Good luck for your scan today @Sakura54! Hopefully the day goes fast for you 😀

ew1990 · 07/10/2020 10:07

@sakura good luck!

I really think I've done something to my hip. It's so sore and is agony to walk 😩

bubblybon20 · 07/10/2020 10:18

@ew1990 😫 oh no! Hope it eases! I've had awful stretching last night/this morning! Like aching In my lower abdomen😭

ew1990 · 07/10/2020 10:29

@bubblybon20 I forgot about all this stuff! 😂 it feels like I need to click it back into place. Might have a warm bath after work see if it eases it.

Hope yours wears off soon

bubblybon20 · 07/10/2020 10:52

Me too @ew1990 🤣

Starfish762 · 07/10/2020 11:27

Welcome @CarlaKristina - definitely a few of us all at the exact same stage due early June. @MrsK21 @Threnody @Monkeysmommy @Simmy20 (good news on the HGC levels!)

I have my standard blood test this afternoon. Keep going through waves of completely forgetting I’m even pregnant, remembering & being convinced it’s all going to go wrong as no symptoms yet, then phases of picturing a little baby with us in June 😩 This week is going a bit quicker so far coz work is busy, hope it lasts - last week went SO SLOW!

Simmy20 · 07/10/2020 11:36

@Starfish762 I know exactly what you mean. This has been the longest week ever for me waiting for that blood test. I have some symptoms but they seem to come and go or I wonder if it's all in my head (like my boobs growing) and the bleeding doesn't help. Good luck for your blood test!

My scan is booked for Monday 12 Oct so I will be 6+6. So excited but so anxious about it. Thankfully DH can come with me. I'm due 1 Jun

MrsK21 · 07/10/2020 11:55

@Simmy20 that's great news on your bloods, hopeful the bleeding resolves itself by the time you get to your scan.

Agree the last week went so so slowly, this week seems better but I still have severe anxiety because last time I was on/off spotting throughout week 5 and it got worse in week 6. I am wishing days and my life away right now but just desperately want to get to 6w uneventfully and then promised myself I will self refer for antenatal care as my first real milestone.

Any of the other June ladies, have you already registered with midwife? Do you have booking appointment dates yet? xxx

Good luck with scan today @Sakura54!

Starfish762 · 07/10/2020 11:58

@MrsK21 it’s all just so anxiety inducing isn’t it! I miss the excitement & naivety I had when pregnant with DD ☹️ I had spotting with her & an early scan because of it, and all was fine. With my second pregnancy no spotting at all but MMC. So nothing is putting my mind at rest. I self referred last week & had a call back on Saturday just to confirm things. Got a letter today saying book bloods ASAP & managed to get an apt for today (it was that or 3 weeks away). She said booking apt with MW would be between 8-12 weeks & I’d just get a call. They booked a date/time the last time so not sure why that isn’t happening this time, especially as I may be working/busy when they ring.

MrsK21 · 07/10/2020 12:04

With you on the naivety and I miss feeling excitment, hopeful that when we're a bit further down the line and things are fingers crossed, going well, we can all try and enjoy it a bit more.
Everything's so up in the air with hospitals, hopefully they give you an actual appointment for the booking appointment as 8-12 weeks is a huge range and how can you possibly ensure you're ready at all times for a call?!
I'd be tempted to ask them about it today when you go for your bloods - good luck with that as well! :)

Lrr31 · 07/10/2020 12:29

Hey ladies - congrats to all the newly pregnant, try not to let the anxiety take hold.

I just wanted to post and say I’ve just had a really lovely 16 week midwife apt where I got to hear baby’s heartbeat. I’m not 100% certain they always do them as they can’t always hear the heartbeat so they don’t want to cause extra alarm, but if you get the chance to, it really has brought me some comfort that baby is still in there. Also, after some of the bump photos, I got a little bit of fear as my bump is still quite small but she told me she could feel the top of my womb and everything felt right, so for FTM I think this is normal. Can’t believe I’m gonna say, size doesn’t matter 😂 jokes.

I wanted to ask, is anyone else contemplating a homebirth?

