This is part of the nursery so far. We’re keeping the sofa bed for now until she actually needs to go in to the nursery, just so my mum can stay or DH can get some sleep when she arrives, but when she moves in to her room, her cot will go there. We’ve also got a rug that needs to go down, book shelves that need to go up and some shelves that need dressing but it’s a start and it’s the bulk of the work. DH painted the rainbow - it’s not ‘perfect’ but I love it as it was done with so much love 🥰 The paint at the bottom is a bit pinker IRL and the rest of the walls have stayed white with the exception of where we have some quite deep shelves at the end of the built in wardrobes (pictured). Still can’t quite believe there’s going to be an actual real life baby! Between this, our NCT course starting in a couple of weeks and the pram arriving around the same time, I think it’s going to start feeling very real soon 😬

@SkyBlue20 lovely pics!! 🥰 Makes me want to get going with ours. I know what you mean with both movement and assuming everybody else's pregnancies will be fine so why not mine? Totally think the same and have to keep reminding myself of that. Am I remembering rightly that you are Bolton based?? If so we may be on the same NCT course😂 I'm not based in Bolton but weirdly its the nearest one to me ... Im guessing they're squeezing more people together while its on zoom?!

@Pugprincess the council are collecting our beds and we are taking other stuff to the tip. Thought about just hiring a skip to be honest but I dont think we will need it now. None of our stuff is good enough to give to charity btw otherwise we would.. its pretty old!

@TerriRose99 I'm so sorry you're going through this..you must be feeling really anxious. I know the measurements are so tiny at that stage, could it be possible that if you go back in a couple of weeks baby will have caught up? The heartbeat sounds perfect. Sorry I can't really offer anymore advice. Hope things work out for you though.

SkyBlue20 · 30/12/2020 11:56

@DanceM1 I’m at Bolton hospital but not Bolton based (my nearest hospital is actually North Manchester), was VERY nearly on the Bolton NCT course though as it was our closest but then they added one more specific to our area so am on that one now instead. So close!

Pugprincess · 30/12/2020 12:01

That's looking gorgeous @SkyBlue20 😍 I know what you mean I've had the same thoughts about my nursery like of anything happened I couldn't go in there and would keep door shut. It's so hard cause you have to start preparing sometime don't you. Otherwise we will have nothing ready for a baby lol. I have felt some movements this morn but it defo feels like baby is further back as not as strong as sometimes so Im trying to keep telling myself it's a positional thing as its defo moving. I just prefer it when it's nice and strong now. Definitely massive anxiety brought on with buying big things cause as soon as we bought it my thoughts went negative. Think I personally find it harder cause of how long it took us to conceive then we lost it, start feeling like life can be that cruel and it can happen to me sort of thing. I dunno, I need to pull myself out of it somehow. X

@TerriRose99 hi, sorry to hear your going through worry, my first scan was wrong by about 5 days they told me I was measuring smaller than what I thought I would be. I worried as I thought here we go again. Hopefully they are just out with their measurements. Where was your scan private or hospital? Mine was hospital but I had a trainee scan me. I would be tempted to try another private place and get a second opinion xx

Pugprincess · 30/12/2020 12:05

@DanceM1 my friends just asked for my bed so I may have to cancel on the charity 🙈 but to be honest I think the charity will end up cancelling on me as I can see us staying in tier 3 until 9th Jan lol.

Will attach my pram pic and hubby is cracking on with getting the rest of the wall paper stripped today so will update pics and progress on that later. Can't believe we are at these stages now I still need someone to pinch me. X

I also bought a changing mat yesterday and my friend got baby some clothes (big friends fan here 😅)

Poppy10121 · 30/12/2020 13:27

Ahh @SkyBlue20 that rainbow is so lovely!! 😍 i need to get some of our loft boarded so I can move crap out of baby’s room and start decorating — and we also need to move some of the heavy furniture but I obviously can’t help with any of it and we’re in Tier 4 so can’t have anyone in the house, just have to hope we can sort it all in a couple of months when things are hopefully better on the Covid front!

