@skyblue20 oh paintings a good idea. Shed love that! The movement will just come all at once and take you by surprise. I felt something then didn't for about 2 weeks and now it's some form of movement everyday.

I'm so nervous for my scan. I can't wait to just have it now and maybe stop worrying

Starfish762 · 19/10/2020 11:54

@SkyBlue20 With DD I didn’t feel movements until I was 24 weeks, just to remind you that for some women it’s quite ‘late’ on. I’m sure the anterior placenta is contributing too. Totally understand the worry though.

I’m 7+2, and after spending the last 1-2 weeks feeling calmer I spent last night / today in a mad panic that I don’t feel sick anymore 😩 I’m still waiting for the sensitive boobs everyone talks about, they haven’t grown either. Just have to try & keep calm & busy to pass the time, going to book a private scan for next Tues (holding off as don’t want to jinx things).

Pugprincess · 19/10/2020 12:43

@SkyBlue20 yes that’s what I’m doing with the slightly propped up. My friend at work is 20 weeks with her second and she hasn’t felt anything yet either. I know what you mean though I can’t wait for that as I shouldn’t feel like I need so many scans then.

I’ve managed to wack my head on a cupboard this morning so that’s been fun 😩 got a nice lump now

MrsK21 · 19/10/2020 12:59

@ew1990 @SkyBlue20 @Pugprincess thanks for the reassurance. It seems to have reduced a lot overnight so hoping it goes away completely soon enough, fx

Pugprincess · 19/10/2020 13:09

@MrsK21 no problem. I’ve had a tinge and light brown specks in my discharge this morning. Had it last weekend too. So random. X

SkyBlue20 · 19/10/2020 13:28

@ew1990 Right with you on scan nerves (albeit a week behind you with them so probably not as intense just yet). I’m sure everything will be perfect, sending a big hand hold for tomorrow. Xx

@Starfish762 I definitely had (and have) days where I felt better than others - usually if I’d had a decent night’s sleep. Sure you’ll be longing to feel well again tomorrow, try not to worry too much. Xx

Thank you everyone for the movements reassurance - I know I’m just being impatient (sums me up) and so many friends I’ve also asked have said they didn’t feel anything until after 20 weeks, but I just wish I could peer in there and make sure she’s still wriggling around happily. I think it’s that classic so close and yet so far feeling - I know that feeling movements is within reach so I just want it NOW. Plus it’s been a week and a bit since my last scan so that reassurance is wearing off. Trying to remain positive though, I’m sure she’s having a whale of a time in there, dancing around and beating me up! 😂 🥰

ew1990 · 19/10/2020 13:47

@skyblue this was the longest part in my pregnancy last time. The awkward stage where you have had your first scan but not feeling pregnant and it seems ages till the 20 week one.

Poppy10121 · 19/10/2020 14:11

Thanks @SkyBlue20 😘 I thought it was either you or @Workingmama1 who mentioned it a couple of weeks ago, was scrolling back through the thread but it’s just so long now!! Think part of it is digestive issues today too, so hoping I feel better tomorrow 🤞

Threnody · 19/10/2020 14:24

Hello ladies, sorry I've not been on much, just reading back now. Some lovely bump pics.

@Dipsy77 two little girls, how exciting! What lovely scan pics.

@SkyBlue20 I'm sure you'll feel movements soon.

@MRJ86 sorry you're feeling anxious - me too! I think that's pretty normal. What the other ladies have said, about little milestones, and taking things a day at a time has been helping me.

@Lu93 if you're really worried, you could always have an nipt - I did that with my youngest, as I had a similar score to you for him, and it put my mind at rest.

@DanceM1 you definitely have to let us know what name the children pick!

@Pugprincess it's fine to lie back propped up on cushions. You should try to avoid sleeping on your back later in pregnancy as the weight of the baby can squash your vena cava, and cause problems for you (like backaches etc), and restrict blood flow to the baby - but it's fine for short periods. I've had plenty of panics waking up on my back with previous pregnancies, and it's all been fine. How exciting you've got the moses basket!

@Workingmama1 ooh - how exciting, a potential boy!

@Simmy20 oh gosh, sorry you've still got a while to wait, must be so hard. Glad you've stopped spotting. Have you got things to do to try to take your mind off everything?

@MrsK21 sorry you're feeling so poorly. Such good news about your scan, so please for you. Sorry to hear about the discharge.

@ew1990 good luck for your scan tomorrow.

I'm 6+2 today (time is going so slowly), and the nausea has really ramped up a level - found it very difficult to do anything yesterday. Looks like it is going to be all day morning sickness for me again - though at least I haven't been sick (yet). Still getting lots of pains and twinges, and still as anxious as ever. I can't decide whether to go for an early scan, I'm not sure it would help, and there isn't anywhere close to go for one.

