Our Jizo statue arrived today 🥰 Nice to have a subtle reminder of our little angel and that only we really will know what it signifies.

So ladies talking about pregnancy pillows, what do you recommend?
Also any recommendations for maternity leggings? Xx

MrsK21 · 14/10/2020 13:26

Thank you everyone who messaged yesterday, I really appreciated the hand holds. After 2 IVs in A&E and an injection of some medication to calm the sickness plus cyclizine to take 3x a day, I'm finally feeling a bit better today. I've not been sick yet today but just nauseous on and off. I really hope it stays this way now!

I also just got a call from the midwife for my booking in appointment which will be tomorrow!!! And it's in person! I'm going into a mild panic that this is too early etc etc (I'm 6+1)

SkyBlue20 · 14/10/2020 13:29

@Lollol86 This is the one I have - I read an article about in on Glamour Online and the reviews were all great so thought I'd give it a go and it's been less than a day but so far, so good! Cheap, too, compared to others:

amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0829FC6B8/ref=smi_www_rco2_go_smi_1285150262?_encoding=UTF8&creative=6738&creativeASIN=B01KIQH2VU&ie=UTF8&linkCode=as2&linkId=42944af79d5b664b34a3f416c565f372&psc=1&tag=glamouruk01-21&th=1#aplPreloadName_1602585795305]]

As for leggings, I'm wearing my Love Leggings ones as I type - I tried a few others but am VERY particular about them being see through so ended up sending a lot back. These aren't see through at all and they're so comfy. They are going a bit bobbly on the inner thigh already, which isn't great, but also not a huge issue as quite hidden away there. I got my pre-pregnancy size and they fit well with room to grow.

Workingmama1 · 14/10/2020 14:04

Thank you for the good lucks, scan went well, with a very wriggly baby kicking away! Hematoma still there but slightly smaller, 2.2mm from 2.9 so its the most likely reason for the bleed. It is at the edge of the placenta but the sonographer said it didn't look concerning so trying to remember that.

Just trying to decompress after all the stress and adrenaline now!

@skyblue20 I've heard good things about love leggings, I'm currently in my maternity leggings from my daughter but they are a bit see through!

@mrsk21 glad you are feeling better today!

Lollol86 · 14/10/2020 14:14

@Workingmama1 so glad your scan went well what a relief xx

@SkyBlue20 thank you for the recommendations I will look into both of them. I'm a tummy sleeper and keep waking up on my tummy so need something to stop me rolling xx

SkyBlue20 · 14/10/2020 14:45

Ahhh so happy for you, @Workingmama1! Good to know the haematoma has shrunk and that that's the likely reason for the bleed. It must feel like a weight off your shoulders, try to relax a bit and enjoy that post-scan high. xx

Poppy10121 · 14/10/2020 15:01

So happy for you @Workingmama1! hope you can relax the rest of the day xx

Starfish762 · 14/10/2020 15:12

@Workingmama1 ahhhh I’m so pleased! What a relief xx

Sakura54 · 14/10/2020 15:31

Glad all is well @Workingmama1 did they say how long it should take to disappear or to expect more bleeding?

@Pugprincess I have a tilted uterus, as well as some other ladies here. It’s common and doesn’t really affect anything so it’s not even on my notes. It says on my 20w scan report where my placenta is.

It’s so good that some of you can have partners with you in scans. It doesn’t look like anything is changing at my hospital. Men who come to pick up their newborns are being told to wait outside. I saw security get called to deal with an angry man who wanted to stay with his heavily pregnant wife and she started effing and blinding too. I don’t know how things will be come February, but being alone for days in hospital with a newborn and not being able to move much is a scary thought. It’s what I’d probably be doing right now if the MMC didn’t happen.

So I’m over 20w now and have been feeling movement for about 6 weeks and these days it’s literally every single time I lie/sit down. DH felt it for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I’ve seen my belly jump! I do remember DS kicking every night, but I didn’t realise how much they move all day, it’s bonkers.

I feel like I haven't looked at this in ages. Glad your scan went well @workingmama1.
Got a lot to catch up, but that was the main one I noticed!
Hope everyone else is okay too!
I've just been very busy painting walls. We were going to paint the nursery, but the colour we got, my OH decided he didn't like. So I think we're now going to wait until we know what it is, and either go pink or blue. My OH also keeps looking at me and shaking his head and saying he can't believe we're doing this again. He's 44, so I assume he thought he'd had his kids. He knew I wanted more though. I think as we're also grandparents (sort of), it's just starting to hit him how big the age gap is, we do have a 90's, 00's, 10's and now a 20's, so that's 4 decades of children (in a way...)
Now that I don't have any sickness and I haven't felt any proper movements yet, I'm starting to have a small panic that something's wrong again. 16 weeks today though, so hoping I'll start feeling more and can stop worrying so much. Fingers crossed!

Pugprincess · 14/10/2020 17:06

Aw thanks for that info on the tilted womb and placenta @sakura and @Sakura54

@Workingmama1 glad to hear you know the cause of this other bleed and it shrinking must mean it’s reabsorbing so that’s a positive.

@Poppy10121 I need to get a pillow! I was looking at the Tommy one in Argos, £50 it is.

I’m 14 weeks Saturday and hoping I feel some early movements soon 🤞🏻

Poppy10121 · 14/10/2020 17:18

I've got this pillow: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07NJ5C6GZ/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?th=1&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&ie=UTF8

I'll report back after tonight and see how it goes! I'm fed up of the back pain so hopefully it will help.
Thanks for the tips @SkyBlue20!

