@DressingGown87 @SamK93 thank you for being so kind. It's absolutely hormones. I swam like a beast this morning and feel so much calmer for it.

@SamK93 that's pretty crappy - could you call and explain, try to move your appointment forward?

roarfeckingroarr · 09/08/2020 17:28

I wrote my birth plan this afternoon 😁

FirstSurprise001 · 10/08/2020 08:41

Has the weirdest pain last night and not sure if it’s something to be concerned about.

Laying on my left side to go to sleep, I was constantly getting sharp electric shock type pains in my right side. Baby wasn’t moving when it happened at all, but it happened like 6 times in a row. Every 2/3 minutes. Genuinely thought I was about to go into early labour!

Anyone have any ideas what it could be? I’ve asked Dr Google but the only thing coming up is lightning crotch and it’s definitely not down there so 😳

SJR86 · 10/08/2020 11:48

@FirstSurprise001 that sounds very annoying/painful! Could it be that you twinged a muscle or something as you were getting into bed?
Might be worth a quick call just to run it by someone if you're worried?
I get occasional muscle spasms if I have turned awkwardly but it's usually just a one off.

Hope everyone experiencing the warm weather is managing to keep cool, apparently it is 28 here but it feels so much hotter!

GhostWorld · 10/08/2020 15:25

I think my baby must like standing and straight as he possibly can. I've got what feels like a bruise right at the top of my bump where the top of my uterus is, although I can't see anything. Has anyone else noticed anything similar? I completely forgot to ask my MW at last appointment, and it doesn't seem serious enough to call up about!

SamK93 · 10/08/2020 15:31

@GhostWorld I've had a bruise hard kind of lump at the top of my bump just under my left breast it's been a week now. When I stretch out I can't really feel it but it is there. Not sure what it is to be honest but it's painful sometimes when I'm sitting or if I'm crouching over. I've had the same thing as you, don't know what it is, waiting for a midwife appointment to speak about it as I don't wanna call up over something like that lol.

1990shopefulftm · 10/08/2020 19:17

Slightly tmi question but I ve decided not to breastfeed and nowhere online really I ve found where it says how long it takes for milk to dry up, I m wondering if the two packs of breast pads I ve got will be enough? I don't feel I can ask a midwife and am hoping when I have an appointment where they talk about feeding that they ll respect my reasons why.

@SamK93 that's exactly what I was after, thank you :)

DressingGown87 · 10/08/2020 20:35

@roarfeckingroarr Glad your feeling better, and more organised! 😊

@FirstSurprise001 ouch that sounds painful! Hope your feeling better now. Can’t say I’ve had it, maybe it’s a trapped nerve, or the baby was just pressing on something they shouldn’t.

@GhostWorld hope your feeling a bit better too! If you can just give them a call. They get themselves into some strange positions.

Here’s my updated bump pic (with the sweaty head cropped off) it was so hot, but windy at the top of the fell! It was challenging, but I’m so glad I’ve done it! She is so active at the minute, think she’s appreciated the break away.

Our pram is coming today, I think I may burst with excitement!

SJR86 · 11/08/2020 10:06

@Sls668 exciting!

Don't know if anyone has seen this but Aldi are selling nappy bundles online - works out about 3.2p/nappy for the newborn size.

60sPony · 11/08/2020 10:11

Looking great @DressingGown87! Looks like a beautiful place for a hike!

I’m so big and uncomfortable already. The heat in London isn’t helping.. and having an almost 3 year old who needs entertaining doesn’t help either!

DressingGown87 · 11/08/2020 15:21

@Sls668 Happy Pram Day!! ☺️ Mines come today too, I’ve got the uppababy! Seems so much bigger in the house than shop.

@SJR86 thank you I will take a look.

@60sPony it is roasting today. We had such a huge storm last night, which kept me awake Most of the night. And has just seem to make it hotter.

@DressingGown87 thank you! We have the Bugaboo Fox 2 but there are so many parts to build it up I’ve just left it for my other half, he’ll enjoy building it up anyway!
I feel like we’re slightly more prepared now although still have car seat to buy and nursery furniture!

KitKatKit · 11/08/2020 17:18

@DressingGown87 Look at that fabulous bump!

Congrats to all receiving prams today 😁

I'm currently melting in this 33 degree heat with two fans aimed at me, it seems futile though as my laptop is generating enough heat to fry an egg on it (and it's on a table, not my lap!)

Has anybody else had swollen ankles in this warmer weather? My face and fingers are totally normal (so I'm not majorly concerned about preeclampsia - or should I be?!) but my feet have been usually large and puffy for the last few days.

1990shopefulftm · 11/08/2020 18:50

@KitKatKit my ankles and feet have been a little more swollen, I ve been resting them on my birthing ball and putting an ice pack under my bad foot which helps a fair bit. My blood pressure is fine so I m not worried about it in that sense, it's just uncomfortable

FirstSurprise001 · 11/08/2020 19:26

@KitKatKit amen to the feet swells. I swear mine look like little porky piggy’s 😭

Had my growth scan today and all came back fine! Lovely excuse to see the little boy again though!

Anyone else on ‘The Mum Space’ on Facebook? I joined a few weeks ago and if you can put up with the notifications it’s really helped me as a FTM as they all ask so many questions and you learn a lot ☺️

1990shopefulftm · 11/08/2020 19:39

noticed my notes mention a health visitor visit at 28 weeks, not heard from them so I m wondering if they've cancelled antenatal visits at the moment, anyone heard from one in their area?

If i've understood correctly, it's mostly health promotion things they go through so it's all advice the midwife would give and you could get online anyway.

Mc3209 · 11/08/2020 20:09

I have been a bit swollen, but thankfully it hasn't been too hot in my neck of the woods.
I am craving junk food today. Could murder a big Mac with large fries right now 🤤 but I can't, that would be too much. And I already had my dinner (a huge plate of spag bol).

Mc3209 · 11/08/2020 20:10

@1990shopefulftm I've heard about prenatal health visitor appointments, but these are not really done in my area at the moment (or ever).

Sls668 · 11/08/2020 20:22

My feet are like pig trotters and very uncomfortable. It’s definitely much worse on hot days

DressingGown87 · 11/08/2020 20:43

@1990shopefulftm my letter came through last week from the HV, and she called. She is away for 2 weeks and then I have an appointment with her.

@Sls668 ooo that one was on my shortlist too. Hope he’s managed to put it together. I just had to do the wheels, bar and seat insert. I’ve got the MC pebble pro car seat and ISO fix, they upgraded it to the beeping one.

@KitKatKit it’s in are able isn’t it! And I’m north so it’s cooler. My ankles seem fine at the minute if barefoot or in flip flops, trainers make them hot and swell.

@FirstSurprise001 glad your growth scan was fine. Mine is on Thursday. I will check out that FB group thank you.

@DressingGown87 an appointment at home or over the phone ? DH is much more house proud than me so will probably want to finish repainting the bathroom before we had a home visit as he s worried they would think badly of us if it wasn't perfectly tidy.

DressingGown87 · 11/08/2020 21:02

@1990shopefulftm they where going to confirm. But due to us now being in lockdown I think it will be a telephone appointment. I’m like that, I wanted it to be finished, before my Antental which is home appointment.
