@DanceM1 it's really crazy! 😂 on the final stretch now! And I know, least you can be kind of prepared with sections, as everything is sort of booked in! But then can imagine it would make you more anxious 🤷🏻‍♀️😂 and haha, it's so weird! I noticed mine a few weeks ago too, but also how dark the hairs have gotten on my tummy! 😂😂

Starfish762 · 31/12/2020 15:00

@SkyBlue20 love the nursery! The rainbow is lovely, especially love the colours 💚

@Threnody lovely bump pic, spesh with your cat 😻 How old are your kids? I honestly struggle with my 3.5 year old 😂 She is a full on kid though, but still - god help me! She’s not been at nursery for 4 weeks though so I’m extra worn out I think, being a full time mum is def not for me, major respect for those who are!

@RosieJess91 sorry to hear about your parents. Good news they’re not ill with it though, that’s the main thing, and sounds like they haven’t passed it on. Stressful about the potential CS too, but FX no bleeding or issues & you’ll get to the date you’ve got booked.

Schools in my area staying closed till at least 18th Jan (prob longer as our cases are so bad), so more WFH & childcare to juggle 🤯 But trying to stay positive & thankful to be safe at home & being paid, it could be so much worse (it’s just an inconvenience).

Has anyone had sharp twinges? I’m 18+3. Google tells me it’s round ligament pain & is common, so FX that’s all it is. Was hoping it was movements, although felt like bubbles with DD & it’s nothing like that, think I’m just wishing!

Hope everyone’s OK after tier review announcement. We’ve been in T4 a while & honestly it’s not all that dif to T3 (apart from the shops, but you can get everything online anyway). One small thing I’m focusing on to get me through is that Jan is always super quiet for everyone anyway, so another lockdown doesn’t mean much (apart from the childcare/WFH juggle obv 😂🤯).

Wishing everyone a nice NYE, whatever you’re doing (we’re having a little disco with DD at 6pm & a fake countdown), then takeaway & film once she’s in bed. No way will I make midnight! Just think of the pure lows in 2020 for each of us & how we got through them 💪🏽 And despite our anxieties we’re going into 2021 exactly where we wanted to be, bring it on ❤️

Threnody · 31/12/2020 16:08

@SkyBlue20 thanks! Sorry you had a scare last night, glad all is well. They're always happy to see you, I went a few times with my youngest (he was a lazy thing sometimes), and they never made me feel bad. Better to go when you don't need to than not go when you do. Partners aren't allowed into our DAU at the moment as the waiting area is tiny.

@ew1990 Gosh, 30 weeks!

@DanceM1 yep, baby #4! Hurrah for your linea nigra. I had one with my previous pregnancies, but I can’t remember when.

@danceM1, @bubblybon20 I went into labour twice naturally, and had elcs third time. Elcs is so much calmer, and you're not utterly exhausted by the time baby appears. But I had emcs the other times so don't really know what natural birth is like.

@Starfish762 my eldest son is 5 and a half, my daughter is 4 and my youngest son is 2. They are a handful, and it's not easy, especially when they're all naughty at the same time, and it's tricky doing the school run and things. The younger two go to nursery 3 days a week, when I work (it's easier these days working from home). I have no idea how I'm going to cope with four of them! But obviously I love them so much, and when they're not being naughty they are lovely, and it's so cute when they play together, or cuddle each other, and there's just a lot of love. They're excited about the baby, my eldest came up earlier to cuddle my bump. We have two cats as well, so it's going to be a full house.

We're not doing much for NYE, may not even make it to midnight I'm so tired.

Pugprincess · 31/12/2020 17:40

@Starfish762 aw that's sooo cute I love the early nye disco with your DD 😍

@SkyBlue20 glad to hear last night went well, they certainly keep us on our toes.

My mums doing better, the tablets worked and blood pressure is down so no hospital today. Shes back next week at docs for another check but will be on the tablets permanently now. Will be heading home soon to see how far DH has got with the nursery prep today. He only had one wall left to scrape when I msg him earlier so I assume all the wall paper will be off 😊

Happy new year everyone ❤️ were just going to have a normal dinner now as had 2 takeaways over the last two days so I need to give baby some nourishment tonight lol 🙈 mum guilt already haha. Doubt if I will be awake come midnight x

Poppy10121 · 31/12/2020 22:50

@Starfish762 what a nice sentiment, you are so right! 2021 is our year 😊

Happy new year to all of you! 🎉

Threnody · 01/01/2021 10:56

Happy New Year!

