@Dublindolly I wonder if we are close, I am also in south 40 min or so from London xx

Flowerbudd · 23/10/2020 09:13

@reservoircats Ooh a few nearish London! Im from a big town (bit not a city 😂) near London...

Garman · 23/10/2020 09:15

@Rachetine it's totally normal not to have symptoms at 4 weeks, before home testing/early tests it would've been weeks after late period before women realised they were pregnant, the hormones really only kick in with symptoms after about 6 weeks.

Cats mostly stay away from babies, they're not keen on the noise and unpredictable movements! We have 2 cats and never had any issues with them and the babies, one stayed far away, the other would do a few casual sniffs while the baby slept in the early weeks, that was it!

reservoircats · 23/10/2020 09:17

@Rachetine I have a very needy cat who follows me around too. Was saying to my partner last night that we won't be able to have her in our bedroom with the baby so we will have to start doing the same thing :(

Rachetine · 23/10/2020 10:59

@Flowerbudd ah ok, I’m about 20 mins out from London on the train so a little closer. I’m glad it’s not just me having no symptoms! I keep waiting to feel sick as I get travel sick at the drop of a hat!

@Garman that’s good to know! I think I’m basing all my pregnancy knowledge on tv 😂 but I’ve got my baby book now so I’m gonna do some reading this weekend. Also glad to hear that the cats ignore the baby- that’s what I’m anticipating with mine! He’s not overly fussed with any kids who visit haha

@reservoircats another south easterner here! There’s a lot of us it seems! It’s so sad isn’t it, to think about shutting the cats out! I have found a next to me style crib with a net that can be zipped over the top (for mosquitos I assume) so I’m currently considering that!

Hello! Can I join 😊
I came off the pill start of August to TTC, had a period 4th September. When I didn’t get one last month I took a test, think I took a few, latest 2.5 weeks ago, negative. Still no period on day 50 but feeling cramps, spots, nausea, off my food... took two tests this morning and they’re positive. Can’t believe it!! I had long cycles 5 years ago when I was off the pill, I’ve really braced myself that I can’t get pregnant naturally.

Not sure how far I am... NHS site reckons 6 weeks, but my tests were negative 2.5 weeks ago and who knows how long my cycles are! Pretty blazing positive though, getting a digi tomorrow 😊

@reservoircats

Congratulations *@Bs93* :)
Thank you! Waiting for my husband to get home from work, think he is going to freak out haha
Rachetine · 23/10/2020 11:44

@Bs93 congrats! Guessing it’s your first? Same as me!

Here’s my test, one of the early ones as my period isn’t due until tomorrow and I took it Wednesday. I’m planning to wait a week and take a digital one.

Does anyone else find themselves carrying their test around like its already a child Blush

I just found out I am pregnant yesterday, took a first response followed by a digital one. My period isn't due until tomorrow, I really can't believe it!

Yes first baby too! Thanks so much, huge congrats to you too!

I really have no idea how far along I am, it’s so confusing. My line is really dark and I feel sick and am really dizzy, all indicates that the calculators are right and I’m 6-7 weeks, but then how were my tests negative 2 and a half weeks ago? It’s making me worry a bit

Ha yes, I keep checking my tests constantly and wanting to cry, feel like the lines will disappear 🙈

Flowerbudd · 23/10/2020 12:00

@Bs93 and @Hop95 Congratulations :) first baby here as well.

Also keep looking at the tests 😂

Bs93 · 23/10/2020 12:07

Ahh congratulations @Hop95, I’ve only found out this morning and really cannot believe it at all
Thanks @Flowerbudd you too!! I keep looking and my cat keeps trying to play with them haha

Lolliloo · 23/10/2020 12:28

Hi everyone, congratulations to those who have just found out!

