Good luck Panda and Mimi. The day is finally here, wishing you beautiful cooperative babies!

1 week to go for me, checking every day to see if they're allowing partners yet but no news yet. I live in a lockdown area and hospitals there allow it, but mine is over the border and only allowing 20 weeks at the min.

LuckyFlash · 05/10/2020 11:25

Good luck today for those with scans!! Keep us posted.

Has anyone started buying maternity wear? I’ve been mostly wearing floaty dresses over the last couple of weeks as the two pairs of jeans I have that still fit start to dig in by the end of the day. Now it’s got colder I’ve been wearing tights with dresses and they’re starting to dig in too. I feel like I’ve only got a handful of outfits that look nice and are comfortable. I’m really tempted to buy some maternity jeans and tights but would that be stupid at 13 weeks? I’m worried they will either be huge or if they fit they won’t last me long.
To be honest I think my ‘bump’ is still mostly bloating as it goes up and down in size.

Lollol86 · 05/10/2020 12:01

@LuckyFlash I have my 12 week scan next week and as soon as I've had it and I know all is ok, I'm going to order some maternity bits. This is my 5th pregnancy but 3rd baby and I feel like I'm starting to show, although it's mostly bloat. I don't see the point in buying some trousers to fit me in between so may aswell get maternity xx

LeopardLover · 05/10/2020 12:13

@Parkandride Hopefully things will change in time for next Monday!

@LuckyFlash I'm struggling too now it's getting colder. I've bought one pair of jeans in a size up, then ordered another 2 sizes up but they are still very skinny. I'm tempted to buy some maternity dungarees from Seraphine but might wait another month... If I can! I'm going back to the office next month so need to work something out 🙈

Parkandride · 05/10/2020 13:22

I'll be buying some maternity bits after my scan all being well, jeans have been off limits for ages now! Living in leggings and tights. I weighed myself today and I've lost 2lbs, not sure how! So I think it's all just bloat

LeopardLover · 05/10/2020 13:31

Today is my first day of being physically sick. Feels pretty strange to have this develop at 11+4 but it's making my manic Monday even trickier (especially considering I'm trying to hide things from my MIL who we're living with!). Has anyone else noticed feeling worse in week 11? I do feel like I've been struggling for the past 4 days with nausea, gastritis, and general discomfort!

GreySkyClouds · 05/10/2020 13:39

I’m loosing faith in my hospital.

Just called about the medical exemption certificate (following everyone’s posts) and was told it varies by hospital and I’m not entitled to it until 25 weeks.

Was also told that despite being told during my booking appointment (telephone) that I’ll be consultant led, that the notes say community midwife team.

On the plus side went for a private scan and NIPT. All is well! Am so relieved and less bothered than my first nhs scan is basically at 13 weeks.

Lynz2020 · 05/10/2020 13:41

@LeopardLover I've had bad nausea for the last 4 weeks, can just about brush my teeth but gag every time to the point I'm just sick a small amount. I'm 12 weeks today and have my scan on Wednesday. Today I've started getting a bit of acid reflux that I wasn't getting before so not sure if it's new or just a random day today.

GreySkyClouds · 05/10/2020 13:44

I’ve ordered some maternity leggings as I feel really bloated and I’m sat down for most of the day. Also have a few bralettes because I’ve gone up 3/4 cup sizes.

Have loads of loose jumpers and tunic style tops so that’s my uniform for now.

LeopardLover · 05/10/2020 13:57

@Lynz2020 I've started to gag when brushing my teeth too but no sickness thankfully - that doesn't sound fun! How interesting, I just assumed I had lucked out on the lack of symptoms but I'm really feeling it today. Looking forward to telling everyone so I can explain why I'm less chipper than usual (and have a good moan) 😅x

Lollol86 · 05/10/2020 14:15

@LeopardLover I'm 11+2 today and the last couple of days I've felt so ill. I've been really lucky all the way through and only had mild nausea xx

LeopardLover · 05/10/2020 14:20

@Lollol86 This sounds just like me!! Really desperate to fast forward to my scan now - 10 days feels like an eternity 😅

Lollol86 · 05/10/2020 14:22

@LeopardLover hopefully our babies are just having a growth spurt. My scan is next Tuesday. Proper count down for us all now 😆😆

LeopardLover · 05/10/2020 14:33

@Lollol86 I hope so! Ready to see our little plums (although mine will be nearer to a lemon by 13 weeks 😅) x

cheekypanda · 05/10/2020 14:33

Good luck to everyone with scans coming up ! Mine is Thursday 😊🤞

Does anyone else feel so bloated sometimes they struggle to stand up straight?! Or just me...

