@Starfish762 I just couldn’t risk telling him until I was sure of my chances. Even with the MMC pregnancy, I had to nip it in the bud early on when DH gave my stomach attention and told him to stop telling DS (and rightly so). When he runs about crazily (which is most of the time) I make sure to be vigilant and protect my stomach. He did fall on it hard once though. He’s nearly 14kg now, but TBH I stopped carrying him a long time ago and especially when I got pregnant last time. I leave the throwing around to his dad and other family members lol.

@Pugprincess It’s good you’re keeping active. I also have a white car that doesn’t get cleaned. The last time was when we took it for a service months ago. I don’t even remember the last time I drove and I don’t dare to drive when pregnant!

Lovely bumps. Wow, full on pregnant ladies lol. I haven’t taken a pic since that last one I showed you as not much progression.

@JoJo58995 Deffo don’t worry about your bump size. I always look out of place when I go for my appts, it’s a bit funny. With me, I have small bumps to correspond with a small baby so it makes sense. My bump was literally all baby as I never popped. No idea how everything fits in there TBH, it’s so weird.

I also don’t really gain much weight. I have passed my booking in weight by over 2kg so far so that’s good and it’s going up. Have you ladies been keeping track of weight gain?

@sakura pre pregnancy weight was 56.2kg, I'm now 61.6kg, don't know where that weights gone? Face has filled out a bit and obviously the bump.

@jojo with my first I didn't get a bump till 24/25 weeks

Pugprincess · 12/11/2020 13:49

@RosieJess91 glad you have an answer for the pain now ❤️ Hope it eases for you soon.

@Sakura54 thanks I feel kind of guilty for doing the car like should I have? No heavy lifting but bending and wiping, got me out of breath lol, does when not preg though.

I daren’t weigh myself but I know I’m over 12 stone and I was just over 11 before lol. Think I’ve gained a lot 🙈 I think some babies sit further into your back so not so big bump? Thinking about those ladies who were pregnant and never knew till giving birth. X

Threnody · 12/11/2020 14:02

Some lovely bump pictures ladies!

Just had a letter with my consultant appointment for January - seems so far away. I realised my midwife must have misheard my weight, as she's put it down wrong. Oh well.

Lu93 · 12/11/2020 17:49

Aww lovely bump photos. It's crazy how different we all look. Some days I feel like I'm not even pregnant in a morning, and then I get dressed and like oh yeah... hope you manage to ease your sciatica, it can be so painful and not as though we can have a hot bath to release the tension! I'm starting to get uncomfortable on a night and find I'm just tossing and turning but know that it's only going to get worse... glad that everyone else is okay. Here's bump today at 18.4 🥰

SmileyT · 12/11/2020 19:33

@Sakura54 strangest thing about my appt is that even though the first f2f was booked at 27weeks the 2nd one would've been booked at 28w and the MW didn't seem to understand why i thought that was strange 🙈 but all sorted now.

On the weight gain front, I've completely lost the plot... just checked and from pre MC pregnancy weight to now I'm up like 25lbs/ 12kgs, about 6kg in lockdown and 6kg in this pregnancy, I'm 99% sure it's all haribo and not baby 😂

Loving all the bump pics, my friend you could still see her abs at 20weeks but she had a nearly 10lb baby so for those with small bumps don't worry it has any direct correlation to baby ❤️

Also anyone that has had MW appts face to face or previous pregnancies, what exactly do they do? I've got my 25week in a few weeks and wondering if it's just height/ weight/ urine and blood test? 🧐

Poppy10121 · 12/11/2020 20:41

@jojo58995 I totally get the bump fear, I am 19 weeks and found myself in a google image search for about 20mins looking at other people’s bumps and worrying mines too small at this stage! I had a bigger bump at some earlier points when I was more bloated, also haven’t felt any movements yet.

@skyblue20 and @pugprincess what lovely bump pics!

@rosiejess91 hope you feel better soon, that sounds horrible ☹️

I weighed myself the other day and so far I have put on 7lbs in this pregnancy on top of the lockdown/MC 7lb I didn’t lose so I’m about a stone heavier than I was in February now but don’t really care as long as me and baby are healthy! Didn’t realise how fat I’d got til I tried to wear bump band with normal jeans and they barely go over my arse anymore! But food is basically the only thing to look forward to at the mo 😅

Workingmama1 · 12/11/2020 20:58

@smileyT every midwife appointment from now one they will do urine, blood pressure and listen to the baby. I think it's from 28 weeks they measure your bump and then at 28 weeks they also do more bloods but dont repeat them unless there are issues. My midwife said they don't weigh you anymore unless you have a high bmi or flagged eating disorders previously.

