As the other thread was about to be full, I thought it made sense to make part 2!

Not sure if this works, but link to old thread

Ahh a new thread ❤️ @BatmanBaby I'm hoping that the pains are just Braxton hicks or ligament pains. They're just in my lower abdomen like a period cramp sort of feeling, not noticing my bump hardening/tightening so I think it's ok xx

Muriel84 · 12/11/2020 13:35

Thanks for setting up @BatmanBaby

@babydust2412 they sound like Braxton hicks. X x x

babydust2412 · 12/11/2020 13:42

@Muriel84 ok Thankyou xx

@babydust2412 I'd agree, sounds like braxton hicks to me!

Hi everyone. Marking my place.

Braxton Hicks are the devil's work... They've been really bad this time round for me.

BattenburgBerry · 12/11/2020 21:58

I’ve not had any braxton hicks yet, when are they meant to start? I have felt the babe hiccuping though which makes me laugh.

OnNaturesCourse · 13/11/2020 09:12

Not everybody gets them. I got them super mildly at the very end with my first - and I could only tell by touching my bump to see if it was going hard. This time round they started around 20 weeks and feel like a step between period pains and early labour pains, but they ease off slowly with a change of position or rest (and a big drink of water/juice)

BatmanBaby · 13/11/2020 09:37

oh god yes! I've get them sometimes - freak me out that I'm going into early labour lol as they feel just like that. I have to sit down and relax when I get them!

Poppyismyfavourite · 13/11/2020 14:57

hi! I slightly fell off the previous thread sorry!

Yikes I haven't had Braxton hicks - when are you meant to get them???

babydust2412 · 13/11/2020 15:15

@BatmanBaby I always feel the exact same! Was terrified it was early labour yesterday 😂 haven't had any today though so I'm all good 💙

Snorlax86 · 13/11/2020 18:34

Oh thanks for setting up a new thread. I only spotted after I posted on the old one so will see if I can copy and paste the same here!

Snorlax86 · 13/11/2020 18:35

Hey I hope everyone is well. Have you all started buying everything now? Other than some clothes I haven’t got anything yet despite having my list ready. I’m torn with it being too soon (due towards the end of Feb) and wanting to get it all now!

wannabe123 · 13/11/2020 19:45

Thanks for setting up a new thread.
@snorlax86 we have started to buy bits like the travel system and rocking chair. My partner is at home due to the lockdown so he is able to be in for packages which is handy. It definitely makes it feel more real! We haven't really bought any clothes as we feel they are more likely to be bought for us as gifts.

Braxton Hicks do not sound fun! Fingers crossed that they stay away!

Lucybbb · 13/11/2020 21:11

We've got a few bits, clothes, terry nappies, muslins. And we're planning to get the BabyBay cosleeper but need to get our own bed sorted first! Other than that we aren't doing a nursury or getting a pram so I've been pretty relaxed. Suddenly realised the other day I should probably think about things to wipe the baby's bum with (flannels?) and things like baby socks!

pampero · 13/11/2020 22:44

Likewise we've got a few bits and decorated what will be the nursery while we had the time. It's been nice doing those things with dh so he continues to feel involved too 🙂

OnNaturesCourse · 14/11/2020 14:49

I feel so under prepared but I thibk its because this time round we don't have much to buy cos a lot is being reused from our first.

We have the snuzpod
Cot
Pram
Carseat
Tonnes of clothes
Blankets
Changing table and mat
Bottle maker
Steriliser

We need
A New mattress for snuzpod
Something or somewhere for baby to sleep downstairs
Muslins
Swing
Playmat
Bottles

I can't think of anything else.

Muriel84 · 14/11/2020 18:34

@OnNaturesCourse do you rate the snuzpod? I want to get one of the bedside cribs but unsure whether to go for the snuzpod or the chicco. There are just too many bloody decisions to make with everything! Even blankets! Nothing is simple... x x x

IamC · 14/11/2020 18:57

We're pretty much there with baby purchases now - with two paydays until mat leave, we thought we better get sorted and then save save save!

Only big thing left to get is a next to me style crib which we're waiting for Black Friday for.

I know we all have our official due dates, but does anyone have any instinct about when their baby will actually arrive - do you think you'll be early? Convinced you'll be late?

I know I'll defo be a bit early as it's likely I will need a caesarean. But as someone who was born at 32 weeks, I feel like I'm going to be on standby sooner than most. If there was a sweepstake, I'd put my money on 36 weeks. Just got a feeling.

Stef92 · 14/11/2020 19:27

All boys on my side have been late so I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up with a March baby since I'm due on the 23rd although hubby is convinced baby will turn up on the due date as he was born on time 🙄 my mam was 12 days overdue when she had my brother (also a Feb baby) and they had to induce her as he just was refusing to come out.

We have most of our things bought now bar the cot but we can't get that yet as I'm set up for home working in what will be the nursery and are getting the garage converted to put the work stuff in early Feb which people think is daft but he'll be in with us to begin with so there's no rush on our part

Bambino87 · 14/11/2020 19:44

Hello

Has anyone had a glucose test recently? More specifically In Scotland? I've to get one on Wednesday and was just wondering if it's the normal test where you need to hang about for a few hours or if it's changed because of Covid? Xxx

IamC · 14/11/2020 19:47

@Bambino87 not in Scotland, but my GTT test is also Wednesday and it will the hanging around type of test. Nice and early 730am apt 😩

Bambino87 · 14/11/2020 20:01

@IamC I had watched an insta gram mum blogger in England who only had to go for the 1 blood test and was hoping it might be the same!

Yea I'm also 7:30 😭 going to just download loads for the tablet and try and watch some tv to pass the time and not think about food 🤣 xxx

Muriel84 · 14/11/2020 20:27

Yeah I think I’ll wait until the sales to buy the bedside crib. Can procrastinate more then! Even looking at bedding is blowing my mind. So many rules for everything.

I had GTT in July. It was fine went quite quickly really. Really enjoyed my almond croissant after! X x x
