I would kill for a Brie and bacon sandwich with chilli jam but we can't eat Brie so it'll have to wait until after the bambino is here Grin

holb54 · 26/08/2020 12:37

@MrsAndMrs same scan day here too! 🥳 best of luck 💫 you're lucky you can have someone with you, over here we still have to go alone (Ireland) but we did go for two private scans so he wouldn't feel left out 😂

Phie04 · 26/08/2020 12:42

Decided to treat myself today as were having some us time and making use of eat out to help out! So nice to have a drink.. but not have a drink at the same time 😂 glad my sickness is easing im getting a little sick of drinking coke and lemonade everytime we go out!

Hope you ladies are treating yourselves too after putting up with all these anxieties and stress!

@Taylortyler I feel you spiritually on this. All I want its a feta salad 😭😭😭

holb54 · 26/08/2020 12:43

@Taylortyler It's so true that you always want what you can't have, I'm the same but only it's camembert for me 😂

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 26/08/2020 12:46

@Phie04 good for you! So glad you enjoyed it 😄

@Taylortyler yes I hadn't even thought of brie bacon and chilli jam but now I want that too 😋

@holb54 that is rubbish you can't have partners in yet but fantastic you have been able to have private scans!

Phie04 · 26/08/2020 12:47

@ChubbyMumFromSkye very much so. Very refreshing! May have to stock up for when I go away next month. It's also great as it gives you the placebo 😂

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 26/08/2020 12:49

@Phie04 are you going somewhere nice?

Phie04 · 26/08/2020 12:51

@ChubbyMumFromSkye just to devon for 6 days! We were meant to go in May but they gave us the option to rebook for free due to covid! Will be chilly but I do love autumn 🍂

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 26/08/2020 12:54

@Phie04 lovely! It will be so nice to just get away for a break 🌊
We have a holiday booked in October to Tenerife but have no idea what to do about it 😭 we haven't booked flights so at least we won't lose that money if we don't go.

Phie04 · 26/08/2020 12:58

@ChubbyMumFromSkye yeah we were meant to be going to Lanzarote in July! Luckily they cancelled it and we got a refund, but my parents are meant to be going next week and of course they havent cancelled it, and cant take the time off to quarantine so they have missed out on a holiday and all that money! I would just wait until last minute. The flights have gotten pretty cheap too!

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 26/08/2020 13:01

@Phie04 oh no what a shame for them to lose out - it is gutting!
Yes we are just waiting and seeing, but thinking we probably won't go.
The flights are SO cheap compared to normal, 2 returns for us would be less than 1 person's return cost normally! 😲

ChilternsHan · 26/08/2020 13:14

I want to go abroad so badly, but my midwife says my trust are still advising no abroad travel at all for pregnant women Sad

Feta is on the NHS list of fine to eat cheese, as is thoroughly cooked brie and camembert (baked camembert mmmm). Although neither are quite the same without a glass of red on the side Wine

We're going to go with a surprise in terms of finding out the sex. I don't think my MIL will understand, but I like the point about it keeping me going if I go overdue!

holb54 · 26/08/2020 13:17

@ChubbyMumFromSkye it's so hard to know what to do, we're thinking of going over to Italy for a long weekend it's just so tempting with the cheap flights but not too sure either.. we'll have to see nearer the time

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 26/08/2020 13:24

@ChilternsHan me too, we would usually have been at least once this year already as my sister lives in Spain. So hard not seeing her.
Yay about the cheese, so toasties are grand!

I was so down about being overdue by so much - probably more because 2 of the ladies who were due after me had their babies at least 2 weeks before my due date!
It really did keep me going not knowing what was coming, it doesn't really matter what your MIL wants, it's your baby 😊

@holb54 it is so hard to know what to do and it is difficult to keep seeing these cheap as chips flights and ignoring them knowing that one day soon they will be extortionate again!

Phie04 · 26/08/2020 13:43

@ChubbyMumFromSkye I know! I was having a little browse on skyscanner and the return flights were £70 without baggage. Bargain if you ask me

holb54 · 26/08/2020 13:55

@ChilternsHan don't worry about your MIL, it's your baby and your choice! I've a very opinionated SIL but I'll be making sure to repeat that mantra 😉

aureliacecilia · 26/08/2020 14:34

You are very chatty today! I haven't been able to keep up very well. Has anyone else seen the list of last year's most popular baby names has been published? I'm going to have a look at the full Excel spreadsheets when I get a chance: www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/birthsdeathsandmarriages/livebirths/bulletins/babynamesenglandandwales/2019#baby-names-data

c24680 · 26/08/2020 14:42

I think we're going to have a surprise this time as well. I'm probably going to have an elective c-section due to have an emergency one last time, I was over due by 14 days and DD still didn't fancy coming out ha!

Anyway since we'll be told when we'll be having the baby we thought it would be nice to have a surprise and hubby can tell me :)

Marshmellowskies · 26/08/2020 14:44

Hows everyone doing today? I'm 9+5 and for now symptoms have subsided. Had a wisdom tooth removed yesterday so feeling very sorry for myself😩 so feet up watching the notebook with a bowl of soup

holb54 · 26/08/2020 15:06

@aureliacecilia thanks for sending that into the group, can't wait to have a look through it later!

@Marshmellowskies oh God poor you, I've the dentist next Tuesday and I'm dreading it 😬 enjoy your rest, you deserve it!

aureliacecilia · 26/08/2020 15:24

No problem @holb54. I'm on the hunt for some boys' names. I find girls' names pretty easy but boys' names impossible. I am also convinced I'm having a second son so that's what my focus is on. I can't seem to imagine having a daughter at all, even though that would be lovely and we would be very happy about that. DH and I are both from same sex sibling groups so just imagine our family will look the same - boys boys boys in our case. Can't believe I'll be ten weeks tomorrow. Really hoping and praying all is progressing well. Symptoms are basically non-existent but I have developed a massive love of beige and bland food & the acne is still there.

Marshmellowskies · 26/08/2020 15:25

Thanks @holb54 been waiting over a year to have it removed so glad it's over and done with. Haven't heard anything about my exemption form so was prepared to pay for my treatment but luckily I didnt have to. I was a nervous wreck but wasn't too bad

holb54 · 26/08/2020 15:55

@aureliacecilia I know what you mean, the girls names seem to come easily but I get stuck on the boys names! It's just so hard to pick and then fiance is half Italian and baby will have a very Italian surname so not sure if I'll then lean towards an Italian first name which just opens up more name possibilites 🥴 do you think you'll find out the gender or are you leaving it a suprises? The acne is such a pain too! That's supposed to mean a girl but I'm convinced it's a boy but I'd love either

Flodo · 26/08/2020 16:08

Hi all, had my 12 week scan last week but unfortunately baby stopped growing at 11 weeks. Really in shock at how everything was fine at private scan the week before but have been told it was one of those things.

I wasn't showing any signs of miscarriage so had 2 doses of the medication and delivered baby at home on Sunday. We have ordered a special rose to bury baby with. I don't want to drag anyone down on this thread....I hope you have better news at the scans coming up! My top tip is make sure someone is in the car park they can call in if it is bad news. So grateful they let DP in to discuss the options as I was a zombie!
