Flosspot, I have funny pains nearly every day, bit of a twinge here, a stretch there, I think it is the normal pains of the body expanding but I have also worried about them. I would always contact your hospital or gp if you need some more advice as I'm sure they will help you stay positive. Next week will be the week I lost mine in my previous pregnancy so look out for similar posts from me! I would seriously try to relax. I also do accupuncture, have done for about 6 months now, and I had some today and she told me that now she is not working on me as such but working on getting all the nourishment to the baby. She also tells me each week I have a 'pregnancy pulse' which I find a relief to know I still have one each week. Just a thought.
Ejt, just looked at your profile to see if there was a picture of your quilt! What a beautiful picture of your little boy, made me say 'arrrrr' outloud! Also, I love your quilt, so much more than a knitted one! It's beautiful.
I'm feeling sick as a pig and don't fancy anything to eat, I never had sickness in other pregnancies, now I know what everyone is talking about! Not been sick but feel sick for hours. Can't think of anything to eat, what did you all eat in the early days?
Have a nice weekend and good luck ejt if this weekend is IT.

ejt1764 · 28/09/2007 18:22

Janus - I found that the stronger the taste, the better ... so marmite toast, chinese takeaway, curry ...

oh, and as for the photo at the wedding fettle, what you don't see is the fact that it had taken me a momentous effort to get out of my wheelchair, which a friend had wheeled out of shot, which then got brought back straight afterwards!

Thanks for the comments about the quilt - I don't do any hand sewing - it's all done on my trusty sewing machine!!

Well, have been nudged in the right direction by the acupuncturist this afternoon: I have to go back again tomorrow, Sunday and Monday - as it's unlikely to do much with just 1 treatment ... then if it doesn't work this weekend, we'll try again next weekend ... I'm also using some of the other methods ... dh thinks it's his birthday !

Have a good one all!

DonDons · 28/09/2007 20:45

EJT you quilt is beautiful - what a fantastic skill to have.

Just eaten a big fat Chinese (thrown half up - so not feeling too guity). Then to get rid of the sicky taste I ate a .... wait for it.... MINT AERO!!!!! Brilliant!

Other than that, things I can keep down include... ryvita, lemon muffins, broad beans (despite being green), bananas (woe betide the fool who takes my last banana) and porridge ie bland stuff.

Interesting things that have passed through my nostrils in the last 5 weeks (ie foods to avoid) any sort of smoothie, baked beans, pumpkin seeds (ouch!) and cheese

Best wishes to all for the weekend! xxx

I lost you! I filled up the thread and started another one but got it wrong and there was no one there and I felt all alone (sob).
I feel like the littlest hobo

positive · 29/09/2007 10:29

hi ellie,

just left you a note on the other thread - messages must have crossed, glad to see you here

EllieG · 29/09/2007 10:32

Thank you. Was starting to panic about missing things, what with rubles and ejt about to pop.

positive · 29/09/2007 10:46

Just wanted to say hi to everyone, hope that you are all keeping well.

My laptop is now being turned off for the weekend, DH and I have agreed to have a computer free weekend this weekend. As soon as I'm ready we are going out. DH just started new job this week after being out of work for a while, so I'm treating him to lunch.

So good vibes and positive thoughts to everyone, will catch up on Monday. x

feedmenow · 29/09/2007 11:35

Hi everyone!

Ejt, BEAUTIFUL quilt! You must feel such a sense of achievement every time you make something as gorgeous as that! Do you do commissions?!?!

Angua, hope the scan goes well. I'm sure it will be fine. Like the others have said, lots of stretching going on at the mo in there! Anyway, let us know how you get on.....

I have come to the conclusion that being lazy really isn't any good for me. It just makes me feel even crapper than normal! So this mornings lazing in bed and sitting round in pj's has been no good at all! Off to get washed and dressed now ready for a family trip out to.....Homebase!!

Bouncingturtle · 29/09/2007 12:55

Feedmenow, Twhat are you, planning some DIY? IKWYM about the laziness, have trouble getting up during the week but come the weekend I want to get up and do things.
POsitive, hope you and your DH have a lovely weekend

DaisyABandyBoobToo · 29/09/2007 13:16

beckle....she'll actually be 17 weeks on Tuesday .

I'm doing OK, still battling with PND unfortunately as the meds aren't really working for me. i'm trying to decide whether to switch babyboo to FF so I can go back on prozac as I know it works for me.

ejt, your photos are lovely. The quilt is fab and will be fine for a girl or a boy with those colours/patter.

I'm impressed with your craft skills. I knit, but haven't for ages....too much time spent on MN I'm afraid.

you look fab in the photo from the wedding btw

not long now!

hi and i hope you are all well to everyone else.

spugs · 29/09/2007 18:49

angua - hope everything went well with your scan.

hi everyone else, hope your feeling well. im full of cold and dd2 whos 17 mths is also suffering with it as well as teething, she had me up all last night after dd1 woke her up singing very loudly when she went to bed have just had a complete battle to get her to go to sleep in her own cot (i won ) as if shes anything like her sis if i let her sleep in my bed once that ll be it forever.

feedmenow · 29/09/2007 19:07

Turtle, dp is going to be laying laminate flooring in the dining room. At the mo, our "spare" bedroom has the computer in (plus tons of junk!) so we plan to move the computer into the dining room so that we can sort the spare room out for bubba. However, at the mo the d/room floor is really manky vinyl tiles, so floor has to be done before moving furniture takes place! Luckily, the laminate flooring we got had 25% off in homebase today AND dp has a friend who works there who very kindly allowed us her staff discount, which got us another 20% off! Always a bonus!

