All is perfect! Baby is measuring well, all the vital components are as they should be and they were wriggling around so much that they could hardly get a good picture. Found out that I’ve got an anterior placenta, too. And...

IT’S A GIRL! 💕

Good luck @SkyBlue20 ❤️

I’ve had bleeding this morning so in a state of panic! It’s pink & not a lot which I know can be normal, but isn’t 5+6 too late for implantation?! DH said we can go for a private scan but it’s so early I dunno if it’ll make my anxiety worse them saying nothing there yet 😫

ew1990 · 09/10/2020 12:49

@skyblue20 ahh how nice!! Congratulations!

I've rang the midwife about my hip. Got fobbed off with them saying it's probably not pregnancy related so to ring my doctor 😓 so now I've gotta wait for them to get back to me

Threnody · 09/10/2020 13:22

Congratulations @SkyBlue20 - such good news, and a girl!

@Starfish762 sorry you're having bleeding. Yes, won't be implantation at 5+6, but could just be a vaginal bleed. I know it's scary. I think they do scans from 6 weeks, but you wouldn't see much. Have you called the dr (not that mine was very useful when I had my bleed)? Keeping everything crossed that all is ok.

@ew1990 Hope the dr can do something useful.

@Workingmama1 it does seem long between appointments. I usually get an extra scan around 16 weeks with a consultant lady, as my first had micrognathia (detected at the 12 week scan) and a cleft palate, so they wanted to check my other 2. I'm hoping I'll get another one this time(if we get that far).

@MrsK21 Thanks. To be honest if I'm staying home, I mostly live in crop tops too! I think I'm just a bit strange, I get obsessed with taking tests - I like to see the progression, and it's the only thing I can do at the moment to see if everything is ok (even though I know it doesn't mean anything). I'm done now!

Starfish762 · 09/10/2020 13:24

@SkyBlue20 CONGRATULATIONS! Great pics too! 💞

Workingmama1 · 09/10/2020 13:27

Amazing @SkyBlue20 so pleased it went well! And yay for a girl! Which scan did you go for? Was it at window to the womb? Thinking of booking one for a few weeks.

@ew1990 thats crap of your midwife. It sounds like it could be pgp, the outcome will be the same via the gp to refer you to a physio. In the meantime in case it is pgp basically don't do anything that makes it hurt or aggregates it, when you get out of bed do it one leg at a time and try going up stairs sideways one step at a time. There is lots of info and some simple exercises which you can find on Google.

@starfish762 sorry to hear you are bleeding. As you said it can be completely normal. If you are sure when you ovulated a scan should show a sac with a baby but just a few days less than 5+6 and you may not see a baby yet. Could you ring your epu for advice?

My discharge is doing my head in, there is so much and I'm still panicking everytime that's im bleeding. Then yesterday it was more mucus like, a bit like ewcm/snot and one 'blob'. Not sure what is going on there....

Starfish762 · 09/10/2020 13:59

Just rang EPU but no answer so left a voicemail, I’m pretty sure I know what they’ll say but hopefully some proper reassurance may put my mind at rest. My parents arrive within the hour too, such a cloud over yesterday’s happy mood to see them & tell them. I’m sure all of you felt the same as me that you just couldn’t possibly imagine this going successfully for you?! It’s weird coz with DD I was so hopeful & positive, everything was great with the pregnancy & she was perfect. Soon as I got pregnant second time I said to DH I just feel like somethings going to go wrong this time, like it’s our turn for a bit of sh*t - and I was right. So these feelings of dread about this pregnancy are taking over, wondering if me thinking it so vividly means it is in fact going to happen 😭

ew1990 · 09/10/2020 14:10

@starfish I'm 18 weeks today and sometimes still Think its all going to go wrong. Hopefully its something and nothing and the EPU get back to you.

@workingmama thank you. It has eased a bit today but still painful. I Had to go upstairs on my knees yesterdAy as I couldn't physically lift my leg. Don't know how I'm going to manage at work x

bubblybon20 · 09/10/2020 14:18

@SkyBlue20 yay! Another girl to the thread! 💗 glad everything went well!

