Ooo catching up, so nice to see lots of new joiners!

I've booked a private scan for 7 week, because I'm anxious but mainly impatient, and it will also make me more comfortable to tell some close friends and family. We live near DPs family and have dinner with them a lot, so I can't hide the not drinking for too long!!

Dublindolly · 20/10/2020 22:05

@Flowerbudd thanks for the tip I just downloaded that app now.

We are going to tell both parents this weekend. I’m terrible holding a secret. Also I really want the support from them. I love my parents in law and it will be their first grandkid too so I’m so excited to share the news.

I don’t think Friday can come soon enough for my first appointment with the doc.

@Garman I am jealous you already have a head start with stuff. My two siblings have little girls one six months and one two years. So I’m hoping to capitalise on getting as much baby stuff from them Grin

Garman · 20/10/2020 22:14

@Dublindolly I boxed up everything baby related during lockdown and either gave most of it to friends and family or to charity shops! I just kept the nicest stuff for memories, I definitely didn't think I'd possibly be using it again.

It's so great getting hand me downs and borrowing things, saves waste and cost and is lovely to see cousins/friends' babies sharing them!

Hi all,
I'm after some advice. Me and my boyfriend found out today we are pregnant. We have only been together 4 months and this was unplanned. At first we were thinking we absoutley cannot go ahead with this as we don't even live together yet, however as the day has gone in we are now in two minds on what to do. We feel as though we are very happy in our relationship but we are still early days. I have no doubts that he would be supportive in anyway that he can. Im just not sure were ready. Has anyone had any same experiences and it's worked out? Or not worked out? I know everyone is different but we don't know anyone who has been through a similar thing so thought I'd reach out here. Thanks x

Dublindolly · 20/10/2020 22:49

@nic000 I’ve been very pro choice all my life. I’ve thankfully never have been in this situation until now when I am ready for it.

But I can tell you about two friends who went through with their pregnancy in similar situations to you. One was still in college and the other was working but still very young and not serious with her partner. Both of them don’t regret their decision for a minute. Not to say they had an easy road because they really did not. But if you believe something is for you, you will overcome and forge your own path. If I was in there shoes I’m not sure the decision I would have taken. I think pregnancy is a difficult decision in so many case be it if you are younger, financial strained or just in a new relationship. Whatever your decision talk to someone close to you that you can trust and be sure of your decision. Best of luck whatever you decide is right for you.

nic000 · 20/10/2020 22:57

@Dublindolly thanks so much for being so understanding. I wish it was under different circumstances. The reason for our doubt is because we want to be in the best position possible to raise a baby. We feel it might add strain and change our relationship before even getting to know eachother properly. I was brought up in a broken home and I don't want that for my child. At the same time every pregnancy is a blessing and I'm very conscious if that. I'm sure we will make the right decision for us xx

Hi, can I join please? I think I’m due around the 26th of June with baby number 2. Only just started trying so very surprised it was this quick as it took a few months and a miscarriage and then another few months with DD, was a about a year altogether so I had geared myself up for it being a long ride. Obviously not out of the woods with this one yet either! I was so shocked on Friday when I took the test, my hands were shaking. I had an early scan yesterday, I live in Asia and it’s normal to have lots of scans here. Saw the sack and it’s in the right place. I have to go back in 2 weeks to check for the heartbeat so that’s going to be a worrying wait. Hopefully it goes quickly. I’ve told a few friends who knew we were trying but I would have told them if I anything happened too. After last time I’ve realised that not having told anyone and then having a miscarriage can be a difficult experience, so I’ve set up a little network of people I can talk to if the worst happens! Last time I was pregnant there was a lot of bleeding that showed up on an early scan, so I was given progesterone tablets. I feel like I’d like to take them with this pregnancy too as they make me feel safer but the dr said there is no need. Trying to stay positive and calm but this part always seems to take ages!

Lolliloo · 21/10/2020 04:37

Hi everyone! I can’t sleep so thought I would catch up on this thread.

Nice to see so many new people, congratulations to you all!

I’ve got my first telephone appointment with the Midwife on Friday so I’m really looking forward to that, hopefully I will know a little more and get a date for a face to face appointment too.

How is everyone doing? X

Welcome all!

I’m due June 27th so seems like we are all very close :)

@Lolliloo I’m feeling Totally normal now ... not sure if that’s a good or bad thing. I’m like the rest of you... sure AF will arrive any day!
How about you?

I downloaded The pregnancy + app. It’s okay at best

Annoyingly, I can’t get a doctors appointment until 5th November! That should be okay though.

AnneZ31 · 21/10/2020 06:21

@Lolliloo I couldn’t sleep at all either! Weird dreams. Fitbit says I’ve only had 6 hours On average since implantation 😖

Flowerbudd · 21/10/2020 06:52

@Lolliloo Im not sleeping great either. My period is due today so Im just so worried it will show. Anyone else just constantly checking when they go to the loo? 🙈

I still haven't phoned the doctors, I think ill call Monday Smile

adogisforlife91 · 21/10/2020 07:34

@Flowerbudd are you in the UK? When I rang my doctors the receptionist just said 'well which hospital do you want to have the baby at?' I was like IVE LITERALLY ONLY JUST PEED ON A STICK!! cue hours of googling maternity reviews for the two options and then flipping a coin Grin

Flowerbudd · 21/10/2020 07:59

@adogisforlife91 Yes i am Smile are you? Im in the South East.
Haha, thats such a big step from peeing on a stick all the way to 'where do you want to give birth?' 😂 I hope you managed to weigh it up, thats nice you have options actually.
I only have one to choose from really but it's quite a big hospital so Im hoping it's ok :)

adogisforlife91 · 21/10/2020 08:09

Yep I'm in Herts. If you only have one choice then then Dr will probably be able to refer for you then. I had to self refer because my GP is only linked to one, which I guess is why they asked. Then the next day I found out a close friend of mine is also expecting but she chose the other hospital, now I'm worried! I'm sure it's all much of a muchness.....

