@Flowerbudd Aw wow, I was always jealous of the twins in school having an automatic best friend Smile Also oh my god yes re the thirst thing too! I’ve had four pints of water and normally if I drank a glass by the time work ended I would be doing well! Maybe this is one of the reasons pregnancy causes great skin!!

I’ve been so bad this week in work. I can’t stop looking stuff up. Thankfully I’m working from home but my distraction levels are at an all time high. I’m sure I will calm down soon but I think I’m trying to absorb as much info as possible right now.

Flowerbudd · 21/10/2020 16:58

@Dublindolly aww! We fought so much at school though, it was only when we were older we really appreciated eachother, she is literally my best friend ☺️

Ooh true! Yep, drinking lots can help things.

Ha! Same with WFH, distraction mode 100% 😂

Rachetine · 21/10/2020 17:21

Thanks all, I’m so excited!

Defo gonna wait and tell people, I’m pretty cautious by nature so I don’t want to jump the gun. Love the idea of waiting until I hear the heartbeat.

Has anyone else immediately started planning the nursery Grin

Catladyy · 21/10/2020 17:25

@Dublindolly omg yes with the distraction levels. E.g. 3 hours today (and counting) on mumsnet. Feel like my collagues would understand if they knew?

AnneZ31 · 21/10/2020 19:10

@Catladyy haha you sound just like me, convinced it’s not real. It’s a constant worry! I hope we all get a bit of peace of mind soon.

My OH is freaking out. I’ve decided not to tell anyone until he’s got his head round it

Namechange8471 · 21/10/2020 20:25

Rachetine

Yes! As soon as we find out the sex I'm painting the walls pink or blue ☺️

Narla2020 · 21/10/2020 21:11

I've gone from convinced I wasn't going to have an early private scan this morning to convinced I'll have one as it doesn't feel real!! Almost scared for it to feel real yet if that makes sense?

We've told our parents and will wait before we tell anyone else. We have decided to find out the sex when the time comes. positive thoughts & good wishes to you all Smile

Flowerbudd · 22/10/2020 07:31

Im also convinced it's not real, my OH mentioned something about BBQs next year and I added that it will be different next year and he said 'why?' 😂 well because we will have a little one...He admitted it's not really sunk in at all as no ones confirmed it and I look the same 🙈

I tested this morning and got 2-3 weeks so a tiny weight lifted off my shoulders (i know I shouldn't keep testing, but it's sooo hard) 😳

Sunbird24 · 22/10/2020 07:45

Morning! I think I’m 4+1, slightly different as I had IVF but the calculator has me due 30 Jun. Not officially due to test until Monday from the clinic’s instructions, but I got a squinter this Monday and a bit clearer this morning so it’s looking pretty good! This will be my first if it sticks, and I’m 42, will be 43 by due date.
Hope everyone is feeling ok?

Flowerbudd · 22/10/2020 08:21

@Sunbird24 Aww a huge congratulations ✨ everything crossed this little one sticks for you, how exciting.

Im 4 weeks today and this is also my first, I feel ok if Im honest, super hungry and thirsty recently and a little crampy but keep telling myself its all normal :)

adogisforlife91 · 22/10/2020 09:02

Morning everyone,

How are you all? I'm officially 5 weeks today according to LMP. Had some light brown discharge yesterday when I wiped and the tiniest spot of pink this morning which has had me freaking out a bit. No pain other than the mild cramping I was already having, and boobs still sore, so telling myself it's going to be ok. Could be old blood from implantation, or might have disturbed my cervix on the exercise bike Tuesday night... apparently they are super sensitive now with lots of blood supply. I must have read every Mumsnet thread about this yesterday!! Grin

Salome831 · 22/10/2020 09:03

I am 4 weeks pregnant! found out a few days ago. I'm 38 and its my first child so i'm super excited :-)

Dublindolly · 22/10/2020 10:23

Moan alert, rubbish sleep last night, headache and a bit nauseous at 5am took one paracetamol to take the edge off. I know it says they are safe but I’m paranoid about everything!!

Apart from that though all is great Smile I am looking forward to my doctors appointment tomorrow as if it is Christmas! For me it’s the ok I want before I tell my folks.

@Flowerbudd totally the same doesn’t feel real fully. We were chatting last night about could we bring a baby traveling to Japan or on a wine tour in France ...total fantasy pipe dream with Covid obviously but think it struck me how different our lives are going to be.

Congrats to all the new joiners too Star

Dublindolly · 22/10/2020 10:30

Also let me know if you think this is a good or stupid idea. I would love to set up a zoom group chat for Sunday 1st Nov around 12-1pm. Just an idea to build our little mummy to be support group Smile I think with all this lockdown business it’s going to be tricky to get something set up in our areas so having a little online zoom group every few weeks could be fun Smile

Narla2020 · 22/10/2020 11:22

I decided to do one last test before calling the drs today. Used the same type of test & it's come back super faint...
Just waiting for a call back from the Dr, hope I'm worrying unnecessarily & wish I'd not done another test!
I'm definitely hard wired to worry for worryings sake.

