Hi All,
I've been really struggling with anxiety. I'm only 4 weeks (I think ... hard to know as got pregnant straight after MC) and already just feel so on edge. Did anyone else get this? Any tips? I feel like I'm not going to book in with midwife until the last minute as I'm worried I'll miscarry again. And I'm debating if I'll bother with an early scan at 7/8 weeks or not (if I even get that far).

Any words of advice for me? Much appreciated in advance! Xx

Lu93 · 17/10/2020 15:31

Thanks @SkyBlue20 I’m hoping it’s not too long before I feel kicking, I think I won’t be as anxious if I know babies moving! That’s so good about your results @RosieJess91. I got mine through yesterday and I’m low risk too although mine was 1-1400... I wish it was higher than 1400. In my scan she was really struggling to get the measurements so I just have everything crossed that this maybe the reason why it’s low. I then googled it and I know anything over 150 is less likely but still xx

Pugprincess · 17/10/2020 16:28

Great news on the scans ladies!

Yh this is why I didn’t have the screening tests cause unless I got a really high number I would be worrying myself over it. Especially as I wouldn’t want the further tests.

Just ordered my pregnancy pillow to collect from Argos in the morning. 14 weeks today! Going to start taking weekly milestone bump photos to look back on.

Half term holiday here now, can’t wait to catch up on house stuff and chill too lol. Going to buy some vanish and wash the donated baby clothes I have as they were stored for years in attic. Will wash again closer to the time too.

Hope you are all ok. @MRJ86 bless you all you can do is take deep breaths and take each day as a milestone at the moment. Don’t think too far ahead right now. Try and take things easy but maybe find something to distract yourself a bit, something that makes you feel good. If it helps I’m 14 weeks and still tissue checking and fighting horrible thoughts. It’s not easy for us after what we have been through. Keep talking to us and giving you a hand hold ❤️

Starfish762 · 17/10/2020 18:22

@Dipsy77 congratulations! So lovely 💞

@MRJ86 bless you, I was the same the first 2 weeks after finding out, nothing should really shift it. I rode it out & the ladies on here helped, so many positive stories, like they say just focus on small daily/weekly milestones & try to keep yourself busy to pass the time. I’m 7+1 & still terrified obv, but something switched in my mind a couple of weeks ago when I realised even if things do go wrong again there’s nothing I can do to stop it, and all getting worked up is going to do is add to my guilt if things do go wrong. It’ll be better for our little babies if we’re calm (easier said than done I know!) It’s a terrifying time for anyone after a MC, and yours was so recent it probably makes it worse. You’re not alone though, try to think of all the positive stories on this thread, and look after yourself xxx

Starfish762 · 17/10/2020 18:22

Nothing *would really shift it (doh)

DanceM1 · 17/10/2020 18:33

Hello! So sorry I'm struggling to keep up as sometimes it just doesn't let me on this thread or if it does I can't see the updates 🤷‍♀️

Thanks for the congratulations on the scan. So nice to have reached the half way mark. I told the children in my class yesterday and they were so excited!! They want a class vote on the name 🙈🤣 it was lovely to share it with them though and makes it seem more real. Im trying to just enjoy all that this weekend and avoid the worry!

@lu93 I have an anterior placenta and I started (i think) to feel the odd little bubbly movement last week. Having said that though the movement are very small!! And definitely not regular. I was a little reassured as during the scan baby was wriggling like mad but I couldn't feel it so not overly worried when I cant feel it just yet!

@dipsy77 congratulations, thats lovely news 💕 and welcome to the anterior placenta club- I think there are quite a few of us now!

Dipsy77 · 17/10/2020 18:45

@MRJ86 I'm still the same now at 18+5 I have a scan or hear the heartbeat and I feel so happy and then a week later I'm back to been anxious again, just set yourself small goals and when appointments are etc easier said than done as I'm always googling things and am my own worst enemy xx

Sakura54 · 17/10/2020 19:04

Yay for the scans. At first it was all boys, now it’s girls one after another! Yes, quite a few of us are halfway or nearly halfway there, how did that happen!? Let’s hope it goes quickly and as smoothly as possible for us all!

@Pugprincess Half term already? Confused me for a sec lol I assumed we all had the same half term dates.

I take weekly bump pics too but don’t know why I bother. I’m always asking everyone to show us bump pics, but have nothing to show of my own yet lol. I’m not complaining though as I don’t really want a big bump or to gain weight. It’s lovely to see everyone’s progression though! Maybe in another month or two when I’m in the third trimester, I can post a pic.

How’s your bump looking @Dipsy77 ?
Two babies in there, how amazing.

Dipsy77 · 17/10/2020 19:19

@Sakura54 bump isn't too big at the minute hoping it doesn't get too big xx

Pugprincess · 18/10/2020 00:39

@Sakura54 yeah we’re always a week ahead of most places I think 💭 in Leicester

DanceM1 · 18/10/2020 07:47

@dipsy77 I love your bump 😍

Enjoy half term @pugprincess. We have just 4 more days until ours.. I cant wait!

