Amazing, @DanceM1, so happy for you! Yay, half way through! ☺️

@ew1990 Not too long to go - be here before you know it! Sure all will be perfect ☺️

@RosieJess91 Very sweet about your 4YO asking about baby and hope the middle one is ok with baby, will take some adjusting I assume but you'll find your new normal with him 💕 What will the age difference be between baby and the eldest's little one?

I am so unproductive today, I just cannot get focused. Probably doesn't help that I woke up thinking it was Saturday (I wish)!

MRJ86 · 15/10/2020 14:49

Hi Everyone,
I hope it's ok to join. I've just found out I'm pregnant. I think I'm 3w6d....basically I had a miscarriage 18th September (had a negative pregnancy test a week later) and think I ovulated around 3rd October and now have multiple positive pregnancy tests upstairs in the bathroom! So not LMP. I'm terrified of it happening again. I'm hoping this group will help with some of my anxiety. I've not read all the posts but have read last few pages and seems to have lots of positive stories. This would be our first child.

xxxxx

Lollol86 · 15/10/2020 14:53

@Smilingdonkey thank you for the recommendations, there are so many pillows and reviews out there. 🤯
Congratulations on pink 🎀 I have 2 girls and pretty sure this one will be a girl. Mine and my husbands family only seem to product girls 😂

Poppy10121 · 15/10/2020 14:53

@RosieJess91 and @Workingmama1 I think we are at similar stages, I'm also getting lots of random dull pains - some lower belly, some at the sides where legs and lower body meet, I thought this was meant to be the trimester where we felt amazing, I feel like an old woman!

I used my pillow last night for the first time and it's definitely helped with lower back pain, I had an awful night's sleep though cos our cat was sick in the night and making a massive fuss, we are both shattered!

I've still not got my screening results back, over 2 weeks since the scan. Phoned the hospital today and they just said that they went in the post a week ago and they're not allowed to tell me over the phone, so I would have to go in person to request another paper copy. What a joke! Hope that at least means there's nothing urgent to tell me about!

Lollol86 · 15/10/2020 14:58

@MRJ86 sorry for your previous loss but congratulations on this new baby. Welcome to the group, you will get lots of support here. Wishing you a healthy 9 months xx

RosieJess91 · 15/10/2020 16:38

@skyblue20 my step-grandson turns 2 in June, so almost 2 years between them. My step-daughter will be 22, step-son will be 16 and our son will be almost 5 by the time this baby is here. Quite the age gaps!
@poppy10121 I think we must be!!
I haven't had the results from my tests either! Taking their time.... got told if I hadn't heard within a week, it was good news. So kinda glad!
Welcome aboard @mrj86! Wishing you a brilliant 9 months!

Lu93 · 15/10/2020 19:44

Congratulations to everyone with the scans and @Workingmama1you must be so relieved!

I also haven’t got my results from the tests either and it’s been over a week too, and also got told if I haven’t had a call usually it’s good news and the results are usually just on their way. Fingers crossed anyway!

I have my 16 weeks app next week, but it’s over the phone. I know usually they check babies heart beat with a doppler and it’s starting to worry me that they can’t do that. I don’t know whether to book a scan for another milestone. Feel like I’m being over the top all the time but I just wish I had that reassurance of them checking like usual :/ has other people done this or is it me being overly anxious again?

Workingmama1 · 15/10/2020 20:55

Yay to a good scan @DanceM1!

@lu93 I think I'm going to book a scan for 16 weeks (not booked it yet but will need to as they seem to book up a week or so in advance, but if I have another bleed I may well end up back at epu anyway!). With my daughter they didn't listen to the heartbeat at 16 weeks in case they can't find it and causes worry.

Welcome @mrj86

I've lit my candle for the wave of light tonight. I always thought I'd use this week to share my mmc more widely than the friends and family we told, but this pregnancy still feels so precarious with the bleeding I don't think I'm ready to.

@skyblue20 I was so unproductive today, I actually gave up at 4:30 as I was simply staring at the screen and achieving nothing!

Workingmama1 · 15/10/2020 20:59

But I did manage to do two things that acknowledge I am actually pregnant today.... I sent off my maternity exception form at last and ordered some stretch mark cream (I know they don't really do anything but I used it last time and didn't get any!).

I've been holding off doing anything that recognised I was pregnant in case things went wrong, but it was actually really nice to do something.

