@blankiesandunicorns thank you! I am looking forward to actually seeing a midwife.

@NWnature really exciting about your private scan!

@Zaalfruit yes I'm very emotional just had a big cry already this morning because my mum brother and his fiancé are all going out for a nice shopping trip to places like Harvey Nichols for makeup etc and then all going for a lovely posh lunch. I know I could go but I just feel it it's not necessary I don't think I should do things like that. But I'm so torn. Anyway I had a cry about it. Lockdown and pregnancy really is hard. Also re the money thing we haven't been arguing just more I can tell DP is feeling the pressure of being the only earner when I'm on mat leave. I keep telling him it's only temporary and we will be fine but I can tell it's stressing him out.

I'm also struggling to sleep like a few of you, go to bed really late now because just not tired then I struggle to sleep for ages because of spd pains then I wake up really early and can't get back to sleep. I wonder why I just don't seem to need any sleep!! I'm never like this normally!

@Spark27 hope your visit goes quick for you and is not too bad!

@LexiM is it little or big things they are looking to buy? The only bits we still need which I'm holding off incase get bought them (and it we don't it's not essential to have before baby here we can just rush out and buy) are baby towels, more blankets (don't think you can ever have enough), play mat just more for somewhere to lay the baby soft not that she will play on it for a while anyway! If anyone wants to put together in my family I may ask for a travel cot or high chair. Also because it's christmas not long after our babies are here I think I'm going to ask for things like a nice breast pump from my mum and if for whatever reason BF doesn't work for me I'm going to ask my dad for a tommee tippee perfect prep machine (which if I needed sooner than Xmas I'm sure they'd just give me it early!)

@Indigogirl88 don't worry I don't think about the pulled muscle, I've overdone it quite a bit recently too with clearing things out of house and moving heavier things than I should. I am better at being motivated at decorating than dp but the stretching up put me off doing it but I read that stretching up is actually ok so maybe I'll get on with it.

Treacle81 · 18/07/2020 12:54

Afternoon girls, I sorted the man issue by having bed to myself since start of week, defo better! I am the same, got everything now so will prob ask for clothes from 6 months and say it will be summer time stuff xx

Indigogirl88 · 18/07/2020 13:31

@quiffy thank you yeah mine doesn't like it when I go to the right most of the time I feel her laying the full left of my body!

I feel better today, slept OK and feeling baby girl a good amount Grin

On the dp front cant complain today, he's doing decorating that I have gently nagged about the past few months hehe

MummyBearBoo · 18/07/2020 14:21

My tummy is moving all over the place I'm just sat up eating my lunch she's having a right wriggle !!

28 weeks tomorrow!! Finally got some stuff got the essentials: nipple cream, maternity pads, nursing pads, paper pants and barrier cream then got some sleepsuits and short sleeved body suits and dribble bibs and a tatty teddy sleepsuit with hat coming home outfit! My new changing bag is coming tomorrow!! Xx

Alana1984 · 18/07/2020 19:09

@Quiffy your MIL sounds like great fun! It's weird isn't it, I'm pleased other people also feel anxious but of course a bit sad at the same time because none of us should be feeling that way (not about a pandemic anyways)

@MummyBearBoo you're sounding crazy organised! Paper pants? Do I need those 😂. Everytime I finish my list, I end up adding 12 more things!

Had a super fun day today, a power surge knocked out loads of electrics Tuesday night (200+ houses), and this morning we waited patiently for the emergency repair team to come fix the boiler and no one came - I don't care about the appliances but I do need hot water and my washing machine back! Fortunately after a few calls they've fixed the boiler but I've just been handwashing pants 😂

Meanwhile I've had mild - moderate lower abdominal pain since last night, had to call the doc just to check but pretty sure everything is fine, he's just in an awkward spot putting pressure on my abdomen.

Fun day! 🙄

MummyBearBoo · 18/07/2020 20:25

@Alana1984 - not totally organised really just realised that 12 weeks isn't a long time!!

I used paper pants last time coz they are easy just to rip off and lost quite a lot of blood so they were just useful- the disposable ones you buy are just a bit better than the ones the hospital give you!!
Once the messy bit is over I put proper
pants back on with a maternity pad!

My bump has had another growth spurt and OMG my DH took a picture of me to add to one of my apps and I look like an actual beached whale -the camera adds a few lbs right? It is all bump at least though!! Xx

Indigogirl88 · 19/07/2020 00:23

So girls i had a lovely day today, met up with a friend for lunch and tried to chill a bit. But got home and dp had been decorating, he then made me feel guilty for not lifting a finger despite all the "jobs" I've been doing and feeling knackered because of it. Like he wants a medal or something. I know I'm being sensitive but I feel really down about it and its put a real dampener on my day.

