Hey everyone @BuckleUp sorry about your job... I also go out on site a lot with my job mainly to building sites. I have nooo idea what my work would say about that but it would screw them over if I couldn't go, however now I'm wondering what u should do... Maybe I should tell hr.
I have also kept testing to see line progression so happy to see its getting darker as I'm a worrier. Will do a digital eend of this week to see if it's gone from 2 - 3 to 3+ as I should be 5 weeks by then. Any advice for when to tell parents? X

Chicken123 · 12/08/2020 07:24

Morning ladies, how’re we all this morning?

@SVC11 Unfortunately don’t have any advice for when to tell parents as we haven’t even told ours yet. We’ve decided to tell our families after we’ve had our early scan in a couple of week..plus, we will have something to show them too x

JoesM12 · 12/08/2020 07:25

Hey @SVC11
We’re planning to tell parents and some other close family when we’ve had our first scan. We booked a private one for when I’m 7 and a half weeks! 😊

thewallisblue · 12/08/2020 08:01

That's exciting @JoesM12!

Just curious, with an early scan is it better to wait til after 7 weeks for a better result does anyone know? Or would 6 weeks be the same?

JoesM12 · 12/08/2020 08:12

@thewallisblue the company we booked with said you can’t book for before you’re 7 weeks. I don’t know if it’s the same everywhere x

thewallisblue · 12/08/2020 08:31

Thanks @JoesM12. There's one by me that offers 6 weeks, but I'd be so annoyed if I went then and they told me to come back later because they can't see anything! Think I'll just wait til after 7 weeks anyway.

Sals27 · 12/08/2020 09:10

@thewallisblue where I'm going only allows you from 7w and when I confirmed my appointment yesterday the lady said it's because in most cases you see a heartbeat by 7w and as it's a reassurance scan, they don't offer them earlier because the heartbeat is the biggest reassurance and not seeing one earlier could cause unnecessary worry. So I'm guessing if it'd 6w whilst you might see a heartbeat, it also might be slightly too early.

Ive got 2.5 weeks for mine, I can't wait!

Chicken123 · 12/08/2020 13:22

I’m going to Window the the Womb and they do a Viability Scan from 6 weeks and then a reassurance scan from 8 weeks.
I’ve got mine in just over 2 weeks when I’ll be 7+3 so having the Viability Scan. It just depends what you want from the early scan x

LuckyFlash · 12/08/2020 17:36

Wondering whether to get an early scan myself - does anyone know if partners can go to window to the womb or if you have to go solo?

What’s everyone’s plans for trying to hide the fact they’re pregnant from people they don’t want to tell until after 12 weeks? I have events with friends planned over the next two weekends and am worried about people guessing. They are the same group of friends so I feel I could style it out for one day but by the second meet up they will start getting suspicious that I’m not drinking as I usually wouldn’t pass up a glass of wine. Also one is being hosted by my best friend who is having major fertility troubles and her dad died very recently so I’m super worried about her guessing and getting upset.

Chicken123 · 12/08/2020 17:41

@LuckyFlash
Yes, 1 person can go with you to the scan but no children.
It’s quite easy to hide for me as I don’t drink and I’ve put on a bit of weight anyway before falling pregnant so it’s not overly obvious.
After our early scan, we will be telling our family and closest friends (the only people we see), so won’t need to really hide it from anyone else as not seeing anyone else at the moment 😂
It’s hard though isn’t it.
I hate keeping secrets from people, I just want it to be out there already! X

FoxtrotOscarPoppet · 13/08/2020 08:02

Morning Ladies. How’s everyone feeling today?

Nausea still coming in waves throughout the day. Late morning and just before bed seem to be the worst times for it.

Nazz10 · 13/08/2020 08:19

@FoxtrotOscarPoppet morning, I'm new on this thread. Posted a few days ago.
I have had no nausea/sickness yet 🤞🏼I'm sure it will come soon though. I've just had sore boobs (which have got much worse this morning) and on/off metallic taste. How far gone are you?

