Thanks @SkyBlue20 and @JoJo58995, nobody ever warns you of all the pains in pregnancy do they lol, so you just think oh no that’s not good. My mum can’t even remember having pains. Maybe she’s forgot or didn’t get 🤷🏼‍♀️ I can’t believe how big I am for 14+6 lol. Will attach a photo. Feel like I’m growing every day now.

@Starfish762 congratulations if I hadn’t already posted, sorry baby brain 😅 ❤️ Xxx

Pugprincess · 23/10/2020 05:15

And baby brain forgets to attach the photo 🤦🏼‍♀️

SkyBlue20 · 23/10/2020 07:37

Morning!

Having a slight panic this morning as not feeling pregnant again and realised the Montgomery’s tubercles on my nipples appear to have disappeared even though I had loads and my boobs feel much less sore and engorged (though still huge with massive and dark areola...tmi). Hopefully it’s just me overthinking and anxiety for my impending scan (why do I get the anxiety for like a week before it?!) but I’m worrying something is wrong. Just not feeling pregnant at all, my bump is smaller (though is always big again by the evening), my boobs are better, I don’t know. Such a horrible time feeling better but no kicks, it’s limbo, am terrified for my scan next week, too 😫

Anyway, on that positive Friday morning note...

Lovely bump, @Pugprincess! 🥰

Hope everyone is well, only today to get through before the weekend! 🥳

SkyBlue20 · 23/10/2020 07:52

I take it back, they haven’t disappeared, they’re just less pronounced, maybe because my boobs aren’t as engorged (I hate that word)? Either way, I was having a panic. Found myself googling symptoms of late miscarriage. Have stopped now and told myself to STOP IT. Seems I’m just looking for anything that might show something is wrong - maybe an unintentional self preservation technique in case anything is wrong on Tue? Dismissing it from my mind, positive vibes only, stressing is no good for the baby.
Sorry all, morning meltdown from me there 😫🙈

Simmy20 · 23/10/2020 08:25

Oh no @SkyBlue20. What a horrible start to your morning to be feeling like that. I'm sure it's just scanxiety and everything is all fine. Hope it goes quickly until your scan xx

JoJo58995 · 23/10/2020 08:29

@SkyBlue20 I'm sorry you're feeling so anxious again. Don't be so hard on yourself about feeling these emotions, we've been through a lot and its changed how we view things so its completely understandable to have these worries. I don't feel as rough today (12+5) and I'm sure its because I was more relaxed and slept better (and am apparently heading towards the stage where it's normal to not feel as rough....) but still the doubts creep in. Its only 2 days since my scan and ages until my next one (we'll have a 16w one if we get that far but it still seems like forever!!). I don't think we'll get rid of these feelings, I think we just have to be kind to ourselves and then try to remember previous scans with our babies wriggling around. Sending you lots of positive vibes and hope the time passes quickly until Tuesday 💕

Pugprincess · 23/10/2020 09:19

Bless you @SkyBlue20 I bet it is the anxiety creeping in! It plays proper mind games with you. Hope you feel some movements before scan to give you reassurance 🙏🏻🤞🏻❤️ If it helps my boobs vary, when I’m cold they still shrink tiny? They are a bit bigger when warm but I’m no where near burger nips stage yet 😅 some days they hurt, others not so much. X

Pugprincess · 23/10/2020 09:20

Whoops meant my nipples shrink when cold not my boobs, that would be weird 😂😂😂🤦🏼‍♀️

DanceM1 · 23/10/2020 09:41

@pugprincess ah sorry I understand now!! Yeah I dont know how working from home would look in reality! 🙈 Also, I get the pains exactly like you describe them.. had them very early on as well.

@skyBlue20 it will definitelt be the dreaded scanxiety. I was a wreck a week before my 20 week scan. Got really upset and convinced something must be wrong. Was convinced my boobs had shrunk etc. Try not to worry (says me!) I'm sure everything will be ok and soon you will have the reassurance you need.

ew1990 · 23/10/2020 10:09

@Jojo congratulations!