Daisy can you/will yu not take prozac while still b/feeding? Hope you feel better soon...PND sucks

I'm just about to put on a touch of blusher and mascara cos I'm off out to see my friend in the lead role of a local play. Poor girl has got a stinking cold, but the play is rather "racey" with lots of intimate scenes and a bit of snogging...always nice having to snog a fellow thespian with a bunged up snot filled nose!!

Bouncingturtle · 29/09/2007 19:23

Have fun Feedmenow - sounds like you got a bargain and a half with the flooring!\
Daisy sorry you are suffering
Are you going back to your gp then?

ejt1764 · 29/09/2007 19:53

Thanks for all the nice comments everybody - it really helps when you're sat here, as I am, feeling fat, uncomfortable and fed up!!

I don't do commissions for quilts, people wouldn't willing to pay the price I'd need to charge to cover my costs! I do occasionally make crochet blankets / quilts for friends who are having babies, and I made a big crochet blanket / throw for the friends whose wedding we went to in September ... but I need to do something to keep my hands busy ... I don't watch tv and do nothing else, I'm a real fidget!

Went for another nudge from the acupuncturist this morning - no news as yet, but I've got bruises on my hands feet and back from where she put the needles in!

Hope all's well with everybody else (despite cold and stuff!)

DaisyABandyBoobToo · 29/09/2007 20:53

thanks for your concern

I was advised that prozac not good for BFing so was put on Lustral (sertraline) instead. I don't think it is as effective though. I'm still under the care of the mother and baby unit at the psychiatric hospital. They are great, but I don't utilise them as mch as I should.

just looking through the thread, there are so many new names. I wish you all a stress free pregnancy and a happy positive outcome . This thread was a lifeline for me throughout my pregnancy.

ejt1764 · 30/09/2007 14:45

Afternoon all ...

well the 2nd nudge yesterday seems to be doing something ... I spent most of last night on the sofa, having contractions that got to only 6 minutes apart - they started at about 10pm. I'd spoken to the hospital, and they'd told me to try and get as much rest as possible, but to ring them again if I had any change. The contractions finally died away about 6am (but at least I got to get some sleep!) ... have spoken to the mws at the hospital again, as I have the worst period cramps ever ... around my back and all down my legs - horrendous - worse than they used to be in my teens! I've also spent today running backwards and forwards to the loo ...

Have another appointment with the acupuncturist at 5pm ... dh has to drive me as I can't - I feel too yucky! Hopefully that will spur me into some action for tonight!

Hope everybody else is well ...

Bouncingturtle · 30/09/2007 15:41

poor ejt - you must be getting so frustrated!!
I wonder if Rubles has hers by now? More than likely I reckon!

fettleandbabyfettle · 30/09/2007 17:06

ooh exciting ejt!!! Hope your appointment spurs things into action!!!

Hope everyonr else had good weekends.

xxx

daisyandbabybootoo · 30/09/2007 17:31

good luck ejt...you might not be needing the acupuncture

DonDons · 30/09/2007 18:19

GOod luck ejt.... x

EllieG · 30/09/2007 19:54

Good luck ejit! Text me if it all starts happening! (lovely, lovely quilt by the way)

Sorry you are having a hard time daisy - make sure you take all the support that's offered to you x

spugs · 30/09/2007 20:21

lovely quilt ej, hope everything keeps on going

hamabeads · 01/10/2007 11:24

Morning all

I am a regular but have name changed for now - till I get to 12 week mark.

I mc last year at about 8/9 weeks after a couple of weeks of bleeding on and off. Had one scan then where saw beanies heart beat and second scan a week later beanie had died.

I am currently nearly 9 weeks and this morning I have had brown discharge when wiping. Please reassure me this is going to be OK.

I am thinking it is about when af would be due and also we did the deed last night. Could either of these have caused this or is it the end?

MrsMcJnr · 01/10/2007 11:24

Hey ladies, just popping in whilst in Spain to see what´s going on!! Thinking of you all, especially Rubles and Ejt!!! All fine with me, no Addisons after all! I must just be more olived skinned than usual! Lovely and warm here 27c. Think I might have had some Braxton Hicks last night - odd twinges across the bump!!

becklespeckle · 01/10/2007 12:52

Morning all!
Welcome Hamabeads, sorry to hear of your mc last year. Is hard when you get your hopes up with a HB and then lose it. Bleeding you are getting could very well be due to doing the deed, it can often cause it as cervix is all swollen and full of blood (apparently) at this stage. If you are worried then speak to your MW though for reassurance. I have had bleeding during every pregnancy and the worst was with my DS1.
Ejt, I am the same as you, can't just sit and watch TV - I get all fidgety! I do a lot of cross-stich, mainly samplers for friends having babies I have to say! Even with that though there is no way you could cover your costs and your time if you were to try to sell anything! Fingers crossed today will be the day for you hun, sounds like the acupuncture is helping to move you along a bit!
Daisy, sorry to hear you are suffering with your PND , if you feel that prozac would be best for you then I would say to do it. I firmly believe that the best thing for a LO is a happy Mummy regardless of whether you are BFing or FFing them. Plus you have given babyboo 17 weeks of BF which is more than many people manage!
MrsMc, glad you don't have Addisons! Big relief - phew! Very of you in Spain, is very chilly here with lovely rain...
Rubles, thinking of you hun, hope you have your LO safe and sound now!
