@otterbaby I had quite a lot come out. They'd told me to have tablets to stop it but I didn't want to risk something else I could have a reaction to. I didn't try and stop it at all so that's probably why.

I have spent the afternoon in the nursery trying to get rid of all the packaging from recent deliveries and have come to the conclusion that I have brought far too many safari animal themes things. This kid had better be as obsessed with animals as I am...

Don't worry @otterbaby mine aren't leaking and didn't leak first time -first time I exclusively breastfed for 6 months and gave DD first feed within an hour of being born with no problems and I had loads of milk so I don't think it means anything if you don't leak!!

28 weeks today and got my eye op tomorrow so hopefully will actually be able to see through my left eye!!

So annoyed my changing bag was supposed to arrive today but now it's not coming til Tuesday -really wanted to see it!! Xx

Girls I'm quite worried, never had issues with movement but this nor img never felt anything till like 11 which is it normal and lucky if had much more throughout the day. I'm now too worried to go get checked 😢 so those that have experienced this, should I drink ice cold water and lie on left side for 15 mins? xx

Report
Treaclepie19 · 19/07/2020 20:28

@Treacle81 I'd just give them a ring now. Always best to get checked out when things are different. Hope all is okay ❤

Hope you've felt some movement by now Treacle81. It's always good to call if you are worried about anything. They will be more than happy to see you.

I know what you mean though. The few times I've felt like that I've not wanted to call 'too early' and have fortunately managed to convince her to move with ice cold fizzy drinks and sugary snacks. But if you're worried please call xx

Hey @Treacle81 - I was worried a few days ago but lucozade immediately got the bump kicking! Hope you’ve managed to get hold of the midwife or GP.

And @BntTowers - we’ve done the same - somehow I’ve got a palm tree in the post... never thought I’d see the day...

@Treacle81 hope you are alright x please go in and get them to check you if you are concerned . I have been three times and they always say come in anytime you feel concerned .

Ahh had so much to catch up on the convos move so fast !

@Alana1984 ooh that sounds positive.

In another note I am not leaking - do you have to leak to breastfeed. I do want to try and breastfeed... I thought leaks only happened after . ( my boobs have not changed size at all despite me looking like a beached whale )

I just got the positive birth book as a gift will start reading it seems like a good shout as everyone is recommending it.

Urgh, DD has given me the lurgy and I'm feeling terrible. I think shes picked up a cold at nursery (to be expected when they didnt see each other for 3 months) and has passed it on to me. Shes had loads of snot and a bit of a cough, so ordered Covid tests for us all, but I'm 99% sure its just a cold. Now I'm really snotty and have a really sore throat. Its woken me up and really hurts. Damn children are plague carriers. I've got so many horrible bugs from her since she started nursery. Be prepared for this in the future ladies. Now, want can I have that's not a medicinal hot toddy?!

Aww @Spark27
thanks for the heads up on germs and getting unwell!

I hope you are feeling a little better - I am not sure what you can take whilst pregnant to help ease and soothe .
Get well soon Flowers

Anyone else find it hard to settle their body down and sleep . I am finding it so uncomfortable I just feel annoyed sleeping on my left and I miss on my right and cuddling dh and sleeping - now my stomach is just in the way. I just want a safe delivery of baby quickly now. ( Also if I feel I am measuring really big - should I go on a diet ? )

@Treacle81 hope you got some reassurance either by baby or going in.

For those worrying about leaking I never leaked with my first and milk supply was good and I'm not leaking now and not worried, I really don't think it matters

@Treacle81 hope everything is ok. X

@Zaalfruit I am also struggling to get comfortable at night now. Before it would be because something like my hip hurt but now it's just generally feeling uncomfortable. I sleep on either side, I've noticed not all midwives even mention the left side thing and I just find my left side a lot less comfortable. I think because baby is currently more down that side ... I'm guessing from a lot of movement there.

@Spark27 hope you feel better soon. When you order the tests do they just post them to you?

Quiffy · 20/07/2020 08:50

No leaking here either - but if I get sweaty under my boobs it smells like sweet milk 😹 and like you @indigogirl88 some very nice crust 😅

@BntTowers safari animal sounds so cute. I'm sure they'll be obsessed too

@Treacle81 Hope everything is okay ❤️

@Spark27 hope you're feeling better today

@Zaalfruit I wouldn't say diet for a big bump as it could easily be all the fluid. But if you're feeling you're putting on a lot try sticking to healthier options but not cut so to say? I'm with you on the uncomfortable, it's really hard now and baby doesn't like me sleeping on left (he pushes down and I can't sleep) and waking up with cramps in hips. It's a relief to get up in the morning!

