@Taylortyler glad you made up! Maybe tonight he'll bring home chicken and bacon pie?
I am dying for a good steak but know it's only because I am not allowed it - I'm certain it would make me sick too, as does everything else.
How far along are you? Is it your first?
I am very emotional, in that I cry at the smallest thing! 😭 x

holb54 · 26/08/2020 11:46

@Taylortyler I really thought I was going to be one of those relaxed chill types too and so far I've been the exact opposite! Instead I've been hormonal irritable and with a chin covered in acne 😂 when does the glowing start?? 😂

LottieDot · 26/08/2020 11:47

@holb54 Thank you! I'm an anxious person generally, and it took 2 years to conceive this little one and the infertility process made my anxiety sooo much worse! I kinda assumed once I got pregnant it would fade away a bit - how naive haha. I just feel like I should be feeling physically worse than what I am, I know I should just be grateful I feel ok!

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 26/08/2020 11:48

@holb54 I will and you too! It's nice to be on a thread with mums all due around the same time, I'm so glad I stumbled across it. 🌟
That is so lovely it is a first for both of you - so exciting! Are you going to find out the sex at 20 wks?

Taylortyler · 26/08/2020 11:50

@ChubbyMumFromSkye yup this is my first I'm 10+3 but expecting it to potentially change when I have my dating scan on 10th sept.
@holb54 I'm going to keep hoping that the glow will start but I think I'll just be a mess all the way through

Good lord - how am I (are we) going to raise a child?!

IWantAPetUnicorn · 26/08/2020 11:54

Feeling worried today because my symptoms seem to have gone! Boobs not sore, nausea gone! I’m 9+4.

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 26/08/2020 11:57

So nice @Taylortyler ! What about you re: finding out the sex?

@holb54 I think I felt like I was "glowing" around 8 months - for like a week! 😂

My DH wants to find out but I have told him we aren't - I was 10 days overdue last time and one of the only things keeping me going was the excitement of finding out if it was a boy or a girl I had been carrying all this time. I think had I known I would have been cursing him and calling him every name under the sun 😂

All the people we know who are pregnant have found out what they are having and can't understand us (me) not wanting to know.

holb54 · 26/08/2020 11:57

@LottieDot I know exactly what you mean, past few days I've felt really good but that just got my anxiety up thinking but why do I?? It's so hard when you're the type to over think everything! That's hard too, makes you feel so guilty then for not being happy all the time but we're just worriers who love our babies and we need to kind to ourselves 💫

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 26/08/2020 11:59

@IWantAPetUnicorn
Try not to worry - easier said than done, I know. I have 24/7 nausea and wish it would go but would probably worry too if I felt absolutely fine!
Are you able to get a private scan to put your mind at ease? Smile

holb54 · 26/08/2020 12:00

@ChubbyMumFromSkye we are, I'm not the patient type and I'm a planner so I want to know 😂
@Taylortyler fingers crossed for some glowing for all of us soon! I'll even take a day of it 😂

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 26/08/2020 12:01

@holb54 DH is exactly the same, it's killing him that I won't let him find out Confused😂

MrsAndMrs · 26/08/2020 12:01

@Taylortyler @ChubbyMumFromSkye hahaha I completely feel this! I would love to be a content and glowing pregnant woman but I'm not at all....I'm irrational, weepy and my life revolves around what I can stomach, which changes on a day to day basis.....
My poor wife never knows which lady she's coming home to...😂 i can only hope the 2nd trimester is easier! 🤞🏼

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 26/08/2020 12:03

@MrsAndMrs I too am hoping for an easier second trimester! How far along are you? I am approx 11+2, have my dating scan on 7th Sept. X

LottieDot · 26/08/2020 12:05

@holb54 You're right I feel guilty about not enjoying the pregnancy! It'll be worth it though, thanks for calming me down!

@IWantAPetUnicorn I'm 9+2 and same here, boobs feel fine and nausea is barely there. I'm feeling very anxious about it too. I have a scan on Saturday so praying everything is okay. I've heard around 10 weeks sometimes people feel better due to the placenta taking over so maybe we're lucky and its just happening earlier? I hope so anyway.

Taylortyler · 26/08/2020 12:06

@ChubbyMumFromSkye I have to find out- I'm a complete control freak and not knowing is already killing me. Having said that I'm certain it's a girl so if they say it's a boy I will be shocked!
I have always thought I'd have girls and she will look like a mini version of myself or partner and I will feel like I'm arguing with myself because she'll have the strong will and bad temper that the pair of us have!! Not that I'm getting far too far ahead of myself at 10 weeks Confused

BabyG21 · 26/08/2020 12:07

@IWantAPetUnicorn try not to worry. I think this was mentioned a couple times on the last post and it seems as we all approach second trimester that symptoms have eased/changed. I was exactly the same as you at about 9 weeks noticed a change in symptoms and did the usual stress.
I think you automatically think that there’s something wrong but there was someone (can’t remember who, sorry!) who said they had all the symptoms but had bad news at the scan so I think it’s just everyone’s body is different - or at least that is what I am telling myself too.

holb54 · 26/08/2020 12:07

@ChubbyMumFromSkye it's funny though because anyone I know who is either pregnant or has just given birth picked to not find out the gender so you're definitely not alone!

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 26/08/2020 12:10

@Taylortyler that's so funny! I am feeling like this one is another boy - don't know if that is just wishful thinking.
I'm not sure I have the patience to bring up a girl who would probably be a drama queen as I am laid back and just like an easy life 😅😂
I'm so lucky my little boy is just like me 😂 I will probably not get my way this time around!

Whatever we have he or she will obviously be loved, even if it's a girl 💞🤪😂

MrsAndMrs · 26/08/2020 12:12

@ChubbyMumFromSkye I'm 10+5 now, I have a private scan booked for Friday cause we weren't sure partners were getting into the hospital for 12 week but turns out we can now! So our 12 week scan is same day as yours, 7th September! I see a few of us are same day!

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 26/08/2020 12:13

@holb54 that's so interesting, I can't even think of anyone who has decided not to find out - wonder if it changes area by or by age or anything 🤔

Taylortyler · 26/08/2020 12:16

@ChubbyMumFromSkye I have a friend from school who is having a 'surprise' but the other 4 (5 including me) preggos are finding out/have found out

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 26/08/2020 12:17

@MrsAndMrs that's fab - so glad you have a scan booked to put your mind at ease, aww 7th Sept is indeed an exciting day for a few of us! let us know how you get on on Friday, not too long to wait now.

Yes we are allowed partners at 12 weeks and hopefully by the time 20 weeks comes we'll be allowed partners then too - I think we will providing things stay as they are or improve 😃

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 26/08/2020 12:18

@Taylortyler I think most people like to be organised and I can understand the control element of not knowing but I do look forward to the surprise when I give birth 🥰

Sussexbysea · 26/08/2020 12:27

I’m having cravings for chicken burgers and cheese and onion pasties. Anything that ain’t a dinner is all I want to eat. I think the midwife would be telling me off if I told her next week 🙈

ChubbyMumFromSkye · 26/08/2020 12:31

@Sussexbysea as long as you can eat it and keep it down I think that's all that matters!
We are having Chinese tonight (we don't normally just eat rubbish! 🤦🏻‍♀️😂) and the thought of it is already making me heave but I am hoping against hope I can enjoy it and keep it down!
I'm living off müller corner yoghurts, ice lollies and ham and mushroom pizza.