We have been given half a day off this week at work for "wellbeing" my husband and I are going to go for afternoon tea (first proper meal without a toddler since lockdown!) and I'm thinking afterwards we might go and buy a baby hat or little outfit. I figured even if things don't go right it would always be something to treasure.

Lu93 · 15/10/2020 21:05

@Workingmama1 yeah they’re so busy now I really hope they don’t change the rule for partners at the 20 week scan, I can just see it happening. Aw me too about the lighting of the candle and miscarriage loss, I must admit whilst i was scrolling through my news feed I just burst out crying and couldn’t stop. It seemed to trigger all the emotions and rawness of it came flooding back. I hope everyone else is doing okay, trying to think positive xx

Poppy10121 · 15/10/2020 21:39

@Lu93 I’m the same about the 16 week appointment, have been thinking I might book another scan but husband thinks I’m being silly and should just wait til 20 weeks. My 16 week appointment is actually at 17.5 weeks so I guess it really won’t be that long to wait, but I do still get anxious. Now I can see and feel the bump I’m feeling a bit better. I think I’ll see how I go next week but definitely do book one if you think you’ll feel better for it.

@Workingmama1 that sounds like such a lovely afternoon for you and your husband, enjoy!

Thinking of you all tonight with the wave of light 👼🏻

Smilingdonkey · 16/10/2020 06:27

@lu93 sorry you are feeling so anxious. I felt particularly bad around the 15-16 weeks mark but the time did go more quickly than I had thought it would - hope it does for you too. I thought they would check the heartbeat at 16w but apparently they don't do it anymore in most places 😩 Mainly because it's so unreliable and worries people when they can't get it ... I was gutted. Could you phone your midwife and tell her how you are feeling? Maybe if you tell them how anxious you are they might try to do it for you? Xxxxxx

Starfish762 · 16/10/2020 08:30

@MRJ86 welcome! Quite a few here got pregnant again first try after MC & everything’s worked out just fine - everything crossed for you too. Took me 4.5 months to fall again, just praying it sticks.

Hope everyone’s okay today after wave of light last night. I posted a pic of my candle on insta/FB & had a few nice messages from people who didn’t know, and some from people sharing their loss story when I didn’t know they’d been through it. I shed a few tears but feel okay today.

Tomorrow marks the 7w milestone, finally feeling a bit nausea in the night when I wake for a wee & when I first wake up - a werthers original does the trick 😂 Been a bit tired but not excessively so, but hoping that’ll happen over the next week. Will be booking private scan soon. I def feel in a much better place this week, me being an anxious mess is not going to help & I’ll be just as devastated if the worst happens, so I’m trying to chill & stay positive (it’s a fine balance between being positive & self preservation!) Told my 2 best friends yesterday which actually felt like a huge relief, one of them said she had a feeling even though I’ve not seen her in weeks!

SkyBlue20 · 16/10/2020 09:09

Morning everyone, happy Friday!

Just been for my flu and whopping cough jabs, they were absolutely fine, tiny little needles. Right arm is aching a bit already so let's see how I get on but sleeping on my side is going to be fun as she did one in each arm 🙈

Welcome @MRJ86, so sorry for your loss and congratulations on your new pregnancy! It's a very anxious time but we've all got by on setting little milestones and just focusing on them rather than thinking too far ahead. This group is invaluable, too as we've all been there xx

@Poppy10121 Annoying about your results, however I'd assume it means there's nothing wrong - I was told I'd get a phone call within 72 hours if anything was flagged. We don't actually get our results at all unless there's something flagged!

@Lu93 They don't check the heartbeat at 16 weeks in my trust. I did book a scan between my 12 and 20 week ones - I had it at 18 weeks just because I wanted to have it on the due date of our last baby but probably would have gone around 17 weeks otherwise (my 12 week scan was at 13+3) - it's such a long wait without one! It was also nice to have DH there when they did all of the health checks as we assumed he wouldn't be able to be at the 20 week scan. Do whatever you feel you need xx

@Workingmama1 I too lit a candle for our little angel and all of the little angels out there last night, it was actually quite emotional. I had a scroll on Instagram and so many people I know had lit a candle for their losses, then I had a scroll through the hashtag and it just made me so sad how many people have been through that pain. Life is so precious.
Fab that you managed to take the first steps to acknowledging the pregnancy - baby steps and at a rate that works for you 💕 How lovely that your work have given you that half day off, that's really nice. Love the idea of buying a little something, too - we did that after the 12 week scan and thought the same, it could be a nice memento if nothing else, we had nothing to remember our last baby with. Enjoy the afternoon tea and shopping xx

@Starfish762 Glad you're feeling good within yourself and rubbish in terms of symptoms (feels so wrong saying that but you know what I mean 😂) So lovely to share the news with your friends, too!