Indigogirl88 · 19/07/2020 00:27

Forgot to add he used the classic "youre pregnant, not ill " line. I mean honestly does he want any balls left?

Alana1984 · 19/07/2020 03:21

@MummyBearBoo ah, that makes sense - good pro tip! 😁

@Indigogirl88 whaaaat?! Yeah, he needs a good talking to. That's made me so mad! If he actually said, you're pregnant not ill then you're not being sensitive, he is being unkind. You don't help prepare for the arrival of your baby to score brownie points. Growing a human is hard work (as you well know) push yourself harder than your body will allow and you're genuinely risking the health of you both. I would honestly ask your midwife to have a word, trust me, they've seen it before!

I'm up at 3am BTW because I'm no longer in pain so obviously I was worried he wasn't OK, so I've come downstairs to rudely wake him up with a pint of water to make sure he's still wriggling around in there. He is 😁 so I'm back off to bed in a bit xx

Alana1984 · 19/07/2020 03:27

Oh, I forgot to say (sorry if TMI)... I know this is probably normal for most of you but I got a tiny (miniscule really) bit of colostrum leakage!

Because I've had a left mastectomy/reconstruction and a right breast reduction I didn't know if my right would even produce milk (the left can't full stop) so a small sign of a chance makes me very happy! 😁

Quiffy · 19/07/2020 07:35

@AutumnBabyWinterMummy ahh that’s so tough with your family. Hard not to want to go but also the worry of doing it. Lockdown is very hard.

@MummyBearBoo happy third trimester!

@Alana1984 exactly we should all be worrying about other things! That’s so exciting on your leaking ❤️ Must be a good sign

@Indigogirl88 He is shocking, being ill would be easier and it wouldn’t last 9 months. Your body is running a marathon behind the scenes growing the baby!

Treacle81 · 19/07/2020 09:38

Morning girls! Oh I just can't stop eating as never feeling full these days. Put 4 pounds on since Monday 😳 that's a first! Defo needing to order a gym ball as last night was second night in row I've had lower back pain and was too uncomfortable to lie in bath for long, which usually helps ease pains. I was so fed up yesterday but felt too tired to do anything at same time so after overtime im going to make sure I either work out or go a nice walk! Happy 3rd tri to those it applies to 😊 @Alana1984 very happy to hear you are leaking lol as was I, a tiny bit from right nipple when I squeezed just to see.My milk never came in on time for first son ( after reading the PBC) I believe the reason was down to the traumatic Labour which I never knew could affect it. Loved the book, so going to purchase the digital pack now. Sorry to hear about your partner issues @Indigogirl88 but glad you had good time out xx

LexiM · 19/07/2020 10:13

@Treacle81 I have stopped weighing myself because I dont think it can have any positive impact for me. I seem to go through phases of being hungry and eating what seems like a lot then back to normal. Yes definitely get a ball!!

I made good use of my ball last night! We went on a 2 hour walk yesterday and I got on/off pains at the bottom of my bump but they didn't last long. A couple of hours later though I felt awful, I expect it was just the heat though as I was fine once I'd eaten and had lots of cold drinks. Felt nice to get out for a decent amount of time as we haven't really done that together much recently. One of us goes to the shop or I go out when DH is working.

@Indigogirl88 sorry to hear your partner ruined your day. Since being pregnant I truly believe unless you've been pregnant yourself you cannot fully appreciate what your body goes through. It is really hard work and I'm sure you deserved your day with your friends. There really is nothing like carrying a baby in terms if how your body and mind feel.

@Alana1984 I am leaking too, not lots thankfully! I can see why you're pleased about it though.

I am still at a standstill with preparing much for baby. I know we still have plenty of time though. My friend is coming down with clothes 1st August so that will probably help focus my mind on what we still need. Thanks for suggestions for gift ideas - weve had a little think and done a Amazon wish list which I feel a bit awkward about but I know friends and family will keep asking until I suggest something!! I've put mainly smaller items on there like toys, extra muslins etc. We are also going to suggest people could choose their favourite childhood book for him if they dont have any ideas and want to get something. I think it's a lovely idea and a child can never have too many books!

Treaclepie19 · 19/07/2020 11:32

I need to get bouncing on my ball. Im so sore these days.
I've rejoined slimming world because my diet was getting to be awful and I put on 8lbs really quickly after managing to keep it as a loss or maintain for the first half.
Feeling good for it and not being too rigid 😊

Trying to get some bits done today. Been to the tip and now feel stuck again. We have so much stuff to donate and people are being flaky.

