@Jazper lovely to see you here, honestly it's a really anxious time but time does go fast. I've had 2 reassurance scans to help get me through xx

bubblybon20 · 05/10/2020 19:30

@Sakura54 I know! The weeks seem to be going so fast now we're back in a routine of school ect! How're you feeling for your scan on Wednesday?

I haven't got a bump pic, but will take one tomorrow.

@DanceM1 how far are you now?
Considering I've had 2 children already, I felt like i didn't feel hardly any movement until 18 weeks, started off with small popping sensations! Not it's pretty obvious, and my tummy is hard where he is lying!!

Having a proper mare trying to decide a name to fit with my other 2 boys!
Nothing seems to click yet 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

SkyBlue20 · 05/10/2020 19:32

@Pugprincess Try not to worry, people go through all sorts whilst pregnant and their babies are fine. My midwife actually said to me at my booking appt that baby can’t pick up on any stress or anxiety until a few weeks in to the second trimester anyway so very unlikely baby will have even sensed it. Hope you’re ok xx

@Poppy10121 Oh no! Hope you’re ok! Sure baby is fine but understand the worry. Xx

@ew1990 Ahh the dreaded scanxiety, we all get it, don’t beat yourself up about it. The movements and bump growth are really positive, I’m sure all will be perfect xx

@Workingmama1 Glad you got to speak to someone and are feeling better about it ☺️ yes we really should update our list!

Welcome and congratulations @Jazper! The ladies have given you some very good advice - I too am a firm advocate of focusing on little milestones and just taking one step at a time.

@DanceM1 Seems our symptoms are mirroring each other, which is quite reassuring!

Those of you in the second trimester, do you still occasionally feel achey low down (not quite cramps but just a bit achey) and sometimes almost a bit tender to the touch? I do and I can’t help but worry about it. I also just got back from a walk and my whole stomach felt tight, not sore but like I was holding it in almost. Had a Google but not too much out there - only things were braxton hicks but it wasn’t painful so doubt it was them. Am physically exhausted after that walk, too, and it was only 40mins. If I’m like this now, what am I going to be like in the third trimester?! 🙈 Sorry, that was a moan and a half!

Workingmama1 · 05/10/2020 19:46

@skyblue20 I get quite achey in the evenings, and did after a 40 min walk yesterday. It's not doing much for easing my anxiety but good to know I'm not the only one!

Took a bump pic, it's a lot bigger now than first thing in the morning but feels massive for 13+3!

Welcome @jazper! Totally understand feeling like you've lost the naivety, as other have said I take each day at a time and mini milestones.

@Poppy10121 just to try to reassure you one of my close friends electrocuted herself quite badly multiple times on her electric horse fencing and she's just given birth to a gorgeous baby boy so it never caused her any problems, completely understand your anxiety but hopefully it won't have affected anything 🤞
@SkyBlue20 the same friend had what you are describing from 16 weeks fairly regularly, she always said they were Braxton Hicks but they never hurt at all, so maybe they could be?

ew1990 · 05/10/2020 20:36

Here's my bump pic. It's dark the lighting is rubbish 😩

MrsK21 · 05/10/2020 20:54

@Jazper yay you joined! You're only a few days behind me so definitely share any anxieties, a worry shared is a worry halved :)

@SkyBlue20 thank you lovely, hope this week goes by in the blink of an eye. And what a lovely bump photo 💛 can't wait to get to that stage!

@Workingmama1 @ew1990 love your bump pics also! I'm so excited for everyone :)

@Pugprincess I think I'm experiencing those growing stretching pains to some degree too.

Did anyone getting a pulling sensation behind their belly button at all? I got a few of them earlier and it really shocked me! Not sure what to make of it x

Threnody · 05/10/2020 21:29

Wow, lots of amazing bump pics!

@SkyBlue20 sounds like a Braxton hicks - they don't really hurt, they're more like a strong tightening sensation - and your tummy will go hard for a bit.

@Jazper congratulations! I am right with you on the anxiety - I was so happy and excited to see my bfp, but also nervous and worried in case it all goes wrong again.

@Poppy10121 So scary to have an electric shock like that! I'm sure all is fine, but totally understandable that you'd worry.