Right, must get started on my work, I need the productive day to end all productive days! Hope everyone is well xx

ew1990 · 16/10/2020 10:21

@skyblue20 I think I'm having mine next week at scan.

Off pumpkin picking with DD soon. Apparently the patch is absolutely filthy so this is gunna be fun

Workingmama1 · 16/10/2020 18:14

Happy Friday!

Had a lovely afternoon having afternoon tea, was so nice to eat without trying to stop a toddler throwing their food on the floor! Didnt manage to get anything for the baby though, I hadn't realised the shop was moving so they only had a tiny bit of sale stuff still out and I didnt like any of it, so that was a bit disappointing.

I'm still spotting brown which is depressing, but at least I know what it is.

@starfish762 yay to 7 weeks tomorrow, another milestone nearly here.

Lu93 · 16/10/2020 20:33

Thanks everyone, I think I will speak to my midwife about it. I think a 16 week scan also will put my mind at rest hopefully once I start feeling kicks I’ll be less anxious but at my scan the sonographer said that I have a anterior placenta so she said it could be delayed more than others! Glad she mentioned it otherwise it would just have been something else for me to be worried about! Hope everyone’s well xx

ew1990 · 16/10/2020 21:06

I had an anterior placenta with DD and I still felt plenty of movement. Flutters from around 17 weeks.

I'll find out where mine is on Tuesday. The past few days I've felt loads. Still quite low down like ripples but then loads of kicks as well. Put my hand on my tummy earlier after a kick and actually felt another 2 from the outside!

Hope everyone has a fab weekend. Xxx

SmileyT · 17/10/2020 09:29

Always so lovely catching up and seeing there have been more successful scans ❤️ I'm currently enjoying a little babymoon in Athens and it's so nice being in the sun by the pool 😎

Congrats to all those that have joined us and hope there are loads more wonderful scans next week... still so strange to think that I'm 18weeks pregnant, haven't met a midwife yet and will be having my last scan (20w scan) in a weeks time.

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend x

RosieJess91 · 17/10/2020 11:38

Finally got my test results back, they only tested for Downs as I was seen too late for the others. My baby has a 1 in 33972 chance! So that's good 😁 phew! Now I just have to wait until the 10th to know if this munchkin is a boy or a girl!

Dipsy77 · 17/10/2020 13:36

So I cracked this morning and had a private gender scan. I was worried because I hadn't felt movement but it's because both my placentas are anterior. I'm having 2 girls, it was lovely because OH and DD could come in too so I will have 3 girls under 2 !!

ew1990 · 17/10/2020 13:51

@dipsy aww how lovely. Such good pictures.

Good news about the downs risk! X

SkyBlue20 · 17/10/2020 13:59

Congratulations, @Dipsy77! Three girls, how lovely 💕

@RosieJess91 Congrats on the results, that’s fab ☺️

@SmileyT I’m very jealous of you being in the sunshine! Have fun.

@Lu93 I have an anterior placenta, too, the sonographer said they’d usually expect that you would start feeling movement between 18-22 weeks with one, so try not to worry if you don’t feel them soon. I’m 19 weeks today and still no sign of movement. Desperate to feel it now though!

@Workingmama1 Glad you had a nice afternoon tea ☺️

@ew1990 How was your pumpkin picking? I’m dying to go but is it weird to go without a child? 😂

RosieJess91 · 17/10/2020 14:18

Thanks everyone!
I'm about to go and pick up the cot. We've been given one for free because my step-sons about to have major spinal surgery, and he has to have a special bed in place, so may be shuffling everything around. People are just throwing things at us to help us out. Been amazing.

ew1990 · 17/10/2020 14:44

@skyblue20 no not at all! We loved it. It actually wasn't muddy so we stayed clean unlike last year! DD won't let me carve them though she's obsessed with them 🙈🙈