I have a midwife appointment Wednesday which I'm quite looking forward to. Though I have noticed my mood is pretty much crazy highs and lows at the moment 😔

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday ❤

BntTowers · 19/07/2020 11:53

@Indigogirl88 sounds like you had a lovely day, sorry you partner ruined it. You are doing more than your fair share and he is doing the minimum by decorating/ DIY. It's more important for your and therefore baby's health to not do that sort of stuff. I hope you are feeling better this morning.

@Alana1984 that's great news, fingers crossed that it will work for you!

We have a NCT class starting on Monday and just been added to a WhatsApp group, I didn't want to be the last one to send in a photo and introduction buy DH has only just got up so I suppose we are... Not that it really matters at all.

We have no plans today and I'm bored, I just want to go and do something but I feel so limited.

MummyBearBoo · 19/07/2020 12:03

Thanks @Quiffy!!!

@Alana1984 -leakage sound really positive for you!!! Sound like your milk will come thru ok!!

@Treaclepie19 -I'm the sane constantly on my ball but I've hit round ligament pain on my inside thigh if my left leg which starts to hurt after a bit!!

@BntTowers -I found NCT classes really helpful my first time and am still friends with some of our group 4.5 years on!! Xx

BettyBotter1 · 19/07/2020 12:12

@Alana1984 that's great news, happy for you! @LexiM good idea with the Amazon list and I like the book idea, nice and personal. We have a list too as lots of family want to know what they can get us. It feels a bit presumptuous but good that we get things we need rather than stuff we don't and I think it's better to know your gift will be useful. @Indigogirl88 sorry to hear your man is causing you pain, I don't think they get what it's like to grow a human inside of you, how all consuming it is. But there are no excused for the 'you're not ill' line.
I am so hungry when I wake up these days. I'm off to make millionaires shortbread, screw healthy eating...

Treaclepie19 · 19/07/2020 12:57

@MummyBearBoo that's the problem isn't it. So sore :(
Feels like I've been kicked between the legs by a horse.

@BettyBotter1 can I have some please? Millionaires shortbread is amazing 😍

Hi ladies, just got back from a weekend at the inlaws. So pleased to be home. MIL's, urgh. But we haven't seen them since xmas so thought we should. Keeping them away from DD was a challenge. Why do some people think they dont have to follow the rules?
Was so uncomfortable the whole time. Pleased to be back, relaxing at home.

30w today, and feeling it. Tired, aches and pains, lots of movement.

Just going to read back and catch up xx

otterbaby · 19/07/2020 14:37

@BntTowers we're doing our NCT course at the minute and it's been really interesting. Sounds like our group is planning a pre-baby meet up as well which will be nice!

Feeling a little worried that my breasts aren't leaking after everyone saying theirs are! I really want to try breastfeeding, hopefully it's not a problem that mine aren't yet...

BntTowers · 19/07/2020 14:57

@otterbaby mine aren't leaking either. Not worrying too much about it yet as there's still a while left for us to catch up.
Everyone seems lovely so far, looking forward to the first one tomorrow.

Treaclepie19 · 19/07/2020 15:13

Mine aren't leaking either. The first time they didn't leak and I did have trouble with my milk coming in but that was most likely from being separated from DS (Nicu)
Last time even though I was only 22 weeks (tfmr) my milk came in quickly even though it wasn't needed.
So I wouldn't worry too much.

OP posts:
Spark27 · 19/07/2020 15:43

Mine didnt start leaking until about 36/37w last time, and even then if was only a few drops. I had no problem with expressing milk, and made loads (weird thing to feel like you're bragging about Grin) Also my boobs didnt really change/grow much at all last time. No real changes until I starting trying to bf/express x

MrsD1990 · 19/07/2020 15:49

@alana1984 I'm really happy for you getting your milk in, it sounds like it's a great sign 😊

@lexim good idea with the Amazon wish list! And the favourite book idea is lovely 😊

@Indigogirl88 ugh annoying your DP is still making these comments!! Growing a human is hard work and sometimes it is like being ill...

@bnttowers how lovely that they start a WhatsApp group before it even starts! Me and husband were talking about NCT the other night and were a bit worried we might not get the same support network that others get from NCT before lockdown so it's good to hear that people are still keen to chat etc!

@otterbaby the prebaby meet up sounds so good! I have one friend back in my home town that has had a baby but of my close friends in London me and my husband are the first to have a baby so we're leaning quite heavily on NCT for a support network to get to know other parents etc (as well as learning things about birth and baby!!)

otterbaby · 19/07/2020 15:53

Thanks for the reassurance ladies 🙂

@treaclepie19 I'm not sure if my milk came in after my tfmr last year - they got massive and really hard but I wore a tight sports bra basically from the minute I got home to compress them so no idea if there was actually milk there.