@Workingmama1 glad you got to talk to someone, what a good idea!

@Pugprincess don't worry - a little bit of stress isn't going to do anything bad.

@ew1990 sorry you're anxious, big hugs! Prods and pushes sound great.

@bubblybon20 Names are hard, our first boy was easy, second took us a week, so if this one's a boy we're really going to struggle!

Starfish762 · 05/10/2020 21:30

Loving the bump pics ladies 🙂

When did everyone’s tiredness start? I’m only 5+2 so think it’s too early, but I’ve been yawning for an hour 😂

Threnody · 05/10/2020 21:57

@Starfish762 Mine's started already - and I'm only 4+6! I did start out at a pretty high level of tired though.

Jazper · 05/10/2020 21:58

Thank you all. So welcoming and such brilliant advice. So, the general consensus is milestones. Tomorrow I would be due on my period, so Wednesday will be a milestone at one day late. And Sunday I'll be 5 weeks. I think at 6 weeks my anxieties will settle and then it's only another two until my early scan. That's a good start I think.

Beautiful bumps ladies 🥰 can't wait for one of those again! ❤️

Yes @MrsK21 I'm tentatively here 😌 I don't want to leave the ttc group but as you say, it's nice to have a haven to talk about pregnancy. And I'll be glad to share the anxieties with you. I've got those growing, stretching pains too. They feel like period pains but I've had them with all of my pregnancies (three earth side babies). I think I'm just more conscious of them this time because of my mc.

@Lollol86 how many weeks were your two reassurance scans?

ew1990 · 05/10/2020 22:09

@starfish mine started early. And sorry to say I'm still exhausted all the time. I do have low iron and a b12 deficiency before pregnancy so they are gonna keep an eye on it. With DD I remember getting some energy back around the 20 week Mark.

Lollol86 · 05/10/2020 22:22

@Jazper 7 & 10 weeks. It's actually amazing how much they grow in 3 weeks. My baby went from looking like a little bean to the shape of an actual baby xx

Lollol86 · 05/10/2020 22:23

@Starfish762 definitely not too early, tiredness was my first symptom at around 4 weeks xx

Simmy20 · 05/10/2020 22:41

So much to catch up on! Lovely bump pics. Welcome @Jazper

@Starfish762 I'm 6 weeks today and have been exhausted for the last week. I don't think it's ever too early.

I've got my blood test this morning to check HCG levels to see how things are going after the bleed and then if that's still good then will have a scan booked in to check. I'm really hoping everything will be OK. This has been the longest week waiting for it. I feel that the bloods will come back that they are increasing (pregnancy tests are still very strong positive and I've had symptoms and started morning sickness) so I'm really just dying for a scan to see that it's actually viable and growing where it should be

MrsK21 · 05/10/2020 22:58

@Starfish762 I'm 5 weeks and been tired since 4+1!!!!
It seems to come in waves though

@Jazper I feel I'm tentatively here too but as you say, breaking it up will hopefully make it go quicker. At 6 weeks I've decided I'll register with the midwife and then scan at 8 weeks, hopefully booking appointment at 10 weeks then dating scan around 12. When I say it like that - it feels manageable 🤪

@Lollol86 aw that's amazing they grow so much in that time. I'm excited to get to that stage but trying to keep my excitement measured atm until I get past when I lost the last one x

Lu93 · 06/10/2020 00:41

Lovely to see some new members 😘 I always love hearing more success stories, i really do love this thread. I find that when the anxiety starts creeping in it really does help! I definitely can relate to the crystal ball boobs comment!

So this weekend seems like a big milestone for me, not only have I now hit 13 weeks but I feel like I’m definitely getting some sort of bump... well I no longer can wear my jeans anyway! But we told the mother in law this weekend. The last time we saw her I was only 7 weeks at our nieces birthday party. So once we told her and showed her the lovely video we had at our scan she shouted I knew it!! Turns out she thought I was and tasted my ‘wine’ and obviously it didn’t have alcohol in it, and that my boobs looked massive... feels weird her knowing. Part of me likes that she knows and then when she keeps saying oh I’ll be coming and stopping with yous for at least 2 weeks... and I’m thinking what?! That’ll soon me changing! That isn’t just me surely?! She lives 3 hours away so I get she wants to be here but 2 weeks?! 😅

DanceM1 · 06/10/2020 06:23

@bubblybon20 im 18 weeks but anterior placenta means im unlikely to feel anything yet!