In other news I've gone from nausea and no appetite to ravenously hungry overnight! The rollercoaster begins!

Lolliloo · 21/10/2020 09:28

@AnneZ31 I’m just feeling bloated a couple of hours throughout the day but that’s it no other symptoms luckily, I’m definitely still checking each time I go to the loo to make sure there’s no blood which is definitely a lot more often, I can’t stop peeing!

I’ve downloaded pregnancy+ also but on the look out for another

@Flowerbudd @AnneZ31glad I’m not alone with the not being able to sleep then! My partner goes to work around 4am and that’s it I’m wide awake after that, no wonder I’m falling asleep on the sofa come 7pm

Cornertakenquickly · 21/10/2020 09:34

Hey, I've just taken one of the digital how many weeks one and it says I'm 1-2 weeks pregnant!

I'm totally stressing about how accurate they are now though. Not the weeks bit but the pregnant bit.

Pregnancy calculator thing says I'd be due 27th June if all goes well. I'm cautiously excited

Flowerbudd · 21/10/2020 09:39

@adogisforlife91 Ah i see, thank you :)
I wouldn't worry to much, she may have chose it over something very small and you have nothing to worry about.
Aw, see I am so hungry, I eat then 2 hours later Im starving again. Feel a bit sicky but i think it's nerves 😂

@Cornertakenquickly I took one yesterday and mine was showing 1-2, it should show 2-3 tomorrow for me as it's 2 weeks since I ovulated but I think Ill wait until the weekend to use it and 🤞🏻 i see a 2-3 but I don't want to get so caught up in what it says but it's so hard not to

@Lolliloo with you on the falling asleep at 7pm!

Garman · 21/10/2020 13:09

Ovia pregnancy app is pretty good I've found. It praises me for doing weights so I like it Grin

Sleeping terribly too, I didn't need that added to 2 non sleeping dc really!

Rachetine · 21/10/2020 14:42

Hi all! I took an early test this morning (period due on Saturday) and it’s positive! So thrilled 😀 I’m three weeks along, due in July.

How soon are people thinking of telling their parents etc? I’m so excited to tell my mum, but keep reminding myself it’s early days.

Catladyy · 21/10/2020 14:59

Hello, also keen to join pls!

Took a test (ok, four tests plus one that DH messed up by dunking it too deep in the wee pot, sorry TMI) a week ago, first time, very excited but also super nervous. NHS calculator says due 20 June. I've already told my parents as saw them that weekend and couldn't keep it in...but maybe that was a mistake given how early it is, worrying even more now! Totally agree about how weird it is that there's no confirmation except the tests (plus no period). Feel like I've got pregnancy imposter syndrome but also huge anxiety about everything I do in case it's bad for (phantom?) baby. Also glad I'm not the only one checking for blood on every toilet trip!

My GP surgery told me to self refer to hospital which I did on Friday but have heard nothing - has anyone else done the same thing and if so how long before you heard back?

Namechange8471 · 21/10/2020 15:04

Catladyy

Welcome and congratulations! I told my mum the day i found out, i figured if it didn't 'stick' then I'd want her support anyway. It was such a relief i was ready to burst!

I rang my midwife today and have my booking appointment this Sunday at my local hospital.

I'm feeling a bit nervous as I'm very fat 😮, I'm trying to eat as healthily as possible, just worried about diabetes etc!

Garman · 21/10/2020 15:14

@Rachetine congratulations, and tell your mum whenever you want! I don't like to tell anyone until I've seen a heartbeat, even my mum which is so odd because I am very close to her, I just prefer it this way. I don't tell anyone else other than family and closest friends until I really have to, anywhere from 12-34 weeks Grin But others prefer to tell some close people as soon as they get the bfp. There's no right or wrong answer, just whatever you think you'd like yourself in terms of support and privacy.

Flowerbudd · 21/10/2020 15:38

@Rachetine Congrats ☺️ Im going to wait for an early scan about 8/9 weeks but its so hard keeping it quiet!

@Catladyy Hey, congratulations to you!
Its tough keeping it quiet, don't worry too much (easier said than done) they'll be there with you now every step of the way and thats lovely. I tried to phone my referral place but no one answered so ill try again tomorrow :)

Dublindolly · 21/10/2020 16:01

@Rachetine I’m the same I can’t hold it to myself until 12 weeks. I’m only telling 6 people total. His parents mine and both our sisters. I’m not telling my brother or his wife because it would be like publishing it in a newspaper!! I just want some level of support from a family member who has been through it. Smile

How are you all feeling today? I definitely think my appetite has increased. I normally pick like a bird so I’m trying not to lose the run of myself.

Also boobs feeling a lot more tender. 100% looking forward to having boobs bigger than Jaffa cakes for the first time in my life Grin

Flowerbudd · 21/10/2020 16:24

Saying that my sister knows, shes my twin so we're pretty much the same person 😂

@Dublindolly Just seen your comment, Im picking at food every 2 hours, its a whole new level of hunger Im having and Im soo thirsty