RosieJess91 · 19/10/2020 15:29

@skyblue20 it does, sitting in the room waiting to be put up now. Need to paint the room first. Got a few free babygrows as well, my OH loves a car boot sale, so we popped down to our nearest one yesterday, someone was obviously just trying to get rid of everything and was just giving away everything for free. Brand new, still in the pack and yellow, so neutral! Happy days!
My OH started his new full time job today and now that DS is at school full time, I'm at home all day by myself. Feels rather weird! Promised myself I wouldn't overwork myself and would do one room at a time, so today, the kitchen has been scrubbed to oblivion. Made me realise how mad my taste in music is, was listening to a mixture of musicals, Taylor Swift and Alternative 00's tunes. Quite a mad variety!
I haven't had a chance to completely catch up on everything, so gonna do a read back as soon as I've rid the sand from my son's school jumper... 🙄

Pugprincess · 19/10/2020 16:16

@RosieJess91 haha I’ve done a lot of cleaning/tidying/decluttering today was blasting out the boy band Blue 😁 just want to catch up on stuff as I’ve neglected things since being pregnant with working full time too. Just the basics get done not all the nitty gritty. Tried to attack the oven a bit but will do a little each day with that lol. We must be nesting X

RosieJess91 · 19/10/2020 17:26

@pugprincess think mine was more boredom, haha! Blue, that takes me back... remember me and my sister arguing over whether we should listen to Blue or S Club 7! Ha!
I cleaned the front of the oven, does that count?
I wouldn't say I've neglected the cleaning, I've just pottered about doing bits here and there rather than focusing on making it sparkle. Caught up on a lot of washing that I had been neglecting though! Surprised we still had socks left, considering how many I washed today!!
I have just had a rather amusing phone call with a debt collector, asking for money for a debt that has been put in my name for a bill that wasn't paid at an address I lived in years ago. But the bill was for July 2020! Very confusing. Assume the flat was empty all this time and now someone's moved in, it's somehow still in my name even though we moved out in 2017! God knows...

Lu93 · 19/10/2020 18:22

Thanks @Threnody I’ve thought since posting and I feel like i can relate to @Pugprincess I’m not sure what number I would be satisfied at... I’m just going to keep thinking I’m classed as low risk. I know of someone that got really high low results and she had a down syndrome baby. So there’s always the chance isn’t there. And realistically what would I even do if I then became high in a second test... not worth thinking about. I’m going to just wait it out and try not pick at something else to be paranoid about!

DanceM1 · 19/10/2020 19:15

@skyBlue20 ive been feeling the same about movement. Its worse because I had a few days of feeling quite a bit..even though it was only small movements im sure it was baby. Now the last 2 days I dont think ive felt anything so I'm panicking a bit. Having said that I know its still early for regular movements especially with an anterior placenta. I just keep thinking at my scan baby was wriggling around and I couldn't feel it so jusy praying its still OK in there!!🙏🤞

Ill keep you all updated on the name via class vote 🙈🤣

Sakura54 · 19/10/2020 19:46

@Poppy10121 Might have been me? I said I had mixed up pains inside and out - indigestion, gas, dodgy tummy and growing pains. The other day it even felt like AF was about to come. Unless pain is severe, it’s nothing to worry about I think. I find that lying down makes the pain better.

@SkyBlue20 You’ll feel it soon enough I’m sure. Deffo nothing to worry about. MW said 25w is when kicks will be frequent and that’s when we need to pay attention. I think for me though, if kicks stopped now, it’d mean something was wrong as it’s been non-stop and increasing for nearly 2 months.

Well last time I told them about the pregnancy straightaway as we go to stay with them often and I was retching everyday. Who knows who they told, probably the whole extended massive family who probably all know my business, so this time kept it quiet. Our families seem to be happy and impressed that it’s a girl this time. My dad said I was lucky and SIL said well done and I’m thinking well no, who says having one boy and one girl means it’s the perfect, complete family?

I used to love Blue and S Club 7. I still sometimes sing Blue on karaoke lol and other boy bands.

Checking in, since few pages ago Grin. I've been on progesterone pessaries + aspirin few weeks now. I had a scan at hospital today and saw a heartbeat (first time ever, as my previous scans have always been after I've started bleeding/ miscarrying), measuring 6+4. I think I'm 6+5, so far so good. I have another scan in a week's time. Fingers crossed but still quite anxious.

Workingmama1 · 19/10/2020 20:46

@poppy10121 I've mentioned pains and twinges a few times. They still stress me out but I think it's just stretching and everything else! Lots of us seem to be getting all sorts of pains...An amazon delivery driver banged on my door so hard yesterday it started me and I jumped up and was in agony for about 20 minutes afterwards.

