@Smilingdonkey my 20 week scan is the day after yours! At 3.20pm. Im really really nervous. Ive been aching soooo much today and getting quite a few pains. My bump seems to be growing quite a bit so I'm really really hoping its just growing pains but its hard to relax. I think I may have felt a little movement last night but its so hard to tell?! Have you felt anything?

Smilingdonkey · 11/10/2020 08:13

@bubblybon20 A boy! I remember that now! Congratulations again 🎉
I can't decide if I want to find out - I love the idea of a surprise (we found out with my DD) but I also desperately want to know ... 😫 I can't decide and my partner will go along with whatever I want!

@danceM1 I'm 19 weeks today and have had lots of cramps this week too. It's worried me 😫 I do feel like hitting 18 weeks and knowing they will help me in MAU rather than A and E reassuring for some reason. I was hospitalised with firboid degeneration at 21 weeks last time and every so often I imagine I can feel the niggling pains that all that began with. I really hope it's my imagination ... Are you finding out gender?

I have felt stirrings and churnings inside for a few days now but I am too anxious to accept that they are the baby moving. I don't want to say I felt it and then find out it stopped growing weeks ago and I imagined it all. I know that's just the trauma of the MMC talking though - I just can't quite shake it!

A week of scans next week then! Are you both able to take your partners in? Xxxx

DanceM1 · 11/10/2020 08:25

@smilingdonkey I can completely understand that. There is a huge growth spurt around 18/19 weeks isnt there and if we have both been feeling like that hopefully its a good sign really. Its just so hard leading up to a scan isn't it! Especially the 20 week one as I feel its a huge milestone.

We arent finding out the sex, no. Just want a surprise and honestly I'm not even tempted at the minute. I think its because I'm just so worried about baby being ok!

I can take my husband in yes but he has to stay in the waiting room until right at the end of the scan then he can come in apparently. Can you take yours?

Smilingdonkey · 11/10/2020 08:41

@Dancem1 I didn't know that about the growth spurt! That's reassuring!

I have been told by my midwife he can but I don't have that much faith in her so I will call and check tomorrow!

DanceM1 · 11/10/2020 09:04

@smilingdonkey that's what I was told at my scan at 17 weeks anyway! Im also going to call and double check my husband is allowed in!

SkyBlue20 · 11/10/2020 09:53

Morning all! Away to catch up properly but @Smilingdonkey @DanceM1 I thought you’d like to see this from one of the apps today - it’s very reassuring with the cramping going on xx

@RosieJess91 So with you on the only ironing when necessary - I actually bought a steamer so it’s even less of a faff when I need to iron something 😂 It’s ALL about sharing the jobs in the house, too - teamwork! Ignore your FIL, he sounds like someone whose opinion you really shouldn’t let bother you.

I can’t believe we’re almost at 20 week scans already, time is flying! Good luck @bubblybon20 @Smilingdonkey @DanceM1

@Simmy20 @Pugprincess Hope the bleeding/spotting has died down now. Xx

My post on FB has now raised almost £300 for the Miscarriage Association, I’m so humbled! I really didn’t expect it, just wanted to open up a conversation and raise some awareness, people are so, so lovely 🥰

Pugprincess · 11/10/2020 10:36

@SkyBlue20 aww well done that’s amazing! I think mine more or less has. My discharge has a very slight tinge I think. Not sure what’s going on but I have nhs scan tomorrow.

I was so emotional yesterday. I had a few cries! DH elderly and poorly grandma knitted us a beautiful cardigan and blanket for the baby so that set me off, they are gorgeous I will attach a pic, the cardigan has silver sparkles in it which didn’t pick up on photo. I also watched the newer lion king so that set me off too. And just a build up of worrying about the baby.

If nhs scan is ok I want to do my photo reveal but I’m now waiting on the baby grow as it arrives yesterday but says due April 2020 🤦🏼‍♀️ So hopefully the new one will be with us by Tuesday 🤞🏻

Oh thank you @skyBlue20 you're a star!! That is reassuring and prompted me to check the Flo app too and that says similar!
@pugprincess that little cardi and blanket are sooo lovely! It's such an emotional time and sometimes it all just has to come out!! X

SmileyT · 11/10/2020 15:36

Wow just caught up with you ladies... and two girlies added to the mix, congrats @Sakura54 @SkyBlue20 💕

@SkyBlue20 has your OH got the hiDaddy app, it was suggested to me on another thread and my DP loves it. He picked naughty baby and gets notifications like the attached pic 😂

@Pugprincess ahh so cute with the cardi, totally normal to feel nervous before a scan for us just be kind to yourself. Will be lovely to do a proper reveal, we only told our parents at 16weeks, so definitely couldn't announce before we told them 🙈

Welcome to all those who have recently got their BFPs 🥳 definitely aim for the little milestones... my next milestone is tomorrow at 18weeks and knowing that if I have any concerns I can actually go to the maternity unit and not have to go through A&E like I did with my MMC.

Another private scan tomorrow for me and I'm hoping that all is well or I've just been imagining these movements 😭

@skyblue20 great to know that about the cramping thanks!
And well done for raising all that money!! Xx

Smilingdonkey · 11/10/2020 17:25

@pugprincess that cardigan is gorgeous 🥰 Can't wait to see your reveal photo!

Just found out one of my friends is 10 weeks pregnant today - lovely to know our babies will only be a few weeks apart! Xxx

JoJo58995 · 11/10/2020 19:14

@Pugprincess that cardigan and blanket are just adorable 🥰 good luck for the scan tomorrow! 🤞

@SmileyT I might suggest the hiDaddy app to my OH 👍 sounds fab!

