So jealous of everyone feeling movements! I've not felt anything yet. 2 weeks to go til my 20 week scan so hoping everything will be OK. My appetite is massively increased in the last week so hopefully that means everything is still growing.

@SmileyT I've been sleeping on my front sometimes which isn't even how I normally sleep! I wake up half on/half off the pregnancy pillow which i guess gives a bit of space for the belly but still can't figure out how that can be comfortable (it is though!)

RosieJess91 · 03/11/2020 14:36

19 weeks tomorrow, and after saying I had barely any movements for a while, today this baby has been fidgeting non-stop! Loads of movement today. Must know it's nearly half way!

ew1990 · 03/11/2020 18:22

Just catching up it's DDs birthday and she's just passed out, been a very busy day!

@bubblybon20 I sleep weird like half on my side half on my stomach. Ive never been a back sleeper normally a stomach sleeper.

I had the most horrendous heartburn last night that kept me up untill the early hours. Hoping for a good night sleep tonight

Hopefulmummie · 03/11/2020 18:43

Hi everyone.
Congratulations on BFP

I had an ectopic pregnancy back in June at 7 weeks which was devastating. Me and my partner have been TTC again since late August and have had 2 BFN since.

My AF due tomorrow but I've felt strange all week and been having sharp cramps for few days which have been different to period cramps. Decided to do a test today and got a BFP :)
I obviously don't want to get excited cause of what happened last time. I am going to do a self referral tomorrow as I know they scan you from 6 weeks if you have a previous ectopic pregnancy.
Fingers crossed everything goes ok

Starfish762 · 03/11/2020 18:52

Congrats on the recent scans @Pugprincess @Lu93 @MrsK21

Sympathy for all you teachers atm, not easy! I keep reminding myself nothing’s changed risk wise (and in fact it’s gone down now no one’s going anywhere) so not to panic. Although obv that’s easy for me to say while WFH.

Fingers crossed the scan rules don’t change! I caved & booked another private one for Thurs when I’ll be 10w, and they’re still allowing 1 person from same household (they’re not allowing gender scans now as not essential). Not sure re my hospitals rules yet as my 12w scan is over 3 weeks away.

Re the back sleeping, I asked my MW about this at my booking apt as I just cannot sleep on my side no matter how hard I try. She said it’s more from halfway through second trimester that it’s recommended not to, and she said it’s more important to fall asleep on your side as your deepest sleep is your first one. I’ll def be buying a pregnancy pillow once I’ve passed the 12w mark, but not sure how much it’ll help hearing all your comments 😂

Starfish762 · 03/11/2020 18:53

@Hopefulmummie welcome! So sorry for your loss. Yey to BFP! Everything crossed for you xx

DanceM1 · 03/11/2020 19:41

@bubblybon20 and @pugprincess thank you for your reassurance. Im 23 weeks on Thursday so no not that far yet. Having said that I think I do feel baby every day, just different amounts! Let's hope all is still ok in there. I just want to skip to March and have a healthy baby where I can keep an eye on them!!

I tend to fall asleep on my side now but often wake up on my back during the night. I think it seems a lot of people do!

I seem to have developed a bit of a cough and slight temperature this evening 😬 dont know if its enough to be classed as symptoms but know its always better to be safe than sorry. I will see if its still there in the morning and if it is I guess I will have to stay home and get a test 😫 Really hoping its just a cold!

Workingmama1 · 03/11/2020 20:17

@hopefulmummie congratulations!

I had an interesting phone call today, from the consultant midwife. Apparently my MP must have including my email when he contacted to hospital as she was ringing to say they are looking to change the policy to allow partners at EPU scans! She also said that they try to accommodate requests when women really feel they need support during a scan and that if I need any further scans beyond my 20 week one my husband can come! I also asked her (was gping to ask my midwife when I see her next week anyway) if i could follow a ftm appointments pathway so I don't wait 8 weeks from 20 week scan to seeing anyone again and she said yes just ask your midwife so that was reassuring. She was genuinely really lovely and saidnif inhale any concerns just to email her.

