@SmileyT I know 🙈 I keep waking up in the night 🤦🏼‍♀️ Think it’s because I fall asleep so early 😅 probably pregnancy insomnia lol

@ew1990 good luck for today 🤞🏻❤️

SkyBlue20 · 20/10/2020 11:36

Morning everyone!

Good luck today, @Ew1990. Hope you’re managing to keep busy while you wait. Xx

@Threnody Sorry you’re feeling so rotten, hope it eases a bit soon for you xx

@RosieJess91 Fab on the car boot, that was so meant to be. Got to love a range of music listening! DH and I are really into music so are pulling together a playlist of all of our favourite bands/songs to play to baby now that she can hear, it’s quite eclectic!
I also had a huge house clean this weekend, like @PugPrincess the house had just been neglected so I dedicated the weekend to it and it feels so much nicer. I now want to repaint all of the woodwork and some of the walls though – I think that’s my nesting coming out 😂

@Coffee4me Glad the scan went well, congratulations 🥰

@WorkingMama1 Agreed on being glad we don’t get the numbers for the screening – it could have been 1 in 100million and I still would have overthought it. Was annoying at the time though. I got asked at my 16-week appt if I’d had my results, said I’d not heard anything which I was told was a good thing and she just said yes and carried on. Have you booked your gender scan? So exciting!

@simmy20 The sickness sounds really reassuring, hope the next six days go quickly for you.

Thanks everyone for your reassurance, too – I do expect that once I feel movements I’ll be constantly worrying when I haven’t felt them, too, it’s just never-ending worry for the rest of our lives now, isn’t it?! A week to go until my 20-week scan, after which I’ll relax for a few days at least. Watched the video from our private scan last night to remind myself she was thrashing about then and I couldn’t feel her so it’s likely the same now. Am also feeling very nauseous today, which is reassuring.
I just read that Kate Lawler (DJ, was on Big Brother maybe the first year) is 22 weeks pregnant and put a post on Instagram about how she needed to buy things but was worried about losing the baby still and I was just so glad to hear people talking about the anxiety behind it – just don’t read the comments if you have a look!

Hope everyone is having a good day! xx

Workingmama1 · 20/10/2020 13:29

Just booked my gender scan for next Friday! Doesn't feel too far away and I'll be exactly 17 weeks. Hoping for no more bleeding in between but feel like I may end up with a bleed and a hospital scan before then as it seems to be every 10-14 days...

Good luck @ew1990

I'm so impressed with those of you blitzing the house, I thought I'd done well mopping the floors at the weekend! We had a cleaner pre covid and I'm seriously considering getting them back in, just not sure if I'm really comfortable having people in my house touching everything who have been in lots of other houses too...

Banging headache today, I don't think I drank enough and now I'm suffering. Also told my director about my pregnancy and she rang me worrying she's not seen some work from me yet so I told her I've not been on top form so things are a little behind. She was lovely and opened up about her losses and care with her following pregnancies.

And my old manager and friend told me last night she is pregnant, just a few weeks behind me! To top it off she's just started a mega big role working directly for our CEO who gave her the job knowing she was pregnant, gives me hope as we have a restructure pending and I was worried about interviewing for roles pregnant.

Lollol86 · 20/10/2020 14:15

@SmileyT I started leaking milk early with my first, if it's enough to soak through then definitely wear pads or you will end up with massive wet patches. The shower is always the worst though, after i had my girls as soon as I got in the shower they would literally squirt out so much milk 😂

Lollol86 · 20/10/2020 14:16

@ew1990 good luck with your scan xx

Poppy10121 · 20/10/2020 14:35

@workingmama1 and @sakura54 thank you for the reassurance! I really curse the MMC for making me so anxious this time around, I am not normally like this and always thought I would be quite easygoing in pregnancy but every twinge makes me panic now. Like you both said, it does seem worse after moving around or light exercise, so will just try to put my feet up more. We have building work going on and the house is constantly dirty so I have been doing more housework than usual!

