Exhausted. This is my last week at work and I have my obstetrics appointment tomorrow so I'll know what options are available to me.😊

May2021Mummy · 16/03/2021 20:18

@Rascalia86 aw yay hope you have a good last day at work.

I'm pretty tired as well anytime I do anything I need a nap I've also had some really bad migraines lately which wipe me out

11 weeks to go and counting

eternalflame2020 · 22/03/2021 10:16

Good morning! 34w+2 here and wondering how everyone else is doing?

I've gone from having a relatively easy time (constant UTIs aside and a bad bout of SPD) to having a week with lots of symptoms! Was in for reduced movement last week but all back to normal now. Since then I've been having period like cramps each day, nausea, upset tummy and heartburn. The next 6-8 weeks is looking more of a challenge than I'd thought!

Do you know if you’re having a girl or boy?

33+1 today, left rib hurting constantly and I think I have sciatica 🥴
Feeling really heavy now. I get bloated very easily too.
Hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well!

eternalflame2020 · 22/03/2021 10:44

Hi @ayyx I'm having a boy! Do you know yours?

Yes, definitely feeling heavier moving around. Bump is also measuring two weeks ahead....got a growth scan at 36 weeks.

Have you started preparing hospital bag and cot etc yet? We live in a small space so I'm trying to wait as late as possible to get bigger items built!

Heyy, I’m having a boy too! It’s my second pregnancy and the symptoms I have/had are very different to when I had my girl! Ahh you’re lucky you get another scan, my hospital used to do that 36wk scan too but they’ve stopped it now :( I’ve already got a cot from previous (she doesn’t even sleep in it 😩) going to borrow my cousin’s Moses basket I’ve already got the main things in place since this is my second, just need to buy more clothes. I’ve got a list of what I need for the hospital so still need to go and buy some. Feeling nervous about giving birth again Blush. How are you feeling?
eternalflame2020 · 22/03/2021 11:19

@ayyX aww so excited to have a little boy! It's funny how people say the symptoms are so different for a girl and boy. This is my first so I'm winging it!

I've done the positive birth company hypnobirthing course which has made me feel pretty chilled at this point. I'm happy to live in a world of naivety that I'm just going to breathe the baby out and it'll be all rainbows and sparkles Grin

Few more weeks of work for me! Trying to plan what I'll do to pass the time

😂😂😂 very positive thinking! Haha

I feel like I’ve been barely working since having first baby, we keep going into and out of lockdowns :(
I was hoping they would open up this March so I could at least work a bit before baby no2 comes out but they changed it to April, so I won’t be going back to work anymore.
I feel like I’ve been off work for so long now 😭 kinda miss it!

Have you got a birth plan? And have you bought a lot for baby yet?

May2021Mummy · 22/03/2021 13:08

I'm having a boy at the end of May feeling pretty organised. I have 4 more weeks at work and then I just need to wash all his clothes and sort out our bags.

The closer it's gets the more I'm starting to panic about the actual giving birth part I'm not sure my pain threshold is as good as I thought. I'm not sure watching lots of one born every minute helped 🤦🏻‍♀️

We have picked a name now though although we are still aware that we need to see what he looks like before 100% committing

Rascalia86 · 22/03/2021 15:46

Today is my first official day of my maternity leave! Whoop! I've left earlier than I originally planned because I'm so exhausted and uncomfortable. I'm 33+3 and having a little girl! Got the first load of her things in the washing machine but gonna use all the time to make sure the rest of the house is sorted.
I'm a little nervous now that giving birth is as close as it is, this is my first baby, but I'm oddly looking forward to it.
Hope everyone is doing well?

eternalflame2020 · 22/03/2021 19:40

@may2021mummy yay to another boy. I've watched one episode of one horn and it was way too stressful.

We have a name too, but have gone full confidence and have a couple of items with his name on already...eek!

@rascalia86 I've done my first wash today and started packing his hospital bag. I am also oddly excited and looking forward to the birth too!

Midwife this week for 34 weeks appt. Little bit nervous for the bump measurement as he's been off the chart so far.

eternalflame2020 · 22/03/2021 19:42

@ayyX sorry I missed your message before! That must be really strange, I get why you'd miss it but very soon you'll have something (or someone) else to keep you occupied and on your toes!!

I haven't done birth plan yet, although have a good idea from hypnobirthing course. Are you using same plan as your first?

