As the other thread was about to be full, I thought it made sense to make part 2!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
babydust2412 · 18/11/2020 10:35

@Muriel84 Thankyou, that's made me feel a little better, going to ask to lay down while they do it so there's less risk I'll faint xx

babydust2412 · 18/11/2020 14:07

Jabs all done, were perfectly fine 💙 worried for nothing xx Thankyou @Muriel84 for reassuring me beforehand x

Stef92 · 18/11/2020 14:27

Anyone got an anti-d jab coming up or had theirs yet? Got mine 4th December and have to go to hospital instead of GP for it.

Muriel84 · 18/11/2020 14:55

@babydust2412 that’s great! Glad it wasn’t too bad. X x x

@Stef92 I have mine at my 28 week appointment on Friday x x x

Stef92 · 18/11/2020 15:31

@Muriel84 I was told I had to have my bloods on my 28 week appointment and then injection 4 days later. Seems strange places do things differently

Muriel84 · 18/11/2020 17:14

@Stef92 does seem strange they wouldn’t just do both at the same time with everything going on with the lockdown. X

Bambino87 · 18/11/2020 17:26

Yea I have anti D in a few weeks at the hospital. Had it at the hospital with first baby too!

Had glucose test today was just finger pricks instead of full blood tests which was good and only had to wait for about 2 hours so wasn't as bad as I thought Xx

Lucybbb · 18/11/2020 18:39

@Safxxx I've declined the flu and whooping cough/tetanus/diphtheria/polio one too. I completely agree, I don't want any prophylactic jabs. What do you think about vitamin k? I'm declining.

Lucybbb · 18/11/2020 18:42

My whole abdomen has been sore today. I woke in the night with a sharp pain just below my right ribs and today I've been really tender around my ribs and lower abdomen. It feels like I've pulled my uterus! Anyone had this? I've spent the afternoon in bed with a hot water bottle and don't feel much better :-(

DinosaurGrrrrr · 18/11/2020 19:05

The whooping cough vaccine is to protect the baby after it is born, a newborn can die from whooping cough. Not quite sure why you'd decline it to be honest? Flu jab fair enough it's hit and miss whether it is even effective, I've never bothered with it (I'm pregnant with my 3rd).

Safxxx · 18/11/2020 19:54

@Lucybbb I've not been offered any of them vaccinations yet, only the flu jab (which I've declined) but if they offer the others I'll decline them too.
I've got 3 kids all are healthy bless them without me being vaccinated.
My friend recently had a baby, she declined the vit k injection for her baby and asked for oral vit k instead said it's safer. I will be doing the same.
My upper & lower abdomen is quite sore too, can't bend much, and it's giving me a backache too...previously the whole pressure was lower down and my pelvic hurt.
Every stage is diffrent, as the uterus is growing and going higher up,this is expected. Xxx

IamC · 18/11/2020 20:01

@Lucybbb yes to the soreness - a couple of days now I've had it. About as low as you can go location wise. Assuming (hoping) it's just normal muscle / ligament woes

Harehopper234 · 18/11/2020 20:18

Was hoping I'd get my Anti D injection at my 28week appointment at the start of Dec but totally forgot to bring it up to the midwife when I last saw her.
@Stef92 how's your back? Better I hope ☺️

Stef92 · 18/11/2020 20:23

@Harehopper234 my midwife went on and on about anti d at my 25 week appointment, she even called my hospital to book me in. Back is much better thank you - hot water bottle has been a god send, baby enjoyed the warmth which was a bonus

Lucybbb · 18/11/2020 20:25

@Safxxx I'm glad your friend was empowered to make those decisions 👍
I'm sure the abdo pain is normal it's just a pain isn't it 😂
@IamC glad it isn't just me! Hope you feel better soon 🤞

BattenburgBerry · 18/11/2020 20:27

Yes @Lucybbb I had a very similar thing yesterday, up underneath my ribs felt so sore and bruised and it felt like the weight of my bump was really pulling everything down. Lucky my husband took pity on me and made me rest, which really helped. I’ve ordered a bump support band which I’m hoping will help. I’m only small and I think the extra weight of the baby is causing strain on the ligaments. Rest up!

Safxxx · 18/11/2020 21:44

@BattenburgBerry indeed resting really eases off the pain, when mines bad I go lie down for a while. Let us know if band helps, I've been looking at some..but I'm in 2 minds to get it or not, as I coped without one in previous pregnancies. This time round I feel like a right weak link 🤣🤣

OnNaturesCourse · 19/11/2020 01:09

Genuine honest question for those that declined the vaccinations - why, and what research made you do this?