@Pugprincess so exciting you’re getting so many things together now! All looks great 😊

@TerriRose99 that early on it is hard to tell, I think it’s literally down to a single mm so there a chance things will catch up and the ovulation date doesn’t tell you exactly the date of conception either - it’s just a case of waiting, although I know how hard it is! Fingers crossed for you 🤞

RosieJess91 · 30/12/2020 14:22

Haven't had a chance to catch up properly, but I've just had my 27 week growth scan, and little man is weighing in at around 2lbs 6oz, so healthy. Got told the average for 27 weeks is 1lb 9oz, so I don't think I need to worry about his growth at all!! Still a boy as well 🤣
He's been a right fidget ever since the scan! Assume it's being prodded!
I am a bit worried though, I spent Christmas day with my parents and they've just tested positive for Covid today, even though they're both convinced they've just got a cold. Rang the hospital to mention it and they asked me when they became symptomatic, told them it was yesterday, and the hospital said I was fine to go in because it's been over 3 days. What happened to the 10 day thing??
Also the hospital gave me a sticker to say I was checked for Covid, when they didn't even check my temperature 🤷🏼‍♀️ think I should be complaining...

Sakura54 · 30/12/2020 14:43

@RosieJess91 Oh no, that’s bad about your parents, but you’re right about isolating for 10 days so it’s odd that the hospital let you go in. I think if I was you, I’d probably get tested because of the baby and say I’ve got symptoms.

@Smilingdonkey I tried that number weeks ago for my bro and again that day before calling the MAU and mailbox was still full but maybe they’ve sorted it out now. From the couple of times I’ve had to call to arrange my booking appts, it’s usually hard to get through as they are busy so I normally leave a message and they do call back.

@SkyBlue20 It’s understandable to feel like that about your pregnancy. My brother is keeping detached from his for now and said there’s still a high chance of MC like 50% and I’m like ‘Of course not, you’re talking like she’s over 40!’. I know they’ll be fine and won’t have another MC, but when it was me I was scared at my scans. I also believe all of us here will have our rainbows soon.

Loving the nursery pics and updates, how exciting.

RosieJess91 · 30/12/2020 14:47

@Sakura54 They said because it had been over 3 days since I saw my parents, that it's unlikely I would have caught anything as they weren't symptomatic yet. They also told me that even if I was symptomatic or had seen them in the last 3 days, I would still have been told to come in because it's a heart check up. Just feels a bit weird. I'm sure I should be isolating if I've seen them within 10 days of them being positive?? Can't argue with the hospital though?!

Smilingdonkey · 30/12/2020 15:15

@rosiejess1 the way it works at school is anyone who has been in close contact with someone positive/someone with symptoms within 3 days of them getting symptoms has to isolate for 10 days from the day that you were with them (not the day they started getting symptoms) It's all pretty confusing!

@skyblue20 what a lovely room! I'm so jealous of all the nurseries 😫 We are still in this bloody one bed with my DD in our room (soon to be all 4 of us 🙄) because of the cladding chaos. I can't wait to finally get a place where I can decorate a room for my daughter (s)!

@sakura54 🤞 they've sorted out the number now. They have always been really helpful when I've needed to call 😊

RosieJess91 · 30/12/2020 15:58

@Smilingdonkey That's what I thought as well, but the hospital says that because it's been over 3 days since I saw them, I wouldn't have it. The rules aren't clear in the slightest.
Either way, I've been told my placenta is still in the way, so I have to a have a vaginal scan in February, but they said within the next 5 week's it will either move out of the way or I will find its joined to the other side of my womb, and will probably bleed within the next 5 week's as it stretches. Said any sign of blood, straight in, emergency c section.
FAB!

Pugprincess · 30/12/2020 18:16

We haven't done any nursery work as my mum called and I had to take to a and e and still waiting for her. She's got high blood pressure. She only went docs for a flu jab but they wanted to check it while she was there as she hasn't been docs in so long. X

Pugprincess · 30/12/2020 18:18

@RosieJess91 hope your parents will be OK. And hoping you don't need an emergency c sec. Fingers crossed for no bleeding.

Were tier 4 now. But primary staying open here so I'm going to have to contact my head x

Workingmama1 · 30/12/2020 21:55

Lots to catch up on!

@SkyBlue20 nursery looks amazing! Exciting to get started on it.

Funny you and @DanceM1 could have been on the same NCT. @DanceM1 you're greater Manchester too aren't you? (I've lost track!). I did my NCT at Bolton last time and there was a real spread of us from Swinton to Chorley! I think its less popular in North Manchester, my friend in Timperley could walk to most of her NCT friends houses.

Baby had another quiet day today and I was on the verge of calling but had a cold orange juice and he woke up.

@RosieJess91 I hope you're parents are ok, hopefully if you're not symptomatic you've escaped. 🤞 you're placenta moves out the way soon.