Lynz2020 · 05/10/2020 14:36

@LeopardLover its horrible isn't it gagging every time with brushing teeth, I still get period cramps and I have a weird taste in my mouth still. What I need to stop doing is eating all the time, I'm trying to just have 3 meals a day but I'm constantly snacking. I know if i get weighed they'll tell me off lol. I need to get bk on the treadmill but I can't bring myself to do it when I'm constantly feeling sick. Hoping it doesn't last much longer and everything is good at my scan on Wednesday so I can finally start telling people Smile

Lollol86 · 05/10/2020 14:43

@Lynz2020 I need to stop eating everything in site too 😂 I've convinced myself food makes me fell less yucky. I so excited to tell people. We haven't told anyone as we had a mc in June so kept this one to ourselves xx

LeopardLover · 05/10/2020 14:44

@Lynz2020 I'm still getting the odd cramps too! And I can relate re snacking - I've gained 8lbs 😅 I've always snacked but been super active. Like you I can't being myself to exercise - I felt full of energy for one day but it didn't last. Wednesday is sooo close!

@cheekypanda Eeeek! How exciting. I can stand but it's an uncomfortable bloat by the end of the day - almost feels firm!

Lynz2020 · 05/10/2020 14:57

@Lollol86 I keep thinking that too lol, sometimes I can literally only eat sweets which isn't great. We had a mmc in April and didn't tell anyone and kept this quiet too so will be a relief to finally tell people.

@LeopardLover didn't think the cramps would still be happening but I guess it's a good sign? I don't dare weigh myself haha, I've tried to go on walks etc but I used to do cardio classes multiple times a week and now I can't bring myself to do anything right now, hopefully it will change so I can keep my weight from ballooning, I've also been falling asleep at like 9pm lol. I know it's finally here, though I was going to wait until next Wednesday to tell my mam a it's her bday and wanted to put the scan in her card.

SkyeBarn · 05/10/2020 15:22

I had brown discharge for 2 weeks at around 7-9 weeks pregnant and then got told I had a hematoma. I'm now almost 12 and I've started to have some blood on my knickers this morning. My scan is Friday so don't know whether to wait until then but my mind is going mad.

AprilShowers2021 · 05/10/2020 16:00

@SkyeBarn I wouldn't wait. I would give them a quick call, just to see what they advise. It's best to get checked over earlier if possible. It will also put your mind at rest. X

83Mimi · 05/10/2020 17:33

Had the scan today. Was so so anxious but everyone there was so nice and put me at ease. Baby looked well and measurements were spot on. They said the neck/nuchal measurements were really good but I won’t be telling anyone the news until blood results are back. Am 37 so aware risk of Down’s syndrome is higher.

I really took the full bladder guidance to heart! The scanner said she had never seen such a big bladder and poor baby was all squished up in a tiny little ball! I had to go to the loo twice before baby had room enough to stretch out and she could take proper measurements Grin

Am in 2 minds whether to still get a private harmony scan. Apparently they are much more accurate and I’m still quite anxious about Down’s syndrome. Have others thought about the extra scan or should I just wait and see how the tests come back?

Wishing everyone else positive scans x

cheekypanda · 05/10/2020 17:58

@83Mimi congrats 😊 did they say how long the blood results would take to come back? I can understand your anxiety around it, it's always the unknown that makes us worry. I would just want to know also!

I did it (36) and it was absolutely worth it to put my mind at rest. You’ve had the nhs one, so you might as well wait for those results now and then decide whether you want more reassurance.
83Mimi · 05/10/2020 18:09

@cheekypanda they said a week if ‘bad news’ and two weeks if ‘good news’. No idea why they don’t just give you the results once they have them either way...I might try calling them Monday next week just to see if they’ll tell me the results. Would love to start telling people the good news but not until we are sure all is well/viable
