@Poppy10121 glad to hear your sisters home safe, hope she makes a speedy recovery. X

Lollol86 · 04/10/2020 15:26

@Pugprincess so jealous you are allowed to take someone with you, dh has to wait outside the hospital. Absolutely terrified of going alone after last time xx

Simmy20 · 04/10/2020 15:30

@SkyBlue20 haha yes i thought you were much earlier. It is nice to have some reassurance. Hopefully not long until you feel baby move which will be nice.

I've just vomited for the first time. I'm 5+5. After the heavy bleeding with clots it's reassuring for me though. I just said to DH well hopefully that's a good sign. He looked at me like I had 2 heads for being happy about vomiting hahaha

@RosieJess91 glad to hear your sister is ok!

SmileyT · 04/10/2020 19:57

Sorry haven't caught up on everything at all... life is just getting so busy. But @SkyBlue20 I feel you i was out from about 10am until 7pm today with friends, had a lovely time then came back and threw up 🤢 and I've had to get into bed, my 2nd trimester bloom hasn't really kicked in. I'm 17weeks tomorrow and so tempted to book a private scan for next week as I just feel 5weeks in between scans is too long, I strangely don't feel anymore 'safe' in the pregnancy now then I did at 7weeks, wish I could snap myself out of it x

bubblybon20 · 04/10/2020 21:55

Helloooooo, I'm still here! @SkyBlue20.
Just been a bit busy the past couple of weeks! But do pop on to give a read daily!

Welcome all newbies, crazy how full it's got but exciting!! 😜

Nearly to the halfway mark 😀
Madness how much movement has been going on!
Can feel his kicks so much now, and his literally level with my bellybutton.
Still can't believe how fast these weeks have flown, got my 20 week scan a week Tuesday 🤞🏻

Hope everyone is doing well! 😃 xx

MrsK21 · 05/10/2020 09:53

@Simmy20 I had an evening of vomming too, it was really unpleasant and I'm suffering with horrific heartburn too. I'm a few days behind at 5weeks so maybe I'm just more prone to this

@Pugprincess so glad you get to take your OH and yay to 12 weeks! Can't believe how quickly that's gone (probably feels like an eternity to you though) still feels it's only been a couple of weeks since you'd got your bfp

@bubblybon20 aw that's amazing you're feeling so much movement, must be so reassuring!

In the last pg, this is the week I started spotting so I'm a bit nervous going into this week, hoping and praying nothing like that happens this time xxx

RosieJess91 · 05/10/2020 09:53

Instead of finishing off the measurements today, they decided they would just stab me in the arm, take a blood test for DS and hope the baby is being good at my 20 week scan.
So that was annoying. Paid £2.30 to be stabbed in the arm. Yay.

Threnody · 05/10/2020 10:20

@RosieJess91 glad your sister is ok.

@Workingmama1 Thanks. I say definitely take it easy.

@SkyBlue20 I filled in the online 111 form, and got a call from my local ooh - she had to consult someone else and call back again after I said I was pregnant! I got some antibiotics and had to drop off a urine sample at my drs this morning. Fingers crossed you get to take oh to your scan.

@Pugprincess They have a monitor - not a huge one - you can watch while they scan. They should talk you through it once they've established everything is ok.

@Simmy20 - yeah, it feels odd to be happy about nausea/vomiting, but it always feels reassuring when you're pregnant!

@MrsK21 keeping everything crossed that this week passes uneventfully for you.

SkyBlue20 · 05/10/2020 11:03

Morning everyone!

@RosieJess91 Glad your sister's op went well, how's her recovery going? So annoying that they didn’t do the measurements today!!

@PugPrincess I hadn’t been having much discharge at all so my extra might just be the norm for others – here’s hoping 😂 Hope you enjoyed your doughnuts, I’d kill for a doughnut with a cuppa right now! Oh and happy 12 weeks! 🥳

@Simmy20 Totally get being happy about the vomiting! Hope you’re feeling a bit better today.

@SmileyT Sorry to hear you’ve been feeling rough, too, hope it’s eased off today. I also am waiting on that second trimester honeymoon period I’ve heard mentioned so much - and there’s definitely no glow here! Agreed that I don’t feel too much safer now than 10 weeks ago, it’s so hard to snap out of, isn’t it?! Just keep telling yourself that the odds are in your favour – and feeling rough is still a positive sign!

@Bubblybon20 Glad all is well! Can’t believe how soon your 20 week scan is, so exciting!!

@MrsK21 Sending a hand hold for your tough week, the odds of the same happening again are low but completely understand the anxiety and was the same myself.

@Threnody Glad the UTI is being treated, hope you’re feeling ok.