@Starfish762 sorry to here how your feeling today, hope you feel a bit more positive soon. It is really hard 😫 just got to stay positive. X

Poppy10121 · 09/10/2020 15:30

Congratulations @SkyBlue20 great news! X

RosieJess91 · 09/10/2020 16:29

Awesome news @SkyBlue20!

Honestly, I'm sure Social Services are going to take my son away, he's gone into school every week with new injuries to his face.
The first week, he fell in my parents garden and scraped the side of his face and cut his lip. Second week, he fell in my parents garden again and it left massive grazes on his nose. Today, he's just walked straight into my next door neighbours bush, sliced his lip (again) and left loads of little cuts all over his cheek 🤦🏼‍♀️

ew1990 · 09/10/2020 17:00

Aww @rosiejess my daughter's the same lately. Fell in the bath just after I'd emptied it. Fell off the bed and fell outside countless times 🙈🙈 no injuries apart from a scraped knee. I just managed to grab her legs when she fell off the bed thank god

DanceM1 · 09/10/2020 17:44

@skyBlue20 yeyyyyy!!! Great news!! So pleased for you! Welcome to the anterior placenta club! But haven't you been feeling movements??

@starfish762 sorry you are worrying, I can just imagine how you're feeling but hopefully the bleed is nothing..lots of ladies on here have had bleeds!

@ew1990 I hope you get your hip sorted.. i know from all my hyper mobility issues in the past how painful hip pain can be!! Hope you're ok.

Starfish762 · 09/10/2020 18:53

Thank you all for your replies. EPU rang back & really put my mind at ease, same midwife I actually dealt with for MMC who is LOVELY! She said implantation can be anything from 4-8 weeks, and the cramps Im describing are normal. The bleeding’s died off now thankfully, and I had a nap so FX the pregnancy tiredness is on the way! Gosh blood is so terrifying isn’t it!

@ew1990 hope you’re okay. My friend had SPD & I saw how horrific that was, a belt & little exercises really helped her (not sure if you have that, but thought I’d mention in case).

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend xx

ew1990 · 09/10/2020 19:17

Thanks ladies. Not to bad at the minute but I've rested all day. I have heard of a belt. I've got a phone appointment with the gp Monday morning so see what they say. I'm on my feet for nearly 13 hour shifts at work so hoping it eases for Sunday 😩

Omg I've forgot who I'm meant to tag already but glad EPU put your mind at rest ❤

Just had takeaway tea, wait for RD to go to bed then we are gonna start watching the haunting of bly manor. I've been looking forward to it for weeks. I loved the haunting of hill house

Lrr31 · 09/10/2020 19:52

Great news @SkyBlue20 on the scan and that it’s a girl, how wonderful.

Lots of messages to read - I also have a date align thing - baby is due exactly a year to the day I miscarried.

JoJo58995 · 09/10/2020 20:38

@SkyBlue20 congratulations on your baby girl, what lovely scan pics! So pleased everything is ok 💕💕

SkyBlue20 · 09/10/2020 21:31

Thank you everybody 💕 I’ve been enjoying the post-scan high all day whilst also remembering our lost little one on their due date. DH and I went for lunch, then for a nice walk, ended in the pub and then got a takeaway, a nice day off.
It’s still not really sinking in, it’s so bizarre, we’re going to have a daughter! I wonder at what stage the pregnancy will feel real?!

@Starfish762 Sorry to hear about the bleeding, glad the EPU were helpful. A lot of us have had bleeds early on and all is fine so it’s not always a bad sign, hope it’s just one of those things for you, too. Xx

@Workingmama1We went for the foetal health scan at Window to the Womb, it was great. Got all of the pics digitally and two prints, plus got to listen to the heartbeat and we purchased a video of the scan, too. They properly talked us through everything they were checking, too.

@DanceM1 I had a few what I thought could maybe be movements but am now thinking they weren’t - I guess I’ll know when I feel them. Seems the wait will just be a bit longer now but glad I had my scan and have the 20 week one at the end of the month so can handle waiting a bit for movements...for now!