Sakura54 · 01/01/2021 15:41

Happy New Year lovely ladies and soon-to-be mummies! Despite everything we’ve been through and all that’s going on, we have our rainbows to look forward to in the coming months. Here’s to a great year!

So potentially you could have a premature baby? Fingers crossed that doesn’t happen @RosieJess91

@DanceM1 It certainly isn’t the easy way out but I do feel calmer knowing I may not have to experience labour pains again and the whole big rush to hospital at stupid o’ clock (waters broke at 2am). I’m probably going to start to get scared closer to the time. Was in too much pain last time to feel any fear.

I’ve started sorting out my hospital bags and organising baby clothes. The amount I have is ridiculous and got given more. So much so I can even separate Newborn and Up to 1 Month from the 0-3 months clothes. DS was swamped in 0-3 as he was so small (5lb 6). He grew quickly but didn’t hit 10lb until he was 9 weeks so could fit in the tiny clothes for some time. Hoping this baby will cook for longer and be a normal size. I don’t like clutter and don’t hoard, so glad to be clearing out my attic and storage cupboards of baby stuff! I’ve told my mum I’ll be leaving everything at hers once I’m done with it so she can keep it for future grandchildren lol.

Starting to feel scanxiety for my scan on Monday already! We also can't decide whether to find out whether it's a boy or a girl.

Lollol86 · 01/01/2021 16:36

Happy new year 🥳

RosieJess91 · 01/01/2021 17:26

Happy New Year! Let's all hope this year is a lot better than last!

Although, I am starting it with a very sore throat, terrible reflux and a cough! Noooo! Tried to order a test, and it denied me, saying I hadn't been in contact with anyone, etc. But now the app has just pinged up saying I have, so hopefully I can now order a test! Hoping the sore throat and cough are just down to the awful reflux I was dealing with last night, I really don't want Covid. And if I do get Covid, I hope it's just mild, my body certainly wouldn't cope well with ICU!

Hope you're all feeling wonderful! This is the year we're having our beautiful babies!!

Starfish762 · 01/01/2021 19:58

@Threnody oh bless you, is it this coming Monday? Mine’s not till 13th & the scanxiety is already kicking in for me too, even down to being paranoid my bump is smaller 🙈 The round ligament pain (or what I assume is that hasn’t helped either). I’m determined for this year to be positivity only though, no more fearing the worst & catastrophising all the time (well my aim is to try!)

How exciting about the gender decision! Did you have surprises or find out before? What genders do you have already I can’t recall? Think we’re gonna have another surprise, but I am VERY tempted (DH would rather a surprise).

Pugprincess · 01/01/2021 22:19

Happy new year all! Mad to say the babies are due THIS year isn't it. We did some more nursery work today and had a trip to b&q to stock up on stuff for doing it. Will attach some pics. Wallpapers all off now and flakey paints scraped off. Next step is to rip off the old skirting boards and pva the walls ready for plastering. Ordered a new light fitting and a shade to match the cloud theme.

@RosieJess91 crossing my fingers that your test is negative 🤞🏻

@Threnody is this your 20 week scan? X

@Sakura54 it's amazing how generous people are when there's a baby coming isn't it. I have some new things and bags of unisex clothes from friends babies. Once I get a chest of drawers I can start sorting them into sizes like you are. Thinking of getting those drawer divider things to organise. Actually tempted to get the drawers soon and have in my bedroom until nursery is ready. That way I can start washing baby clothes gradually and sorting.

What laundry stuff should you use on baby clothes?

@Pugprincess oh I love that lampshade, the falling clouds are adorable! Where’s your cat gone? 😂🗑 I used Fairy powder & softener with DD when she was first born, eventually changed back to my usual stuff & her skin never reacted. I think as long as you get a delicate one to try first off.

Lollol86 · 01/01/2021 23:45

@RosieJess91 really hoping it's not covid 🤞🏻
@Pugprincess just make sure it's non bio xx

ValVal123 · 01/01/2021 23:55

Hello everyone. Not sure if anyone can help me understand something with my body.