DanceM1 · 14/10/2020 17:55

@workingmama1 so pleased all is OK!!

@mrsK21 glad you are doing a little better today- that sounds awful!!

So the child in my class tested negative 🎉🎉🎉 i also got a call from the hospital to say partners are definitely allowed in tomorrow but that im lucky because as of next week they probably won't be. Im really sorry @skyBlue20 but im in greater Manchester too. Although we are different hospital trusts so hopefully it will be ok for yours 🤞🤞

Oh they just called again and moved my scan to the morning! 10.50am instead of 3.20... much better!!

ew1990 · 14/10/2020 17:56

@workingmama so glad your scan went Well! ❤

Nothing much to report from me. Hip started again yesterday but had calmed down by this afternoon. I wonder why it comes and goes. It just suddenly starts with no warning.

RosieJess91 · 14/10/2020 19:33

Has anyone else had pain in their stomach area? Feels like I've been doing loads of sit ups, or been at the gym for the day.

Workingmama1 · 14/10/2020 20:44

@rosiejess91 I've had a fair bit of stomach pain over the last few weeks. Sometimes it feels really tight, sometimes I think it's wind , sometimes round ligament pain and sometimes I think it's just everything stretching. Its annoying as every twinge sets me on edge!

Good luck tomorrow @dancem1, great news about partners and moving to a morning appointment 😀

@sakura54 they said it might bleed again or might reabsorb, they simply can't predict what it will do!

I feel like I had a come down after my scan, it took a few hours for the adrenaline to calm down.... feeling much better though. Think I'm 80% releive all was well but still 20% concerned about the hematoma being next to the placenta. I can't control it beyond taking it easy so need to try and keep on top of my anxiety.

DanceM1 · 14/10/2020 21:26

@workingmama1 thank you 🙏🤞 im nervous!

Smilingdonkey · 14/10/2020 22:39

We are having another girl!

At least they are fairly sure - the baby was in a really bad position so we have to re-scan in two weeks. All looks good so far though. I hope I can start to relax now ...

@workingmama1 I'm so glad all was good with you too 😃 xx

@lollol86 Pregnancy pillow wise - I spent a fortune on the bbhugme and it's the best thing I have ever done! I had a big standard one last time and this is on another level. I can see it will be amazing for breastfeeding too.

Leggings - H and M Mama ones are really thick and comfortable 👍

@simmy20 I didn't realise you were in Australia sorry. I hope you get down answers really soon xxx

Love to all Xxxxxx

Pugprincess · 15/10/2020 00:32

Aww congratulations @Smilingdonkey 💞

@DanceM1 good luck with your scan tomorrow 💖

SkyBlue20 · 15/10/2020 08:24

Morning!

@Sakura54 How lovely having all of that movement, must be nice for DH to be able to feel it too. I can’t wait to be able to feel her 🥰

@RosieJess91 Must be strange having one in each decade but also how lovely (and 44 is no age at all - my dad was way older than that when he had my siblings 😬) - it’ll be really nice to have that newborn stage but with the others able to help and understand - my dad definitely got a lot of babysitting out of me and DH and the kids adore(d - pre-Covid) coming to our house for the night.

@DanceM1 Yay to the negative test and good luck with your scan - amazing it got moved forward to the morning! Fab that your DH can be there, too. I’m just expecting that mine won’t be able to be but it’s a bonus if he is.

@Smilingdonkey Yay, congrats on your (probable) girl! 💕

ew1990 · 15/10/2020 09:24

@smilingdonkey congratulations on the scan! They are coming in fast now these scans.

@dancem1 good luck for yours this morning.

5 days till mine. Not that I'm counting 😂 I'm starting to get really nervous now. Just pray everything is ok and then I can start to relax

Threnody · 15/10/2020 09:44

So much going on!
@Workingmama1 glad your scan was ok!
@Smilingdonkey congratulations on your girl!
@RosieJess91 gosh, 4 decades! How lovely.
@MrsK21 - hope your booking appt goes well. Mine feels ages away, but also in person.

Sorry, I'm sure I've missed some things. Good luck for the scans coming up! And I loved the announcement pics!

I'm still feeling anxious over every twinge, and there are a lot of them! I have achey hip, shoulder, backaches, cramps.
I need to dig out my pregnancy pillows. I got mine from www.online4baby.com/ but they don't do the one I got anymore. It's a good site though.

RosieJess91 · 15/10/2020 11:21

@skyblue20 the eldest has her own little boy, so she's used to having a baby around. The middle one unfortunately has severe autism issues from chemo as a child, so he doesn't really do small children, just about copes with our 4 year old, so we haven't told him about the baby yet. And our 4 year old is very excited, keeps asking me how big the baby is now.
@smilingdonkey congrats on the little girly!
@workingmama1 glad I'm not the only one, don't remember feeling this type of pain with my son, but I also think I was kept very busy with work around this time. Whereas this time, I don't have a proper job. (Thank you Covid...)
Need to get a pregnancy pillow. I'm struggling to sleep on my side, and I find I wake up on my back and then have a really sore back all day. Been trying to put a cushion between my legs when I sleep to avoid the pelvis pain, which is definitely working, but my back is now not cooperating. 😔

DanceM1 · 15/10/2020 11:54

All good a the scan ladies🥰 so pleased to be half way through, feels like a huge milestone!!