I lost about 6 pounds in the 1st trimester, I think I've gained about 3 pounds of that back, but only been eating normally for a few weeks!

@Poppy10121 and @JoJo58995 don't worry about bumpsize, it probably means you have good abs! Everyone shows differently. I look at nearly 19 weeks like I did at about 25 with my daughter, no more abs here! I wish I was a little smaller, I'll be toppling over by the time I'm due if I carry on growing like this 🤣

JoJo58995 · 12/11/2020 21:05

Haha @Workingmama1 it doesn't feel like I have good abs 😂

Thanks for all the reassurance. I'm back to feeling incredibly bloated like usual in the evenings so feel more pregnant again 😂

@Pugprincess I wouldn't worry about washing the car, if you've considered what you're doing you will have been cautious enough. My job is very physical wrestling with animals of all sizes all day, and my boss didn't even attempt to stop lifting things throughout her pregnancy and she has had a healthy boy. I'm not recommending that but its given me the confidence to be more active this time around and try not to worry too much about usual day to day activities as long as I'm being cautious. Pregnancy yoga does a lot of stretching and positions that I would have thought wouldn't be ok!

JoJo58995 · 12/11/2020 21:27

@Poppy10121 I'm with you with the weight....I had an extra 1/2 stone that I never lost from before, and I've put on a good few lbs with this pregnancy already. As long as baby is healthy it's all that matters. I look forward to my next meal the minute I finish eating something 😂

Pugprincess · 12/11/2020 23:45

Thanks @JoJo58995. Beating myself up now though as I haven’t felt baby much since, was really active this morn. Hopefully I will feel again soon. It might just have turned around as I felt like a weird heavy churn sensation? Anyone else felt that? Almost like a big wind bubble but no wind this time lol. X

JoJo58995 · 13/11/2020 06:45

@Pugprincess hope you've felt more since for reassurance? Like you say baby may have turned around making it harder to feel things. You honestly won't have caused anything other than potentially help it sleep by being active 😴 Apparently they like to snooze more while we're more active from what people tell me?

Dipsy77 · 13/11/2020 07:46

Morning ladies, this is my bump pic at 22+4. I've put on 13 pounds so far which is t too bad considering there's 2 of them in there x

Pugprincess · 13/11/2020 08:32

@JoJo58995 yes having kicks this morn 😁 phew, constant bag of nerves here 🙈 thank you x

@Dipsy77 looking great 👍🏻 ❤️❤️

Workingmama1 · 13/11/2020 08:51

@pugprincess don't worry about washing the car, you won't have done any harm to baby. On the whole pregnant women are advised against heavy lifting more to protect you than the baby (you core isn't as strong and the extra relaxin makes you more at risk of injury). Then the advice is not to exercise so much you overheat but a light sweat is fine, you should aim to still be able to have a conversation. There are some exceptions, a hematoma or low lying placenta for example where addition caution and pelvic rest can be advised, but on the whole you are fine, and I think you said your hematoma has cleared up now? If I get the all clear next week from my hematoma I'll be upping the exercise (aka starting exercise!) as much as my back will let me at least, I was in agony yesterday after the 40 minute walk to nursery.

Also I've had that heavy churning feeling quite a bit. I actually got it before I felt kicks and thought maybe it was the baby doing a little somersault?

@Dipsy77 lovely bump! Can you feel the twins separately when they move?

SmileyT · 13/11/2020 08:57

@Poppy10121 I'm the same with the food, I haven't really felt off food this pregnancy at all and at the moment there isn't much else to do apart from eat 😂

@Workingmama1 thanks for that... assumed it would be something like, but good to know what to expect even though it's still a few weeks off. Interesting they don't weigh you again, I guess they just need the initial weight for pre-preg BMI x

@Pugprincess unless your Dr has told you otherwise I think it's better to stay active during pregnancy for both you and baby so don't feel bad. My app this morning says that baby sleeps about 20hrs a day so don't worry about feeling constant movement and based on my scans they roll over lots so where you feel them will move. People in my gym lift heavy weights all the way through pregnancy as long as you do safely I think it's fine. Glad you've felt little one this morning, this pregnancy thing is a constant emotional rollercoaster isn't it x

Poppy10121 · 13/11/2020 09:33

@SmileyT @JoJo58995 I'm glad it's not just me! I spend a lot of time thinking about the next things I am going to eat and planning our food shopping! My husband is delighted because pre-pregnancy I was usually watching my weight and trying to make us eat healthy, now I am all about pasta, cakes, toasted sandwiches, etc! I try to make sure I have my 5 a day still but there's definitely a lot more carb-loading around that.