(4-5days before period which is Due 28th)
DECEMBER 20th (before faint +) I check my CM and it was a Glob of clear thick stretchy mucus, like I was ovulating🤔 but see I would’ve ovulated already around the 12th of Dec. thought nothing of it. So December 22nd my bf randomly told me to take a test. I laughed and threw the test box back at him. lol.. I then was like what the hey I’ll take it. After peeing on the stick I looked and saw a hard neg line so I got up washed my hands and looked at it again and there was a faint line. I gasped!! Sooo I took 2 more right after drinking water to make me have to pee again. Those came out faint positive. The next day (Dec 23rd) still faint lines. December 24th tried to get a blood year they said don’t waste my money just do a test. Ensured them I did, showered the nurse my test and she CONGRATULATED me on the faint line indicating I’m for sure preg. Dec 25th-28th I STOPPED getting the faint lines & completely negative. I’m very tuned in when it comes to my body, especially my lady parts. During all this I was checking my CM. NEVER EVER bled. Not once, not a lil, no clot, no pinkish/brownish spotting, NOTHING but clear & white. Breast are heavier, frequent urge to pee, tired.. that’s about it that’s Clear. I get a negative blood/urine test from Hospital. Even did a ultrasound yesterday (Dec 31st) It’s January 1st and still no period. Could it have been a chemical pregnancy with just no blood?

P.s no UTI , STD , KIDNEYS good , blood flow to ovaries are good etc

Pugprincess · 01/01/2021 23:56

The cat 😂 Brilliant thank you for the laundry tips @Starfish762 and @Lollol86 xx does anyone know the difference between bio and non bio? Sure I googled it before but didnt get a clear answer. For us I've been using bold liquid tabs. I'm shopping tomorrow so I will have a look. I suppose their skin is so sensitive at first. Been told hospital get you using cotton wool and water for nappy changes etc but people switch straight to baby wipes once home? What does everyone think or know they will do lol. I've heard of these water wipe things too. Oh and has anyone tried aldi nappies? So cheap so I was thinking to start with a pack of those and see how I get on. Think it was my brother said asda little angels were better than aldi because he found they didnt leak. Aldi is my regular and local shop though I'm not near any asdas x

Pugprincess · 02/01/2021 00:00

@ValVal123 sorry to hear what you are going through. What did the scan at hospital show? X

ew1990 · 02/01/2021 00:02

@pugprincess I used asda or aldi nappies from the start, I use aldis sensitive babies wipes too, DD sufferes with eczema and normal washing powder has never made this flare up she normally gets it in patches where she sweats, like behind her knee.

The hospital nor ally have you using cotton wool and water but I used water wipes the cotton wool was sticking to her bum.

I've bought a couple of big packs of nappies for the first week and then can nip and get some more. I don't want to get too many size 1 even though DD went through so many in the first week. They have this line on them which turns blue when they are wet which is handy.
.
Good luck to the upcoming scans this week. I've made a list of stuff for my hospital bag and will pack it in the next 2 weeks.

ValVal123 · 02/01/2021 00:07

@Pugprincess I received an ultrasound and haven’t gotten a call back due to the holidays. I checked my chart and it says “negative/normal Pelvic ultrasound”.
I believe I ovulated on Dec 12th (app tracker says) I got globs clear mucus the 20th. Faint positive the 22nd. Negative test the 25th. & negative blood test. Still no period though. & I know my body Very well

Lollol86 · 02/01/2021 00:12

@Pugprincess I think it's just because babies have such sensitive skin. I use cotton wool for the first couple of weeks before switching to wet wipes. I've used Aldi nappies with both my girls and will use them again this time xx

MrsK21 · 02/01/2021 01:26

@Starfish762 @Threnody I've literally started getting scanxiety for mine on the 12th as well now 😩 I'm hoping going back to work next week just makes time fly by!

@Pugprincess loving the decor choices for the nursery 🥰

Pugprincess · 02/01/2021 06:18

@ew1990 thank you, which do you think you would buy this time around? Aldi or asda lol. I'm familiar with aldi sensitive wipes as I use those on my pugs wrinkles 😂😉 I'm guessing size 1 is the newborn size? I was eyeing some up in aldi in the yellow newborn pack and was like 60 nappies for £2.19 ish which I thought was good so I could grab a couple of those to start with as like you say they could grow out of them quickly I guess? Is it the aldi ones that have the line that changes colour?