So after feeling ROTTEN yesterday, I’ve woken up today with a much larger bump – seems once again baby was doing some good growing and making me feel all the worse for it! Has helped reassure me a little today at least – clearly something is still going on in there.
Quickly coming up to what would have been my due date on Friday, just hoping for good news at the scan that day so we can celebrate this baby whilst remembering the last one and what could have been. It’s VERY strange thinking baby could have been here now or be so close to arriving. I don’t feel like I’d have been ready but of course, I would have been. I think in terms of work and finances, etc, March is definitely better for us but how lovely it would have been to be welcoming baby at this time of year. Equally, March is great as not heavily pregnant through the Summer but get mat leave then instead!

Workingmama1 · 05/10/2020 11:26

Morning!

How frustrating @RosieJess91, did they give a reason for not rescanned you?

After feeling calmer about my bleed and hematoma, I've had a little freak out after more googling, which I know I shouldn't have done! Google suggests those in the late 1st or 2nd trimester are more concerning. The sonographer didn't seem too concerned but it was a private scan, and when I rang the hospital back they also didn't seem to concerned and didn't offer any extra follow up care so not sure if I'm reading too much into it. But I'm not actually sure who I spoke to at the hospital (it could have just been the epu receptionist) although they did check with a dr...I don't see a midwife until 18 weeks as they randomly do the 16 week appointment late here. I've not had anymore bleeding which I guess is a good sign, but with this hanging over me I feel like I can't get excited about this pregnancy. Its really getting me down and I'm struggling to concentrate at work. I don't have a contact for my named midwife either so feeling a bit lost and unsupported.

RosieJess91 · 05/10/2020 11:39

@skyblue20 she's at home being looked after by her boyfriend and cat, so I think she's happy now. No longer in pain, so that's the most important part! And she still has both ovaries!!

@workingmama1 they just said my 20 week scan had been appointed and because it wasn't too long from now, there was no point as things would be easier at 20 weeks anyway. Considering they told me my next scan was 10th Nov, that feels like a long time??

Sakura54 · 05/10/2020 11:56

That’s annoying that they changed their mind about scanning @RosieJess91

@SkyBlue20 I still feel like vomiting now and again too (I very nearly did this morning) and things still stink sometimes. I’m not surprised though as with my first I was still vomiting in the car well into the second trimester. What is weird is that after I retch, I start sneezing!

I was also wondering about you @bubblybon20
as you’re usually the most active one. Yeah, loads of new ladies suddenly joined which is great.

Got a MW appt tomorrow morning, so have to remember to pee in a cup first thing otherwise I’ll be sitting there downing water for a while again. Bump is getting bigger very slowly. Baby is the size of a mango now. Maybe next week I’ll have something big enough to show you guys. How about you all? Where are the bump pics at?! Bloating is getting worse. Even just having tea and biscuits for breakfast is enough to give me a belly!

OP posts:
SkyBlue20 · 05/10/2020 12:34

Ohh @Workingmama1, I'm so sorry you're struggling. Could you call triage and ask if you can speak to a doctor or midwife there as it's really getting you down? COMPLETELY understand the worry and I'm sure having a professional talking you through it will do a world of good.

@RosieJess91 That's fab for your sister, so glad it all went well.

@Sakura54 Wow, the size of a mango! Baby is a pomegranate this week for me. Agreed, I want to see some bump pics! Will post mine in a mo now that it's just grown overnight.

SkyBlue20 · 05/10/2020 12:35

Bumping along nicely...

Pugprincess · 05/10/2020 13:09

Aw lovely bump thank you for my happy 12 weeks @SkyBlue20

@MrsK21 yeah in some ways it’s gone fast but in other ways it’s draggggged.

Guys have any of you been so upset and stressed while pregnant? I’ve been really upset this morning and now I’m worrying I’m going to cause myself a miscarriage. My last one started after a massive stress out so I don’t know if it was coincidence. Praying this baby is strong enough to survive it. So my Friday scan has worn off now as I’m back to worrying. DH was the one who upset the knob 😩

Poppy10121 · 05/10/2020 14:15

@Pugprincess happy 12 weeks! At my NHS scan I did get quite a lot of time seeing the baby because he was being naughty and not lying still for the measurement, so we got a tour of all the arms/legs/brain/bladder etc while she was prodding about! Definitely a lot more in-depth than the EPU scans which are just checking for life signs. I really enjoyed it and was glad to have someone there with me who could enjoy it too :-)
Sorry you have been feeling upset and stressed. If it helps, I have found it an emotional rollercoaster - I ended up telling one colleague about the pregnancy because I was acting so out of character and got extremely upset about something really small at work, and I've had a couple of full-on meltdowns which I am very sure is 99% hormones. Maybe try some deep breathing to calm the stress signs in your body?

How annoying @RosieJess91! Were they able to get a measurement at all last week? My sonographer persevered for a very long time trying to get a measurement off a stubborn baby because she said otherwise the bloods might not be accurate.

@workingmama1 sorry you are feeling so down about it all :-( Can you try calling up the maternity unit and asking for a phone appointment with a midwife to talk things through?

@SkyBlue20 what a lovely neat bump! Looking great!

