Hi everyone. Definitely more of a lurker than a poster these days but wanted to ask you - how do I find the 'due in April' thread? I can't see it in the recently posted list and there are tens of thousands of threads to look through!

Goingfor3 - I do hope this is a false alarm and really feel for you until you find out. Take care!

So exciting skimming through news of our rush of babies!! Congratulations to all of you, and to the new ladies, especially those who've come up from the ttc after mc thread. All the names look so familiar now

I'm now 14 weeks and can find the heartbeat with doppler every time I get wobbly so am far less stressed - so much so that my terror now is around having to give birth again. Jammed my finger in the drying rack the other day which was excruciating and then completely fell to pieces wailing 'how can I go through birth if I can't even cope with jamming a finger?'

Do you think going through mc conditions you to be frightened all the time? I still feel I'm not letting myself enjoy this pg and almost looking for things to worry about!

Woooozle100 · 03/10/2007 18:28

Helloooo - pithy once weekly offering from me. New grand dame Wahey!

Big congrats to ejt. Beautiful name

Hello to Daisy. Sorry to read about pnd. Hope you are being looked after at mother and baby unit. I ended up being under them after dd was born. Wishing you all the best

And special hello to plp and Cerys. Sorry to read of the stresses you have gone through with the operations after her birth. Tis particularly hard to deal with, especially with raging hormones. It kind of hit me afterwards - at the time was just getting through the dramas. Anyway - its good to hear she is doing so well

Glimmer - can totally relate to what you said about people at class. I have fears like yrs. Dh and I were going to go to group natal hypnotherapy session but didn't cos tbh I couldn't be arsed with the other couples chattering on about fear of childbirth

Hello to all the other graduates and babs. Mumpbump - wanted to ask last week what sling are you using? Got a wilkinet last time but really didn't get on with it

I've spent the last week scratching and wiping calamine over myself. Rash easing off a bit. I'm absolutely massive. Went to birth preparation class with dh on sun and was asked by another woman there if I am carrying extra fluid Best mate has told me I look like Mr Greedy after he's been set on fire (cos of skin) Haha. Not that bothered though. Still so chuffed to be at this point

Sorry for not replying to other posts. Don't mean to sound like I am ignoring new posters. Best of luck to everyone x Will try and catch up and post more often

Hi everyone, congrats to all those hitting the 12 weeks mark and good luck for the scans

goingfor3 - i hope everythings ok hun, have you rang the MW?

MOM - glad your back

had a MW appointment for apparently no reason, didnt do anything, no blood pressure, heart beat not even a prod of the belly. seemed a bit pointless!

Mumpbump · 03/10/2007 20:51

Feedmenow - have you asked about NHS antenatal classes? I think they are free. Can't believe it's £229 for NCT in your area. Ours was about £80 plus a membership fee of about £70 if we wanted to join the NCT itself.

Goingfor3 - hoping that everything is okay and that it is just a false alarm. Do you have a local EPU you can contact to get checked out and for reassurance?

EJB - I have a Kari-me sling. website link I think there are instructions on this website - it looks quite daunting, but is actually very easy to use. I lent it to a friend who had been given a sling when she left work and she never used the one she got from her colleagues. They are really soft and meant to be good for bonding and carry children up to 15kg - if you're fit enough to do it!!

becklespookle · 04/10/2007 00:58

Goingfor3, don't give up yet hun, as many have said to you, bleeding is not always bad news. Can you ask for a scan at your EPU? Hope you are okay x

becklespookle · 04/10/2007 01:02

Hi to everyone else! Glad to hear so many of you feeling quite positive! Can't believe I am now 7th in line on the list, makes this baby coming feel more real!

I am so very grateful to be pg and hate to moan but I am finding this pg quite physically demanding. I came in from work tonight and took my socks off (those trainer type ones) and OMG my left ankle is so swollen on one side it looks like I have broken it or something! Foot and calf are a bit swollen too but nothing like the ankle! Strangely my right leg is fine but I guess that could be due to the support stocking? Perhaps I should start wearing them on both legs?

Oh and to make things even better, baby has moved downwards again so hips are sore and am waddling again today.

On the plus side baby has been a little wriggler lately and is always reminding me that s/he is healthy and well. Movements are all getting bigger too and little feet/hands/knees/elbows are getting sharper so it is nice to know LO is growing well!

Bouncingturtle · 04/10/2007 07:15

Hi everyone just caught up, busy day yesterday!
Beckle - I know exactly what you mean - not surprising since we ae due more or less at the same time! Finding it hard that I'm not as physically able at times, but it's also reassuring that babba is quite active.
Gingercat -that singing to bump thing sounds like fun! Wish they did something like that a bit closer to home, but just can't bear the thought of fighting my way through the traffic from Sunderland to get there... Let me know how you find it! I do sing to my bump a lot - especially in the car. My current favourite is
"Dream a little dream".
I'm amazed at the variation in NCT classes prices - mine is £120 + £39 NCT membership, though if you pay for membership separately you get £3 off. I just assumed it wouold be the same all over!

MerlinsBeard · 04/10/2007 10:29

mumpbump, iwould love one of those slings had seen them and not known which they were) but its out of my budget i have a baby bjorn that i used with ds2 that i am going to dig out.