Also, my dates are 15th Oct (reassurance), 4th Nov (20 week), due date 23rd March

Starfish762 · 07/10/2020 12:47

@MrsK21 the bloods are just a 5 min apt at the standard clinic, so won’t be able to ask. If I get to my 8w private scan & all is well I’ll ring & ask if I can get a proper date/time for my booking apt. Hope the rest of the week goes quick for you!

@Lrr31 aww how lovely 🙂 When I had DD I didn’t have a visible bump till I was about 26 weeks! Even when I was 7/8 months pregnant it was tiny, I popped the final month. Everyone said it was coz I was slim & fit (not any more 😂), but my best friend had the same when she had her first baby & she’s bigger than me & has never exercised. Try not to worry (I do understand though coz I was the same!)

RosieJess91 · 07/10/2020 15:46

Honestly, my OH is driving me bonkers. One second he's all let's clear the spare room and start decorating it and the next he's looking at me like I'm crazy for searching for the cheapest prices for a steriliser.
He just said all that can wait, we've got months and months... has he forgotten how much everything costs? We need to buy things slowly so that it's not all a sudden huge amount of costs in one go next year.
How can he want to jump ahead and get painting, but not think it's a good idea to get stuff in? In fact, he's the one who said we should start buying nappies just the other day!!! Ahhh. Men!!!

ew1990 · 07/10/2020 16:00

@rosiejess oh they just don't get it sometimes.

How about a cold water steraliser. I used one with DD. Just fill with cold water pop a Milton tablet in and bottles are done in 15 minutes. Can leave them in for 24 hours before changing the water. I used the Milton one from boots. I'll try and find a link it was only cheap and didn't take up loads of room either

Starfish762 · 07/10/2020 16:46

A second vote for cold water Milton steriliser, SO EASY & no faffing with microwave. Plus some sterilizers only fit certain sized/branded bottles, and some babies are fussy (we tried 3 dif brands until we found the one DD was happy to take alongside the boob!)

Lu93 · 07/10/2020 17:16

Hey everyone! Finally had my 12 week scan although I’m officially at 13 weeks 2 days. My scan went great and had a very active baby wiggling around everywhere! My due date is now the 12th April 🤩 hope everyone’s doing okay xx

ew1990 · 07/10/2020 17:47

@lu93 aww ace! Proper chuffed for you

Pugprincess · 07/10/2020 19:06

Aww congratulations on a lovely and happy scan @Lu93 xx

Pugprincess · 07/10/2020 19:07

I’m stressed and annoyed again tonight, why do people keep doing things to annoy me at the moment?

RosieJess91 · 07/10/2020 19:14

Thank you @ew1990 and @Starfish762 I'll have a look, we were going to go with the Tommee Tippee electric one, as that's what we had last time, but last time there weren't many other choices! Everything seems to have changed in only 5 years!

Workingmama1 · 07/10/2020 20:04

@Jazper thanks for sharing your feeding journey, interesting she went back on to tandem feed. I knew it was coming, I was aiming to finish by the time she was 2 and she's 22 months now. Tonight will be the first night of not offering any boob, wish me luck! I'm sad about the ending of booby cuddles but it is probably the right time.

@Lu93 yay for your scan and looking good!

@Lrr31 how lovely you got to hear the heartbeat! They didn't do it with my daughter at 16 weeks, this time my appointment will be 18 weeks so wonder if they might do. I really hope they do! If my anxiety hasn't eased post 20 weeks I'm thinking about asking if I can have the same appointments as a ftm so I don't have as long between appointments and have small milestones to aim for. I'm not sure if they will but figured it worth asking! Otherwise they only see you at 28 and then 34 weeks before they become more frequent. I've still not heard from the bereavement midwife and not sure if I will now!

bubblybon20 · 07/10/2020 20:55

@Sakura54 hope you're scan went well 💗

ew1990 · 07/10/2020 21:22

@workingmama I know what you mean. I've got my scan at 19+4 then I see no one till 28 weeks.

I think I'm going to have to ring someone about my hip tomorrow. I've not got a midwife though so I'll just have to ring the community ones. It's got worse as the days gone on and now I'm struggling to walk, I could cry it's agony. Google suggests it's pgp 😓