Starfish762 · 18/10/2020 08:14

Morning ladies, hope everyone’s having a nice weekend. I’ve been chilling in bed while DH took DD downstairs, gosh I miss having time to myself in silence 😂 Wouldn’t change it for the world though 🙂

Just been reading my 7w update on my pregnancy app & thought this might reassure the others who are near the start like me & may not have symptoms yet. Everything crossed for all of us! 🤞🏼

Thank you to whoever mentioned using a hair dryer on creased clothes, tried it on something I’ve avoided ironing and therefore wearing for months when wow what a game changer!

Off to collect my pregnancy pillow soon so looking forward to that as sleeping on my sides constantly is giving me aches 😩 does anyone know if it’s safe to half sit/lie on back propped up by cushion on sofa?

Just written my food shop list and it’s made me feel sick 😂 I felt bad walking around supermarket last week and when I write a list I walk around the store in my head so I don’t miss things, but apparently that sets me off too. Hardly ever get sick now but that’s still doing it for me. Think it’s all the food thoughts. Does anyone else get this lol

Workingmama1 · 18/10/2020 14:21

@pugprincess I seem to be mainly over feeling sick thinking about food but if I don't eat frequently then it hits me. I still can't decide what to eat most days as I literally fancy nothing most of the time...

Yay to more girls @Dipsy77, they will all have a lovely bond

I'm pretty sure i saw a little willy on my scan this week but the sonographer didn't comment on it so will have to wait an see. Am booking another can in 2 weeks when I'll be 17 weeks so will find out for sure then!

Bump is popping now, can just about fit in my jeggings but jeans are out the question!

@mrj86 mini milestones and celebrating each day helped me. Its really tough, I've alsp started some pregnancy yoga for anxiety which has helped

Simmy20 · 18/10/2020 15:00

Congratulations on your scans ladies and lovely bumps. Sorry I've been quiet but I have been reading. It's been the longest week for me. But today looks like I've finally stopped spotting. Hopefully it doesn't start again. Another 1 week and 1 day until I find out if there is a baby in this sac. It's going to be another long week. I hate this wait

Starfish762 · 18/10/2020 15:17

Bless you @Simmy20 I’ve been thinking of you. Such a long wait ☹️ Hope the next week goes quicker than the last xx

SmileyT · 18/10/2020 15:46

@MRJ86 I think it's all about taking every day as it comes and doing what is right for you and makes you feel less anxious. For me that was getting scans every 2weeks from 7weeks until 17weeks definitely not for everyone but it still helps me to stop worrying x

@Pugprincess yay to half term 🥳 Why would sitting on the sofa propped up by a cushion be an issue? That's how I always watch telly from the sofa 😬

@DanceM1 I'm curious what kinda names the kids would vote for you 😂 when I told my youngest nephews (8 and 9) they suggested Frederick for the baby so we've all been calling him Freddie for short, think they might be devastated in 5months when I tell them that's not his actual name 🙈

@Workingmama1 isn't that the cutest bump ❤️

@Simmy20 really hope the next week flies by for you and so glad the spotting has stopped x

Sakura54 · 18/10/2020 16:24

Loving the bump pics!

@Dipsy77 Imagine, soon you’ll be getting kicked left, right and centre non-stop by two babies!

@Pugprincess I think it’s fine. I still find myself sleeping on my back as that’s the most natural for me. I do start off on my side though. I also half lie/sit down on my back too as it’d be a bit weird to permanently be on my side. I don’t know when the side sleeping advice came out but it’s not needed until third trimester apparently. I’m pretty sure I was even on my back when heavily pregnant with DS as it was still comfy for me due to lack of bump. Just as long as we are trying.

Finally told the in-laws, because haven’t seen most of them since the night lockdown was announced so was able to keep it quiet this time (they knew about the MMC pregnancy from the start). MIL and BIL came over quick time to bring me food and the first thing she said was that I’m 5 months pregnant but there’s no bump, I need to eat. Had to remind her I was like this with DS too! I even eat sweet stuff and junk when I feel like it (which is often lol) it’s not like I’m dieting and not gaining weight on purpose!

Hi ladies, I've not posted in a while as hell really sick with my hyperemesis. It seems a tad better now but now suffering from some brown discharge when wiping.
I'm 6+5 and we had an early scan today, baby looked fine measuring as expected and we saw the heartbeat too. I felt quite reassured after the scan but the brown discharge when I wipe is making me so anxious.
Anyone else experienced this? Xxx

ew1990 · 18/10/2020 20:40

@mrsk21 there's a few ladies who have had continuous brown spotting. Some for quite a while. I'm not sure off the top of my head who though.

@dipsy @workingmama lovely bumps! I've had to cave and order maternity tunics from work as I cant breathe in my normal ones.