I had a big wobble this morning because at 10+3 I suddenly didn't feel as nauseous today. I slept better last night for the first time in ages so it might just have been that, but after my morning sickness disappeared about this time last time and it was when we found out the baby had died, I got really upset this morning. Managed to get a last minute private scan this afternoon as my 12w scan isn't for a week and a half (and I just didn't feel like I could wait, OH was really supportive thank goodness) and little bubba was there waving away 🥰🥰 Anxiety still creeping in but just trying to focus on that to get me through to next Wednesday to my next milestone, was so nice to see and have the reassurance even if it is for a short time! 🥰 hope everyone is having a lovely relaxing Sunday and looking after themselves xxxx

RosieJess91 · 11/10/2020 19:50

Mentioned the whole issue with my FIL to my mum today and my mum laughed and said she never irons, if she needs a few creases out, she uses her hair dryer! 😂😂
Definitely feel a lot better about the situation now!!
OH started painting the nursery today, he says he gave up because he decided he doesn't like the colour. 🤦🏼‍♀️ back to the drawing board!

Lollol86 · 11/10/2020 20:23

@Pugprincess absolutely love the cardi and blanket. Good luck for your scan tomorrow xx

Workingmama1 · 11/10/2020 21:04

@Pugprincess cardi and blanket are so cute! Good luck tomorrow!

Good luck @smileyT too!

My nan told me she's knitting a cardi but is waiting until we know what we are having before she outs the buttons on (different sizes for different sexes). So baby has it's first item of clothing, it feels weird!

Night 5 of no boob to sleep for my daughter and story and singing seems to be doing the trick!

Smilingdonkey · 11/10/2020 21:32

@ workingmama1 I am on day 6 of no boob for my DD!!! I wanted to get to 2 (she is 2 on Wednesday!) But it was just too sore! She doesn't seem bothered at all ... It's me that was upset 🤣 xxx

JoJo58995 · 11/10/2020 21:58

@RosieJess91 I can't believe your FIL making that comment! Me and DH are also in the shared chores clan, we're not in the dark ages. I can't believe he would say that, it's just so rude! We never iron anything in this house, we just hang them out and they dry fine. Life is too short!

Sophmoph93 · 11/10/2020 22:24

Hey, looking for some advise. I had a Miscarriage at 4 weeks and it’s been 5 weeks and I still haven’t had a period. Can I fall pregnant inbetween? My boobs are sore but no sign of period? Xxx

JoJo58995 · 11/10/2020 23:07

Hey @Sophmoph93, so sorry about your miscarriage 😔💕
Yes it is possible to fall pregnant straight after a miscarriage, it can also mess up cycles for a while though too. Did you have a negative pregnancy test after the miscarriage? It might be worth doing a pregnancy test to check? 🤞 Xx

Pugprincess · 11/10/2020 23:11

Thank you for the good lucks, so nervous!

His grandma is knitting us a hat and mittens next ❤️ I will keep her busy 😂

Can you imagine if you actually ironed every item of clothing for everyone in your house every week, I don’t think I could find the time! It would take so long. Mine gets creased in my wardrobe anyway as we have too much in there 😩

@JoJo58995 aw glad your scan went well and I’ve heard others say the sickness is worse if you sleep badly so good sleep must help. I’ve not actually thrown up once but I’ve felt sick fairly often. Been better recently (I’m 13 weeks tomorrow) but food shopping today set me off! Think it was looking at and being surrounded by all the different foods 😅 I can’t cough without gagging either 🙈

@Sophmoph93 definitely possible to catch after a miscarriage. I ovulated about 18 days after mine and caught right away (this was after 5 years of ttc so I never imagined it would happen so quick but glad it did). Have you done any tests? X

JoJo58995 · 11/10/2020 23:31

@Pugprincess I'm the same, not actually been sick, I've just felt permanently fairly hungover and if I think about quite a lot of foods I feel queasy 🤢 Been a lot better today though, if I hadn't had the scan my anxiety would have been through the roof by now even though I know it can be normal to taper off! Keeping everything crossed for your scan 🤞🤞

Pugprincess · 12/10/2020 02:09

@JoJo58995 thank you! I feel like this is such a huge milestone this scan. Which foods bother you now? I can no longer eat fridge raiders chicken or garlic cheese pizza 🤢 and I can’t eat choc hobnobs without getting instant heartburn lol. Just the thoughts of those foods makes me feel bad. I hate the smell of my dishwasher too (lemon tablets) and even worse if old food smell before putting it on! X

Simmy20 · 12/10/2020 05:43

So I've just had my scan. There is a sac measuring 6 weeks when I should be 6+6 so at this point they can't say if it's viable or not. Now I have to wait to see Dr but they said most likely that I will get bloods again to see what HCG is doing or wait for another scan. I hate still not knowing . My husband is positive with the low hcg numbers at first and with my cm it did seem that I ovulated later. 6 days seems a stretch though since I'm usually very regular. Plus the bleeding. I just don't know what to think

Starfish762 · 12/10/2020 07:07

@Simmy20 oh bless you, the uncertainty is agonising. When is your next scan? I’m waiting till I’m at least 8 before I have one just for the same reason as you, it’s really common for it to be too soon to see anything, and no matter how much we’ve tracked our ovulation & dates we can still be slightly out. Everything crossed that’s all it is for you & it just needs a bit more time to grow xxx