This isn't a dig or a moan, I've just always been curious as to why.

I take the vaccinations on the understanding having them is more protection for baby in first few weeks of life, and for myself? So far I've had whooping cough and flu, plus my anti d... I had them in my first pregnancy too.

Muriel84 · 19/11/2020 07:28

I work in hospitals so am exposed to nasty diseases every day. I wouldn’t be able to work if I wasn’t vaccinated. A colleague who thought she’d been vaccinated against measles as a child got measles off an unvaccinated child a few years ago. She became critically unwell. It was absolutely awful. My own mum lost her mum to polio when she was a kid.

I’d think carefully about the Covid vaccine while pregnant cos it’s so new, if it even became available (which I doubt) but would probably have it. I completely agree it’s individual choice whether you want to protect yourself or not, but for me it’s a no brainier.

Anti d isn’t a vaccination btw. X x x

IamC · 19/11/2020 07:49

Morning all. Last night I ditched the pregnancy pillow, and ended up having the best sleep I've had in as long as I can remember. Maybe the pillow has been part of the problem all along?

Lucybbb · 19/11/2020 10:53

@Safxxx @BattenburgBerry I do have a few bump bands a friend donated but I'm worried it might change the strain from being on my abdominal muscles to being on my pelvix floor, which would be worse in my opinion! Let me know how you get on. I might use it for exercising and try and be a bit more restful the rest of the time (decorating a new house and unpacking...)

Safxxx · 19/11/2020 11:01

@OnNaturesCourse search MRC-5
This is used in many vaccines, including the ones given to babies.
Along side many other ingredients that will really shock you.
While we're all diffrent in tolerating these meds/vaccines there's pros/cons
Many of you will see illnesses due to not being vaccinated whilst others will see illnesses due to vaccinations.
Look how Autism and ADHD is linked to the MMR jabs, I've seen some family and friends with no history if this develop after the this vaccinations...
For me personally I don't want to rely on big pharma, who hold the cure of cancer yet don't give it as they won't profit from it.
I might sound silly to you all, but if you do some research you will be thinking twice too.
Look at this covid situation, whilst I'm not denying there's no illness, I will say it's mostly a very bad case of a flu, the word corona has been mentioned in history before, and in medical books it's considered to be like cold/flu symptoms.
Flu itself kills so many every year..
And healthy ppl with no other medical history will get over it, whilst many who are dying have other underlying health issues.
And why oh why is Bill Gates behind this vaccinations? A person with no medical background 🤔
To me it all sounds like conspiracy but please don't judge me..i'm very open minded person and try to be logical, I don't believe everything the media feeds us with.
There have been many whistle blowers warning us too.
If nothing else think to yourselves why are ppl with absolutely no symptoms being tested?
A child from my daughter's school was asked to be tested, she went and due to a long wait, she went back home, few days later a letter arrives your test is positive! Like what is going on? Few other ppl I know have been tested positive with no symptoms, then retested to be negative, these tests can be unreliable too. Need to be careful.
If your ill with flu like symptoms stay home till your better, as we did in the past, and you will recover, unless it turns into something more bad then get medical attention.
I've been vaccinated in the past, I've had my other kids vaccinated from birth, my 2nd one was affected with a bad rash that the doctors couldn't understand or treat, I knew it started from the jab he was given, but docs said even if that's the case can t do nothing, they kept giving creams and steroids...after a while I seeked herbal solutions which eventually cleared it up and he was fine after that...so with my youngest I tried to avoid them..but they were persistent in giving it.
This time I will be persistent.
(Sorry for long post)
After this let's carry on with the pregnancy posts) as this subject is something else lol.

babydust2412 · 19/11/2020 12:15

@Safxxx I always have vaccines and baby will too just to be safe, but you're very welcome to your opinion, we're not all going to feel the same way on certain things, everyone is different 😊 glad all your little ones have been fit and healthy that's wonderful ❤️

My little bubs had hiccups that must have lasted a good 20 minutes last night while I was trying to get to sleep 😂💙

Safxxx · 19/11/2020 12:30

@babydust2412 yes indeed 👍🏼

Awe bless💙 I remember those hiccup stages, quite amusing lol but not at nights 🤣
Mine is going thru a pattern, around 2am I'm being awoken by he's constant wriggling lol
But bless hes quite active during the day too. Xx

OnNaturesCourse · 19/11/2020 13:20

Everyone has their own opinions and I am sure done the research behind them/have their reasons.

I'm just a curious (nosey) person about it. Apologies!