@skyblue20 sorry your feeling so anxious. I Was starting to proper relax after a scan and a phone call this morning has just proper pissed on my chips!

Doctor rang from hospital to say there was protein in my urine so can I go in on Monday with another urine sample and to have bloods taken to check my kidney function. He said it could be a sign of pre eclampsia so he want to check my blood pressure too even though it was ok at my scan. I'm scared now that something's wrong with the placenta and it's not working properly.

Nothing's ever just plain sailing is it?

SkyBlue20 · 23/10/2020 13:00

Thank you everybody - I think it's just pre-scan anxiety. @DanceM1 sorry you had it, too 😔 but very reassuring also. I went to meet up with my business partner this morning, which was a welcome distraction. Now back working from home and trying to not nap but I am SO tired!

@ew1990 Oh no, so sorry, that must be such a worry. Sure everything will be fine though - even if it is preeclampsia, it's good they've found it already and can start treating it. Will they get back to you the same day with your new results? Sending love.

SkyBlue20 · 23/10/2020 13:24

And I just got a twitch/feeling of one big bubble popping in what I think would be around the right place (almost in line with hip bone but closer to belly button than hip)! Could have been wind but telling myself it was the little one sending out some reassurance 🤞🏼

(God I really need to stop overthinking every little movement in there 😂🤦🏻‍♀️)

Sakura54 · 23/10/2020 13:33

@Pugprincess My mum also thinks it’s odd that I keep getting pains even though she’s had a few kids herself, but it was like this when I was pregnant before too. She thinks it’s because I don’t walk softly enough, for goodness' sake lol. I didn’t bother telling her that pregnant women can still exercise. Achy and tired is the norm for me when pregnant. Nearly 22w and I’ve been sleepier the last few days.

@SkyBlue20 I’ve also googled things like late MC when wondering if something is wrong, but I can imagine things are worse for you due to no movement and it’s not going to help when MWs/sonographers will ask you if you feel anything when you next see them. I’ve been asked by 4 different ones recently. Your scan is so soon though! I know you’ll see your little girl wriggling about.

Did you guys know that apparently babies born after 27w are likely to survive and have no health problems!? (Yes, I actually googled to find out). I find that such a reassuring and comforting thought.
@bubblybon20 That’s not that long for us at all! Before I thought 24w was the milestone but that would be very bad still. DS was only a month premature, so barely a preemie and they are monitoring me for now, but either way having a preemie is a scary thought!

OP posts:
ew1990 · 23/10/2020 14:54

@skyblue20 I'm not sure. They just said they wanted to double check but I sent ha e high blood pressure or anything. I know I'm gunna check my urine at work on Sunday and see if there's protein in it 🙈🙈 it's one worry after another.

Ooh that definitely sounds like movement. Mine first felt like bubbles popping. I haven't really felt much yesterday but had some kicks low down on left side today so I think she's moved and gone behind my placenta. Not long now till your scan!!

@sakura that's good to know about 27 weeks. 24 weeks was my next milestone but I think I might make it 27 weeks now

ew1990 · 23/10/2020 14:54

That's supposed to say I didn't have high blood pressure!

MrsK21 · 23/10/2020 14:57

@Starfish762 so pleased you had a great scan! such good news! I've got another booked for next weekend, when I will hopefully be 8+4. I feel like time is majorly dragging....

SkyBlue20 · 23/10/2020 15:05

Sorry @Sakura54 but had to laugh at your mum saying you don’t walk softly enough 😂🙈 Thank you for the reassurance ☺️ I did read that about 27 weeks, I feel like that’ll be here before we know it! Will be so reassuring to get to that point, it’s definitely my next milestone after the scan.

@ew1990 Ooh yeah, good that you can check at work and get answers sooner rather than later! Hopefully it’s nothing, just a dodgy sample and all is fine 🤞🏼 I think maybe it was movement as I had a similar feeling (less of a bubble more of a twitch) about 10-15mins later too and all of my googling finds a lot of people saying they would describe it as a twitch. Nothing since but wouldn’t expect them all the time if they were my first two. How good if it was - little girl sending me reassurance when I need it most!

