Fancy keeping me company? How are you doing?

Was my due date today, from my ovulation date I actually think it's more like this weekend though tbh.

Not feeling too bad tbh pretty relaxed about it all this time round except the excessive texts and phone calls from people since last week "any sign of baby yet?" - fuck off!!!

Have my essential oil diffuser on with lavender and clary sage and just waiting for my dh to come and give me a foot rub.

Sending labour vibes to everyone due now.

@Pukeymama it sounds like you're close!
I had a grand total of 4 contractions Hmm
On the plus side I slept not too badly last night so feel more rested today.

I really hope so @40weekswithno2!! Why does it have to be so drawn out. I feel a pregnant person has suffered enough by 40 weeks, the extra time and symptom spotting is just cruel 😆

I'll keep my fingers crossed that yours kicks off again today!

40weekswithno2 · 29/11/2020 21:11

How are you all doing this evening?
I'm so bored, spent the day cleaning & doing laundry while DH, DS & the dog were out walking & having a picnic.
Watching bad moms Christmas now then will go to bed & hope for labour!

I had a nice walk with DP and my sister, but was getting really sore round ligament pain so had to stop for a sit down halfway until a couple decided to sit directly behind me and start smoking Angry

Came home and watched the F1 and burst into tears over the crash and had such a fright I'm pretty sure I won't go into labour for a week now... I used to live in Bahrain and have been to the race the last two years so was already feeling a little emotional at seeing it. Stupid pregnancy nerves!

I'm in bed now. I've been having that heavy achiness of pre-period pains once or twice a day but it's not cramps, just that ache in my lower back and thighs.

40weekswithno2 · 30/11/2020 12:07

How are you today @addler?

I'm just back from the midwife, had a very painful sweep Sad he was engaged at least and she said she touched his head, only 1.5cm and cervix still quite thick- that can change quickly though so I suppose doesn't mean much. She said I've to try and stay upright. Going to collect ds from nursery soon anyway then maybe play in the garden for a while.

Feeling quite down. I've stopped doing the clary sage and raspberry leaf tablets and dates and all of that, it didn't seem to help get things moving on time and it's just making me feel like a failure. Which I know I'm not, and before I reached term I was very much in the 'not a personal failure, no such thing as overdue until 42weeks, baby will come when baby is ready' camp but now I'm here I'm just feeling so emotional I can't help it.

I don't want any sweeps and I really really don't want an induction and what comes with it due to relatively recent sexual assault. Which isn't helping me stay calm and relaxed because I feel like it's just a ticking time bomb until an induction is the only option.

I've spent most of this year home alone with nothing to do after losing my job, and I feel like I have nothing else in my life to keep me focused at the moment. I don't even have my baby yet.

Sorry, stupid over the top emotional rant over. Just feeling like a tit today.

I hope things start moving for you soon, you've had such a back and forth time with it the last week it must be driving you round the bend!

40weekswithno2 · 30/11/2020 14:04

I'm so sorry to hear of your recent sexual assault @addler Sad no wonder you're wary of interventions. I'm so sorry I mentioned that my sweep was painful now, I hope I didn't make you feel worse.
I know it's easier said than done but do try to take your mind off it, could you have something lovely to eat? Go for a walk? A nice bath? Cuddle with your partner?

The baby will come soon and it will all be worth it, I promise Thanks

Oh god no not at all! I can't imagine they'd be pleasant in any way regardless! I just know that having a virtual strangers hands up me isn't exactly going to boost the oxytocin at the moment. It's also the main reason we've chosen a home birth, to have that safe space.

I've spent the afternoon watching old X Files and pining for David Duchovny so hopefully that will help!

40weekswithno2 · 30/11/2020 17:50

That sounds like a nice afternoon Smile

Ds and I are about to go for a bath then cuddle up in bed reading stories. DH is walking the dog.

God I am bored out of my mind waiting to go into labour now.

Stargazer87 · 01/12/2020 13:54

I'm still waiting! Having a 40 week growth scan, has anyone else needed one? What did your baby weigh?