@Pugprincess hope your mum is ok.

Despite doing very little the past few days I've reinstated nap time in the afternoon! Hoping to get a bit more energy back before I'm back at work next week.

DanceM1 · 30/12/2020 21:57

@SkyBlue20 ah right.. would have been funny if we were on the same one!

@Pugprincess at least it isn't going to waste! Looks like you've got lots of exciting stuff going on there. We have a snuzpod which looks similar to what you've got. Love the look of your pram, what is it?

Has anyone bought a cot yet for the nursery, not when baby is in with you? Or does anyone have ideas about where to get one from? Thinking even in the sale Mamas and Papas isnt cheap..just wondering if there is somewhere better?!

@RosieJess91 hope you don't get poorly. Hopefully not if they didn't have symptoms when you saw them 🤞 You are allowed to go for hospital appointments even if you have covid if they are important so I'm not that surprised they're letting you go in.

RosieJess91 · 30/12/2020 23:01

My parents have said they literally feel like they've got a cold. Not even a cough, so I'm still not convinced they truly have Covid. Hoping I don't have it, because I'm on the CEV list and only leave the house to take my son to school, go to appointments and for Christmas day.
Hope my placenta moves too, the sound of it tearing sounds horrific!
Thanks for all the kind words, etc! 💗

DanceM1 · 31/12/2020 10:27

@Workingmama1 sorry I missed your message last night. I am greater Manchester yes 😊 would have been funny if we were on the same one. Good to hear there was a range of people from different areas when you did it.

@RosieJess91 hopefully you won't get it..Im sure you won't. When I had it, my sister, who was on the shielding list, caught it from me (saw her at a distance of at least 3m) but she was fine! She had some aches and a temperature, bit tired but nothing else so even if the worst came to the worst and you did get it, hopefully you would still be ok. Completely understand your worrying though!

I've just got back from my midwife appointment. Thought they may cancel it as we have pretty thick snow here but luckily they didn't. Bit scary getting there though with bump and the snow 🤣 I asked her about the leaking fluid and she was really reassuring..basically said you would definitely know about it if it was amniotic fluid and it would be leaking every time baby moved. So I'm feeling better about that. Heartbeat sounded lovely 😍 She didn't measure my bump as I have a growth scan on Tuesday but not long to wait for that!

Pugprincess · 31/12/2020 10:44

Thank you @workingmama1 she's home as they didn't want to keep her overnight due to risk of catching covid at the moment. On the basis that she returns today if the blood pressure tablets still don't help (the ones she took in hospital yesterday didn't do much) she has different ones shes trying this morn so I'm taking her doctors this aft for another check and if that's not worked its back to hosp (she's 62 and lives alone and doesn't drive so I'm her support bubble). She didn't get let go until about half 10 last night and I took her in about 1pm. Its a long old process...sounds like you have a sleepy baby. What is NCT? X

@DanceM1 thank you it was a bargain from smyths. £399 but you get the pram which turns into a pushchair later on, car seat and isofix base and travel bag etc. It's ickle bubba brand. I'm not dead fussy on my prams and I don't have much clue but I knew I wanted some grey and modern look and something light and easy to push and turn (tried a friends 3 wheeler pram before and struggled to get round corners in shops lol) glad I went as tier 4 now so I'd have been buggered for trying out as goodness knows how long this will last now. As predicted BHF have cancelled collection of the bed due to tier 4 so hoping my friend still wants it lol, had to cancel on her yesterday with my mum stuff going on. I would look at argos for a cot if I wasn't getting one from my brother x

@RosieJess91 glad to hear they aren't feeling too bad, I hope it's stays that way for them. Mad how different everyone gets affected. X

I messaged my head teacher yesterday regarding my school still opening despite all our cases and now in tier 4. He's going to let me work from home as I will be in 3 weeks anyway so hopefully that's all OK now 🤞🏻 I have midwife app 9am on Monday for my 25 week check and head said he will call me after that as they will need to sort me out a laptop and some training so il probably have to pop in for that but can keep away from kids. X

Threnody · 31/12/2020 12:02

Aagh, just wrote a really long post, accidentally refreshed the page and lost it all! Here goes again.

@TerriRose99 sorry you're having this stress. Think @Poppy10121 was right that the measurements are so tiny that it's easy to get it wrong - fingers crossed everything is ok.

@SkyBlue20 love the rainbow!