FoxtrotOscarPoppet · 13/08/2020 09:45

Hi @Nazz10. I’m 5+4. What about you?

Nazz10 · 13/08/2020 10:05

@FoxtrotOscarPoppet I'm 6 weeks today! According to the nhs website anyway. Some of my apps are saying 6 weeks and some are saying 5+4 like you but the ones that are saying 6 weeks are the ones I used to track my cycles so I'm going with 6 weeks for now

Chicken123 · 13/08/2020 11:20

Morning ladies!
Woke up initially feeling a bit sick but seem to be okay.
Did 30 mins of light exercise (spinning class at the gym) and have had a few more twinges today which always make me nervous.
My boobs are still so big and swollen and painful x

Jigglypuff88 · 13/08/2020 11:46

Morning! I still don’t have any symptoms really! Boobs feel heavy and slightly tender but probably wouldn’t have noticed had I not known about the pregnancy. Hoping all is well 🤷🏻‍♀️ I tested last week for a second time and it was defo a bfp.

Sals27 · 13/08/2020 12:22

@Jigglypuff88 I still have no symptoms either. I'm 6 weeks at the weekend.

Just called my drs to book a midwife apt and their next apt is 24th Sept, 6 weeks today so I'll be nearly 12 weeks! Which they won't book because you have to be between 8-10 weeks for booking in, so that's really great 🤷🏻‍♀️

Rotagilla · 13/08/2020 14:58

I really can't stomach meat at the moment....gone right off it! I'm all up for it....until it arrives on my plate 😂

@Rotagilla Its awful isn't it?! I've got a phone appointment with the doc this afternoon to ask for some anti sickness tablets. I'm not actually sick, just nauseous, but it's not having a great impact on my MH so having an emergency solution in the house might make me less anxious. Hoping he approves a prescription for me 🤞🏻

JLM1008 · 13/08/2020 15:21

I’m having an early scan at 6w5d but it’s only because I’ve got it in my head that the baby is in the wrong place and I want to make sure it isn’t. I have another one booked for 8w5d too. I struggle with anxiety and not knowing what’s going on in there is triggering it something awful!
Got cravings for cream cheese and salmon at the minute - could eat it for every meal! 😂

Chicken123 · 13/08/2020 15:43

@JLM1008 I’m super nervous about what’s going on in there. Booked an early scan at 7+3 on the 29th so anxious but excited for that! I might booked another one too between then and my 12/13 week scan, not sure yet.

Got, not really pains, just like on off aches and twinges in my tummy which is making the tops of my thighs by my groin really achey feeling.
Everything is just making me so nervous all the time

SazCat · 13/08/2020 15:54

Hi everyone, I'd tentatively like to join! BFP yesterday on a first response and today on a clear blue.

Had been TTC no 2 for a year and had an early miscarriage at 5-6weeks mid July, so am a bit nervous. I was told I might be super fertile after and it seems so!

Not really sure how to work out the dates, I used ovulation test so maybe base it from that? It's 12 days since my peak smiley!

Chicken123 · 13/08/2020 15:58

@SazCat
Welcome!! And congratulations!
If you type into google “nhs due date” it’ll tell you how far along you are from the first day of your last period.

I’m in the same boat, after my miscarriage in June I’m just taking every day of this pregnancy one at a time.
I’m not religious at all, but I do believe a path has always been there for you to follow so what ever happens, happens for a reason (cliche I know!) xx

JLM1008 · 13/08/2020 16:05

Pleased it’s not just me @Chicken123 I’ve got my midwives mobile number and I text her constantly asking if things are normal! I just want to make sure little bean is in the right place and then I’ll relax a bit more. I’ve had aches and pains all over my pelvis as well as little bubble feelings low down in my stomach.

SazCat · 13/08/2020 17:36

Thanks @Chicken123 I guess I just use the bleeding from the early MC as a period, it was 2.5 weeks before I ovulate so prob about right. EDD around 24th April then! DD is 4 early April so a busy month (fingers crossed) x
