Anyone else just found out/newly pregnant?

I tested v positive this morning, with est ovulation 07.09.2020 and est due date 31.05.2021. So basically only 4 weeks pregnant?

I'm feeling only tiny symptoms - a bit bloat, crampy, fluttery tummy and a bit gassy.

Finding myself so nervous about potential miscarriage. Checking for blood every time I wee! Just exercised and worried throughout about somehow harming it Blush

Anyone else in the same position?

@TheDaydreamBelievers thanks for sharing all the appointment info so far, I’ve still not even phoned up as my positive was so faint the hubby wants to hold off the excitement until end of this week when I agreed I would hold off to test again (technically only just missed my AF yesterday haha!!) I did get the CB digital last Wednesday. Will phone up this week I reckon. Btw did you get a number direct to midwife or phone your GP? I’m so new to this I have no idea what I’m doing.

I’ve always just phoned my GP and then they look at the available midwife appointments. For my last two babies, I’ve received a letter for a booking in appointment with the midwife after phonecall to the GP.

ScottishLassie91 · 28/09/2020 09:51

@PandemicBabyPlz when I called my GP they just gave me a number to call to refer to the midwife and then I got all.my appointments there and then over the phone. I'm in greater glasgow clyde healthboard x

PandemicBabyPlz · 28/09/2020 10:25

@ScottishLassie91 @North1982 thank you both!!

How is everyone doing? Start of another week, anyone finding it already difficult not to spill the beans - or find work just isn’t of any interest now?

North1982 · 28/09/2020 10:29

I have already told a couple of people- the way I see it, if things go wrong, at least I’ll have supportive friends who know about it. Know what you mean about work, I really can’t concentrate

rosegoldivy · 28/09/2020 10:38

I went and got a clearblue test and I'm 2-3 weeks pregnant.

Does that mean I'm really about 5 weeks pregnant?

I have no idea as my period never actually came back after coming off it.

I've not been taking folic acid as obv we weren't planning baby 2 until after Xmas so now I'm panicking and worried about not taking it I'm the run up to falling preg

TheDaydreamBelievers · 28/09/2020 11:26

@rosegoldivy welcome ! Yes you add 2 weeks to the clearblue number. Just start folic asap and I'm sure all will be okay 😊. Maybe check with your GP in case they want to put you on a high dose.

@PandemicBabyPlz its dependent on your healthboard. Some like NHS GGC have a midwife line. Others you call the GP first.

@North1982 I told my best pal on Saturday and she was thrilled for us but also cautious cause I am cautious about how early it is. Will tell other people after our nhs scan (at 10 weeks for me)

@Thedaydreambelievers I was up at asda first thing this morning for folic acid and preg vitamins.
Still trying to wrap my head around it all! I only went back to work after my first maternity leave in April!
Husband has took it in his stride and a lot better than me!
Just feel so anxious as we hadn't planned to fall pregnant again so soon.... But here we are!! Must be fate!

KayV002 · 28/09/2020 12:44

Hello all,

First time pregnant after been told I’d never carry a child.

Only took a test to rule out pregnancy. But had 2 positive tests but keep getting severe cramps and small amount of spotting. DR said not to worry. I am around 6 weeks now and had no bleeding for a few days but had worst cramps ever experienced before yesterday. Is this normal has anyone else had this before. Worried I’ve MC.

SarahTTC2020 · 28/09/2020 14:32

Hi everyone, I had my first bfp on Saturday morning and am 13dpo today. Wish I could concentrate and stop reading MN threads about chemical pregnancy 🙈
Can't tell when I would be due as my cycles are so irregular
No symptoms except maybe wind and bloated feelings down there.

Mimba1 · 28/09/2020 14:57

@KayV002, not sure why I clicked this thread as I'm not due in May but I saw your message. I've had 2 MC. This is my third pregnancy and I had sharp pains at 7wks exactly the same as I had with my first MC and so was convinced the same thing would happen. I had my 12wk scan last week and there was a happy healthy 12wk baby in there. So you really can't tell. Most pregnancies are successful and always remember you get a distorted view on MN - nobody comes on here because they're absolutely fine, not worrying at all and have all the information they need! I hope everything works out for you.