@Workingmama1 I hope I do have abs somewhere under there :D I used to be quite fit and active before the pandemic/MC pregnancy so I suppose there might be a residual amount of muscle.. definitely not done much to keep it since! What kind of exercise will you be doing? I've been so cautious but would like to feel fitter again.

Threnody · 13/11/2020 09:39

@Pugprincess don't worry, you won't have hurt baby by washing a car. As @Workingmama1 says, most of the advice about lifting and exercise is to prevent you injuring yourself. And the more active you are the more baby will snooze - your movements are like rocking baby to sleep. You're also more likely to miss baby moving while you are moving. Babies tend to be more active when you're resting, or trying to sleep, and you're more likely to notice it then too. I was always told to lie on my left, relax and drink a cold drink to try to get baby to move about.

RosieJess91 · 13/11/2020 11:50

Going back to the chat of bumps and weight gain. I haven't checked my weight gain as we don't own scales. But I've definitely gained more weight on my bum than anywhere else! It's so huge it's got stretch marks, I have no idea why or how it's happened. My boobs have also grown ridiculously. But my bump is now bigger than them. And yet my mum still says I look just like she does normally... 🙄

Pugprincess · 13/11/2020 19:57

Thanks for all the reassurance ladies ❤️❤️❤️ Don’t know what I’d do without this group xxx

@DanceM1 how are you feeling now? I’ve broken down to my head today as we have had 9 cases of just staff getting covid in less than a week. Schools closed for deep cleaning but the cases keep coming for now. I think I will be taking the offer of reduced hours working from home for a week or two to see if things calm down as I’m not coping with my mental health at all (anxiety diagnosed since age 17 and been on a low dose medication since). Think pregnancy is a tough enough time without all this on top, plus throw in our mc trauma too. I don’t know, you can only be strong for so long can’t you? X p.s sorry if I sound like a wet blanket but I’m just not ok x

Workingmama1 · 13/11/2020 21:31

Awww @Pugprincess sorry your having a tough time. I think it sounds really sensible to explore ways to spend less time in school, both to reduce your risk and for your mental health. When I start to worry about it I try to remind myself pregnant women are considered vulnerable as a precaution rather than as they have proved there are negative impacts on babies.

I've just signed up to a six month free trial I saw on one of the pinned posts. I normally ignore them but it caught my eye, you get access to pre and post natal fitness videos including yoga so thought I'd give it a go. Its free for the first 50 women, it went up this morning and I emailed this evening and was just accepted. I think when you sign up you have to enter payment details so will have to remember to cancel in 6 months! www.mumsnet.com/Talk/promotional_codesbargains/4078058-Free-6-month-trial-of-Helen-Flanagans-brand-new-prenatal-fitness-programme-MummaFit-To-Be

Pregnant After MMC - Thread 4
DanceM1 · 13/11/2020 22:21

@pugprincess bless you, I dont blame you at all. I completely understand the anxiety. I would be exactly the same in your position. Im definitely feeling a lot better thank you but its all relative! I havent yet mustered the energy to cook a meal and just showering tires me out! My cough is still bad too. As my isolation period ended yesterday I spoke to the doctor as I dont realistically think I will be well enough to go in on Monday. He was lovely and signed me off for 2 weeks straight away but offered to make it longer. Im hoping I won't need 2 weeks but at least I dont need to worry about going in before I feel properly well enough. I am quite anxious though as well and I always get this horrible feeling of guilt if I'm off work even though I'm genuinely not well enough to be there. I worry when I'm there and I worry when I'm not.. im a nightmare!🙈😫

I hope everybody else is doing well! Keep the bump pics coming!

Pugprincess · 14/11/2020 01:36

@DanceM1 aww glad to hear you’re feeling slightly better and think that’s great that you have a further two weeks to rest up. I think you would definitely be going back too soon by the sounds of things. I always think after an illness doing stuff at home is less tiring than going out so if you are still struggling at home I would definitely give it longer. I’m struggling with the work guilt too so I understand that. Once you can do bits in home maybe try to build yourself up by going out for walks? Going to be so weird the first you go out after that long cooped up I bet?!

Gosh it’s 1.35am and I am HUNGRY 😅

Pugprincess · 14/11/2020 01:38

And thank you @Workingmama1 nice to have some reassurance that I’m not over reacting. If there was just a couple of cases I’d be ok but 9 and counting with up to 21 staff absences last time I was in is just tooooo much for me to cope with. Really hoping the deep clean works and things calm down so I can return ASAP X

Dipsy77 · 14/11/2020 06:57

@Workingmama1 thanks, I'm only just starting to feel some movement as both my placentas are anterior so at the minute it's hard to tell x