DanceM1 · 03/11/2020 20:34

Thats great @workingmama1! Well done you and great that your MP actually followed through with it!

Congratulations @hopefulmummie I hope its a successful pregnancy for you!

Pugprincess · 03/11/2020 20:43

Evening guys, do any of you have days where you get more of the growing pains/cramps than others? Had it a few times today quite strong. Trying not to worry as feeling baby move etc. First time my bodies done this. Had an increase in discharge last couple of days which I read happens in second trimester. Xx

Workingmama1 · 03/11/2020 20:50

@Pugprincess I definitely have some days where I ache more than others. Today I've not had an ache but more like constant round ligament pain. I actually asked the midwife when she rang and she said generally ifnita not taking your breath away or stopping you from doing things, and not accompanied by bleeding its likely to be normal stretching. Also getting LOADS of discharge today!

Pugprincess · 03/11/2020 20:51

First time my bodies done all this stretching and growing I mean...

Pugprincess · 03/11/2020 21:13

Thank you @Workingmama1 it’s really playing on my mind this eve. Xx

Poppy10121 · 04/11/2020 10:15

@Pugprincess I've had lots of stretching and growing pains and was told the same as @Workingmama1 by the midwife. She did also say that some things that feel like cramps can be caused by indigestion/constipation/all the other digestive fun going on in there at the moment! x

Piperdream · 04/11/2020 12:30

Hi all and congrats.

Hope it’s ok to jump on. It’s reassuring to know there’s other out there that’s pregnant after missed And having the same worries. I feel like I’m going a little crazy as had very little symptoms from beginning and now their mostly gone. I’m 11+ 3 got a scan on Monday but just keep thinking the worst I had a scan at 6 and ten week and all was ok but I just can get excited I keep thinking the worst as we all know bleeding and pain isn’t always the sign it’s ended . Sorry to jump on and be a Debbie downer but no one takes my nerves seriously . X

Hopefulmummie · 04/11/2020 12:56

Hi girls..

Feeling a bit disappointed today. Rang my GP today to report the pregnancy and she told me to get in contact with early pregnancy unit as they normally scan early with a previous ectopic. Rang them and they said they wouldn't bring me in for a scan unless I was having symptoms of an ectopic like before. I thought I was going to be getting an early scan to put my mind at ease. Will maybe just book a private one

MrsK21 · 04/11/2020 12:59

@Starfish762 I'm a back and front sleeper too and can't sleep on my side at all. I ended up buying a Dreamgenie pillow from babycentral online as they had a sale on (managed to get it for £30) and the last couple of nights I've managed to stay on my side all night! I was going to wait after 12 weeks too but OH thought it'd be good for me to get into the habit from earlier on.
Only thing is the Dreamgenie is quite small in comparison to other pillows, I'm only 5ft so works for me but if you're taller it may not be as effective x

Starfish762 · 04/11/2020 13:05

@MrsK21 thanks for the tips, I’ll look into them all.

@Hopefulmummie sorry to hear that. My hospital EPU is super strict atm too due to covid, emergencies only. Book yourself a private one, that’s what most of us here have done.

@Piperdream welcome! Sorry for your loss. I’m 9+6 and no symptoms for me either, so scary eh 😢 I had at scan at 8w which put my mind at rest but the anxiety is back so I have another tomorrow at 10w. As you’ve had both Im certain everything will be fine, but totally understand your worry. Try to keep busy until Monday.

Threnody · 04/11/2020 13:44

@Hopefulmummie welcome. Sorry for your loss, and the response from epu.

@Piperdream welcome. Sorry for your loss.

Ladies worried about rolling onto your back, I have a small wedge shape pillow, which I used to tuck against my back so if I did roll onto my back I'd be at a bit of an angle rather than flat.

I've got my booking appointment at half 4 and am really nervous for some reason. Obviously it doesn't do or mean anything, not like a scan or anything. I think it's just the thought of having to tell the midwife about the mmc, and worrying I'm going to cry.