@MrsK21 thank you, hope you are doing well 💖

@Lollol86 thank you I may also stock up on cotton wool too if I can do this method initially before swapping to wipes. X

@ValVal123 sorry it does sound like a chemical doesn't it 😔 maybe it's taking your body some time to pick up on what's happened. Give it some time and period may come so your cycle can reset. I hope its not a long wait for you xx

Starfish762 · 02/01/2021 08:19

@Pugprincess I’m not actually sure the difference between bio & non-bio, just less chemicals I think. Fairy is non-bio (it’s a green box with a pic of a baby on, same for softener), smells so nice like babies but I always found non-bio stuff not to wash stuff as well. Obviously you get lots of bright yellow poo stains (😂) so you just have to soak stuff & stain removed things first. I also like aldi nappies the best, but I do think it depends on the baby & the shape of their legs etc (DD was always skinny). She’s toilet trained now & my friend with a 2 year old recently said she thought the bigger sized aldi nappies & pants had gone downhill & leak. It really is trial & error, so just get a couple from aldi & see what you think. The blue line thing is AMAZING I only found out when DD was about 2 months old 😂 I think most brands have it in the first couple of sizes.

@MrsK21I’m hoping the same with work making the time go quicker, FX for us! Although I have to WFH 2 days with DD there which I’m dreading (nursery staying shut), but least it’s not 4 days like it was in lockdown 1. Gotta take the positives where you can 😂 Do you think you’ll find out gender?

SkyBlue20 · 02/01/2021 09:06

Happy new year, everyone!

@ew1990 So sorry to hear you’re still throwing up 😔 Not too long to go now, hope it doesn’t stick around though! Happy 30 weeks!

@DanceM1 I’ve had a linea nigra since quite early on but it’s now expanded further, above the belly button. It’s quite pale but annoys me that it doesn’t line up straight 😂

@Starfish762 Your NYE disco sounds like so much fun! Such a lovely message about what we’ve overcome and going in to the new year where we wanted to be, it’s so true and here’s hoping for a bright 2021 for us all 💕 Oh and ‘where’s your cat gone?’ really tickled me 😂

@Pugprincess Glad your mum is doing better ☺️ Looks like good progress on the nursery! Need to get ours finished today so I can get my WFH set up back in there before Monday.

@Sakura54 So with you on having SO MANY clothes - my mum has gone mad shopping (first grandchild and we love to shop anyway) and I’ve done my fair bit, too. Have put us under orders to reign it in now and wait until she’s here! Think DH is just happy it means the washing cycle shouldn’t be quite as intense (he does all of the washing in our house) 😂

@Threnody Good luck with your scan on Monday! What are your pros and cons for finding out versus not finding out?

@RosieJess91 Hope you feel better and your test comes back negative 🤞🏼 I can’t believe it wouldn’t let you order one initially, that’s so backwards!

In terms of nappies, I ordered two packs of size one and four of size two from Kit + Kin in the Black Friday sales and got a LOT of wipes from Pura then, too so am stocked up for a short while but also aware she may not get on with them - it’s such a balancing act! Going to start washing clothes in the next few weeks I think - going to just do the first few outfits and keep the rest with tags on in case I need to exchange or she’s tiny/big etc. Going to do my hospital bag Boots order today, too. Getting organised!

How’s everyone sleeping at the mo? I’m fine through the night but waking up early every day as I’m beginning to ache so much sleeping on my side! I have bad knees anyway and they’re really playing up, along with like just under my boobs and my shoulder. 30 weeks today so just the 10(ish) to go...

How’re the bumps looking, too? Feel like mine has grown massively - will try and upload a pic in a while!

Hope you’re all doing well ☺️

Pugprincess · 02/01/2021 10:14

@Starfish762 ah thank you for that I will look today, is the fairy in a green box a powder? I have vanish so I guess if anything gets badly stained it would be a soak in vanish first. X

@SkyBlue20 ahhh great the end is in sight for your nursery hehe we are so far off it's unreal lol, defo in the thick of that it gets worse before it gets better stage 🤣 sleep wise I'm waking up an hour or two fairly often almost like I'm practicing for baby lol.
My side aches too particularly my left leg side of thigh and hip area. I sometimes swap to my right side but avoid laying on back.

I had a fairly bad nose bleed last night 😕

Will update a bump pic as I'm 25 weeks today so due to take one 😊 xx