A little group would be lovely to share stories/ thoughts etc Smile

Cornertakenquickly · 22/10/2020 11:23

@Dublindolly I'd be up for that. Also I just got goosebumps when I realised that I am a mum to be!!! Eeeeek.

Lolliloo · 22/10/2020 11:56

I work in the NHS and my manager has just made me feel SO rubbish about not having a flu jab this year! We have had an e-mail that pregnant staff are not to have flu jabs given to them through work and our midwives are to organise them hence me declining. I’m not ready to tell my manager about my pregnancy just yet as I’ve not even spoken to a midwife yet as I’m so early on. I’ve never been made to feel so guilty, I wanted to cry in the spot! Sorry rant over.

Flowerbudd · 22/10/2020 13:17

@Dublindolly Aw yeah, Id be up for that as well, will be really nice to have a support group as the usual places won't be open.

So I phoned my maternity unit and all booked in for the 21st November, where I am we're allowed face to face ones which i was so shocked and happy about :)

@Narla2020 Aw, try not to worry to much, if you hadn't had done the test you wouldn't have even know. I also worry for worries sake, you're not alone xx

@Lolliloo Oh bless you, I hope you're ok.
She shouldn't have made you feel bad for any reason and I haven't told work yet, probably won't for a little while as Im WFH and quite sheltered at home so no risk assessment or anything needs to be done

Catladyy · 22/10/2020 15:59

@Dublindolly yes also keen on this idea! Feels so weird not being able to tell any of my friends. Several are about to have/just announcing their seconds(!) so I feel a bit left out!

@Narla2020 and @Flowerbudd yes that's exactly how it is for me. Booked a flu jab earlier and felt like a fraud. What if it's not real??

Dublindolly · 22/10/2020 21:45

Brilliant I’ll send out a link next week to everyone into this group for 1pm GMT Sunday 1st Smile

@Narla2020 don’t stress yourself out about the faintness of the test. Some of the tests have rubbish ink so once it was a little bit visible then that’s the main thing. Big hugs though because it’s not easy seeing that. Your dr will hopefully put your mind at ease soon.

@Flowerbudd totally copying you now...I’ve booked a scan for the 21st. I will be just at the end of my ninth week then so I figured I hopefully will get to see a big more. I’m tempted to book an earlier one too

I bought my partner a daddy to be book.. I figure if I have to go through all this. He needs to be supporting by knowing as much :-p

@Catladyy 100% feel the same. Two people in our close circle announced. I really can’t wait to tell them all. On the plus the covid situation will make it easy to hide a bump for a while when it comes!

Ive also found myself in a situation already...I’m in Dublin and it’s level 5 lockdown. In order to keep ourselves sane my friend and I have been gifting each other air bnb online experiences to do together. (Which I really recommend btw) but I think the one she picked for this weekend is a boozy drag queen cocktails thing. I’m going to have to make up something that looks like alcohol to play along...I feel guilty like such a fraud but we agreed outside family will be 12 week mark.

Garman · 22/10/2020 22:35

@Dublindolly I'm in Ireland too. Make mojitos or any kind of cocktail and just leave out the alcohol, easy! Smile

Flowerbudd · 23/10/2020 05:41

@Dublindolly Thanks for sorting it :)
Ooh Im from the South East, about 40 mins from London but luckily not in a tier 2 yet...just the usual rules.

Ahh exciting!! Sorry, Its my midwife app on the 21st but Im booking a private scan for when Im 9+1 weeks as well on the 27th November. I want one earlier also but i want to be able to see more! It's so tricky hehe

Thats such a good idea about the air bnb, try and do some mocktails or say you're on antibiotics for something so you can't drink?

Also cannot sleep again!!

Rachetine · 23/10/2020 08:39

Morning all, also up for a zoom call, great idea!

I see a lot of people are having symptoms, I am four weeks today and having none at all! Did they come on late for you guys? Am I early still? If it wasn’t for those two little lines I’d have no clue, feel totally normal.

Also, does anyone else have cats? As this has been playing on my mind a lot. We have a ragdoll who is very needy, hates to be left alone, will follow you from room to room and doesn’t like to be left for a second. He will literally follow me to the bathroom and sit on my lap while I pee 😂. I know it’s not safe to have a cat in a room with a sleeping baby, but I’m anticipating issues if we try and lock him out overnight! He’s sleeping curled right into my side right now. Wondering if anyone else is in the same boat!

Rachetine · 23/10/2020 08:40

@Flowerbudd I’m also South East about 40 mins from London! I wonder if we’re close? I’m very near Windsor

Flowerbudd · 23/10/2020 08:49

@Rachetine Im also pretty much symptomless as well. The only thing I have is im much more hungry and felt sick last night, think it was more hunger sick than anything but really feeling ok ☺️

Nope, no cats but we do have a 10 old month puppy that is literally a lapdog and we joke she's a cat..i would start slowly shutting doors being you so he can used to being on his own (hard I know) our pup sleeps downstairs and isn't allowed upstairs which she hated at first but eventually got used to it.

@Rachetine Ahh lovely, yes, Im probably about 30 mins from Windsor, straight up the M4 and an hour drive from London. I say 40 mins, that would be on the train so quite close :)
