It's getting close to everyone's scans now! How exciting 😆. Think I might need to start looking for a winter coat too, mine isn't going to last much longer..

This thread is nearing the 1000 comment limit. Will we be starting a new one soon? x

Tiff94 · 11/10/2020 14:38

@BuckleUp the other April thread still has about 200+comment left if you want to finish that one up too I think so are already on it.

Lollol86 · 11/10/2020 16:24

@cheekypanda wow my letter says they charge £12.50 for a photo 🤦🏼‍♀️
My scans Tuesday and I'm feeling so nervous.

Parkandride · 11/10/2020 16:33

Wow @lollol86 thats more than the private clinics! Mines a fiver too just been out to get change so I'm ready. I feel you on the nerves, it's only now I'm the night before that I've calmed down, just thinking my worry won't change anything

Lollol86 · 11/10/2020 16:53

@Parkandride I feel like my hospital is ripping me off 😂. Best of luck for your scan. Keep us updated. I had a mc in June so super nervous. Fingers crossed this baba is strong and has stuck xx

Lynz2020 · 11/10/2020 17:27

@Parkandride We paid £4 for 1 photo and got 2 for free because of corona.

GreySkyClouds · 12/10/2020 08:26

Three free 12w scan photos (unless we accidentally walked out without paying!)

Parkandride · 12/10/2020 12:28

I did end up with 3 for free as partners weren't allowed in!

All went well, I'm going to try be less of a nervous wreck now. Little bean was looking chunky and behaved well for measurement. Nuchal was fine so we decided against the combined test as the embryo we transfer was already screened so should have the correct chromosomes unless something has gone very wrong! Means we don't need to wait for any results so we can tell more people now.

Saw the consultant too as it's an ivf pregnancy so I'll be staying under him for now even though there's no obvious risk factors.

All so exciting and such a relief, I'm going to go join the fb group now!

LeopardLover · 12/10/2020 13:50

@Parkandride Awww, you must be so relieved! ❤️ Also, yay for free scan photos and now you can tell more people. Exciting!

Lollol86 · 12/10/2020 15:02

@Parkandride ahhh what a relief. Congratulations xx

LeopardLover · 12/10/2020 19:52

How is everyone? I'm feeling a but stupid, O carried some 20kg bags of grout today and straight after felt twinges! They haven't gone away - after a bit of a Google it seems lifting heavy is just a risk to me, not baby but I really wasn't thinking 🙈

BuckleUp · 13/10/2020 07:42

@LeopardLover Aww, sorry you're sore. I think baby will be fine, but you're more prone to injury because all your muscles are softer thanks to the relaxin hormone. I've done a few things where I've immediately felt something pull and had to stop. Use it as an excuse to get DH to carry the heavy stuff 😉 x

LeopardLover · 13/10/2020 08:44

@BuckleUp Feeling a bit better today, thank you. 🥰 Just a reminder I can't carry on as normal. He was at work and I took the delivery in. I'll leave it outside next time. 😅 How are you feeling? X

BuckleUp · 13/10/2020 10:17

@LeopardLover Good idea! I shifted the wood burner the other day and regretted that decision 😂. I'm ok, feeling emotional today. I just can't concentrate at work and I feel like I'm letting everyone down. I've been cranky with DH and I keep thinking I'm starting to feel better when I get another day of full on nausea after next to no sleep.. Pregnancy isn't what I thought it was! You feeling more like yourself yet? x

gretagreengrapes · 13/10/2020 10:49

Hi ladies, I am due mid April too. I thought it would be the end of April but went for a dating scan last week and the pregnancy is further along than first thought. It's my first pregnancy. 😊

Hathats · 13/10/2020 11:51

Hi Tiffany, please could yoh add me to the Facebook group. Many thanks

Tiff94 · 13/10/2020 11:56

@Hathats added you in.

@gretagreengrapes welcome and congratulations this is my first pregnancy to. Such a exciting nerve racking time isn't it.

LeopardLover · 13/10/2020 13:33

@BuckleUp Ah, it's so hard to get used to, isn't it! I think once we have big bumps we'll be less likely to forget.

Oh sorry to hear that. Do people at work know yet? I think you mentioned you had to tell your manager, but do others? I can relate a bit, I think the anxiety over the scan is making me stress over my workload more, so I'm generally more overwhelmed/negative than usual. I'm sure DH understands (I hope you moan to him so he knows) - you're growing a human!! Feeling crap is bound to impact how you interact, I'm always cranky after a bad night's sleep and nausea is just the worst. I really hope it disappears for you soon! I remember my SIL telling me a few years back that other than a baby, there's nothing good about this experience and I kind of understand that now haha. Unfortunately, I still have low energy and random pains and aches haha. I'm also a back sleeper so struggling to sleep on either side. But counting down until Thursday...

Sastuk · 13/10/2020 16:42

Hi ladies @Tiff94 I’ve asked to join the FB group so hopefully catch people on there my friend added me to a geriatric mums one too I’m only 38 lol makes me laugh!!!

Anyone struggling with their sense of smell? I feel like mine has gone up by 1000% since I found out I was pregnant have to wear my face mask in the house dowsed in perfume otherwise I start gagging! I suppose it means I haven’t got Covid but it’s really annoying! Fortunately seem to be less nauseous now except for if I get a whiff of something too strong. Can’t wait for my dating scan next week and a better image of my little one, I got free photos last time but will prepare with some cash just incase!

gretagreengrapes · 13/10/2020 16:52

@Sastuk yes! I cant open the fridge or take clean laundry out the washer because it just makes me wretch. As does walking round the supermarket.
My scan pictures were free because the machine was off due to Covid and then not wanting anyone touching it. Same for the parking machines.

Tiff94 · 13/10/2020 17:02

@Sastuk I've added you into the Facebook group welcome so happy to have you join us.

Ladies this thread is about to hit its limits so pop on this one otherwise there lots of active threads running on the Facebook page to. Xx

Semele5069 · 13/10/2020 17:08

Hi @Tiff94

I tried to join the Facebook group a few days ago but don't think I'm in! Could you share the link again please?

Thank you

BuckleUp · 13/10/2020 17:16

@LeopardLover You're right, I'm sure the gigantic bump will remind us to take it easy later on. I'm barely showing at the moment so it's easy to forget on a good day! We've told everyone now so work is aware. I just feel guilty because I changed role just before Covid, and haven't really had much chance to do my job despite being there almost 10 months, and now I'm preggers 🤷🏼‍♀️. Don't stress over your scan - is it this Thursday or next Thursday?! So exciting! Have you investigated pregnancy pillows yet? I haven't made my mind up..

Think this is my last message on this thread. I'll talk to you all in the Facebook group soon hopefully, and I'll also keep an eye on the other Mumsnet April thread until you all move over 😊. Thinking of all of you with scans to come in the next couple of weeks! x