How's everyone doing? Dp felt a kick last night! It was ace. 2 more days too my scan

bubblybon20 · 18/10/2020 21:41

Lovely bumps @Dipsy77 & @Workingmama1!
Congratulations on your girls too! @Dipsy77 Opposite to me, Im going to have 3 boys 🤣

@Sakura54 I also keep waking up on my back, after falling asleep on my side! 🤦🏻‍♀️ i can't remember struggling this much with my other boys! But my bump is tiny compared to my others!
Ahh it's amazing you have kept your pregnancy quiet, but so nice they know now!

I feel like he has moved as movements have been so quiet. Get the odd ones but think his legs are inside as it's hard where he back is 🤣🤣 19 weeks left.. 😍😍

@ew1990 not long now!! 😀😀

ew1990 · 18/10/2020 22:14

@bubblybon20 I know what you mean about them moving. I Still feel like flurtwrs low down but then kicks quite high up. Just near belly button. Will see what position it's on on Tuesday coz all my movement feel like it's on the right side but that's where the legs were at my 12 week scan.

Another 12 hour shift tomorrow so that should make the time go faster.

Poppy10121 · 18/10/2020 22:28

Lovely bump pics! They all look so neat!

After a few days feeling happier and starting to tell people about this pregnancy I’m now freaking out today with some low down pains - I’m pretty sure they are round ligament pains and maybe a bit of gas as I’m really bloated, but can’t stop thinking it might be something wrong - did someone else have this a week or two ago? My memory is terrible for who said what but I think someone else on this thread mentioned something similar? I’m 16 weeks now so hoping it’s just stretching...

Pugprincess · 19/10/2020 02:15

@SmileyT I guess I’m more laying down than sitting up but not flat on my back on sofa. Probably being overly cautious again 🙈

Lovely bump pics ❤️

@MrsK21 I had quite a lot of brown at the beginning and then again after my haematoma bleed and even a little last weekend randomly. Hope you feel better soon xxx

Think I had a strange day today, had a funny turn when shopping. Think it was low blood sugar. I wasn’t hungry but it was lunchtime. Lots of heartburn today too. I’ve collected some baby bits from a friend today so going to store that away (Moses basket, travel cot, bouncers etc)

I was doing scans pretty much every 2 weeks. Tomorrow will be a week since the hospital one. I wonder how long I can last before I book a private one 😂 I’m trying to be good and hold out for 16-17 weeks now as that’s kind of half way to the 20 week one at end of November. X

SkyBlue20 · 19/10/2020 11:09

Morning everyone!

@RosieJess91 How exciting that you have your cot, does it make it feel more real?

@Ew1990 Aww sounds like you had a nice time pumpkin picking. How funny that your DD won’t let you carve them though, that’s so sweet! Are you allowed to paint them maybe? It’s your scan tomorrow, isn’t it? Good luck!

@MRJ86 So sorry you’re struggling. I think we all had that – the early weeks are awful but know that although it doesn’t go away completely, it does get a bit easier with every week and major milestone that passes. I think a number of us held off booking in with the midwife and almost all of us had early scans, too – you need to do whatever you feel you need for your own mental health. Just focus on each day, try not to look too far forward and remind yourself that the odds are higher that everything will be ok than not. Big hugs xx

@DanceM1 So sweet that the kids in your class got so excited. Longing to hear which name wins in the class vote 😂

@Dipsy77 What a lovely bump!

@PugPrincess I also wondered the same about pretty much lying down but a bit sat up – I tend to just try to prop myself up so my back isn’t flat on the couch/bed but a bit angled instead.

@workingmama1 What a great bump!

@Simmy20 Glad the spotting has stopped. Only a week until your scan now, too – hope it goes quickly for you xx

@Sakura54 Wow at being able to keep it a secret from the in-laws for so long, bet they were so excited! Very sweet that they brought you food over – bump comments not quite so welcome though, I imagine.

@MrsK21 So sorry you’ve been so poorly and about the discharge, too. Quite a few people on here have had that with everything being perfect, so try not to worry too much – as difficult as I appreciate it is. Brown is old blood so not as concerning as bright red xx

@Poppy10121 I think a lot of us have had the low down pains – my app said it was quite normal around that time (and again around now in fact) as it’s just everything stretching.

I’m getting quite disappointed by the fact I can’t feel any movement yet – trying my hardest not to let it worry me as I know it can be completely normal not to feel anything yet (19+2), especially in a first pregnancy and with an anterior placenta, but I’m a week and a day away from my 20 week scan and just keep finding myself worrying and I want that reassurance. I’m having like little very fleeting almost aches down low every now and then but I don’t think that’s movement as it’s nothing like anything anyone describes. I may have had some bubbles yesterday but I can’t be 100% sure and also feel like now I’m just really overanalysing everything. I just want to know she’s ok! This is such a weird bit of pregnancy.
Otherwise, all good here, slept with my pregnancy pillow for the first time the other night, mainly to help keep my arms off the mattress after my flu and whooping cough jabs, and it was SO comfy. Not going to sleep with it all the time just yet as I did miss being able to cuddle DH but am quite looking forward to when I feel like I do need it every night 😂

Hope everyone is doing ok today and had a good weekend xx
