Star Right now they’re between 4 and 5 mins apart @40weekswithno2, they’re uncomfortable but I can breathe through them, definitely not unbearable. They were much stronger before I went to hospital last time, and i wasn’t timing them in the end as they were so close. Matilda was born an hour and 50 minutes after arriving in hospital. I’ve called the midwife to let them know I’m in labour just to give them the heads upStar

40weekswithno2 · 26/11/2020 21:26

Sounds like baby will be born in pretty soon! I've just gone on a bit of a mad cleaning spree, going to go to bed soon. Hoping I go into labour early in the morning!

Pukeymama · 26/11/2020 21:54

Hi, hoping I can jump on this thread too, I was also due yesterday with my second. Lost some plug today so hoping things kick off soon but not holding my breath just yet.

Good luck @mummytomatildaX, hope things progress well for you!

MummytoMatildaX · 26/11/2020 21:55

Nesting is kicking in! I did all mine today too, you feel so much better for it, and they say it can start things too!! What is your date again @40weekswithno2?

40weekswithno2 · 26/11/2020 22:36

@Pukeymama hi sending you labour vibes. How old is your first dc?

@MummytoMatildaX date was yesterday but I think it's this weekend really. My date was closer with ds too.

OP posts:
addler · 26/11/2020 23:16

Had the breast pump on for an hour today and not even a niggle. Currently have the oil diffuser on with clary sage and nothing either. Is my uterus just made of steel and impervious to any stimulation?!

Pukeymama · 27/11/2020 05:05

Thanks @4weekswithnumber2! First DC will be 3 in January, talks about baby a lot but I don't think actually understands will be coming out soon and living with us!! How old is your first?

@addler I also had the breast pump out last night trying to get things moving (loved your comment about uterus of steel 😆). It was definitely causing Braxton Hicks for me and I woke up about an hour ago feeling pretty uncomfortable, but I think it's more like upset stomach uncomfortable (although I don't actually need the loo) rather than contractions unfortunately!

@MummytoMayildaX I hope your night went ok!!

40weekswithno2 · 27/11/2020 05:36

@addler I've had clary sage and lavender on the go too. I was hoping for today but it doesn't seem likely now.

@Pukeymama he's 4, he's so excited about the baby, hopefully it stays that way! He is a major mummy's boy so I think he'll have some adjusting to do.

OP posts:
Wise0wl · 27/11/2020 05:53

Morning, hope it’s ok if I join? I’m past 41 weeks (FTM) and trying really hard to keep positive but feeling really fed up. Had some cramping earlier this week which has gone away now, so no signs here.

@40weekswithno2 have you found the essential oils have helped? Might try and pick some up today. I’ve tried everything else I think, but open to all ideas!

40weekswithno2 · 27/11/2020 06:00

@Wise0wl your baby will be here so soon. Everyday you're increasingly likely to go into labour Smile

The essential oils smell nice and are good for relaxation but I don't really think there's anything you can do at home to put yourself into labour really. Otherwise no one would ever need an induction I suppose.

OP posts:
Wise0wl · 27/11/2020 06:15

@40weekswithno2 thank you- I know you’re right! I have always felt really relaxed about going past my EDD but post 41 weeks is tough! Hope you’re doing ok?