@SkyBlue20 yes I was thinking that and we are at a similar stage arent we so hopefullt a good sign 🙏🤞 I also get achey yes.

Actually I've been meaning to ask... does anyone get back ache sleeping on your side. The last week or so ive been waking up and its like my back is almost in a spasm and it take ages for it to feel normal again every morning. Sure this isn't good at this stage. Im wondering whether a different maternity pillow may help?!

DanceM1 · 06/10/2020 06:24

@ew1990 I love your bump pic! X

Starfish762 · 06/10/2020 06:33

Thanks all for your replies about tiredness, that’s reassuring. I never have symptoms with my pregnancies, with DD I just felt lucky but now I’m terrified & want sickness & sore boobs! Done a CB test which says 3+ so that’s a relief it’s increased. Going to tell my parents at the weekend at 6w so that’ll be the first milestone, then hopefully private scan at 8w but Im holding off booking it as long as poss.

@Lu93 my parents live 300 miles away so when I had DD they wanted to come down instantly but I wasn’t ready & said we needed a few days at home first (I was in hosp for 3 nights after having her), it became a big drama but I didn’t budge, they came all the way down for 1 night & went back the next day. Then they came down a month later & stayed a few days. The first couple of days/weeks are a whirlwind, I was so sore down below, exhausted off a long labour & no sleep for 3-4 days, then trying to get the hang of BF was so tough. I’m very close to my mum but I still didn’t want her there to stay during that period. Be different if she lived round the corner. I did feel bad for her but she had to respect my wishes, the hormones after giving birth meant I was crying every hour for a good week 😂 Not good conditions for visitors.

ew1990 · 06/10/2020 09:31

@lu93 I understand you not wanting her to come and stay for 2 weeks. I did have a lot of help from my mum and mil after DD but they live like ten minutes away so just used to Bob while I got the hang of things. In fact it was my mil who helped me shower after I gave birth 🙈🙈

@dancem1 i heard a pillow inbetween your knees keeps the pressure off your back while you are sleeping.

Once I've started typing I cant go back to see who else has commented. All us ladies on the thread have got through it by setting little milestones. Before youse know it the 12 week scan will be here. I was so nervous before mine I couldnt stop being sick

Lollol86 · 06/10/2020 09:33

@Simmy20 best of luck with your bloods 🤞🏻

@MrsK21 honestly I'm not past the stage of losing my last one and I've had the 2 scans but I'm still not allowing myself to get excited xx

Lollol86 · 06/10/2020 09:34

Should say now past

SkyBlue20 · 06/10/2020 09:58

Morning everyone! Another grey, rainy one here – so miserable!

@Workingmama1 What a lovely bump! Thanks for sharing that you get achey, too – I guess it makes sense with all that’s going on in there but still a worry, isn’t it?!

@Jojo58995 @Threnody Ahh maybe it could be Braxton Hicks then – Google told me they hurt but then yesterday my app told me they don’t and a few threads I’ve seen on here say they don’t too. Thank you – I learn so much more from this thread and MN in general than I do by any ‘official’ channels!

@Ew1990 Another great bump!

@Starfish762 I think I was tired from the off if I remember correctly! I definitely had to have lunchtime naps for a lot of my first trimester. Still shattered now tbf.

@Jazper @MrsK21 They all sound like great milestones – and really manageable, too.

@Simmy20 How did the blood test go?

@Lu93 Oh nooooo to the MIL staying for two weeks, absolutely not! Plenty of time to deal with it but I’d get your partner to nip it in the bud sooner rather than later. She could always visit for a few days but stay in a hotel? We’re lucky that our parents live close so can pop in and leave when we need them to but just yesterday we were discussing that we don’t know what that will look like for us – think we’ll just need to see how we feel when we get home with baby (I always feel like I need to put a 🤞🏼 when writing things like that!)