@lu93 my trust don't give numbers unless you are high risk, I was annoyed with my daughter but think its actually a good idea as I'd be stressing out over the number no matter what it is! In fact now you don't even get a letter confirming low risk (coronavirus apparently means they can't send letters?).

I thought my brown had finally stopped today but had a bit more light drown discharge today which now is just frustrating me! Planning on booking my gender scan tomorrow for next week which is exciting.

Enjoy half term @pugprincess, school holidays are one of the only things I miss about teaching (but boy do you need them!)

Random one from me, I've noticed dried milk on my nipples. Not sure if its link to finishing breastfeeding nearly two weeks ago or getting ready to feed again (or both!). I got it last time but not until 35ish weeks.

Simmy20 · 19/10/2020 22:12

@Threnody I'm really busy at work but nothing is taking my mind off it. I was working yesterday afternoon and all of a sudden felt really sick threw at all my lunch and then ate so much fruit after. I've been very obsessed with fruit. My sickness has been so random and not constant at all. But after that I was feeling so crap I just had to take the rest of the afternoon off. I should be 8 weeks today based on LMP so feel like I should have more symptoms then I do

@Coffee4me so wonderful you got to see the heartbeat at the scan. Fingers crossed your next scan goes just as well

Pugprincess · 19/10/2020 23:45

@Simmy20 aw my sickness was never constant just comes and goes. I never actually threw up though. Sounds good that you are feeling some sickness and food cravings like the fruit. X

@Workingmama1 the browns so annoying isn’t it, I still get bits too. Maybe this is something we will get throughout 😩 The nhs weekly pregnancy thing says from my stage (think you are ahead of me?) you can get some colostrum (spelling? 😩🙈) leak into bras. None for me though.

@Coffee4me aww great news on the scan and heartbeat! Sounds like the progesterone and aspirin should help 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Is this the first pregnancy you have taken them?

@Sakura54 oh yessss, we are fairly new to Spotify so I’ve been downloading all the oldies 😅 Five were my fave before Blue 😁

Regarding cramps I’ve had quite a few today which is a bit scary. My lower back hurt earlier but I have done a lot today around the house. I think cause my cramps are so similar to AF cramps if they get a bit stronger or frequent I get scared. But like Sakura said it’s got to be quite severe for a mc. I think I had some tightening sensations in my abdomen earlier to I googled and nhs says braxton hicks between 14-28 weeks, I had no idea that started so early. X

Simmy20 · 19/10/2020 23:53

@Pugprincess thanks. Yes I definitely have sore nipples and they seem to be growing too (not the boob just the nipples - weird).

I'm my own worst enemy though and I stupidly keep googling things. Apparently with an empty sac you can still get all the pregnancy symptoms as the sac is still growing and you are still producing hormones. So I think even if I was really sick or had more symptoms I'd feel the same way. DH just keeps telling me to be happy that I'm not constantly throwing up this pregnancy.

Pugprincess · 20/10/2020 02:28

@Simmy20 bless you I understand. It’s mainly been my nips that are sore too. I always expected the boobs to be much worse but I think that comes much later on. When’s your scan now? 6 more days? X

SmileyT · 20/10/2020 09:46

@Pugprincess I've had to private scans every 2 weeks I think if it makes you feel better it doesn't do any harm ❤️ also do you ever sleep? You always seem to post in the middle of the night 😂

@SkyBlue20 I totally understand the worry and if it makes you feel any better I've felt some movement and then I don't feel anything and shake my belly around like a mad person so I think until they are more regular and I can count kicks the worry is still there 🙈

@Workingmama1 I'm glad that you've asked this... I'm leaking daily now from my nipples, when I get into the shower I actually see it fall down my body and I get patches on the bed. I really hope this is normal? Anyone else with leaky boobs? I'm a FTM so no finishing breastfeeding to blame and I'm 19weeks. Do I just leave it? Or wear nipple pads or something? xx

Also I'm so jealous of all you with tidy little bumps, I feel like my whole body is getting bigger but I've promised myself I will get to the gym this week after seriously indulging on holiday 🙈

Simmy20 · 20/10/2020 10:02

@Pugprincess yes 6 days. 6 looooong days. Thankfully the scan is in the morning so I don't have to wait too long

ew1990 · 20/10/2020 10:09

@smileyt at around 23 weeks with DD I used to wake up with massive patches of wet on my boobs where they had leaked. Midwife said it was nothing to worry about.

4 hours till my scan. I've done all my cleaning and got a wash on. It's dragging 🙈🙈

Simmy20 · 20/10/2020 10:44

Good luck with the scan @ew1990. Hopefully the 4hrs go quick for you
