Hi everyone,

I hope that you’re all well. Am back at work now and glad to be back into the swing of things. Work has been really supportive, but I’ve definitely changed physically and had a couple of comments from people in my department.

Hope you’re all ok!

Phie04 · 25/08/2020 10:44

Thanks for the tag!

Thank you for the add! How is everyone? Iv had so much drama the last week, iv had so many distractions from overthinking my pregnancy symptoms. I fell down the stairs and broke my wrist, my son had an asthma attack and was in hospital ( he is ok ) So time has been ticking away for me , i just realised im 10+1 weeks now was still thinking about the 8 week mark.

MrsAndMrs · 25/08/2020 11:10

Thanks for the add! Love reading up on how everyone is getting on 🧡

loobyloo1234 · 25/08/2020 11:47

Can't believe we have filled 4 threads now 😮. You guys help keep me sane. Following on from the last topic of strep B. Do you just request to get tested? My best friend had it and she was put on IV antibiotics as soon as she arrived in Labour at hospital. X

chloxhunt · 25/08/2020 11:57

Found it 😂

krj2608 · 25/08/2020 12:12

@MrsAndMrs following on from previous thread-emotionally! Yes!

Cried at paw patrol and greatest showman- the happy bits 😂

MrsAndMrs · 25/08/2020 12:32

@Babafarmer that's what happened with my first one, I had IV antibiotics every 4 hours right through and when I told my midwife this time, she just said she would treat me as if i have it again this time. There was no mention of being tested. I see my consultant on 7th September so I'll ask again then.

@krj2608 I can't cope with all these emotions! I cried at the Age UK advert and the smallest thing sets me off right now! Nightmare! 🤣

DSP21 · 25/08/2020 12:48

Thanks for the tag!

Has anyone had/have a rash that might resemble hives? I keep getting raised itchy red bumps in random areas that are a little sore to touch. I spoke to the gp who thinks its hives and nothing to worry about

Babafarmer · 25/08/2020 13:04

@MrsAndMrs when did you request the test first time round. Am I right in thinking it isn't offered routinely x

EmzG20 · 25/08/2020 13:04

Marking my place on the thread. How's everyone doing

BabyG21 · 25/08/2020 13:08

Double digits tomorrow at 10 weeks woo. Still waiting for scan details to come through. Can’t remember if there are many scans this week but have liked seeing all the pics so far.

I haven’t told my work yet @Clara9 - think I might wait till after the scan. There’s only 10 of us in the office out of about 120 so hoping my little tummy goes unnoticed

MrsAndMrs · 25/08/2020 13:25

@Babafarmer I wasn't even made aware i had it until I was in labour!!

Oh I see. I know my friend had done research into it. Requested the test and ended up positive x

aureliacecilia · 25/08/2020 13:33

I was on the wrong thread but I've found you now.

Thank you for the tag.

9+5 today with DC#2. DS is 4 (we obviously weren't in a hurry for our second - he's only been sleeping through the night since April). No early scans so dating based on my LMP. My scan is in 3 weeks' time and I'm excited & nervous.

Have heard some horrible things about Group B Strep. One of the mums from school had a daughter who needed to be resuscitated when she was born because of it. She took ages to take her first breath and ended up with sepsis. It is an absolute miracle she wasn't permanently harmed by the whole experience - she could very easily have died.

Sam202020 · 25/08/2020 13:34

Haven't posted in a while but hope everyone is doing ok and it is lovely seeing scans coming through Smile. I'm 10+2 now and had a scan last week and saw little bubba dancing around. I had no idea they were so active when they are so tiny!

I have tested positive for B strep previously when looking for something else but this is my first pregnancy. My midwife has said that I will get tested at 36 weeks but reading into it I think I will get a private test as I think I read the NHS one misses it 50% of the time Shock. Sends my anxiety through the roof!!

ValidUser · 25/08/2020 13:35

Thanks for the new thread! Just checking in.

Another thread! We are a chatty bunch. This thread. Onto yes to be so reassuring to me as nearly every post could have been one of my thoughts at some point- so thank you all Smile

I'm crampy and cranky today. Struggled to sleep last night due to my DH's snoring so went into the spare room- finally drifted off and half an hour later he woke up worried about me and came to check on me- In then waking me up. He then fell asleep cuddling me AND STARTED SNORING AGAIN.

So I ended up back in our bed trying to get back to sleep again- couldn't write it! I remember that I am lucky and that his concern and caring nature is wonderful and luckily he doesn't always snore.

I'm still off work with nausea, vomiting and light headed was :( so at least today like most days is full of not very much.

Scan next week and I'll be exactly 13 weeks so starting to let myself get excited! Hope you are all ok today xx