@MrsK21 Exciting that you have another scan booked in - after that you won’t be TOO far away from 12 weeks!

Workingmama1 · 23/10/2020 15:14

@ew1990 how frustrating getting that call from the doctor! It could be something it could be nothing, but having ok BP at your scan is a good starting point. At least they seem to be looking after you.

@skyblue20 scanaxiety is real! But it sounds like maybe you've felt some movement... u keep thinking I feel movement but I'm not convinced yet its not just gas 🤣

Took my daughter to the sealife centre and Trafford Centre today, I'm am now knackered and my back is killing me! But we picked out a little outfit for the baby which is the first thing I've brought which was nice.

@pugprincess lovely bump, cooking along nicely there! Im still getting aches and pains, I've decided as long as it's not agony it's probably OK, tends to be worse in the evening for some reason. If I was you I'd push for a minimum of doing 121 interventions with kids rather than being in the classroom if you can from 28 weeks. As a TA I'd imagine its even harder to socially distance as you tend to be sat right with them and can't just stay at the front! I think the guidance now is pretty relaxed so your school could essentially do what they want, but as cases rise that might change again.

RosieJess91 · 23/10/2020 15:24

Was supposed to have my 16 week midwife appointment today (spoke to the midwife on the phone to cancel it and she said I would be hearing the heartbeat, so sad I've had to reschedule!), had to reschedule because I had a call from my son's school to tell me he had taken a tumble and split his eyebrow open. So ended up in A&E instead... Been glued back together now, and he seems fine, except a massive bruise around his eye and the fact that even after gluing it, it's still bleeding. 🤦🏼‍♀️ just glad that it happened at school, because he has so many accidents and so many trips to A&E I was starting to worry they'd get social services involved. At least now they know how accident prone he is!!

ew1990 · 23/10/2020 15:34

@rosiejess sorry about your son and that you've had to reschedule.

I guess if it was important they wouldn't make me wait till Monday.

I've been moved wards at work since I found out coz I was on a query covid ward. My manager is going to see if the guidance is still the same about going on medical suspension at 28 weeks. I really hope so because nowhere is 100% safe. And I'd finish in 8 weeks and would have a lovely 3 month off with DD before new baby arrives! She saw the scan pic yesterdAy and said she wants her baby sister. Took the picture and tucked it under her blanket with her. I'm so excited for her!

bubblybon20 · 23/10/2020 16:35

@Sakura54 yes I know! It's not that far really when we think about it, the weeks seem to be going really fast! 😍 obviously with Christmas coming up I always find that flies by especially with having other children!
I've never had a premature baby, mine have always been late! Would really like him to be born in February though, although it'll be touch and to 2 days 🤣🤣

SmileyT · 23/10/2020 16:57

@Starfish762 congrats on the scan ❤️

@Pugprincess such a lovely bump 🥰

@SkyBlue20 I think it's completely normal to feel a bit anxious before a scan, I've got my 20w on Monday and I've definitely had a google of 2nd trimester MCs but just try and remember that the odds are in our favour and I'm sure there will be more successful scans next week xx

@ew1990 glad they are looking after you and hopefully nothing serious... also wouldn't it be lovely to be at home from 28weeks and spend some special time with your little lady x

@Sakura54 my sister was born around 30weeks and didn't even go into the NICU, she was the earliest and lightest of us at just over 4lbs and she was perfect 💖 That was 30years ago and it's fab to think how far we've come since then, although I do think babies were smaller/ earlier in the past x

@MrsK21 cant wait to see your next scan of your little bean 🥰🥰

It's the weekend so hopefully all you lovely ladies have a nice relaxing one ahead xx

Simmy20 · 23/10/2020 22:00

My friends baby was born 26+6 and I'm going to her first birthday party today. It's amazing how far she has come. Long hard road for mum and dad but looks like she is perfectly fine with no lasting problems.