@Workingmama1 we have a cleaner normally because we used to both be out at work from 8am-7pm every day. When I was pregnant the MMC I asked her to stop coming as I was worried about Covid but this time I have kept her on, she wears a mask inside and gloves while cleaning and doesn't come into the room we are working from. My husband and I have always said the money we spend on her is worth it to save our marriage from petty arguments about cleaning, and I still feel the same even in lockdown :D

@Coffee4me glad things are going well! How are you getting on with the pessaries? I hated them at first but now at the point I will be finishing this week and I hadn’t realised what a crutch they had been to make me feel like I was positively influencing this time, I don’t really to stop!

@ew1990 hope it’s all going well today! x

ew1990 · 20/10/2020 15:23

It went perfect. I could've cried. A little girl! 💗 she's got a cute button nose just like DD and they showed me the tiniest little hands and feet.

My placenta is at the front but like at the bottom left of my stomach. And baby is all at the right side. I'm so relieved. I feel like I can start to accept it now and not spend all day worrying

SkyBlue20 · 20/10/2020 15:48

Amazing! Congratulations on your baby girl, @ew1990! 💕 So happy for you!

Lu93 · 20/10/2020 15:59

Aww fantastic news @ew1990!! 💕💕 xx

Starfish762 · 20/10/2020 16:33

@ew1990 amazing news, congratulations!

@Coffee4me yey about your scan! Such a relief I bet, and not long till the next one.

@Threnody sorry you’ve been feeling so rotten! Positive sign at least 🤞🏼

@Workingmama1 sorry to hear the brown has started up again, such a worry. But brown is generally nothing to worry about. Not long till your scan at least 🤞🏼 Great news about your colleague getting such a good role when pregnant, love hearing things like that.

@Simmy20 Really hope the time goes quick for you, so unfair having so wait so long!

I caved & booked a private scan for Thursday when I’ll be 7+5, my anxiety is through the roof - zero symptoms & the sickness & tiredness has gone just like it did with the MMC. I’ll be so shocked if it’s good news on Thursday as it all feels very familiar 😢

bubblybon20 · 20/10/2020 17:04

@ew1990 so glad your scan went well!! And omg congratulations 💗💗💗💗

Bellabubble · 20/10/2020 18:19

Hello - any chance I can join the thread? I have been a member if the TTC after MC threads since end of Feb this year. Currently 6weeks - not badly anxious (well I’m not allowing myself to indulge my anxious thoughts!) but I have an early private scan booked for early nov when I’ll hopefully be 8+4 (last pg I had a mc that started at 8+2, but the scan showed pregnancy hadn’t progressed since 5+4) so now I’m wondering if I should have booked a week earlier as 2.5weeks seems ages away, especially as next week is half term for me!

SkyBlue20 · 20/10/2020 18:50

@Workingmama1 Eeek next Friday isn't too far away at all and 17 weeks is a great time to have it. Excited for you! So lovely about your friend, too - and about the company giving her the role even though she's pregnant, that's the kind of company we all want to work for. Very reassuring for you, too.

@Starfish762 Sending love - if it helps, my symptoms dropped off a cliff around 8/9 weeks this pregnancy, I felt completely normal again for three or four days, but had a private scan already booked not long after and all was perfect. I too was so worried so I completely understand the concern. Hoping all is ok and glad you have the scan booked xx

@Bellabubble Welcome! So sorry for your loss and congrats on your new pregnancy. I think around 8 weeks is a good time to book - you can see a bit more then and I'm sure there's a stat about odds being so much better if you see a heartbeat after 8 weeks. The waiting is awful though, I'm with you on that one. Come keep yourself occupied over here, we're a nice bunch, and try to keep yourself busy day-to-day - it'll soon come around ☺️

Workingmama1 · 20/10/2020 19:18

@bellabubblr welcome! Agree with @skyblue20 8 weeks is a great time to get an early scan, ypu should be able to properly see and baby with a heartbeat by then. Taking everyday as it comes and mini milestones can help with the wait...

@ew1990 yay to another good scan and a girl!

@skyblue20 i can't believe how soon next Friday feels! I think because I had a hospital scan last week at 14+5 because of my bleeding it doesn't seem too long to wait.