I’ve just got off the phone to the midwife and I’ve got my booking in appt 13th November, it seems a lifetime away so need to keep my self busy. She estimates I’m 5 weeks today going by my LMP

Catladyy · 23/10/2020 14:44

@Rachetine would you recommend your baby book? We've got one called Expecting Better which a friend recommended which is full of statistics that I think are supposed to make you feel better about anything going wrong - but to be honest it kind of has the opposite effect on me!

Any other pregnancy book suggestions also gratefully received.

@Lolliloo I am jealous that you got your booking appointment and a call already! I emailed the hospital today asking them to at least confirm they got my form but still nothing! Think I am gonna be six weeks on Sunday though.

Iloveoreos · 23/10/2020 14:54

Hello ladies. Can i join thr club as Im absolutely clueless
So I rang my surgery today and they said doc doesnt check anymore until later and no blood tests etc required either and gave me midwife number to book appt with her directly. Is that how they did for you all too?

angc30 · 23/10/2020 15:09

Hi all! Is it okay if I jump on this?

Feel so much better reading this because I came across a bit a negative thread about early pregnancy. I'm 4 weeks tomorrow. Used pink dye tests, clearblue lines and clearblue digital before o believed it. We've been trying for about 10months so I'm so excited but also so so nervous.

Sending you all good vibes and can't wait to hear all the good stories we're going to have xx

Flowerbudd · 23/10/2020 16:03

@Iloveoreos Hey, congratulations ☺️ I booked mine without even calling the GP, I guess they'll let them know but i will call in a few weeks to tell them.

@angc30 Hey and congrats as wellSmile
Aww, thats so exciting. It took me a while to believe it and nearly a week on it's slowly sinking in! Xx

Iloveoreos · 23/10/2020 16:05

Thankuu..yes called them and booked midwife appt.
Congratulations to all new mums to be. Xx

Lolliloo · 23/10/2020 16:07

@Catladyy she didn’t say much tbh, just took basic details like name, don and ethnicity and same for my partner and gave me contact numbers for the wary pregnancy unit and radio room and then arranged by booking appt

@Iloveoreos I think every where works differently depending on where you live, I called my GP and the receptionist booked me in with their midwife straight away for a phone call. I’ll get my bloods, urine etc done by the midwife when I’m 8 weeks hope this helps

Anybody else experienced shortness of breath when walking/exercising? I used to run 5k 3 or so times a week etc so wouldn't say Im unfit but even walking the dog leaves me short of breath and lightheaded. Im not running at the moment, just walking but really noticing it. I know its common, just wondered if anyone else has it?

Ive also signed up with Results with Bump

Lolliloo · 23/10/2020 17:55

@Flowerbudd yes I totally have! Going up the stairs and I’m wiped out 😂 I’ve no energy either during my personal training sessions

OP posts:
Flowerbudd · 23/10/2020 18:19

@Lolliloo ahh in a way Im glad it's not just me! Well done you on keeping up the PT sessions Smile

Garman · 23/10/2020 18:32

Haven't noticed shortness of breath during running or HIIT classes, for me I personally wouldn't expect this until about halfway through.

I won't have blood tests etc until booking in appointment in the hospital at around 12 weeks, interesting hearing how the system differs around the place.

Dublindolly · 23/10/2020 18:51

Hi ladies and happy start of the weekend! Thought it would never come!

@Flowerbudd a little and also a little nauseous when I went for a walk.

Had my doc visit today got the flu jab..totally overwhelmed by information but also at how chill my doctor is. Hilarious quote of the day was him telling me he had done a stint in maternity but it was too agricultural for him!! Have any of you thought yet if you are going the natural route or c section? To be honest I’m leaning towards c section completely just from friends experiences. It’s probably way to early to think about that but the whole which hospital, public or private etc I just feel overwhelmed a bit with decisions!

We told my folks today via zoom call. They burst into tears Smile they are convinced already I’m having a boy! Im the youngest and only without a kid but I think they are both like FINALLY! Grin feels so amazing now having my mum know and having someone in my family to talk to. Have you told people yet? Were they surprised? Im actually surprised how surprised my parents were!! I feel on such a high now Smile