I also know of another baby born in week 24 which was again tough for mum and dad but he also seems to be doing perfectly fine now and won't be too long until his first birthday. It's amazing what modern medicine can do.

Only 2 days until my scan. Hopefully the weekend goes quick. I feel sick every time I think about it. Really hoping to see a baby and not an empty sac again. There wasn't even a yolk sac previously though so I'm not liking my chances. Haven't had any bleeding or spotting for a week and still getting symptoms so I'm trying to stay positive but I will be really shocked if there is a baby

Starfish762 · 24/10/2020 08:24

Thank you all for your well wishes, still can’t believe it! It was more of a baby shape than I would’ve thought for 8 weeks too. Going to try & hold off till 12w scan now but we’ll see! I would def pay for more reassurance scans in between 12-20w NHS scans coz that’s a long time, but I feel like 4 weeks I should try & wait (watch this space 😂).

@Pugprincess lovely bump! Reassuring too at 14w. With DD I had nothing until I was 30w, mental!

@MrsK21 not long to wait (although feels like forever I’m sure!) Everything crossed you see a healthy little bean & a flashing HB.

@SkyBlue20 how are you feeling now? Really not nice being consumed by anxiety, nothing anyone says can convince you otherwise. The over analysing everything is so unhealthy though, we need to try & stop (or at least stop doing it constantly 😂). Seeing our little bean with a heartbeat made me realise how ridiculous I’d been worrying & not sleeping coz I don’t have any symptoms, I was lucky with DD too but the MC has tainted everything. It’s inevitable for us to be paranoid & scared but we have to try & remember the scans & the figures not let it all consume us. I really think BLAW affected my stress levels coz it was all right there millions of stories from early MC right through to the unimaginable, but we have to remember these are stories from women all over the UK from over the years, such a huge population of people. Once we’ve passed 12 & 20w are risk is so low ❤️

@ew1990 hopefully the protein goes away & it’s not PE 🤞🏼 If it is they’ve caught it early so everything will be just fine xx

@Workingmama1 aww show us what you bought for the baby? 💜

@RosieJess91 hope your son’s okay now? What a worry? DD is 3.5 & very accident prone too, makes them tough cookies at least!

@Simmy20 Sending love to you, must’ve felt like an eternity having to wait. Got everything crossed for you xxxx

SkyBlue20 · 24/10/2020 08:59

Morning all!

Another terrible night’s sleep between the cat being a pest, being too hot, being too cold, being thirsty, needing a wee, being on my side, being on my back... 😫 On the plus side 20 WEEKS TODAY! I’m half way through! 🥳 Feels like a huge milestone!

@Workingmama1 Sounds like a lovely day. Was the Trafford Centre busy? Keep thinking I’m going to have to tackle it at some point 😫 Exciting about the outfit, too 🥰 Baby has a cardi and a hat from us but my mum has already bought it about three outfits, she’s getting very spoilt already. I have so many things saved to buy after the scan, too 😂

@RosieJess91Oh your poor son, how’s he doing today? Poor you, too, how stressful - and frustrating about having to change the appointment. When’s your new one?

@ew1990 That’s so cute from your daughter! 🥰 Hope you can finish work at 28 weeks, that would be so soon and would be lovely to have that time together.

@SmileyT You’re right, the odds are in our favour. Good luck for your scan, sure we’ll both be here with lovely news early next week ☺️

@Simmy20 You’ve been so strong through this wait and it’s so close now. Sending all of the positive vibes over to you, hope it’s great news xx

@Starfish762 I had a scan at EPU at 8ish weeks after a bleed and already had a private scan booked in at 10 weeks (I was fully intending on waiting until then) and the difference was massive...just in case you might be tempted 😂 I was quite glad actually as my 12 week scan wasn’t until 13+3 😒
I’m not feeling too bad this morning, thank you - in a ‘yay, 20 weeks!’ mood rather than allowing myself to worry. Think it helps that I think I felt movement yesterday, too, just hoping for more now (I’m never happy 😂) Thank you for your wise words, too, you’re completely right, of course!

Hope everyone has a nice weekend ahead of them xx
