Just discovered this group! I'm 5+1 weeks atm. I've had 3 MCs (at 6,8 and 11 wks), latest one was about a year ago. So... very anxious! I was seen by recurrent mc clinic earlier this year, and they're doing an early scan for me in 2 weeks time. They also prescribed me to take aspirin (150mg) and progesterone. I'm picking up the latter ones tomorrow, anyone here that had them prescribed?

Great to read so many positive stories here Flowers

MrsK21 · 07/10/2020 21:45

Hi @Coffee4me welcome! So sorry to hear of your previous losses - sounds like the clinic are taking good care of you this time round. I'm also 5+1 today!
I've not been prescribed progesterone but have been given aspiring too.
So lovely to see so many positive stories of ladies further along and nice that we've got a few June due dates together as well zzz

MrsK21 · 07/10/2020 21:46

That was meant to be "xxx" not zzz lol though I do feel zz are appropriate with all this fatigue!

ew1990 · 07/10/2020 21:48

@coffee4me welcome! Congratulations and sorry to hear about your previous miscarriages.
Sounds like your being looked after. I'm sure there are some ladies who have taken the pessaries?

Coffee4me · 07/10/2020 21:49

@MrsK21 zzzzz is very apt Grin

Threnody · 07/10/2020 22:08

Ladies who were talking about boobs - just wanted to recommend the boob or bust site. I used it after I had my first (and my boobs had gone back to 'normal'), and was amazed at what size I actually was, and how comfy it was to have a bra that actually fitted properly.

@Monkeysmommy hi! I am 5+1 today - I am getting nausea, but I always get it early (from 8dpo every pregnancy).

@CarlaKristina I know when my lmp was, and when I ovulated - currently claiming 5+1 based on lmp, technically I suppose I'm 4+4 based on ovulation. I will have to pick one of them eventually - usually the midwives go by lmp so it's easier to just agree with them.

@Workingmama1 glad your sickness is getting better. I'm sorry your breastfeeding is ending. It's a sad feeling. I stopped breastfeeding my son when I was pregnant last time - he weaned himself off though. Hope tonight went/goes ok. I agree, it is a long time between appointments.

@Jazper wow, congratulations on tandem feeding, that's amazing to be able to do that.

@Simmy20 that's great your hcg levels are good. I think it's supposed to double every 48-72 hours. Glad you've got your scan booked and that dh can go with you.

@ew1990 sorry your hip is so painful! Hope you can get some help tomorrow.

@bubblybon20 sorry you've been having aches and pains too.

@Starfish762 - I know, time is just going so slowly! Hope you get a proper booking appointment soon.

@MrsK21 I have registered with my midwife already (it's just a form to fill in here), and had a call today to arrange my booking appointment, which is on 4th November. Which feels so far away.

@Lrr31 how wonderful you got to hear the heartbeat. It's such an amazing sound.

@RosieJess91 - there is a lot to buy, definitely worth planning what you do want and you have time to look for bargains. Though I agree about the cold water steriliser - we used it a lot with my first, as he was tube then bottle fed, but it's been in the loft since! We did also use the microwave bags sometimes - very speedy.

@Lu93 aww, hi baby! So pleased for you.

@Coffee4me welcome, I'm sorry for your losses. There's getting a proper little group of us around 5 weeks now.

I've been having lots of cramps on and off today, plus achey right hip, and backache. Hoping it's normal, but I don't remember it being this achey in my previous pregnancies.

Threnody · 07/10/2020 22:24

I almost managed to talk myself out of testing with a cb dates today, but I got my 3+! That was my next milestone, I wasn't really expecting it yet, as I'm only 18dpo.

Pugprincess · 07/10/2020 22:40

@Threnody that’s fab I remember the relief of seeing that!

@ew1990 hope the pain eases or you can get some help with it.

@Coffee4me welcome and congratulations ❤️

Starfish762 · 08/10/2020 06:17

@Lu93 yey congratulations!

@Coffee4me sorry for your losses, welcome! I think there’s 5 or 6 of us now at the exact same stage.

@Threnody yey to 3+! Another thing to breathe a sigh of relief at :)

Although saying that, I barely slept last night. I’ve been having mild cramps but I’m 5+5 so implantation has been & gone. I don’t feel pregnant AT ALL so I’m just terrified! I said a few nights ago I was tired but I was fine last night so I think it was just coincidence. Surely I should have some symptoms now?! DH said we can book a private scan but it’s just too early so kind of pointless, and I don’t think EPU will do anything so dunno if it’s even worth ringing.

Lu93 · 08/10/2020 07:59

Thanks everyone!