Do they not get cold in those kari me ones?

tizzwhizz · 04/10/2007 11:08

Hi

Congratulations to everyone on their pregnancies.

Is it possible for me to join this thread, I graduated from the caravan of crap thread with a bfp. I am currently on due June 08. So really early days. Had an m/c in June. Just feel a bit on edge as have been trying for dc2 for a while and dont want anything wrong this time.

EllieG · 04/10/2007 15:46

Hey tizzwhizz -welcome to the thread, here's to a dull and uneventful pregnancy for you x

Mumpbump · 04/10/2007 15:47

Congratulations tizzwhizz - hope that this pg is uneventful for you until the last moment!!

MOM - I think because they are right next to your body, your body heat keeps the babies warm. I wear a loose jacket over the top that I do up over the baby if it is cold. Also, it means that when you go into a shop that is warm, you naturally uncover yourself and baby rather than leaving a baby in a snowsuit in a pram, overheating! Have you had a look for any second hand soft slings? I would have thought there'd be some around...

DonDons · 04/10/2007 17:16

TizzWhizz - welcome and here's to a boring and non-complicated pregnancy!

Just adding myself in....

Hey Tizzwhizz - just saying hi from the June 08 thread. I think we have pretty much all had previous miscarriages, I suppose those that join us later will be the naive first-timers who don't test on 10DPO and just swan in at six weeks PG. I am doing OK at the mo, staying positive. Hope all goes well for you!

tizzwhizz · 04/10/2007 18:07

Hi
Thanks for the welcomes everyone. Congratulations to all those that have graduated with the birth of their little ones.

I see from the list there are some coming up soon too. Good luck to all.

Hi Nh101,Good to meet someone from the June 08 thread. Really pleased you are doing ok.

Hope everyones having a good day.

Bouncingturtle · 04/10/2007 18:47

Welcome tizzwhizz! Feel free to say whatever you like, I know that especially in the early days, the optimism on some of the antenatal clubs from those who have never had a m/c can be hard to take at times...

positive · 04/10/2007 18:58

Hi tizzwhizz,

congrats on your bpf. you're with plenty of friends over here, we've all had our worries/problems so dont be afraid to just say how you feel. heres me saying that and i'm only 12 +2, but i've found that MN has been a godsend for me so far, everyone is so supportive.

Hi to everyone else, hope you're keeping well.

My scan is tomorrow morning so i'm now counting down in hours not days - how sad is that. so WHEN all goes well tomorrow i'll have the courage to add myself to the edd list.

good vibes and positive thoughts

tizzwhizz · 04/10/2007 20:13

Thank You Positive and BouncingTurtle. I really appreciate that. Only plucked up the courage to start posting on mn for a few months although have found it brilliant for info since having ds.

Didnt realise that the m/c had had the effect it seems to have had on me. Had a lot going on family wise at the time and kind of did the old pick myself up and get on with it bit. But now I am pregnant again just seem to have paranoid moments. Want to avoid anything that may pose a risk. Wasnt like this with first ds was insistant on carrying on as normal.

I am sure everyone has had similar feelings at some point.

Thank you again for the welcomes.

anneme · 04/10/2007 20:58

I have just seen this thread - wish i had seen it a year ago! Just something to give you all hope. I had 3 mc after DS1 but then in May, almost a year to the day after having my third D and C I gave birth to DS2. He is snoring away downstairs as I write. I don't think I really relaxed until he arrived - in fact i slept better after giving birth even with all the wakeups!
Funnily enough I found mumsnet after reading the book that had been put together of info from Mumsnet - I found it really helpful. Hmm...can't remember its name.
Good luck all of you - it DOES work out in the end

missworry · 04/10/2007 23:28

Hello all,

Best of luck with your scan today POSITIVE. You might have to try and do some controlled slow breathing in the waiting room. Waiting is excruciating isn't it, I can well understand you counting down the hours. Is DH going with you?

4 more sleeps until my 12 week scan on Tuesday. The bleeding has stopped now and I am still retching in the morning, so I think that must be a good sign.

Welcome and good luck to new nervous pregnant ladies.

Love Missworry.

Bouncingturtle · 05/10/2007 06:57

Anneme - thanks for sharing that with us, that was very kind of you - that's the sort of story we like to hear!
Positive - fingers crossed for your scan!
Missworry - glad you are feeling happier, the feeling sick is a very good sign, if not a very pleasent one!

hamabeads · 05/10/2007 07:11

Morning

Positive - goo luck with your scan.

I had my booking appt with MW on Weds. She seemed to think the brown discharge was nothing too much - haven't been sent for a scan. Is it normal now to have booking appt so early? 9 weeks seems the norm here. I just kept saying to her... 'if I make it that far...' everytime she mentioned further appointments/scans/tests etc.

Good news though the discharge seems to have stopped (for now)!

DonDons · 05/10/2007 08:06

hamabeads - I had my booking appointment at 6 weeks!

Positive - just logged on to say best of luck today - I'll be thinking of you from my desk

tizzwhizz · 05/10/2007 08:10

Just wanted to say Good Luck with Scan Positive.