Starfish762 · 04/11/2020 13:50

@Threnody it’s okay to cry! I welled up & my MW did too when we spoke about the MMC, she’d had a loss in the past & said she couldn’t comprehend ladies going through scans & procedures alone. She apologised (she prob though it was unprofessional of her) but it just cemented how much she cares ❤️ I’m sure if you don’t want to go into details she won’t push you, but I personally wanted to explain so she understood my worries. Can’t recall if you booked a private scan or decided to wait?

DanceM1 · 04/11/2020 15:04

@hopefulmummie sorry about your EPU. Same happened to me.. not with ectopic... but when I had the MMC (at the height of lockdown) they told me if I fell pregnant to call them straight away and they'd bring me in for an early scan. So I called and they said no they weren't doing any scans other than emergency ones. I ended up having a private scan at 8 weeks though and it was the most amazing thing in the world seeing that little heartbeat 💕💕💕

@Piperdream try not to worry about symptoms too much. I had much less in terms of symptoms with this pregnancy than with the MMC.

So I'm off work ill today with covid symptoms 🙈 I've had a test this morning so just really hoping its negative. I feel OK in myself really, just got a cough and possibly a bit of a temperature. Just hoping I don't get any worse 🤞

Also really struggling to even walk now my hips are so painful. I cried after taking 3 steps today it was so so painful. And then the doctors called to say they gave me the wrong flu jab 🙈🤣 lets hope its true that things come in 3s and that's it for now!!🙏🤞

SkyBlue20 · 04/11/2020 16:07

Hi all, hope everyone is alright.

@bubblybon20 Yes, I wake up on my back sometimes (I woke up on my back but kind of propped up last night, it's like in my sleep I'd thought 'at least prop yourself up!'). I seem to be mostly sleeping on my right side though, kind of half on my side, half on my tummy, like @ew1990 - I just will not stay on my left!

@Hopefulmummie Congratulations on your BFP and welcome ☺️

@Workingmama1 Well done you getting that response from the hospital, well worth emailing your MP. I must say, I do like the staff at Bolton, they've all been so lovely.

@Piperdream Welcome and congratulations on your pregnancy. We all completely understand the worries - we've all been/are there and definitely sympathise. Just focus on one day at a time and the time will soon pass by, even if it doesn't feel like it at the time. A good scan at 10 weeks is really positive - I'm sure I read that the chances of anything going wrong after that are similar to what they are after 12 weeks. xx

@Threnody Hope the appointment goes ok. Midwives will have seen it all and more plenty of times before so do not worry about getting emotional. xx

@DanceM1 Sounds like you're really going through it! Hope the test comes back negative. Can the docs give you anything to help with your hips?

I think I've finally felt some movements - I'm constantly doubting myself and not letting myself believe (self preservation?), thinking it's wind or hunger, but there are some I'm pretty sure were baby girl. This morning I was even lay in bed with my hand on my tummy and I'm convinced I felt her kick my hand but I couldn't feel it inside, it was weird. I was half asleep though so probably not the most perceptive 😂 It seems I'm most likely to feel them when in bed at night, so been wishing my days away to see if I can feel any more. Can't wait to have them regularly and know for certain that it's the little one but seems she's getting longer and stronger so should hopefully be soon 🤞🏼 It's only been a week since my last scan and I already want another 🤦🏻‍♀️

How's everyone feeling with the impending lockdown? I'm ok about it really - very lucky that my work can carry on as normal (I've been WFH since March), as can DH's (he always WFH anyway) and we've not been going out too much anyway. We got our final looks at prams in and have decided on the one we want (Mamas and Papas Ocarro), which is all I really wanted to make sure we had done before lockdown. Just as an FYI to anyone else who might be looking for a pram soon, Mamas and Papas said delivery is currently the end of Jan, so I think we're going to order soon - I'm worried there may be lockdown related delays, which might cut it fine for March!

Hopefulmummie · 04/11/2020 16:21

@DanceM1 aww that's annoying but at least you got to see little baby at private scan. Im counting down the days for that.
I was told cause ectopic pregnancy is so dangerous and there could be a chance tube is damaged which means could happen again they bring you in for an early scan. This was at the height of lock down too