@ew1990 So sorry you’re in so much pain, hope the GP can help you.

Simmy20 · 09/10/2020 22:28

@SkyBlue20 congratulations on your baby girl. How exciting. What a lovely day to celebrate your lost little one too.
Our original due date was 11 Sep which was just before our first wedding anniversary. We went away and had lots of wine and cheese and just relaxed. Was so nice to celebrate. I think found out about a week later I was pregnant so then obviously felt absolutely terrible about it all.

@Starfish762 sorry to hear about the bleeding. I hope everything is ok. Glad the mw was about to reassure you some. And like someone else had said there have been quite a few ladies here who have had bleeding and have healthy pregnancies. That has reassured me quite a bit as everything I read on google is terrible. I'm waiting desperately for my scan on Monday to see that everything is ok from my bleed. I'll be 6+6 then so won't be able to see much but will be able to see if all ok.

@ew1990 hope the pain goes away soon and everything is ok.

Pugprincess · 10/10/2020 03:41

Hello everyone 👋🏻

@SkyBlue20 congratulations on a little girl! 💗 lovely scan pics and sounds like you had a nice calm day out to remember your lost little one and celebrate your rainbow 🌈

@Starfish762 yes I had this, mine was light brown discharge for around two full weeks at 4 and 5 weeks. I worried too and unfortunately epu didn’t care or explain it to me but yes I think it’s just the baby burrowing more and getting snuggly. Mine cleared up by about 6 weeks. Cramps are good all growing pains aslongs they aren’t severe and accompanied with bright red bleeding. I also had a haematoma bleed of red at 9 weeks but scan showed baby was fine and bleed was outside the uterus. That led to another 2 weeks of brown discharge 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’m constantly fearful when going toilet or feeling discharge now 😭 the worry just never ends but it will hopefully all be worth it ❤️

@ew1990 sorry to hear your in pain and not much further forward to getting it sorted, good luck with the gp next then 🤞🏻

Well I’ve hurt my wrist today stopping the mother in laws dog jumping up at me. Guess my joints aren’t good now or it’s just bad luck. Also I had to rush out to the shop tonight as had such bad heartburn I couldn’t shift it and laying down to sleep made it worse so I’ve had peppermint rennie and feel much better thankfully. X

SkyBlue20 · 10/10/2020 05:37

Urgh, I’ve been awake since 4am, think I’m going to have to get up and get some toast soon, am starving. Pregnancy is a delight, isn’t it?! 😂🙈

Hope you’re feeling better @Pugprincess, sounds like you had a day of it!

Dipsy77 · 10/10/2020 06:57

@SkyBlue20 so pleased your scan went well and congrats it's a girl xx

Poppy10121 · 10/10/2020 08:54

@Simmy20 I don’t think you need to feel bad about wine and cheese before finding out you were pregnant! I have this book about debunking pregnancy myths (it’s called Expecting Better & I would recommend!) and it says in first couple of weeks it’s really hard to do any damage.

@Starfish762 I’m so glad the EPU have been able to reassure you. Those early weeks are so tough just waiting so I hope your scan brings some reassurance 🤞

@Pugprincess hope you’re feeling better today! Indigestion when you’re trying to sleep is the worst!

@SkyBlue20 this insomnia stage is so bizarre, I don’t understand how it’s possible to be simultaneously so awake and so exhausted 😩 hope you got back to sleep! I’m thinking to try getting a pregnancy pillow this weekend and seeing if it helps at all.

Simmy20 · 10/10/2020 09:04

@Poppy10121 realistically I know that. Which is why we decided to celebrate when we knew it was possible but it's hard not to think about it and worry if it's going to cause any problems and not wonder if that's what caused the bleeding.

DanceM1 · 10/10/2020 09:15

@skyBlue20 that sounds like a really lovely way to remember your baby that could have been and also celebrate your little girl!! Perfect 💖 After saying about movements I feel like i felt some last night. I am 19 weeks now so not impossible but its so hard to know when they're so subtle anyway isnt it?!