KayV002 · 28/09/2020 15:03

Thanks trying to stay positive . Have never heard of anyone having similar pains and not having similar pains. Need to just keep testing positive until midwife is in touch. Got everything crossed

Amethyst2502 · 28/09/2020 16:37

Can anyone help me figure out how many weeks I am? My LMP started 26th August and I'm currently 11dpo but my last 3 cycles all had a short luteal phase but the overall cycles have been 30-32 days. Keep seeing conflicting ways of how it is all calculated!

SarahTTC2020 · 28/09/2020 16:41

@Amethyst2502 whattoexpect.com has a calc where you can use conception date to estimate, which might be better for you as you.seem to have ovulated quite late on in your cycle, so LMP might calculate you as further on than you are

TheDaydreamBelievers · 28/09/2020 16:46

@Amethyst2502 if you are sure about ovulation day you are 3 weeks + 4 days pregnant

Amethyst2502 · 28/09/2020 16:50

@SarahTTC2020 @TheDaydreamBelievers thanks both, I'm pretty certain on my ov date I've never temped but opk's seemed to suggest it was on the 17th so will go with that.

My app was suggesting I was a week ahead of what I actually am which seemed too far!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 28/09/2020 16:58

@Amethyst2502 if your app is a more basic algorithm itll try to take your last period date. The NHS do the same, so my scan is approx week 10 not 12, as they've dated from my last period (I did tell them it was wrong and my cycles were haywire!)

How are we all? I'm feeling so tired this afternoon

Love hugs and sticky baby dust xxx

HeyDW96 · 28/09/2020 17:10

@Tipptopgirl oh I'm so sorry! That's horrible 🙁 sending love your way x

SarahTTC2020 · 28/09/2020 17:12

@TheDaydreamBelievers I just can't drag myself away from MN today! I'm so distracted I've barely done any work, just been reading about % chances of CP which doesn't help anyone.

@Tipptopgirl so sorry to hear that xx

SugarPlumRoar · 28/09/2020 17:17

@TheDaydreamBelievers I feel you on the tiredness front, I'm constantly shattered but seem to have an inability to sleep at night.

I tried the maternity unit today to see if they would be able to tell me at least a day when the midwife will call for my booking in appointment to be shot down in flames, they won't even given me a week so I'm not quite sure what I'm supposed to do.

I work from home at the moment but large parts of my days are being spent on tele/video conferences and I can't just stop in the middle of them to answer a call particularly one that is supposed to last 45 minutes.

I know they're taking extra precautions due to covid-19 but I'm less than impressed at the moment

Mishmased · 28/09/2020 19:04

@Tipptopgirl I'm so sorry! Sending you loads of love and strength. Take it easy and be kind to yourself❤️❤️❤️

rosegoldivy · 28/09/2020 19:57

@sugarplumroar I'm sure from memory I didn't have my booking in appointment with the midwife until I was about 9 weeks.

I'm in Scotland though and we phone our usual doctors and ask to make the appointment with the midwife. I only found out last night and today is a Bank Holiday so will be phoning tomorrow to see what happens with all the covid procedures

SugarPlumRoar · 28/09/2020 20:05

@rosegoldivy I'm Scotland too, with my DD I was the same made an appointment through my GP and saw the practice midwife. It seems in the 5 years since it's now changed and we now need to contact the maternity unit at the hospital and its all centralised.

It might be different for every NHS area though. I can't recall how many weeks I was seen at with DD I think it might have been around 8 weeks

TheDaydreamBelievers · 28/09/2020 20:15

Yeah @rosegoldivy in nhs ggc scotland it's now a direct midwife line. I've got my 9 week appt at 12 week scan booked via that line
