Midwife telephone appt 13/10

Forgot to say also that my DD is around end May-start June 2021 (messed up cycles make it hard to estimate!)

Can I join this thread too? I'm also a first time scottish mama, been a bit absent from MN the last few days, was getting very obsessed and feeling like my symptoms were disappearing but they're coming and going! So took a step back 😂

24 years old
5+3 weeks, EDD 31/05
Midwife appt 14/10
Waiting for scan appt but will have private one at 9 weeks ❤️

TheDaydreamBelievers · 01/10/2020 09:25

Sorry @HeyDW96 didnt realise you were a Scot! Hello again Smile. I'm a bit symptomless this week too!

Fruitloops34 · 01/10/2020 09:29

Hiya!

Also first time for me, 9+1 currently.
Had an early scan at 6+3 and everything fine.
First for me, age 34.
EDD 05/05/2021.
My midwife appointment was weeks ago, so much so I can’t remember the date.

HeyDW96 · 01/10/2020 09:30

I really started to panic and my breasts haven't been sore or sensitive atall, and they had been even before I got a positive FRER. The pain is back today though, along with headaches and waking up twice through the night 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

I've learned that pregnant women are hard to please, no symptoms don't make us happy and too many can make you miserable!

SugarPlumRoar · 01/10/2020 09:40

Great idea @TheDaydreamBelievers

This will be my 2nd baby
33 years old
My last cycle was a bit messed up so I'm anywhere between 4+2 and 5 weeks. EDD anywhere between 2 and 6th June.

I've booked for a midwife appointment but so far they won't give me a time or date I've just to standby for a phone call.

I've been feeling pretty rubbish since before my test was even positive with sore boobs and pulling/cramps. Sickness started just after my positive test although it's been a bit less severe yesterday and today so far.

I've been put on iron already, struggling to keep them down when I take them and they're making my constipation so much worse so if anyone has any tips to ease it that involves bland beige food as that's all I can stomach let me knowGrin

Sexnotgender · 01/10/2020 09:41

Can I sneak in under the wire at 12+5😂

ScottishLassie91 · 01/10/2020 10:49

Hey all, jumping on here 😊

Currently 6+2 and based on LMP and ovulation date, due approx 26th May.

Private 8 week scan booked for 13th October
Midwife appt on 21st October
Epilepsy Pregnancy Nurse also booked for 21st October
12 week scan on 13th November (also my birthday) 😀

So far boobs have been so painful and really bad nausea but not being sick 🤢

Buttercup20 · 01/10/2020 11:23

God I'm super early joining this at 3+4 😳

Phoned to book onto the system this morning so now waiting for a midwife to call me. Very nervous as I'm very over weight so dreading what they will say ☹️ Does anyone know how long roughly they normally take to first call you?

Boobs have been tingly this week and mild cramping at the moment other than that nothing else yet but I know I'm extremely early.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 01/10/2020 11:32

@Buttercup20 unfortunately depends on the healthboard! NHS ggc you call them and they just book your appts then on the phone. Others say a midwife will call you down the line

Sexnotgender · 01/10/2020 11:34

My booking appointment was at 6+4

Buttercup20 · 01/10/2020 11:41

@TheDaydreamBelievers

Thanks yeah they've said they will call me but hopefully its soon even if they don't see me for a bit. I have the fear I go and there's nothing there or something!

Does anyone know how it works with partners just now due to covid?

TheDaydreamBelievers · 01/10/2020 11:48

@Buttercup20 your appts will be:

  1. a telephone appt with a midwife at about 8-9 weeks. Some healthboard are giving a date and time for this, some not
  2. the scan at approx 12 weeks, partners can still come to this

I'm assuming they'll also send us for bloods after the week 8/9 telephone call

OP posts:
TheDaydreamBelievers · 01/10/2020 11:49

Ps I have that fear too, its so long to wait without any proof apart from positive tests!

OP posts:
Buttercup20 · 01/10/2020 12:13

@TheDaydreamBelievers

Thanks so much for the info just a pity they don't actually tell you anything. Last thing you want is the phone call when you're in work or something!! Ah brilliant news regarding the scan that was my one concern as he'd be gutted.

Glad it's not just me. I've done about 6 tests just to keep making sure 🙈 need to stop or I'll go loopy!!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 01/10/2020 12:18

@Buttercup20 I've done a cheapie strip test every morning BlushBlushBlush

Need to wean myself off them! Trying to drop to one a week haha. Just so long to wait, but I dont think an early scan would make me any less anxious

I'm also lucky - because of my super messed up cycles I think I am getting my scan at week 10 not 12 (cause nhs go from last period)

mrswilso · 01/10/2020 12:23

Great idea @TheDaydreamBelievers

I'm 30 y/o and hubby is 39. This is our first bubba 🥰
Based on OPK, I'm 4+5 today.
Booking appointment on Monday, just booked an early scan for Saturday 24/10 when I'll be around 8 weeks exactly.

Sexnotgender · 01/10/2020 12:33

@Buttercup20 I had my 12 week scan yesterday and partners were allowed. It varies by health board, I’m in Fife. Worth calling to check ahead of time. My letter said no partners but that is incorrect.

Sexnotgender · 01/10/2020 12:34

@TheDaydreamBelievers I only got bloods done at 12 weeks.

singleandttc · 01/10/2020 12:49

Hi, can I join? I'm 5+5 with my second.

I've got a dating scan on 12th Oct at 7+2 to confirm dates before NIPT bloods about 10 weeks.

My booking appointment is 19th Oct. It's face to face which I was a bit surprised at. I thought they were all phone appointments just now. I'm hoping I'll get my 12 week scan appointment date around then.

I've also booked a private gender scan on 19th December. The local scan places only had one time slot left that I could do so I figured I better book it sooner rather than later. Sadly the nhs NIPT test doesn't look at sex so I'll have to wait until the private scan at 17 weeks to find out. I'm desperate to know.

Kamiros · 01/10/2020 12:59

Hi ladies

I'm 38, first baby for us. I'm 6 weeks today and due on 27th May. I'm also in Fife and have my booking in appointment next Thursday.

Not had much in the way of symptoms which is worrying me no end, may just have to accept I'm lucky and try and enjoy that though.

Fruitloops34 · 01/10/2020 13:09

My Health board is Ayrshire & Arran and my 12 scan letter came through last week for 20 October. It said no partners allowed but whoever has sent it has scored a big line through that bit so I’m going to assume they are now allowed.

rosegoldivy · 01/10/2020 13:09

Hey ladies.

I'm 33, in Glasgow and this will be baby no2, not planned but very much a happy suprise baby no2. DD is only 14months so I will have 2 under 2 come next June.

I was on the pill and my period never came back so I'm unsure exactly of how far along I am or due date but reckon I'm about 5 weeks give or take a few days .

I've got a private scan booked for 1st November when I think I will be about 9 weeks. Phoned our midwife to book in and they said they will phone for 1st appointment in a few weeks.

Only really had sore boobs so far but if this pregnancy is Anything like my last I have about 2 weeks before I start some serious toilet hugging

TheDaydreamBelievers · 01/10/2020 13:37
