Fancy keeping me company? How are you doing?

Was my due date today, from my ovulation date I actually think it's more like this weekend though tbh.

Not feeling too bad tbh pretty relaxed about it all this time round except the excessive texts and phone calls from people since last week "any sign of baby yet?" - fuck off!!!

Have my essential oil diffuser on with lavender and clary sage and just waiting for my dh to come and give me a foot rub.

Sending labour vibes to everyone due now.

@Stargazer87 I got the milky discharge in the week up to losing my mucus plug.

Stargazer87 · 03/12/2020 13:42

@41weekswithno2 That sounds promising then, it's definitely increasing in amount!

This might be a stupid question but what's the difference between your mucus plug and a bloody show? I feel some people use the terms interchangeably as the same thing and other people class them as 2 different things? 🤷🏻‍♀️

41weekswithno2 · 03/12/2020 13:47

I think a bloody show is basically just blood streaked mucus plug. I didn't have any blood in mine.

Stargazer87 · 03/12/2020 15:22

Oh ok so not much difference then, I was thinking that maybe a bloody show meant labour was more imminent.

God all this waiting around is dull. It's so hard not knowing when things might happen and not being able to really plan for the week ahead! I mean I don't even know whether to do a full food shop as who knows what might happen next week, I might be in hospital for days and all the fresh food would go to waste as my husband would probably live off takeaways! 🤣

Stargazer87 · 03/12/2020 15:53

Definitely having good and bad days too, yesterday I would have welcomed labour, I'd had a good nights sleep, was feeling fresh, energised and happy...today I just feel so tired, wiped out and rubbish and just thinking please not today! 🙈

phe694 · 03/12/2020 15:58

@Stargazer87 i agree! however i'd actually just like her out now, i'm so uncomfortable and all i seem to do is moan about it 🤣🙈 have literally spent most my afternoon asleep on the sofa 🙄

Stargazer87 · 03/12/2020 16:05

@phe694 I've done literally nothing today, just scrolling through my phone aimlessly! I can't even do any online shopping as I don't know if I'll be around for the deliveries! 🤦🏻‍♀️

phe694 · 03/12/2020 16:07

@Stargazer87 haha me too! i have so many things saved in my basket, i'm a hairdresser and literally been bombarded with messages from clients asking if she's here yet, it's so frustrating 😩

SEP880 · 03/12/2020 19:04

Ours was due on Monday (30th Nov) and no signs yet !

41weekswithno2 · 03/12/2020 20:12

We had a lovely afternoon choosing our tree and decorating it, playing Christmas music. DS absolutely loved it. Just about to run a bath then go to bed. Been awake since 4.30 this morning.
I hope someone has some baby news overnight!

@Wise0wl I hope you're getting on ok x

41weekswithno2 · 04/12/2020 07:58

How are you all this morning?
I think it will be today for me, I've been having quite strong contractions since around 5am, very sporadic though so it will be a while yet.
DH has just taken DS to nursery and the dog up to his mums so I've got complete peace today.
Bouncing on my ball drinking tea and watching everybody loves Raymond.

phe694 · 04/12/2020 08:34

no movements here, have a midwife appointment at 11am, so fingers crossed a sweep can be done and that helps 😣

Stargazer87 · 04/12/2020 08:56

@41weekswithno2 That's sounding promising...no updates from me unfortunately! 🙄

41weekswithno2 · 04/12/2020 08:58

They're becoming more regular now and really quite intense. Dh just put my tens machine on for me which feels lovely actually and helped me with the last one.

addler · 04/12/2020 08:59

@41weekswithno2 hope this is it for you! How are you feeling now about it being today? (Unless baby is slow to come out)

Maybe your dad is giving this one a little shove.

No changes here. I don't know whether to set things up ready for the birth at home, I've been feeling so down since around 39 weeks I haven't wanted to because I had a gut feeling it would end up an induction in hospital and the idea of coming home afterwards and having to pack away the pool and supplies was too upsetting, but now I'm thinking perhaps it would be best to get it all set up to try and get in a more positive mind frame? Not sure. I'll eat another Kit Kat while I think on it.

41weekswithno2 · 04/12/2020 09:01

@addler I'd get set up and if you do end up going to hospital ask dh to pack it all away before you get home.
Do you have a tens machine?
Now I'm actually having the contractions I'm not too bothered about anything else x

addler · 04/12/2020 09:10

Oh this is exciting!

Yes I got a secondhand Elle one off Facebook and bought new pads. Thought it would come in handy before it's time to get in the pool. I'm glad to hear they help.

Good luck for today!

addler · 04/12/2020 09:12

Also does anyone else's baby click? This one has been merrily clicking away throughout the day for weeks now. It's so loud, and always when it's moving lots. I can't work out if it's bubbles popping or mouth sounds or joints, it sounds like when you crack your knuckles or ankles. It's bizarre.

41weekswithno2 · 04/12/2020 10:08

Tens machine defo helps, wish I'd had one with my first.

That's funny, my ds 'clicked' a lot, this one doesn't though. Not sure what it is that causes it.

My cleaner is due to come at 12.30, hope we're off to hospital by then or I'll have to just hide in a spare room lol.

Stargazer87 · 04/12/2020 10:45

I've just had a sudden urge to mop all the floors, hopefully it's a sign and nesting is kicking in! 🤣

phe694 · 04/12/2020 13:34

had another failed sweep this morning 🙃 have an induction booked for wednesday 🙈

Stargazer87 · 04/12/2020 13:39

@phe694 Oh no, how do you know it failed? Was the midwife unable to perform it?

phe694 · 04/12/2020 13:42

@Stargazer87 midwife tried to do one last week and my cervix was behind her head, and then this morning it still wasn't forward enough so she was unable to complete it 😞 not sure how i feel about being in hospital for the induction, especially when i've had such a hard time to get my consultant to agree to me having a birth in a birthing centre due to being " high risk " because of my bmi 😞

Stargazer87 · 04/12/2020 13:46

@phe694 I can completely sympathise, I really want a birth centre water birth and I'm so worried that an induction will mean this isn't possible. What have you been told? Are you able to transfer to the birth centre once you're in labour?

phe694 · 04/12/2020 13:49

@Stargazer87 i won't be able to as it's an hour away, basically if i have the induction from what i can gather i have to stay in the hospital 😩