41weekswithno2 · 01/12/2020 14:14

@Stargazer87 haven't had a growth scan this time.

With ds I think my fundal height was measuring 2 weeks ahead so I had a scan around 32 weeks and they said he was 90th centile (didn't tell me a weight). He was born 8 days late at 8lbs 12oz. He's 4 now and at last check 75th centile for height and 50th for weight.

This pregnancy my fundal height has always measured spot on so no growth scans. I had a private scan around 28 weeks so dh and ds could see the baby, the sonographer guessed he would be around 7lbs at full term but I'd be surprised after having a bigger baby first time.

phe694 · 01/12/2020 14:16

hope you don't mind me joining, i'm 4 days overdue; and had another growth scan this morning, apparently she's weighing 8.4, any one else seriously fed up?😅

41weekswithno2 · 01/12/2020 14:21

Hi @phe694 yes, I'm seriously bored. I have a pre-schooler to keep me occupied as well but all I can think about the past 2 days is going into labour. I think because I keep getting cramps etc then nothing, it's making it worse!
I'm 6 days overdue today, although by my calculation only 2 days over - not that that makes it better 🤣

phe694 · 01/12/2020 14:26

i've had period cramps for the last week, i wake up so many times in the night in hope something has started 🙄 oh gosh a week, you poor thing! i'm really shocked that i've gone over, genuinely thought she'd be on time, even tho she's my first 🙈 OH is so desperate to have her here now too 😩

Wise0wl · 01/12/2020 16:20

Hello, no change here so induction it is tomorrow. Anxiety high, morale really low and can’t stop crying which makes me feel ridiculous but this isn’t what I wanted or planned for but equally I can’t carry on indefinitely. Hope you’re all doing ok x

addler · 01/12/2020 16:27

@Wise0wl I'm so sorry you're feeling like this. I hope you have a smooth and positive induction and delivery and that you're soon holding your baby in your arms Thanks

Wise0wl · 01/12/2020 17:19

Thank you @addler - how are you feeling? I’ve also ditched the raspberry leaf tea, dates and clary sage. I think I might go for a very large glass of wine tonight.

41weekswithno2 · 01/12/2020 17:39

@Wise0wl you might still go into labour tonight, I had ds the day before I was due to be induced.
What time are you going in for? What type of induction are you having?
A don't think a glass of wine would do any harm and may even help you to relax. Warm bubble bath with a glass of wine and a foot rub from a willing volunteer.
DH, DS and Ddog are out for a walk, I'm going to tidy up. Rock n roll

41weekswithno2 · 01/12/2020 17:41

Sex tonight might be an idea too as the sperm can help soften the cervix and might make things move along more quickly tomorrow.
I think I'll try to convince dh tonight again.
I think he probably finds me particularly attractive just now 🤣 especially as I keep telling him not to annoy me when he's breathing or you know, just being.

Wise0wl · 01/12/2020 20:13

@41weekswithno2 such good advice. Sex three nights in a row at post-40 weeks is ambitious but I’ll see how DH feels later on 😂

I’m deep down hoping I go into labour naturally tonight but trying not to think about it. I’m not sure on the type...I think pessary?

41weekswithno2 · 01/12/2020 20:59

@Wise0wl Grin tell him it will be a while before he next gets any.
Best of luck for tomorrow, I hope you have your baby by the end of the day WineCake

41weekswithno2 · 01/12/2020 21:12

Urgh I feel rotten tonight. Got a headache, sore back, feel sick and really tired. I hope I'm not coming down with something. Going to go to bed with a hot water bottle.

41weekswithno2 · 01/12/2020 21:50

Just lost a lot of mucus plug, that's an encouraging sign at least.

addler · 01/12/2020 21:52

At least that's something! You've had such a week of stop/start.

No changes here. It's DP's brother's birthday on Friday so as long as baby doesn't come then I don't mind. I just really really don't want it to share a birthday with its uncle who I don't particularly like.