@starfish762 symptoms can come and go in the 1st trimester, it doesn't always mean bad news, but I know it's hard not to worry. Thursday isn't long tonwait though and hopefully you will see a little bean with a heartbeat!

@smileyT maybe its new pregnancy giving me milk if your getting it early, its just so odd as I had completely dried up!

DanceM1 · 20/10/2020 19:26

@bellabubble welcome and congratulations! I had my first private scan at 8 weeks.. I think it is a good time to have it but I know the pain of waiting is real!

@ew1990 congratulations! Very exciting!!

@skyBlue20 I've been worrying about movements so much but suddenly felt quite a bit today.. if what I'm feeling is really baby 🤣 pretty sure it is.

@starfish762 I didnt really have any symptoms this time until after 8 weeks. It was almost as if after my first scan my body knew it was ok to remind me about the pregnancy then! Try not to worry! X

Coffee4me · 20/10/2020 19:47

@Pugprincess yes first time on both, 2 weeks now and so far so good

@Poppy10121 I found the pessaries much easier to use than I feared beforehand (got some good advise on this thread as well) Grin What week are you finishing them up, are you going cold turkey or lowering dose slowly?

@Bellabubble welcome, I'm also 6 weeks (7 tomorrow)

ew1990 · 20/10/2020 19:49

@bellabubble welcome! It is an anxious time. My symptoms disappeared around 7/8 weeks with just the odd day of sickness. I agree 8 weeks is a good time for a scan.

Thank you everyone! I so can't wait for another little girl! I'm so excited. And we've picked a pram. Not going to order it just yet though

Starfish762 · 20/10/2020 20:08

Thank you for the replies, it’s really put my mind at ease. FX! Gosh what a whirlwind this is 😂

Pugprincess · 20/10/2020 20:24

@ew1990 congratulations on a little girl 💖

Starfish762 · 20/10/2020 20:26

@ew1990 I don’t get the fascination with people wanting 1 of each, literally nothing better than a sisterly bond 💞

ew1990 · 20/10/2020 21:11

@starfish I know everyone's said I bet your hoping for a boy. I'm like no any would be nice. I grew up with 3 brothers so really cant wait for my DD to have a sister!

SkyBlue20 · 21/10/2020 06:51

Morning all! I woke up once an hour every hour from 2am and haven’t been able to get back to sleep since 6, it’s going to be a loooooong day! Spent a lot of the morning so far catastrophising in my head about my scan next week but have managed to push it away, thankfully.

How’s everyone doing? Xx

JoJo58995 · 21/10/2020 07:30

@ew1990 congratulations on the positive scan and on having a little baby girl 💕💕

@bellabubble welcome! Congratulations on the new pregnancy and I'm sorry for what you've been through before. You're in the right place. I had an NHS scan at 8w because of my previous MMC. They wouldn't do it any earlier because they said it provides so much more reassurance to have a healthy scan at 8w. I did struggle with the wait, so I would say just do what you feel most comfortable with. There is nothing wrong with having more scans to get through these early weeks that drag!

@Starfish762 got everything crossed for a positive scan tomorrow for you 🤞🤞 thinking of you.

I've got my 12w scan this morning, it feels like it has taken years to get to this point. I'm so nervous I woke up super early and now can't bet back to sleep even though I'm so tired. Just going to try to keep busy until my appointment 🥵 hope everyone is doing ok 💕 xx

Pugprincess · 21/10/2020 07:33

@SkyBlue20 morning, I am not good 😩

So I have an opticians app today that was hard to get and I’m desperate for lenses (can’t wear my mask and visor at school with glasses they just constantly steam up) but I’ve woken with what I think is an eye infection, red hurts and pussing so I think I need to call opticians and explain my situation and call docs, also keep fighting bladder infections, was burning last night. Feel ok now but should probably get a sample checked. Also breaking out in more zits after they had calmed down so Yh is anyone else falling apart and wondering if their second trimester glow got lost in the post cause I’m a mess 😩😂

Pugprincess · 21/10/2020 07:34

Aww good luck for today @JoJo58995 are you alone or can you take someone xx