AyyX · 22/03/2021 22:46

@eternalflame2020 my first birth plan didn’t go as planned but I do want to try waterbirth this time if possible

May2021Mummy · 23/03/2021 08:44

@eternalflame2020 have you told people the name or are you keeping it a secret? I know some people don't like sharing before the baby is here

We've told quite a few people our front runner and the only people that aren't convinced are my parents. My dad thinks the baby should be named after him but I can't bring myself to call a baby Dave 😂😂😂 and my mum keeps suggesting other names

I think it will stick though they aren't putting me off

Rascalia86 · 23/03/2021 09:28

I've told my parents what her middle name will be, but not her first name. I think she'd try and change my mind and I refuse to let her do that. My younger sister knows, and she likes it, and I've told one person at work just as a sound out, and she said it's lovely, so I'm happy. :)

May2021Mummy · 27/03/2021 10:35

Has everyone worked out their birth plan I'm really starting to feel like I have no clue what I want? The closer it gets the more birth terrifies me . Everyone around me who has had babies lately have all seemed to sail through it with gas and air in quick time. I'm more concerned that the more drugs I have the longer I'll have to stay in hospital to recover it's my first baby so have no clue on the different pain relief available and it's been difficult with no antenatal classes although I am signed up to an online one but it's not for a few weeks yet.

I hope you are all doing well? 🙂

Rascalia86 · 27/03/2021 11:50

My first baby too, I've not got a proper birth plan but I've made sure my other half knows how I'd like it to be. I'd like to avoid an epidural if possible because I'm a wuss with needles. 😅 but other then that I'm gonna go with the flow.

Verity89 · 02/04/2021 08:23

Hi Lovely Ladies. I'm new to the group. I'm due in just over 6 weeks. Feeling very unprepared atm as living at my folks whilst building work is being done at my house... We should be in before baby but will be confined to just 2 rooms which isn't ideal but could be worse! It Does mean getting prepared is difficult plus i work long hours and will do until 38 weeks. Lets hope baby isnt on the earlier side of my due date!
Anyways, can anyone recommend a good hypno birthing app? I want something i can just tap into before bed and fit into my busy days as they are currently. I did use gentlebirth but now it wants to charge me. Perhaps thats the only option but thought I'd ask?!
Also feeling a but lost where to start with my birth plan. Midwife just said "go research it and tell me at 36 weeks"... Helpful when you're already overwhelmed with stuff to do. Perhaps someone can recommend a good youtube antenatal video i can watch that goes through the various options?
Im Definitely feeling like Covid has made the whole maternity support fragmented where I live, does anyone else feel like that?
Anyways apologies if im going over old ground and asking questions that have already been covered.
Hope you're all feeling well and calm!
V x

Hello! 5 weeks to go, I can't quite believe our little baby will be here some time in the next 2-7 weeks! 😱

Anyone else starting to get weirdly obsessed with the hospital bag? It doesn't help with the covid restrictions limiting people coming into hospital with things you've forgotten, or with the shops being shut and not able to just go and buy all the bits I need but I feel like I'm thinking about it for about 70% of my day at the moment. A good distraction from thinking about labour I suppose!

AyyX · 02/04/2021 10:10

Hey guysss
I’ve got just over 5 weeks to go too, I’ve put a checklist on my phone for my hospital bag but haven’t actually started packing or buying yet. I’m waiting for the shops to open so I can go in and have a look at some things. I’ve ordered some baby clothes online and bought some when going to the supermarkets but still want to get a few more bits when the retail shops open! But I am a bit worried it’s going to be very busy once they’re open Blush
Btw what kind of bag is everyone using for their hospital bag? 2 bags or just 1? Last time I used my big gym bag, I’m thinking to do that again or bring a small 4 wheeled suitcase.. hmm..

Oh and I had my 34 week midwife appt on Tuesday and we went through birth plan etc.
I told her I wanted a water birth (said that the first pregnancy too but didn’t get one).
Also I was measuring 36cm so he’s on the bigger side but she said it’s ok he’s not too big? They also think he could be breech because I told them my left rib hurts a lot but there’s no movement there like kicking so they think his head is there..
Sorry rambling on now 😂

Rascalia86 · 02/04/2021 15:42

I have a little 4 wheel suitcase that I'm going to use, and a separate bag for things like my notes, purse, phone etc. It's only online of the small cabin size cases but it's got a compartment in both sides, one for me, and one for baby. I've picked most of what I'm taking, just need some more bits for myself. I'm hoping to nip to primark once the shops are open again, and thankfully the one near me opens at 8am, so I can be in and out super fast. 😊

CLeighannHxo · 02/04/2021 16:24

I have also done my list for my hospital Bag, I am going to use a big holdall for my stuff and the changing bag I've got for the baby stuff. I really wanted to get everything bought as soon as but that would mean from tesco or other supermarkets so I've decided that with primark opening in the next couple of weeks I might aswell wait and go there... I'm so excited to get in there!! 😁😁

Anyone else feeling the bruise like pain in the private area or is it just me? 😩

Gixxer · 05/04/2021 12:57

Hi everyone, due 11th of May here. My sickness went at 34 weeks, can’t believe next month my son Ted will be here :)