I've had a rollercoaster couple of days, managed to give myself a small electric shock doing some cleaning (don't ask) and ended up in A&E to get checked over. They wouldn't scan as they were very sure it wouldn't have affected the baby, but I think that's the end of my 'calm after scan' feeling! I was going to start telling some people this week but feeling anxious again now.

Lollol86 · 05/10/2020 14:21

@Pugprincess I was in a really bad mood Saturday, honestly even just looking at my dh face made me angry. Don't worry yourself we all have bad days. As long as you aren't feeling stressed all the time it shouldn't cause any harm. 1 week today until your scan 😁 xx

ew1990 · 05/10/2020 14:57

Wow so much to catch up on. I can't tag everyone individually.

So sorry to the ladies who are still experiencing bleeding. I know how scary it is. Hopefully it calms down soon. So nice to see so many new ladies too!

Ive had really bad anxiety. I was looking forward to my scan and now I just dread it in case it's all gone wrong but I feel so much movement this morning. Loads of little prods and pushes. Maybe it moved up a little bit. Bump is definitely coming along so that's reassured me a bit x

Workingmama1 · 05/10/2020 15:53

@pugprincess I wouldn't worry about it, it's highly unlikely that being upset for a bit will do.any harm to the baby. With hormones and anxiety I think we've all had our moments!

Amazing that 20 week scans are coming up soon for some of us!

@poppy10121 eek to electrifying yourself, hope you are feeling ok now.

I remembered that I have access to a midwife through my health insurance so rang them up. Obviously she hadn't seen my scan so couldn't say that much but I do feel better for talking to a professional. Annoyingly the sonographer didn't say where the hematoma was in relation to the placenta, and it seems that's the crucial thing for it potentially being an issue or not.

@SkyBlue20 bump is coming along! Mine seems tomhave popped a bit in the last few days, but its always worse at night so I guess its still at least part bloat 🤣. My belly button has nearly fully popped which I'm not a fan of. It went early with my daughter too.

We should probably update our list of due dates and scans with so many dates confirmed and new ladies joining us 😊

Pugprincess · 05/10/2020 16:56

Thank you @Poppy10121 @Lollol86 and @Workingmama1 for your reassurance xx

Good thinking going down the healthcare route workingmama

@ew1990 aw the prods and pushes sound very reassuring! 😍

I’ve had some growing pains as usual so hopefully baby is all ok and wow tmi but I literally filled a panty liner at work today with discharge it’s that much 😱😅

Jazper · 05/10/2020 17:13

Hello all and congratulations. Very gingerly joining you here on the suggestion of @Pugprincess after a loss in Feb of this year. I got my bfp finally after 7 cycles of ttc, last Thursday. It was faint but I took another on Sunday which was darker. Trying not to read too much in to the colour of the lines but feeing like the mc has stolen all blissful naivety from me. Praying for a healthy heartbeat at my early scan on Oct 31st.
How did you all feel after seeing that first bfp post loss? And how on earth do I make it to 12 weeks without having a nervous breakdown 🙈😕 xx

Pugprincess · 05/10/2020 17:38

@Jazper yay glad to see you here! I felt great initially but then the cogs start whirring and you start getting anxious. Just focus on the milestones. My first one was 5 weeks as your out of the chemical pregnancy thing then. Obviously every weeks a milestone. Booking in with midwife and scans are others. One day at a time xx

Lrr31 · 05/10/2020 18:27

Hey @Jazper - the first trimester is pretty anxiety inducing but one thing I would tell myself was that the odds are in my favour. I know consecutive losses happen, but it’s not the same likelihood as a single miscarriage, which is 1 in 4. Statistically the odds are in your favour, so I would tell myself that when I was getting a bit panicked. I also found myself grabbing my nipples all the time 😂 I think they’re like a pregnancy crystal ball, if they were still a little sensitive, I’d think, something is still going on in there. Even now in my second trimester when my symptoms have calmed down, you’ll often finding me holding them haha. I dunno if that is at all helpful, but that is what is did. Sending love + good vibes 💛

DanceM1 · 05/10/2020 18:29

Welcome @Jazper! I think we have all had lots of worries and felt exactly as you're saying now. I think generally we feel great after a scan but the anxiety does creep back in if I'm being honest...think its the nature of what we have all been through but you'll find lots of support here.

@SkyBlue20 ive had exactly the same with my bump... feels like its grown a lot over night.. even my head commented on it today so I will need to tell my class soon! Also with you on the discharge 👀 I havent really had it until now so i had panics about bleeding as well!

@bubblybon20 its so exciting about the movement..i really cannot wait to start feeling something. I dont think ill feel anything before my 20 week scan so I'm going to be panicking again!

JoJo58995 · 05/10/2020 18:38

@Jazper congratulations on the bfp. And yes it is literally just one day at a time. I feel like I'm just existing trying to tick off the days, got my date for my 12w scan through today and it's on 23rd October. It's not even that long to wait but it feels like an eternity because this is when things went wrong for me last time. So I completely understand your feelings about having lost the naivety of it all. We're all here for support whenever you need us. We can do this 💕💕