My parents are on their way down to stay with us a few days. Very excited! Happy 29 weeks to all of us due Oct 5th 🎉🎉

otterbaby · 20/07/2020 09:22

@Zaalfruit I switch from my left to right side throughout the night, I wouldn't be able to cope staying on one side all night!

@Spark27 lots and lots of hot lemon water. Hope you feel better soon.

@Quiffy can't believe we're already at 29 weeks! One more week and we'll be in the 10 week countdown 😳 need to start on my hospital bag!

Is anyone else meal prepping frozen meals? I think we're going to batch cook a bunch of pasta sauce and a few bits like banana pancakes so I have some easy breakfasts when baby is here.

BntTowers · 20/07/2020 09:24

@Treacle81 I hope everything is ok and you got checked out or baby started moving.

@LostinAusten2 there's a really good "urban jungle" shop with lots of indoor plants in town where I am and I'm tempted to go there and see if I can get a couple of small plants to go in the nursery...

@Zaalfruit I'm so uncomfortable, yesterday evening I just couldn't stand the feeling of clothes any more. Ended up striping off and just in a dressing gown for most of the evening. The heat doesn't help either.

@Quiffy that sounds good, enjoy your few days with them and happy 29 weeks to you.

@Spark27 that's lousy, I hope you are feeling better. From what I know the tests arrive quite quickly, it's getting the results which can be a few days longer, but fingers crossed it's just a cold your little one has brought back.

@otterbaby we have a little chest freezer arriving at the end of the week for this reason. I have been starting to make a list of things to make and freeze. Like; chilli, Ragu, casserole, chicken in a white sauce with mushrooms/leeks, soups.
Banana pancakes are a good idea to add to the list...

Thanks for the messages ladies. Managed a bit more sleep but woke up feeling terrible. DD seems ok, coughing a bit but not too much, still full of snot. My throat is so sore, and it feels like it's in my ears/jaw too. Poor DH is going to have his work cut out for him today!
I went online yesterday and ordered a few tests just in case. They will be delivered today. So that's quick. From the looks of it you have to drop them off at a specially selected post box in the local community? Seems odd if you're meant to be staying in? We'll see.

I am planning on batch cooking @otterbaby. I did it last time and it was great to not have to worry about meals. On my list I have pasta sauces, chilli, spag bol, lasagne mince, chicken enchilada filling, beef casserole/bourginion, etc. Things like sliced potato/gratin are ratatouille are good for sides. I'll also be buying things like stuffed pasta, pie, pizza, etc. And chucking in some bread, milk for when we inevitably run out but cant be bothered to go shopping.
And hoping to get round to making the dough for scones (adding things like olives/cheeses/sundried tomatoes) to freeze so it can be easily defrosted and cooked.
I'm hoping I get a burst of energy to do all of this!

Morning girls, I done some exercises, drank fizzy juice and he moved, what a relief. I will never moan at his movements every again! He's had me up since half 4 moving and it is NOW the best feeling. Defo must have just had a off day but I'll keep an eye on it. Thanks for all your advice. Feel better soon @Spark27 my partner has taken test and said it was awful, right at back of throat then straight up nose and yes it goes to specified post box. Thankfully he got all clear but there is possibly an outbreak in my district 😳 xx

@otterbaby I've been thinking hospital bag too. Starting picking up a few things. Getting very real now! If I do my bag he'll appear at 42 weeks, if I don't he'll try to be a September baby 😹

@indigogirl88 mine took around a week for them to reply so they're doing it much faster than the 4 weeks they're warning so won't take too long.

@Spark27 good luck with the test!

@Treacle81 glad he's moving! They can be such a worry 😭

I really want baby out by 37-39 weeks . I just feel so big and eating is now painful .
For my hospital bag - I have just packed my toiletries- we still need to buy nappies for the baby - I am going to take a lot of the freebies I received and place them in the hospital bag which will then be placed into the baby bag. The mini creams are so so cute . Is it bad that I’m thinking of the snacks to take in my hospital bag. I really hope I’m not in longer than 24-48 hours all in all.
In terms of clothes - what should we take I really want to pack minimal as well.

@Spark27 hopefully you feel better !!