@RosieJess91 hope you don't get it, and that your placenta moves. Sounds a bit scary. EMCS isn't too bad though, I had two.

@DanceM1 glad midwife reassured you. I got a Rachel cot bed that converts to a toddler bed from John Lewis for my first, still going strong with #3 now, so should last for #4 too. It's going to be a problem when we have to get #3 a proper bed though as it won't fit in the room with his brother's bed, so we'll need to move rooms around or something.

@Pugprincess that's good you can work from home.

Had fun trying to take a bump picture this morning - the cat wanted to be in it too.

SkyBlue20 · 31/12/2020 14:12

Thanks for all of the nursery comments everyone! Still a fair bit to do but really happy with it so far.

@PugPrincess you’re right, you do have to start prepping some time, can’t put it off forever. DH and I were saying the other day how lucky we feel to be at this stage, even though I am still filled with anxiety – we didn’t even nearly get to this stage last pregnancy so to be here now is such a blessing. Your bits for baby all look lovely 🥰 Hope your mum is ok and glad you can WFH after the holidays!

@RosieJess91 Glad all was good at the growth scan! Really sorry to hear about your parents though, hope they’re doing ok. Must be such a worry for you. Hopefully if you have no symptoms by now, you’re ok. Placenta issues sound like they might cause some worry, too, but glad the hospital are on it and hopefully all will be ok 🤞🏼

@DanceM1 We’ve not bought the cot but have seen the one we’re planning to get, it’s from Ikea and the side comes off, etc, so should last a while. Good to know about the amniotic fluid, thanks for sharing, that is reassuring.

@Threnody Looking lovely and what a cute cat!

Ended up in triage at midnight last night as I hadn’t felt baby at all since her very active morning, despite trying sugar, music and lying on my side, all of which usually work. Typically, she started moving as soon as we got there but got monitored for a while and all was good. Today she’s been moving loads! Must have tired herself out. Felt like an idiot for going but the midwives were so reassuring and said we did the right thing and to never hesitate to go back if we feel we need to. DH was allowed in, too, for once, which was nice. They did say it might change today with us going in to tier 4 but I saw a post on the hospital FB this morning saying nothing was changing so hopefully not.

Announced our pregnancy on FB today, which was nice but also makes it so real! Not going to do Instagram until the new year as need to tell my clients first rather than them find out from my social media – can’t wait to be able to be open about it!

Hope everyone is well and HAPPY NEW YEAR! Here’s to a 2021 that will be so much better than these last 12 months 🥂

bubblybon20 · 31/12/2020 14:13

Starting 1 cup a day of raspberry leaf tea this weekend ! 😱😱 just sounds crazy! 😅

ew1990 · 31/12/2020 14:29

I can never seem to keep up these days, spent the morning vomiting again, I'm used to it now think I'm going to have sickness till the end.

We got the cot from IKEA which converts to a toddler bed and it's still like brand new 3 years later so going to get DD a single bed and use this one for baby.

I can't believe I'm 30 weeks tomorrow! Got my next growth scan a week Tuesday, I really need to start to think about packing my hospital bag I had it done at 30 weeks with DD, just one less thing to worry about.

Hope everyone has a fab new year's eve, nothing planned for us obviously in teir 4 now so just a chilled night

DanceM1 · 31/12/2020 14:33

@Pugprincess cot sounds like a great deal! Hope your friend still wants the bed 🤞 So glad your head is being supportive and letting you wfh, thats great.

@Threnody is this baby number 4 for you?! Oh my goodness..our expert here then!! Thank you for the cot info. Bump looks lovely 🥰

@SkyBlue20 I thought about IKEA so good to know you've seen a good one there..I will have a look thank you. Yeah im glad the midwife was reassuring..she said if it were amniotic fluid there would be hair and all sorts of other bits in it 🤣 Not at all like what I've read online! Sorry baby scared you last night. Glad you went to get checked though, always for the best!

@bubblybon20 eek!! Its exciting isn't it. My friend had a baby on Tuesday (was due today). She ended up being booked in for a C section as baby was transverse. Couldn't help but be a bit jealous that she knew when baby was coming! But I know having a C section is not the easy way out!!

DanceM1 · 31/12/2020 14:37

Oh also.. just suddenly realised today that I have a linea nigra (is that how you spell it?!). Dont know how long its been there but looks like somebody has literally drawn down my belly with a brown coloured pencil. Its really thin.. not what I had imagined 🤣
