Fancy keeping me company? How are you doing?

Was my due date today, from my ovulation date I actually think it's more like this weekend though tbh.

Not feeling too bad tbh pretty relaxed about it all this time round except the excessive texts and phone calls from people since last week "any sign of baby yet?" - fuck off!!!

Have my essential oil diffuser on with lavender and clary sage and just waiting for my dh to come and give me a foot rub.

Sending labour vibes to everyone due now.

I’m with you there ! Well and truely fed up and no signs yet 😟 ! 41 weeks tomorrow and had a sweep on Friday ! I may be really sensitive but getting a little irritated by all the messages asking if there is any sign of baby yet ... as if people think we won’t let them know !

Gosh that sounds cranky ha ha !

I've been feeling very nauseous this evening. Not sure why and trying not to take any change in how I'm feeling as a sign something's happening.

I feel as crazy and obsessive as I did when I was newly pregnant!

Cookalia · 07/12/2020 06:47

@SEP880 oh I know! People who are asking if the baby is here yet, I've started telling 'yes, we kept it a secret' in the most sarcastic manner possible. I don't mind someone asking how I am but stop asking if the baby is here!

@addler it is so difficult to try and not read into every little change or twinge

Just been at triage as I hadn't felt baby move much since I woke up, and it was so unusually active all yesterday and last night I got myself a little panicked. Of course when the monitor went on baby was wriggling all over the place. The dr came to speak to me and is really pushing induction today which I don't want, saying that if I leave it until 42 weeks it will then be close to 43 weeks as induction takes so long and that's so so dangerous and my baby might be stillborn.

I said no and that I wanted to wait a few more days, she's now sending me for a scan in 15 minutes and then says we'll talk again. They're going to try and get the consultant midwife who I already know and trust to come to the talk too. I feel like the doctor hasn't paid any attention to my notes on my history and why I really don't want an induction if it's not necessary.

I wish I had never come in and just waited half an hour more and then baby would've woken up and I wouldn't be here.

@addler it's 40/41weeks here. That doesn't sound like a nice experience, they may well have not read your notes. I think they have a 'policy' of pushing for induction with any reduced movements when you're 'over due'.
How many days over are you now?
It's true that induction can take days and days but it can also just take hours if your body is ready. I suppose it's their job to be cautious.
Hopefully the scan will be positive and they'll be less likely to pressure you into anything.

Well what a day. Scan was fine, baby is perfect and blood flow is great, growing well. But then they found ++ protein in my urine even though yesterday there wasn't even a trace. They said it could just be contaminated by discharge etc especially considering I have no symptoms and my blood pressure is always fine as well. But the lab tests came back as 104 and they said up to 30 allows for contamination.

So after weighing up options it's now a c section tomorrow. Not how I thought this day would go at all, and I'm very disappointed it's come to this but I think a c section is a better route than induction without a pool for me. And they're allowing DP to stay in a side room due to my history as well which I was worried about.

Of course now I've been sitting here I've been getting a lot of strong back and lower belly pains, and I hope it's just from the uncomfortable chairs and not early labour! Bloody baby has the most annoying timing ever Hmm

Best of luck today @addler - for what it's worth everyone I know who had a planned section said it was a lovely, relaxed experience and they felt in complete control.