@Starfish762 I know it doesn’t help when someone says try not to worry but, I had cramps throughout, and had barely any symptoms. Especially early on. I was obsessed with googling everything. I spoke to my doctor about it and she said do not compare your last pregnancy with this one, last time with my mmc I had cravings, morning sickness the lot and obviously that didn’t work out. But honestly this time round I’ve felt ‘too’ good and now being 13 weeks I’m finally accepting that maybe that’s just the way I am. Some people will call it lucky but at first I would have had all the symptoms and a bit of reassurance but unfortunately it doesn’t work like that! Xx

ew1990 · 08/10/2020 08:42

Thanks everyone. It's still painful 😩

To the ladies with the cramps with DD I had horrendous cramps and bleeding and bleeding with this pregnancy too yet with my MMC I had no cramps whatsoever and no bleeding. So for me cramps are a good thing

Sakura54 · 08/10/2020 09:19

Thanks ladies. So you won’t believe what happened. I was in hospital all day yesterday. I picked up DS from nursery and started getting pains on and off. Went to my appt and while waiting, felt like I was going to faint and the pain got worse like contractions basically. Quickly went to the toilet to check for blood which there wasn’t. Went to tell reception that I wasn’t feeling right but couldn’t even get my words out! Next thing I know there’s a commotion and they wheel me to a room to check me then had my scan. Such good timing right that this happened at my scan appt!? Then got taken to a doctor. Had my bloods done then they wanted to review my results so had to wait. Then other women came in with emergencies and the doctor went into theatre so I waited hours.

The pain got a bit better quickly (after going toilet) and results were fine, but got a bit of a lecture on not drinking/eating enough. I didn’t even bother arguing that I stuff my face these days, as they wouldn’t believe me from looking at my size, plus my non-existent bump. Dehydration, however, isn’t a new problem. I’ve been trying but clearly not enough. Had a swab done just incase, ouch, which they sent off for testing.

Anyway, the scan became an emergency one with two MW managers present, but it went very well. I’m having a girl! So I’ll have one boy and one girl.

Afterwards to make matters worse, we had car trouble in the pouring rain, so DH and DBro were back and forth trying to sort out my mum’s car. I was taken home though.

Also, you know how I said the 16w consultant didn’t think my split womb was an issue despite my previous pregnancy issues? Well turns out, it’s a big deal. I’m high risk again, so will be getting extra scans and monitoring! Good.

The End. Lol.

@Sakura54 oh my gosh! How scary. I'm glad you and bub are OK. At least you were there and were able to get a scan straight away. And congratulations on your girl!

Starfish762 · 08/10/2020 09:56

@Sakura54 oh gosh how scary! Glad all okay, and a girl WOOOO! The extra checks are a good thing, any issues will be picked up so try not to focus on the term ‘high risk’ - they also say it about over 35’s, high risk geriatric mother 😂🙈

bubblybon20 · 08/10/2020 10:01

Omg @Sakura54 what a stressful day for you!! I bet your glad it's over haha, I would of thought that a split womb would have been a pretty big deal to them, as it does sound like a higher risk! At least you'll be getting monitored for the remaining 20 weeks!
And omg!! A girl, congratulations! Is this the first girl in the thread? I think it is?! How exciting!! 💗

SkyBlue20 · 08/10/2020 10:23

Morning everyone!

@Ew1990 God yeah my boobs have exploded – I’ve already had to buy two lots of new bras because I quickly outgrew my normal ones, then quickly outgrew their replacements! I started as a 32DD as it is, every time I’m getting changed DH just chuckles at how big they are now 😂

Welcome @MonkeysMommy, @CarleKristina and @Coffee4me, I’m so sorry for your losses and I hope this journey is much smoother.

@WorkingMama1 Must be quite a sad milestone finishing breastfeeding your daughter, how did last night go? Won’t be long until you have baby to feed instead ☺️

@Simmy20 Blood results sound promising! Fingers crossed for the scan.

@Lrr31 Your MW appt sounds lovely, I’m so excited to hopefully eventually hear baby’s heartbeat!

@RosieJess91 That does sound frustrating about your partner! Just do it anyway 😂

@Lu93 Congrats on your scan, fab news!!

@Threnody Congrats on the 3+!

@Starfish762 Lots of people don’t get any symptoms and it’s still quite early, so they may still come. Know they can be reassuring though so sending love. Not too long until you could book a private scan and be able to see a heartbeat.

@Sakura54 Oh God, what a stressful day! How’re you doing now? Thank God you were already in the hospital when it happened. I don’t know if it would help but a girl I follow on Instagram has been posting today about a brand called Belly Bottle, which is one of those bottles that marks off how much you should have drank by what time but is specific to pregnancy (apparently you have to drink 50% more water than normal!) – might be worth looking at if you do struggle with drinking enough.
Glad the scan went well though and yay to a girl – I think you’re our first so far? Do they tell you if everything looks ok then and there? I’d assume so?
Good that you’ll be getting extra scans and monitoring – better to be kept an eye on than not ☺️

I'm suffering from real scanxiety today and the scan isn't even until tomorrow. Convincing myself that all sorts is wrong 😔 Tomorrow would have been my last due date, too, so I don't think that's helping with the MMC being at the forefront of my mind.
I know someone else (@RosieJess91 maybe?) had a due date either today or Sat, hope you're doing ok. xx

Threnody · 08/10/2020 10:39

@Sakura54 gosh, how scary! So glad you and your baby girl(!) are alright! Good that you'll be getting extra scans. I have trouble keeping hydrated too, really trying to drink more since I had the uti, but it is difficult. Don't worry about being 'high risk', I'm always 'high risk', it just means they keep more of an eye on you.

@Pugprincess thanks, it's great - I know rising hcg doesn't necessarily mean all is good, but it is reassuring anyway!

@Starfish762 thanks, yep! I have cramps this pregnancy, much more so than any of my previous ones, and while I have nausea, it is not as bad. I think it's just one of those 'every pregnancy is different' things. Lots of women get no symptoms until they're more than 6 weeks pregnant.

@SkyBlue20 big hugs - I really struggled around my due date, it's a difficult time.

Starfish762 · 08/10/2020 11:06

Thanks ladies, you’ve all reassured me slightly! My parents arrive tomorrow afternoon for the weekend so it could be the fact we’re going to tell me that I’ve started worrying too, it’ll make it feel more real & no matter how much we say not to get too excited I know they instantly will be. They’ll genuinely believe nothing will be wrong this time, which is lovely - if only we could all have that faith!

Just got my 12w NHS scan in the post, it’s for when I’m 13+2 on the Monday we go to centre parcs for the week. Hopefully I’ll be able to change it to the Thursday before as don’t have childcare for DD on Fridays. Now worrying about if something is wrong our long overdue holiday will also be cancelled 🙈

Starfish762 · 08/10/2020 11:06

going to tell them* (doh!)

Starfish762 · 08/10/2020 11:08

@SkyBlue20 big hugs ❤️ The dates aligning like that have to be for a reason, I’m sure of it 🌈

RosieJess91 · 08/10/2020 11:32

@SkyBlue20 mines on Saturday. So yeah, becoming a bit of a struggle. But glad to know this one is definitely okay, have felt it move a few times, so that's making it easier. Mine was either a very, very early loss or a blighted ovum, so I just keep thinking to myself there was never a baby, and it's making it slightly easier to deal with it. Not completely, obviously, because we desperately wanted another child and I sadly miscarried the day after my mother in law passed away. But it's my way of remaining positive.

Workingmama1 · 08/10/2020 12:30

Wow @Sakura54 glad everything was ok, good you were already in hospital!

@starfish762 I know what you mean about it feeling real when you tell people. Everyone I've told has been so positive and like oooh April baby, while inside I'm like I really hope so and that nothing goes wrong...

Bedtime went ok last night, my daughter asked for boob but we read and sang and she went down without too much fuss and slept through! Hope we can replicate tonight 🤞🤞🤞

I've had a weird stich like pain today, I thought it was round ligament pain but its still there when I'm not moving. Has anyone else had that? I feel like I've completely forgotten what is normal and worry about every ache and twinge...

In the office for the first time today, and a colleague I don't speak to much but is a real gossip was telling me about how someone else is pregnant and then saying to me you're not having a lockdown baby are you! I didnt know what to say 🤣

Starfish762 · 08/10/2020 12:46

@RosieJess91 whatever you need to do to get through it. One friend said it helps when she thinks that her son wouldn’t exist if it the MC hadn’t of happened, must be a weird feeling but I can imagine it definitely helps.

@Workingmama1 oh aren’t they going to feel a fool when you announce you are indeed brewing a ‘lockdown baby’ too 😂 It does feel like EVERYONE is pregnant this year tbf.

My scan has been changed without drama, I’ll be 12+4. Just praying I get there!

RosieJess91 · 08/10/2020 13:29

@Starfish762 that definitely helps, this one wouldn't exist, because I would have still been pregnant, so that makes me feel a bit better. But of course, this baby could turn out to be a little devil! Haha!

Since my son started school, I haven't been told a thing by his teachers, they haven't said how he's doing or anything. Today, I pick him up (Because he doesn't start full time until next week) and the one thing the teacher tells me, is that my son LOVES egg... Typical. Yes, I happened to already know that! He's always asking for eggs. Always!

SkyBlue20 · 08/10/2020 13:33

Thanks @Threnody xx

@Starfish762 Glad your scan got changed without hassle. Our scan is actually a private one so we booked it for that day especially, to have (hopefully) something to celebrate on an otherwise sad day but I didn’t think about how it would ramp up the anxiety. Hopefully all will be ok tomorrow and then the whole day will have a much more joyful light to it.

@RosieJess91 You absolutely have to think of it in a way that is easier for you. You poor things having that happen the day after your MIL passed, what an awful couple of days. Big hugs to you xx

@Workingmama1 Glad last night went well! I feel like I’ve had all sorts of pains, I’m trying to live by ‘unless it’s agony, it’s probably normal’ 🤞🏼
Haha how awkward about your colleague! As an aside, I really resent being lumped in to this ‘lockdown baby’ category, I just want to scream ‘IT SHOULDN’T HAVE BEEN THIS WAY!’ But if anyone says it I guarantee it’ll be a polite chuckle and move the conversation on! Agree with Starfish though, EVERYONE is pregnant - my Instagram and FB are just full of people announcing Feb and March babies at the moment!
